I feel like doing an exercise with the "many hats section". I have BPD and its hard to understand who I am at my core so hearing that segment helps me a lot.
Just starting to learn RO and this was very helpful. I am hoping to use these slides to enhance skills group when I get the chance to lead it!! Nice job! Lots of hard work on your part.
One thing I am trying to practice is having "my insides" match "my outside" ---so what is appropriate if I am overwhelmed? This would suggest that saying I feel overwhelmed is ...not good social signaling?
Hi Merzui, It's not always a bad thing to say you are overwhelmed. I'm sure what you say and how you say it could vary depending on the circumstance and who you are with. But whether or not you directly say you are overwhelmed, maybe there are some choices you could make to decrease your overwhelm or set a boundary. For example, maybe if you are overwhelmed with tasks and chores at home, you could delegate certain things. If you are overwhelmed with school work, you can choose not to pull an all-nighter and know when to take breaks. If you are overwhelmed at a social gathering, you could find a way to step outside to get a little alone time or arrange for an "out" so you can leave early. If you are overwhelmed with caretaking children or the elderly, perhaps you could get other people involved to lighten your load. You could practice saying "no" when people ask favors if doing them will be too much for you.
I absolutely love your classes! You teach the concepts so well. Thank you for taking the time to do this!😊
Awh, thanks so much! 🙏❤️
Outstanding job on this video packed with great information
She's the only doctor on UA-cam covering RO DBT from what I've seen! Love her.
