I usually get glue across the entire fave of the board, completely missing the edge.
I'm sure you're joking 😆 Mind you, using a smaller applicator bottle could help in such circumstances.
@@mitchwoodwork I'm absolutely terrible with glue, I get it everywhere. I'm not sure why, I just seem to panic, which is very unusual for me, I'm ridiculously laid back. I liked the look of your bottle, is it an actual brand of glue, or just a bottle that you refill with a larger one?
It's a cheap bottle of pva that I refill. I like the applicator head on it for small or thin areas. I use a trade pva that comes in 500ml minimum and doesn't have a great nozzle.
I've also used washing up liquid bottles in the past. Well rinsed out of course 😆

Τhe worst offender I've seen on UA-cam is Mr "Kings Fine Woodworking". Unfortunately I can't locate the video where he literally says he's a firm believer in flooding things with glue, so the second best will have to do: ua-cam.com/video/xT6eHf3aDlk/v-deo.html, at

Certainly too much in my opinion, although to be honest plywood does such up more than solid. Even so, they seems to take an age to apply it all, and quite a lot was squeezing out.
one of the most stupid things i see is people putting glue on both pieces. of course the manufacturer will tell you that, you need to buy twice as much glue. i think the main reason for that is people watch youtube and generally only see amateurs making things and think thats how its done.
For sure, and it takes twice as long to apply like that, meaning complex glue ups are impossible within the open time of the glue.
