TV Yellow Les Paul Jr. Doublecut……pure Johnny Thunders!!
One version of the 'TV yellow' story has it that white guitars were too bright under studio lights for the TV cameras of the day to cope with. Mustard yellow stayed within the cameras' usable contrast range. Sounds plausible to me.
I'm pretty sure that's a myth. The TV Model Junior was to promote the Les Paul and Mary Ford TV show and painted yellow like the standard television sets of the time. Les Paul would use it on said TV show.
Actually, I’ve heard that the tv yellow version was created as a kind of response of the first tele in that days
I honestly can't decide which of the cherry or TV yellow I like the most. Both are just killer.

White was to bright for B&W TVs, so the TV Yellow was used to get the right kind of white
Johnny thunders bought his double cut in the 70s for ~$300 adjusted for inflation and these cost more than 12x that :/
300 dollars was like 2000 or 4k back then

My dad bought his house in 1969 for $15,000, sold unrenovated $350,000 in 2014. Converse Allstars 1974 $15.00, today $60. Brand new King 2b trombone in 1977 $500, today $2700.
I'd kill for a 2019 dc junior tribute vs this custom shop. I wanna hear the difference!
It's not just the sound difference. The tribute has a think neck instead of the FAT 50's neck. Then again...it's 3 times cheaper :)

I’ve a dumb question. With a wrapped tail piece how do you get intonation set up or is that just something you deal with ?

Hey Mark and Joss. When i saw you guys in a video at first, Mark seemed a bit quiet and self entitled and Joss just seemed lame and unconcerned. But, ive been watching for a while now and I love your banter! Great playing and Tone. You guys make me want to pick up my guitars every time i watch a video. :)
cool is not the adjective I'd use for the look of a Junior, but why not? They look both '50 and somewhat punky...as the aural spectrum of the unique pick up from warm '50 rock sound to nasty agressive hum....'75 -'80 punkrock sound.
3K+ guitar demo with a f****** kemper?! every cheap epiphone would sound better with a good tube amp...
