Die Hard. I do inventory at the end of Jan and the end of Jul each year. I keep my items on shelves/in bins organized by what it is (hats, toys, clothes, glass, etc.) so it is easy to see at a glance what is there. I keep my listings at about 225 listings and end ones that have no views after a month, then tweak those and sell similar to get them attention. Eventually 95% of my pickups sell. That eBay listing report is a big help during my inventories.
Die Hard is definitely a Christmas movie! Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones, Kevin. I'm a long- time follower, and really appreciate your knowledge, wisdom and insight (and patience too!)
I cleaned up my store by killing over 300 older listings, checked all prices and cleaned up titles, then relisted them with sell similar. I also listed everyday new items. I had great sales.....it was worth the time I spent. It was nice to see the older items sell!!
I am a very very small business so I've done inventory once a year. I've found mysteriously unlisted items, items listed but I can't find and more. It's helpful to do. If I had a larger inventory, I think I would take your approach. I do tweak listings, sell similar and refresh the listing on occasion (occasion being when I remember!) and it does help. I enjoy your videos and learn a lot, thank you
The way I do it is...Take photos. Just take lots of photos of your bins, boxes, shelves...then go to your listings and go down the line and check the photos to find your items. Then no getting up and down etc... Much easier to take lots of photos once and then sit down at the computer. Merry Christmas!
Die Hard In my full time job your process is called cycle counting. It’s done daily, does not cause interruption in the business and keeps inventory pretty well accurate. We have thousands of locations in each warehouse, counting a few locations a day keeps it on track. It also helps with not having to shut down the entire company for a week just for inventory. Absolutely love all of your channels and thank you for sharing information, I have learned quite a bit. Merry Christmas!
I often delist and sell similar items that I think should have sold by now and drop the price on them. It works better for me then doing mark down sales. Happy Holidays to you and your family!
Die Hard. And yes, It's Christmas movie 😁. Definitely need to do inventory. Every business does. My husband and I started reselling this past summer and we will have a plan to do inventory this upcoming year. My Go 2 Tape. And Merry Christmas to you and your family!!! Thank you for your hard work and all you do for the reselling community.
Ebay definitely takes down your listed items with no notice or reason. I have lost over 25 items I know of that ebay just magically took down. I guarantee almost anyone who goes thru their inventory will find items they had listed that are no longer listed. Ebay will always deny they do this but they do or their system does. 100%
Once a year, we set aside a few days to pull old listing. Check the prices and wordings. Make sure you click sell similar before updating and relist it.
Die Hard is a Christmas movie ( and I have a T-shirt that says so!). I go through my inventory once or twice a year. I make sure everything is where it says it is and I clean up old listings.
Die Hard is a Christmas movie. There is no debate We definitely need to go through all of our inventory. It’s a mess, probably more than most people can imagine, but it has to happen. Pray for us, please 😅
I don't have an issue with items getting delisted but I do find that when I was starting out I didn't understand how important the first 4 or 5 words are to search results like you said. Ending and relisting gets me major sales to begin with without even improving the title as well because of ebay's algorithm.
Die Hard is a Christmas movie! I ordered a shirt like that for my daughter. 😂 I do inventory about once a year and I end and sell similar every 90 days. I take that time to tweak titles etc. I’ve gone in and see that for some reason one of my measurements for shipping is bumped up to 25”. Don’t know how that happens but it makes my shipping cost go waaaay up. Once I fix that, the item usually sells pretty quickly.
My Go 2 Tape Kevin, the funny part about the Cowboys is We have a dog named Cowboy and a dog named Dallas! And I’m a Greenbay Packer. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your Families and fur babies❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉♥️🇺🇸🙏😇🫶💜💜💜🐒
I do believe in tweaking old listings but I don't like the sell similar. If I don't mess with things, everything is in order based on when I listed the stuff, but when I do end and sell similars, the items move to the front of the line and unless I look at my own personal inventory number, I have no idea of how old my listing is. Also, eBay could make it easier by allowing us to do sales based on item numbers. Right now, we can only do a sale by category or we can do the entire store and manually remove the items not wanted on the sale. With over 4,000 items in my store, that is just too much work.
My Go 2 Tape - congratulations on all the great sales - I don’t have enough listings to warrant a store subscription, so inventory is not a problem. However, if I ever get working on my death pile, then I will sign up for a store and will probably make more sales, which will result in taking inventory every once in a while😉 Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
❤watching your videos and advice. I'm new to selling on eBay. Working on my beautiful late Mom's shopping addiction while caretaking for my sweet Dad. Rece nly lost my furbaby, 😢. Love seeing yours.
So sorry for your lost of your mom and your fur baby “they too are part of the family”! I can’t Imgine life w/out my mom”She’s all I have left”. Both my father and dad passed away years ago. I just pray she’s not getting dementia 💜♥️🫶🇺🇸🙏🫶🙏
I agree with all that you said and do regarding inventory. I pretty much do the same and find it does help sales and not necessarily the items I had adjusted. At least I think so. I also go in and change prices higher and those items will sell at the higher price! IMO being active with existing listings and listing good items is key. 😊 love your videos as always, TY.
Every morning the first thing I do is end listings that are 4 months old and evaluate them. I either relist them or put them in my death pile to later sell in lots, take to local auction, donate or throw in the dumpster. The items I relist I will either raise or lower price depending on the current market and change up titles and make sure all the item specifics are filled out correct or retake photos if needed. All this takes between 30 min to 4 hours depending on the number of listings that are at 4 months on that given day. I spend anywhere from 2 to 4 hours every other day listing. I try to keep 2 to 3 weeks of scheduled listings.
Since I only have a little over 400 items at the moment, I do a inventory check every couple of months. Usually it just takes one weekend, but I feel so much better after I do. I know that I have all my items listed and exactly where they are.
I run a small 'store' (less than 250 items), so I think I might approach inventory by clicking on each category in my store, pulling everything listed there, then grouping them together in storage. Once everything already listed is accounted for, I'll know that anything leftover will need to be listed (or relisted, as the case may be) and added to the appropriate storage area.
Die Hard is the movie, My Go 2 Tape is the Tape, two great things for Christmas. And a Merry Christmas to you, your family, all the pets and all viewers of your great content.
In Minnesota there are no garage sales from mid-late October until April. But I can source from estate sales, especially bid online estate sales, and also from thrift stores.
My Go 2 Tape! How do you know if there is am item listed that you no longer have? I have had that happen where I sold the item and for whatever reason it was still listed.
My Go 2 Tape is great. Die Hard is definitely a Christmas movie. No debate on that one. LOL Merry Christmas to the Brown family and all of your viewers.
Die Hard, Die Hard, Die Hard! (Rick and Morty reference.😉) I regularly see what has been listed more than 3 months and end and sell similar when I don't feel like doing new listings. Keeps the store fresh when you are tired or on vacation. And it helps sell stuff!
Die Hard. IMO not a Christmas movie, but I know there are many of you that will disagree with me 😂 Merry Christmas🎄 I was planning to start inventory soon. Our store will mark its one year anniversary this February. I end and sell similar a lot. I’m wondering how many I thought I sell similar but deleted the listing. I guess I’ll find out soon. I also like the idea that you section it. That’s manageable and not so overwhelming. Thanks for the strategy.
lol Die Hard is the movie. My Go 2 Tape please. Yes year end and mid year I start working on reconciling my inventory. I have found items that dropped off or were delisted. I just found a Christmas item which is a bummer because it probably would have sold by now.
I agree, 100%, I’ve gone through some of my items and can’t find them on EBay, but they are listed on Mercari, and I know that they were listed on EBay, because that is were I start my listing. I just wish EBay would stop doing it, because we spend a lot of time listing items only to find out that they delisted them😡
About five years ago I had a huge storage unit full of jeans and jackets all listed on Ebay One time I was doing a stock check and I came to a rail of Levi trucker style jackets that used to be great sellers I hadn't had a sale in ages on them and I thought I would check views watchers etc maybe change price and guess what every single one wasnt listed any more No wonder they weren't selling ...Thanks Ebay
I love how the Disruptive Dogs got chased out, but the Clawed Destroyer got to stay. Inventory now..nothing. I don't sell any more due to..long story omitted.
So it makes sense that you can figure out what you don’t have listed by going through your inventory, but how would you figure out if you have stuff that’s not listed or that you don’t have rather. Also, I have had a very hard time finding some of my stuff that actually is listed by unbranded because I didn’t know keywords as well as I do now when I listed them and I have two accounts so it’s really a nightmare.
I can watch Die Hard (Roy Rodgers) Lol 😆 Once a Month. I Have A John McClane Die Hard T-Shirt I wear Every Christmas 🎄 I have done inventory every 6 months since I started as a Seller 2 years ago, What I don’t sell I donate to a Private Party. I♥️My Go 2 Tape. Merry Christmas Commonwealth Family and Pets 🎄🎁🎁🎁🎁
Die Hard is TOO a Christmas movie. Not about the real meaning of Christmas, but a Christmas movie all the same.

Hey. I'm a Jets fan, so from experience, tell your daughter she's in for a lifetime of pain. I've been pulling for them since the 80s.
I often delist and sell similar items that I think should have sold by now and drop the price on them. It works better for me then doing mark down sales. Happy Holidays to you and your family!

My Go 2 Tape. Love all your videos and we wait with baited breath for one to be aired.
Every business that sells products does an inventory. Ebay resellers should do an inventory. Oh the mistakes and things you find. Do it!
I do believe in tweaking old listings but I don't like the sell similar. Die Hard. Using end and sell similar daily on about 10 items has worked well for me to move old inventory.
Do Inventory twice a year. Not alot of room so donate some bad buys. Delist and Sell Similar everyday!
Merry Christmas to the CWP family! 🌲
Merry Christmas to you too!
Die hard is definitely a Christmas movie!!!!!!
Die hard. I just finished a deep inventory audit and found 3 weeks worth of listings that were not active in my store!
