Thailand has very good value in term of quality for money, it is not cheapest place but hard to find in other places that have the same quality at this price.
I am totally agree with Mark. I just moved back to Thailand after 15 years in U. S and I realized that I was not belong there. Some bad people use their systems to bias me and my husband. I felt like I didn’t deserve it. BTW, welcome to Thailand 🇹🇭
You can do anything on this planet if you have money ,this guy clearly has money , how he made it is his business, he left the USA because he does not have to pay taxes on his Huge lump sum, a new passport for 130.000 , most folks would not save that in a lifetime .
I sold everything and moved from the US to Thailand with 3 suitcases a little more than 10 years ago. I'm still here and did a decent job of planning. However, Mark Hanna really did it right and is a much better planner than I was.
I finally made it to Paradise also known as Thailand. Crazy how much has changed, better transportation options, SRT to Don Mueng Airport, new extended BTS line, new MRT lines, what more can one ask for? Something around each corner. Great video Chris.
Happy for you 🙏 I miss Bangkok, I was there in 2006. Any tips on on staying there permanently without getting married, running a business or an elite visa? I know infinite border runs aren't a thing anymore. There's always teaching English for those that qualify but I'm curious if you know of anything else for an average Joe. Thanks!
Happy to hear you love being in Thailand. It is very common that young Thai people are helpful to older people. That is how Thai children are raised. Welcome to Thailand, my beloved country!
Well, Welcome to Thailand! You probably won't get to hear "Oh Mcdonald had a farm" anymore, but the Thai national anthem will serve you at 8.00 am and at 6.00 pm daily. I'm a citizen of Thailand who had lived in the US for 24 years. Funny thing the first item I owned in the US is a Glock 23. One day I thought I had seen enough of the US so I returned home. Many of my American friends have moved to Thailand for their retirement, and most of them now reside in Pattaya and Phuket. They all said they wanted to have a peaceful life. Well I think they've got it.
Sawatdee krub Rojer 🙏 I would love some advice from someone like you. Just a quick background I'm from California, hold a Bachelor's Degree, in my late 30s, and am interested in teaching English in Thailand. I visited the Land of Smiles back in 2006 and I miss it. My plan is to stay long term or even permanently. I can't afford an elite visa, and marriage is not on the horizon. Do you suppose it's possible to arrive in BKK with just a few thousand and securing a cheap apartment (~$300) and surviving off $1k USD teaching English? I don't drink alcohol or party, but I know much of my spending would be cheap street foods and coffee. Is it commonplace to begin teaching English initially but then move onto other ventures like business or E-commerce later on? I just like the idea of long term because coming back what be daunting considering the rising costs. California in my opinion is becoming uninhabitable for everyday earners. Thank you 🙏
Chris, I've gotta tell ya... I've always enjoyed your posts, those about sunny sandy beaches, and those featuring Thai street food and condo & resort living options. Your decision to include your lovely wife, your parents and your nephew really adds a nice personal touch. All as good as, but most better than the others out there in Thai blogger land. THIS one, however I believe is the clip I appreciate the most. It's hearing the truth spoken by a man who took that leap, and who was kind enough to sit and tell us his experiences, practically laying out a road map that leads us to the paradise that is Thailand. You Sir, are on to something bigger than all the rest, those tourist bloggers wo hit and run, and the other ones who have seemed to run out of any new material to share, who are now blogging from other Asian countries. From one Canucklehead to another... Thank You for what you do, and for the way you do it ! Cheers (Hope to make it to paradise to book a Chiang Mai tour in November)

Hi 👋 You seem to have experience living in Thailand and I'd like to know your thoughts if possible. Just a quick background I'm from California, hold a Bachelor's Degree, in my late 30s, and am interested in teaching English in Thailand. I visited the Land of Smiles back in 2006 and I miss it. Hundred percent the western world as gone to shit I've been in Thailand for just over a month now but I've been back and forth many times I speak read and write thai so it's easy for me here hundred percent agree the food is amazing here and everyone is so friendly so so easy to make new friends
I did similar, 24 and visited Thailand when I was 19 the first time, currently living in Chiangmai and also did the Saint Lucia citizenship program. I ended up giving my us citizenship up though, and started working helping others with the process to get second citizenships and generally life globally. Great vid as always Chris 🙏
@@insightwisdom7022 I've been to over a dozen countries for 3-6mo+ ea, Thailand has the best balance of quality of life for the price, friendliness, and access to goods, general lifestyle, etc. I'll likely move to another place, or travel a bit once my Muay Thai training/visa is finished, but I'll definitely be back. Only thing I don't like about Thailand is the timezone; it's horrible if you are involved in Finance & Consulting like I am.
Not actually sure what the 2nd passport has got to do with moving Thailand, unless I’m missing something. The US passport gives more benefits than other countries (e.g. business formation). Would have been better off using the money for a 20 year elite visa
A visa does not over ride your governments passport. If your government wants you to return to your country he will force you to return by cancelling your passport. He is concerned the US government will cancel passports in the event of the ensuing destabilization and wars happening around the world. Holding different passports and aligning with more peaceful nations won't affect any restrictions to future movement out of the US....very smart move if you ask me but if you trust what your government is doing to you then go ahead and only hold one passport
You're 100% right. St. Lucians can't even travel to Thailand without a visa like US citizens can. Now that he's there though, he can go to the US consulate and renounce his US citizenship and live in Thailand as a free St. Lucian! The US will not allow 'stateless' people to renounce.
There’s a lot of benefits, that’s why I got saint lucia citizenship as well, but in his case an elite visa would have been better. If you aren’t renouncing and plan to live in one country primarily like he seems to want to then it’s not really a must to pay for citizenship. But I mean it sounds like money isn’t a big issue for him, so if it makes him feel safer and more secure then I’m sure it was worth it…but he shoulda got an elite as well.
Basically what he as done, well he is in Thailand now, but what he saying is for any reasons the US bans its citizens from travelling anywhere or the USA loses relationships with any country like Thailand. He can still travel there because he as citizens ship with a Caribbean country too so he would use that passport he doesn't actually have thai passport.
Hahaha Mark's a hoot! Love that laugh when you asked him if he would ever experience the same customer service in Florida...😂. Also, some top life tips from Mark!

Thank you 🙏
thank you for showing thailand in good way, wellcome to thailand
Love this you guys 😊
Thank you and enjoy your time 🎉🎉welcome to Thailand 🇹🇭 😊😊
What a very interesting perspective. A slightly different video compared to the others. Thanks for the variety Khun Chris.
Good to see your content exploring the PT lifestyle.
On behalf of the Thai people, I would like to welcome all good foreigners with great pleasure.❤❤❤
ยินดีต้อนรับทุกคนขอให้ใช้ชีวิตในประเทศไทยอย่างมีความสุขสุขทั้งกายและใจตลอดไปนะคะ Thank you for love Thailand.🙏🙏🙏
Hundred percent the western world as gone to shit I've been in Thailand for just over a month now but I've been back and forth many times I speak read and write thai so it's easy for me here hundred percent agree the food is amazing here and everyone is so friendly so so easy to make new friends
❤❤❤ I love you 😊😅
This is a great informative interview
I did similar, 24 and visited Thailand when I was 19 the first time, currently living in Chiangmai and also did the Saint Lucia citizenship program.
I ended up giving my us citizenship up though, and started working helping others with the process to get second citizenships and generally life globally.
Great vid as always Chris 🙏
Too young to decide to live in the country not birthplace, anyway, of your choice. Why not try different ones other than Thailand.
❤❤❤
@@insightwisdom7022 I've been to over a dozen countries for 3-6mo+ ea, Thailand has the best balance of quality of life for the price, friendliness, and access to goods, general lifestyle, etc.
I'll likely move to another place, or travel a bit once my Muay Thai training/visa is finished, but I'll definitely be back. Only thing I don't like about Thailand is the timezone; it's horrible if you are involved in Finance & Consulting like I am.
Sorry, I thought I did already. ok I did it now. I always watch your video. As always, Thanks for the good info.
Best advice "Go where you are treated well"
I did it, moved here November 18 2021, and love it.
Probably no benefit. Sounds like he is a tin foil head conspiracy theorist. Definitely a republican.
Just came across this video and Mark is right, go live your best life where you are wanted
He is smart for treating the security crew with food there. They don’t forget that. Goes a long way.
😍😘 So much love Mark's song at the end ❤
Hahaha Mark's a hoot! Love that laugh when you asked him if he would ever experience the same customer service in Florida...😂. Also, some top life tips from Mark!
Briliant 👌 love it. Enjoyed watching !
Coming to Thailand in two days for the first time. Your channel played a big part in my decision. I am even thinking of full time living in Southeast Asia.
Be prepared for the onslaught.
Welcome to Thailand. We love you all.
Wonderful video again Chris, thanks Mark! I was already in the process for moving to Thailand in next 2 years from now. This video motivates me to get it done even sooner!
🇺🇸 CIA, NSA, and Mi6 are in Thailand to destabilize the country for war against China. Get ready to move back home! It's coming by 2025 fur major changes in Thailand.
Lovely story. Loved watching this. Mark is a legend!
I love this guy. what a character!
Mark said it perfectly, " I was sick of the West". Great video and excellent interview!!
"Go where your treated best"....... wise words and good advice
He spend 120k for a basically useless passport, but can’t spend 30k for a 20 year vip visa for Thailand?
Great interview!what a lovable guy!❤good one chris!
