I just bought the instant vortex mini cuz I'm an old guy and I live by myself and it will do just fine for small portions but I like the looks of this larger size for large quantities
This review is great! Really gave me a good sense of food capacity, how to operate the unit, and a practical cooking example. 👍🏾👍🏾I think I’m sold on this model to replace my recently deceased off-brand air fryer. Thanks!😊
I have the instant pot air fryer with the clear cook window in it and it’s great. You’ll be very happy with this model. It also got good reviews on America’s test kitchen.
Everything I've cooked in this unit has come out great ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB ! Everything tastes so good. Some of the recipes I've changed a little to improve the taste. For instance, for french fries which call for no oil, I spray them with olive oil and season them with salt and pepper. They come out great! It makes the best toast I have ever eaten. The recipe I use calls for lightly buttering both sides of the bread. It calls for cooking at 400 degrees for 5 minutes on one side and then 2 minutes on the other side. This time has a lot to do with the kind of bread you are using...so keep an eye on it. Also, the fans in this Ninja are a lot stronger than other air fryers. So lay a metal spoon or something on the bread to keep it from flying around. It's a little extra work to use your Ninja as a toaster but it is worth it!
I'm in Australia too. I bought one this week and found it very noisy and rattles a bit despite nothing being loose inside. Does yours do the same thing.
Thanks for the example on why I've started to hate this machine. You had to go through that forced preheat. And there's no way to use Reheat feature to bypass it unless you want lower temps. If they just let us do 400 on Reheat - we can avoid the Preheat issue. And if those wings weren't done enough for you, if cooking ended and you want more - you have to 'again' go through the forced preheat which removes the timer to where you can't calculate your cook time anymore. EDIT - Nevermind. I love my Vortex. I was needlessly fretting. LOL
I’ve had to cook certain items for a bit longer than expected. Because the fryer is already hot enough you don’t need to go through the pre-heat’ phase again.
I’m deciding between this Instant Vortex and a few Cosori models. Can you please explain why Lisa’s original comment about forced pre-heat is not a problem?
I have one and I have never had an issue with a plastic smell. Of course make sure to remove all of the packing material (I think there was a piece of cardboard that some people forgot to look for under the basket or something too) and soak the basket and tray in some soap and water for a moment. There are also additional comments with other cleaning suggestions. Hopefully if you get one, you will have a great experience. I LOVE mine so much that I bought one for each of my best friends.
I just bought one and had read the chemical smell problem. Before i used for the first time i of course washed the basket and grate in soapy water. Then i checked the interior surfaces of the cavity and noticed it was coated with a factory oil of some sort. I wiped down inside and had no problem
I just got my Instant Vortex Plus 6 in 1 6 quart Air Fryer today. I washed the basket, grate in hot soapy water, cleaned the entire insides including the element with hot, soapy water, and dried thoroughly, then did 2 test runs as recommended in the instructions. They said to do one, but I did 2. There was minimal smell after the first test run and none after the 2nd test run ! Then I did Barbecued Chicken Drumsticks on Air Fry at 400 degrees, for 10 minutes, turn them and applied barbecue sauced and let them cook for 2 more minutes. They came out done, and juicy ! There was no chemical smell, taste at all ! The whole house smells like barbecued chicken ! I can really say this is a great air fryer with no chemical smell, and cleans up well ! I recommend it !

Great video!
I recommend using a spray oil. Only a tiny bit needed.

Very nice I am happy my daughter loved it
Nice to the point video. Think I need one of these.
I am a big fan of the insta air fryers. Air Frying makes some great bacon!
Hi! may I know the temperature and time setting you use for bacon?
Great review, but just to be clear, Instant Pot is a “pot” that cooks under pressure. Instant Vortex is an air fryer
The brand is Instant Pot.
this item has been in my amazon wish list for like a month, i notice the new instant pot vortex plus look a bit different
Hazne kapağı kapatınca kapanma mekanızma kenarı plastik mi
I go recibe today my Vortex i m so exaited 😁😁😁
Because of you I’m buying this today 🥳👌🏼 thank you all the way from Australia x
I'm in Australia too. I bought one this week and found it very noisy and rattles a bit despite nothing being loose inside. Does yours do the same thing.
After adding the sauce, I would have put them back in for a couple minutes.
best air fryer ever in my experience.
Do i have to use the tray?
Does it smells of plastic in the first week?

@@sallywright8065 Makes sense. Anyway - I've switched gears and love my IP air fryer now. :)

@@htz70 Lisa here... It's not a problem :)
I love my Vortex 6. Looks good too.
@@karunald Good, because I just ordered mine, lol 😅
Anyway to turn those annoying ass beeps off?
Yes, when off hold time and temp buttons for 5 sec.
It is so well made and pleasing to the eye on your counter. Super easy to clean.
Can you shut the beeping off
Yes
Does this air fryer’s smell plastic when cooking?

That's a lot of beeping
Apparently you can turn off the beeping.
This model is recommended by America’s test kitchen. They reviewed a few air fryers and this was their winner.
I LOVE mine so much that I bought one for each of my best friends.
They get paid to say things are the best, that's the worst place to get reviews
@@zeetrain9625 That is not true; they often speak to the fact that they are not paid. And they havent steered me wrong yet.
I have read that it stinks to burnt plastic, is that true?
I experienced this for only the first warm up. It states that in the instruction booklet. Consider that a break-in.
Ummmmmmmmm, he didn't PREHEAT the AF before moving forward with the cooking process. 🤔
After a few years still gives out a chemical smell. This worries me.

@@ladyg1951 yeah, you really need to clean this fryer first. as you did.
@@1b1uster you à
Hi. I read that in amazon reviews some customers complain of plastic smell. Have you every felt something like that?
Yeah I bought the 4qt and it has a plastic smell
Did the smell go away?
Only for the first couple times I used it. No smell now.
Mine has this smell and it doesn't make me feel confident using it...
I'm hungry now!
How is cleaning?
Very easy but you should hand wash
Very easy. I hand wash. Easy to clean.
Should have dipped it hot sauce chicken wings
The video would be better if, towards the end, he showed us how he cleans the appliance rather than showing us his BBQ sauce.
Wasting oil in the pot, it never sticks.
Instructions warn against adding oil to the cooking surface. No need for oil. It is non-stick.
