I hate it when I see comments people make being mean about someone who is older too 😞 I think they forget they too will be old one day and will face the same process. I find older models to be absolutely beautiful and they really do look amazing for their age. I can only hope my skin looks that good when I get there ☺️
Being nice and polite to everyone is a matter of culture and education! Young people tend to be too selfish especially now with socials! And yes, they will become old too or maybe not? Who knows if he lives long enough to be 50 r 60?? And that's a thing that youngsters forget!
Right?? Honestly it's as if they think they'll be the unicorn and won't EVER age beyond 30 or 40. Haha. Newsflash: barring any tragic occurrence in their lives, they WILL get older than their 30's or 40's and (gasp) will even be 'elderly' one day. So pls stop looking at older women through such terribly judgmental eyes ... because hello, you'll be one of those "older women" one day ... and it'll happen so much sooner than you realize!
As a 54yo female who spent her teens & 20's BAKING in the sun, I appreciate a Derm who speaks the TRUTH! I'm not trying to look 20 again, but looking great at 50 shouldn't be so difficult!!
Hi Ladies, same age. I agree I am not trying to look in my 20s either. But, we are Gen X and we have a lot to be proud of just because we survived the generation of being creative, taking care of ourselves as kids, and we deserve to be our best. Jennifer Aniston and this month JLO will both be 54!!! Oh and Kate Blanchett too! So we can be fabulous at any age. I am a college professor and I am around young people all the time. We have so much to teach them. We blazed the trails so younger women have more independent lives. And we were freer when in our youth then the kiddos are today. Grateful to be through that stage of life. Time for us to follow our dreams if you haven't already. Hugs to you. And the CO2 fraxel laser procedure seems to remove a lot of sun damage. I've seen women get it that have stunning new skin underneath. It's a thought. I'm considering it. No matter what know you are beautiful.
I am 63 next week with 45 years of multiple sclerosis experience. Lord knows, if I cannot walk well, I should be happy with the way I look. Amazing that I never had an appropriate skin care routine until now. Dr. Idress. I will keep watching as I am enjoying the education, given with spunk😂😉
She's not speaking the truth, she's pushing expensive products because she's getting commission on them. You just need to ask your dr for a tretinoin prescription, and then you can use any moisturizer you'd like (and afford) from the drugstore.
Thank you for this. As a 51 year old black woman, I've always heard the saying "black doesn't crack". But ofcourse it does. Genetics are big in the aging process. Skincare with a consistent routine is also important. I love your notion of your skincare shouldn't be based on your age but your concerns.
@@vanessam4980 loll thank you so very much. I was 50 in this photo. I do have a dedicated skincare routine as well a mother with little facial wrinkles. #grateful
Black don’t usually crack until much later in life for black people!!! However it can crease though when middle aged!!! Trust me I’m 50 & since turning 50 I’ve been fighting with a crease in the middle of my forehead when I frown, I’m trying desperately to massage it out 😂😂😂I got this from a skincare expert who claimed you can do this & it seems to be working but you do have to do it religiously!!!
You guys have flawless skin until 70 yo 😅 everytime I see a black woman in a store I can never say how old she is. They all look like at the end of 20s or the beginning of 30s. In my accounting class few years ago I was close friend with a black girl and she was in her mid 30s but she looked like 25 LITERALLY!!! Sad she moved away tho.
Would love a video about office procedures that address wrinkles, sagging, hyperpigmentation ect. Its difficult to sift through the sea of information out there. I like your honest, informed, educated, no nonsense approach to skin care.
This is great! It's also worth noting that those of us who grew up in the 70's and 80's we went to the beach with baby oil on our skin because we didn't have access to accurate information about the effects of UVB/UVA. We all wanted a "healthy"tan. Now we know how misguided that was.
80s baby here - I used to watch my Dad use 'tanning oil' at the beach instead of spf. My pale, Irish mother (who also happened to be a cancer nurse at the time) was always horrified by it. I'm pale like her and she used to cover me from head to toe. My Dad's mother used to go off at her for it and say my pale skin was nothing a few goes on a sunbed couldn't sort out 😱 So so glad my mum was having none of it.
I am in perimenopause and use hormone replacement therapy. I woke up in the middle of the night, had depression, eye inflammation etc etc etc. I feel so much better now and am happy that this decreases the risk of cardiovascular disease and many others. The fact that it also helps how my skin looks is a nice benefit.
I didn’t realize a lack of estrogen was contributing to my hollowness and jowling and not just dry skin! 🤦🏻♀️ Thank you so much for the info! More pre and post menopausal info please. 💜
I’ve always had bad skin, especially acne, and I was tired of trying all the expensive stuff. The subliminal affirmations on borlest have honestly been the one thing that’s made a real difference. My skin feels so much better now.
If there's no reason against it for you, get on estrogen replacement therapy! If your doctor isn't supportive (& again, there's no solid reason specific to you that makes it unsafe for you personally) then find a different doctor who's more up to date that ma y women can take it and someone younger would especially benefit. Good luck.
Would love a breakdown of procedures for double chin/jawline tightening. Thank you for always showing up incredibly prepared for each video and for positively transforming my face. I'm four years into your recos and I look better than ever!

Some of us are over 60 and what about us??? In my 50s I was OK. After 60, I notice the skin getting thinner and looser. Obvious even for people who look 20 years younger
Thank you for this on my 68th birthday! Perfect timing! If someone could formulate skin care to fix the sagging they would be my hero and a millionaire. By the way don't worry about your cussing, it makes you even more real. I love you!
Thank you for this great information. Even at 71 years old really appreciate this information. Wish I'd had this in my 50's but better late than never.
I’m in my 50’s, dealing with melasma and became a skin nerd. Good thing, I’ve discovered you and learned so much from your vlogs. I have been using your skincare line plus retinol and hydroquinone. I’m looking forward to watch you vlog on cosmetic procedures that are appropriate for women in their 50’s.
I am 72 years old, and I was a big sunbather all my life. I had a suntan every summer, using the sun and tanning beds. I never even wore sunscreen. So I had major damage to my skin! I had wrinkles, brown spots, and red scaly spots. I was really SICK of using a LOT of makeup, so I decided to do something about my skin. Over the last two months I had two fraxel laser treatments, to "start over" and then began using sunscreen every day, even indoors. I'm also using hydraquinone and retinol every night. What a huge difference this is making! I am now using just minimal makeup, and I feel I look 15 years younger. It is never too late to start good skincare. ❤
I'm turning 50 in a couple of months and dealing with a bit of saggy skin in my neck, arms, and inner tights. I would love a video of skin products that can also be used in your body (for aging and hydration). I don't like using many products because is hard for me o keep up with a regimen. Thanks, Dr. Idriss, for doing this video
Yeah! This is my video! I am in my 50’s! Dealing with hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, and menopause! Thank you for making these videos! Love all your videos! I do wash my face twice a day, but I have combo oily skin. I rehydrate my skin with essence or moisturizer.
Orchid see my comment. Get on HRT. Not what Big Pharma offers. Find a doctor that specializes in bio identical. Dr wolf in Orange CA does video consults. Good luck! I’m 68. Started during peri menopause after finding out what was about to happen to my body at 48. Also helps with bone density
@lisaaustin4561 I started BHRT at 50 before menopause.. And at sixty one I don't even know if i've gone through it yet.. I will be on it for as long as I can.. Suzanne Sommers was a big influence.. I live in Southern California. And I go All the way to Scottsdale AZ just to see my doctor.. It's hard to find a good one.. I may check yours out..😉
I'm 53 and definitely would love a video of procedures (botox, laser, etc) with the risks as well. Also curious what long term filler use does to the skin and face
This was would be great as there is a limit to what skin care is doing for me. I really want to do undereye surgery as they seems to be the area that I feel could really help me look more rejuvenated. Friends have gotten it and look fantastic.
I don't think you should worry about profanity. It keeps things real. Not only do you give us good info, but you keep life real - be it with profanity or the interruptions from your family, etc. For me - all that gives you credibility and keeps you authentic vs other derm youtubers who get over-produced and over-studio-ed. Thanks as always for the good education.
@@lizzpichner1577 I have learned a lot from Dr. Idriss. I think she is incredibly knowledgeable, authentic, and likeable, and really doesn't need profanity to come across that way. I prefer not to hear it. It is totally unnecessary. She's great no matter what.
A much more adequate dupe of SK II is the Missha's Time Revolution essence. Missha and SK II belong to the same parent company and it is basically identical. Only Missha is 25 euros, not a 100.
@@kckc4955 I never tried the SK II (I haven't lost my mind to spend that much on skincare) so I cannot compare. But I've been using on and off the Missha one and I loved all editions so far. I am just about to finish a bottle. BUt it's one of the products that you think "it doesn't do much" when you are using it. And then, when you finish the bottle and go a week or two without and then you notice the difference :D
@@maggiebar77Yes! Ive been using Jin Jung Sung for nearly a year and have realized absolutely as good of results as i had with SKII. Its a marvelous serum!☮️💜
Dear Dr. Idress ❤ thank you ♥️ I am a 26 year old women, BUT due to severe chronic illness, I have not had a period in over a decade. My estrogen is at the level of a post menopausal woman… this was so informative. My lack of estrogen definitely must be why I am already seeing such fine lines so young 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💗💗💗
Thank you! Please address 60+ as well, we are not dead yet and are interested in what you gave to say. Your 30 years old all have mothers so they should listen to your advice. Also, please recommend the products for each condition.
Yes! It’s so important to take care of your skin on your face and all over your body at this age. So often “50plus” is all thrown in together. I think that has historical ageist roots ( toward women) and it shouldn’t be the case .The skin is different.
Thank you so much for this. I'm 52 and went through surgical menopause. 1 year later I'm feeling and seeing the effects of no ovaries and no estrodial and estriol. Thankfully, I have been on top of my skincare for 20 years and seeing a medical esthetician for procedures for 5 . Your work on social emdia and your products have been a fantastic addition.
Interesting that ppl dont/ didnt see or understand that estrogen / hormone loss causes the loss of firmness and elasticity etc. Changed my skin a lot, especially after my 3rd yr into menopause and I cant take HRT. Spent all my years in the sun until last 5 or so yrs...I need a deep plane lift lol but thats not happening so now I do the best I can with skincare and diet. Enjoy your life. God Bless
Yes gurrll...!!! I'm 57 and was a lifeguard for 20 years...from 16 to 36...ugh! Did not wear sunscreen. BUT, over the last 10 years, I've been wearing sunblock, using tretinoin, and am planning to invest in a red light therapy mask soon. My good genetics mean I have thick, non dry skin that doesn't really wrinkle...but the sun damage has been massive. Excellent video, thanks...!!
Don’t forget nutrition. Research shows most indigenous worldwide pre contact were much healthier incl teeth and skin then Europeans. We can’t live as they did but can be inspired. “Eat (real) food. Not too much. Mostly plants.” - Michael Pollan
Your beautiful, inside and out! I'm 50 years old and you make me feel beautiful just listening to you. I've learned so much from you! Please keep going for us!!!
I just began watching your videos, and I so appreciate your honesty. Although, I’m a little overwhelmed with the quantity and the prices of these recommended products, which I could never afford. 😢 I am 55 years old and have been using moisturizers, serums, sunscreen, peptides, etc., for many years, but I just want to find a simpler and more affordable regimen that contains the main ingredients. Thanks so much for all you are doing to educate individuals on what is/is not needed.
I love your Ted Talk! I’m in my 50’s and loved the A&P skin lesson! First time here, if you don’t mind a suggestion, make sure not to bounce the products when you show them to the screen. It’s hard enough to read in our 50’s without the words moving. 😂 Cuss all you want and keep speaking the truth! Love it!
Yes! Please create videos on procedures. There’s so much out there and a bit confusing. I know you’ll do an amazing job on educating us nerds on where to invest, as opposed to throwing away our bucks! Sending big hugs! ❤
After watching this video, I feel empowered to take control of my skincare routine and address the changes that come with aging. Thank you, Dr. Idriss, for your guidance and expertise!
Thanks for this video. I'm 50 with rosacea and new products make me nervous, especially of they're expensive. I've always looked really young for my age until perimenopause hit and I aged 10 years in 2! So if you're not there yet ladies still watch this video!! Be prepared before it comes.
I’ve had all kinds of skin issues, from dryness to redness, but after trying the subliminal affirmations on borlest, my skin has become so much healthier and balanced. I’m really impressed!
Good morning what a great video . I’m 62 and live in a country with lots of sun and heat . You are soooo inspiring thanks for addressing older people too. If I ever get to New York I will definitely come to your office for a consultation. Have a great day ❤
Here's the thing. I'm not sure what my "biggest" skincare issue is. I am old enough (postmenopausal) to have several. Roseacea, fine lines & wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, breakouts...😊 So I treat them all, but as sensitive skin. If I don't treat my skin as supremely sensitive, then my skin suffers in all areas. I think I might have answered my own question 😂
I remember she mentioned cases like this in previous videos. She used to advise to treat 1-2 concerns at a time. But with rosacea I do advise treating your skin as sensitive skin
Thank you! Whenever I try an ‘anti-aging’ product, strange things happen to my skin. I’m happy to know that I can forgo them in the future! Please continue with a discussion of office procedures! I am 57, and I don’t so much recognize myself in the mirror. Cheers!
53 and have all the 5 things you mentioned. While I was dismayed at them, the sensitivity was a real surprise. I had to adjust my routine and take away some actives- if I have very active ingredients in every step my skin goes bonkers. Through trial and error, adding tretinoin, vitamin c and peptides my skin is looking so much better and I’m looking more like myself again.
I am new to your channel and I love your honesty, could do w/ out the swearing but you do you..Boo!❤ it doesn't take an professional to know you are very knowledgeable of the subject. Thanks for helping me understand my skin.
Thanks for this. I was blissfully going along with a great complexion and only a few forehead lines. Then, in the span of 2 years, my mother died, I officially hit menopause, and I lost 80 pounds to fight Type 2 diabetes. I no longer look like I could be mistaken for 10 years younger! I noted your advice for necks as I have those vertical muscle lines.
I appreciate a smart professional woman with the mouth of a sailor. I am grateful for the tips and looking up the products as you rapid fire them in your video. I am a public school teacher (because of my obvious poor life choices when I decided this over law school) but I normally do a 'high-low' approach to most things/products. The puffy/red eyes are my serious concern at 55, the moisture and discoloration is next. I pretty much have always looked significantly younger (like decades)until the past 3 years and Covid when menopause and sweatpants took over my life. I am glad I found your videos! I will watch more and decide what to splurge and what to save on. Thank you!
I love that you’re educating people on skin and how much it changes as we experience different stages of life, all while displaying your fun and amazing sense of humor! I appreciate your videos❤️
I have a quick question. I’ve always wondered about anti-aging serums/creams made by Luxury Brands like Chanel, Dior, Estee Lauder, Lancome, La Mer and so on. Are these really good? Is there real merit behind their proprietary ingredients? I would really love it if you had the time to either make a video about them or even just refer to them in one of your videos ( I watch them all, so I won’t miss). I really want to know if they are worth splurging!! Thank you again for everything! 🙏🏼❤️
I've been watching your videos for a couple months, and I love that every time I click on a new video, I can see that the number of your subscribers has grown. Thank you for all the info you share, it's much appreciated. Wishing you all the best, you really deserve it.
Found you a week ago and have been catching up on all of your content- love your expertise, direct communication and your style! Would love to see videos on the following - 1. Difference between peptides and growth factors and when to use each. 2. Scalp health - I recently moved to Utah and had hair growth issues and had started using Rogaine. That combined with with trentinoin, hard water and the dry climate created scalp issues for the first time in my life that I cannot remediate! Thanks!!!
Honestly, my skin has never looked this good. Whether it was breakouts or rough texture, the subliminal affirmations on borlest helped smooth everything out. It’s amazing how much has changed!
Video and/or Short suggestion - TEWL, what it is exactly and how to prevent it or work with it around it. Thank you for all of your helpful videos. You’re very relatable and it’s comforting.
Luckily, I have been following you for a minute, so I have most of the products you listed and have been using them consistently. Turning 50 on the 24th of August! I am looking forward to this new decade of my life! 💪🏽👏🏽
THANK YOU for this video!!!! I just turned 50 and everything out there talks about skin care for your skin and Nono e talks about 50+ truly enjoyed this video.
Why is the Garnier micellar water bad? I use it and I like it. I have really sensitive skin and the Bioderma cleaner for sensitive skin gives me a rash, but the micellar water I use from Garnier cleanses nicely and doesn't irritate my skin. But now I want to know why Bioderma micellar water is better.
I have to put my two cents in .. Finally helping us older women !! I use Pillow Talk Derm products and they are the best. I cannot appreciate the Doctors advice here enough along with her product recommendations. If I did not live 3K miles away I would be in her office as a patient! 😊💖👍
You're my favorite derm on UA-cam! Thank you for being informative and entertaining. I would love to hear more about hair loss treatments for women after menopause including any info on Calecim.
Thank you Dr.Idriss for this ! Your summary of the changes we see post menopausal are spot on . I love using your serum and moisturizer everyday but the sagging is honestly most distressing for me. I would so appreciate any content inclusive of in office procedures that you could share for your many past 50s followers . I’ve been wishing for this one for a long time , many thanks ! ❤
I’ve been using a red light mask in combination with the NuFace facial toning device, Tria at home laser, and gua sha. I’m 51 with no jowls, no wrinkles, little hyperpigmentation, BUT I do have hollowed under eyes due to loss of collagen. The carnivore diet has helped with my menopausal symptoms along with progesterone cream ( the natural kind, you Do Not want to use the pharma type). I might get 1 mild hot flash a week if so. My sleep is great and my weight is going down slowly when before no matter what I did it kept creeping up. Good luck on your journey
@@mic1979-o9d your response is so kind . Best of luck to you also. Actually at 51 people still had me at 15 or so years younger than my real age . I have always taken good care of my skin and health but saw I real loss of fullness and loss of firmness in the lower face as the clock ticks forward over the past three years ( presently 67) my local dermatologist stated very positively on my skin and told me to keep doing whatever I’m doing but it’s these two issues that are more difficult to deal with . I’ve been thinking about red light therapy as I used Nuface for over 2 years with absolutely no results . Thank you again .
Thank you Dr Shereene - for me personally, this is your best video yet (next to retinol video). Wish I could give it 1000 thumbs up!!!! At 53 with hooded eyelids and deep smile lines, i have tried many products to address them but seems products will not address these issues....loved your analogy of the couch. Makes it very easy to understand, where we should be targeting our focus for the results we need. Thank you so much. Looking forward to the procudres video and would love to see a video on breadown on product comparisons....you piqued my interest when you said Bioderma over Garnier....i thought all micellar water was the same 😮
You are SO incredibly, generously gracious in sharing your expertise!! Thank you!! Having followed you for almost 3yrs and now using your products and followed any relevant suggestions, my skin is as good as it can be. I’m definitely at the structural stage and would be VERY interested in videos on your recommendations for in-office procedures.
I recently ordered your entire line of products and the face wash is the best I’ve ever tried! At night in one step it removed all of my make up and sunscreen. I’ve never tried a face wash that did that in one step except for ivory bar soap which leaves my face feeling clean but can be drying. But your face wash got my face completely clean and felt very soft after. Thx! I wish your price points were more affordable so I probably cannot afford to repurchase your products but I might just budget for the wash.
Such an informative video and I am in my 50s and in full menopause and omg can I say I felt like my skin changed literally overnight. Dehydrated, melasma, age spots, itchy, the list goes on and I cried for about a week as I live in a very sunny warm location so it is so hard to stay out of the sun unless I become a vampire. I will be definitely getting on to these products. Love the vids
Hello, thanks for such a great and informative video. It gets frustrating trying so many things that don't work, so a heads-up on great products is a bonus. A video for in-office procedures for the 50+ menopausal sag, loss of bone structure and wrinkles AND discoloration ( geez- there are so many things to tackle now) would be GREAT :) Thank you for all you do!
I just turned 60 on Feb 1st and I’ve always been fairly obsessive over my skin. My skin care routine takes an hour in the morning and an hour at night. I don’t have wrinkles and have very good skin. However, I’m starting to get jowls and I really hate it. I saw a plastic surgeon and he strongly recommended that I not have a face lift. Said the scars would overshadow the benefits. Anyhow, I have every facial device on the market and I’m working hard to minimize the jowls. Will revisit the face lift situation in the next year or two. Thanks for the skin care recommendations. I did purchase a few of them.
I’m so happy I stumbled on your channel. I’ve been trying your suggestions and learning what works and what doesn’t for my skin. I’m in my 50’s post menopause and since I’m in the last third of my life - I’m trying to make it best the best years of my life inside and out. I will be a subscriber need for life. ❤
One thing that is never mentioned in skin care videos is hormone replacement therapy. I have been on it for 14 years because my husband is a dermatologist, and it truly is very helpful in keeping the skin from sagging yet got a really bad rap for people in their 60's and 70's. Physicians are afraid to order it because of the lawyers. So many were deprived of it and have the sagging skin because they were told from a 2002 study from NIH that it causes cancer. Cancer is caused from carcinogens! Estrogen can feed cancer but does not cause it. Anyway, something to think about.
I've heard this and asking my (new) doctor about it in a few weeks. I've had NP's because of a doctor shortage and this lady one told me a few weeks ago 'I'm not comfortable talking about that'! I'm hoping to get on to both HRT and tretinoine. At a derm skin check the young doc simply said 'the damage is already done,' and I know there are things like tretinoine I could use. So frustrated with the medical system where I am. Shortage of doctor's, dentists, and veterinarians!
I have ovarian cancer. I have a genetic brain. I have not been thinking about hrt but the next appointment I have I plan to ask if it contributed to the rapid cancer growth.
@@JS-mh1fh because of an NIH study back in 2001, it's hard to get HRT. The book "Sex, lies, & menopause" goes into that. They pass out BCP's like candy, but HRT is taboo! So frustrating!
@@bethfitmarriagebibleprophe4702 I'm aware of the study, and have recently learned that too many have outdated or knowledge that isn't nuanced to know there has been other information since that time, and it depends on how this one study is read.
I ❤️skincare. Although these days, with groceries and everything else being so expensive, I can’t justify the investment in expensive skincare products any longer. I wish there were comparable items for a fraction of these.
there are. you just have to do the research to find them. cosrx, the ordinary, loads of brands without the mark up. whatever it is you cant afford just google a dupe for it. chances are there is one.
Korean skincare has tooons of essences with galactomyces, which is essential the same thing as pitera, its just not patented. They all range from $10-$25 in a largw bottle, and stylevana has bunches!😊

Thank you, Dr. Idriss, for this incredibly informative video! I wanted to share how red light therapy has improved my skin. At 46, people often mistake me for being much younger, thanks to using a red light therapy panel from Future Form Official. My dermatologist recommended it for its affordability and effectiveness. Since incorporating it into my routine, I've seen a significant improvement in my skin’s complexion and a reduction in wrinkles. There’s a lot of scientific evidence backing red light therapy, and I’m thrilled with my results. Your advice has made a huge difference in my skincare journey-thanks again!
I am 74....all I can say is use sunscreen religiously....I use sunscreen on my face and torso - year round, and cover up from the sun with long sleeves and stylish hats year round...this was a very informative video....I also use specific serums and skin care....thank you for the information in this video....
I love your approach- real, raw and to the point ! No sugar coating! As a 52 year old with hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, weaning off hormone replacement after hysterectomy (facing menopause) and life stressors… my skin is really showing my age. Currently on tretinoin but this video opened my eyes and explained why these products are important for preservation. I hate to say the amount I have spent on potions and products (sucker for all the promises in ads 🫣). But seeing you knowledge exude gives me hope. THANK YOU!
The rapid aging and acne took me by surprise, as did all the hair growth on my face and and hair loss in my scalp and in my brows. I'm still on a 1/35 bc pill, too, so I'm getting estrogen and progesterone, but I think my testosterone is out of whack. I'll be talking to my new GYN soon about my options, as this all started at 48 when I had to drop down from a 1/50 pill to a 1/35 pill for safety reasons (a lower dose of estrogen). It sucks.
I am sixty. My whole routine is sunscreen in the morning and a no brand moisturizer in the evening, with urea, panthenol and glycerin. Very cheap. No makeup. I think I look my age. I am happy enough with the fact.
As a 57yr old. I thank you for this video. I don’t look my age, but it isn’t flawless either. My biggest vice is sugar, along with premenopausal. Thank you Dr. Idriss.
Wow, that was a bit overwhelming! I’ll have to watch again to take it all in. It seemed like a lot of those were quite pricey. I get it, you get what you pay for, but I’d like to see a video on the more budget friendly products like Cerave (I currently use their tinted mineral sunscreen.) or The Ordinary. Thank you for your great, informative Chanel.
I’ve been using the DefenAge 8-in-1 serum for the past month and holy cow! It has transformed my skin. I’ve been experimenting with skincare for over a decade and turned 50 this year. Aside from my Curology retinol, this serum has smoothed my skin and my rosacea has completely calmed down. Definitely worth the money. I haven’t tried Pillowtalk Derm brand but it’s on my list ✨
Its about time to focus on us women who are wiser than wise 😆 Thank you, Dr Shereen - So true, I am 60 and ppl have said that I look younger, thank my mother for her beautiful skin, but she had a gorgeous complexion well into her 70's. I swear, that woman spent time in the sun and I don't remember seeing any skin damage. I have tiny spots and some small areas of rosacea... my mother passed in 2019, may she rest, but she would preach to me when I was 25 to start using moisturizers. Don't recall that sunscreen was so popular at that time or if it was even around lol anyway, I hope to purchase this skincare line in the near future. As always, appreciate all of this content. Much love from the Bay area of California ❤
I been looking at your videos for over 3 years .I really appreciate your insight on skin care .You are so passionate about the science of skin care, I thank for all your suggestions and knowledge in skin .Thank shreene for keeping real😂
I ❤ Karma!
Just be who you are and don’t worry about anything else! Do the best you can and that’s it!
Not everyone gets the privilege of getting old!
As a 54yo female who spent her teens & 20's BAKING in the sun, I appreciate a Derm who speaks the TRUTH! I'm not trying to look 20 again, but looking great at 50 shouldn't be so difficult!!
Same, 54 born and raised in Southern California. I can't reverse that, I just want to look my best.
It wasn't. At 60, however, um there was a horrible change and the collagen decreases and skin gets thinner. Crap.
Totes!!! Ty! ✌🏽🌸x
if that’s 51 yr old you in your profile pic, black really doesn’t crack 🥲
My neighbour still fries in the sun with baby oil 😳😂
I am in perimenopause and use hormone replacement therapy. I woke up in the middle of the night, had depression, eye inflammation etc etc etc. I feel so much better now and am happy that this decreases the risk of cardiovascular disease and many others. The fact that it also helps how my skin looks is a nice benefit.
“Age is not a skin type” hope this phrase catches on ❤

I’ve always had bad skin, especially acne, and I was tired of trying all the expensive stuff. The subliminal affirmations on borlest have honestly been the one thing that’s made a real difference. My skin feels so much better now.
As someone going through premature menopause and aged a ton overnight, thank you 😢

THANK YOU
Some of us are over 60 and what about us??? In my 50s I was OK. After 60, I notice the skin getting thinner and looser. Obvious even for people who look 20 years younger

Try mini bear from foreo. To me a life changing.
My skin really started changing in my 60’s! It definitely has been menopause! 67 now and I really enjoy your videos 🦋
I'm turning 50 in a couple of months and dealing with a bit of saggy skin in my neck, arms, and inner tights. I would love a video of skin products that can also be used in your body (for aging and hydration). I don't like using many products because is hard for me o keep up with a regimen. A much more adequate dupe of SK II is the Missha's Time Revolution essence. Missha and SK II belong to the same parent company and it is basically identical. Only Missha is 25 euros, not a 100.

I am a 26 year old women, BUT due to severe chronic illness, I have not had a period in over a decade.
Also, please recommend the products for each condition.
it s the same as for 50.
in reality starting from 40 is all the same approach
@@Sky10811exactly. As she said, age is not a skin type. Gear your skincare to your needs/issues.
This advice applies to all ages… which she explains at the beginning of the video…it’s about your skin issues more than your age. ❤️
Are you getting hormone replacement therapy?
Please look into Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, you need estradiol in your body for so many things to prevent disease.
hrt has been a game changer for me.

Cuss all you want and keep speaking the truth! Love it!
I would love for you to take a deep dive on cosmetic procedures for jawline, loose/crepe skin in the neck and chest. Thank you!
Oh man! Thank you for this! Menopause killed my skin! I’m just now finding a regime that’s working for me.
Same 😂
I remember she mentioned cases like this in previous videos. She used to advise to treat 1-2 concerns at a time. But with rosacea I do advise treating your skin as sensitive skin
Bentonite clay for Roseacea mix in 8oz water drink and face mask
Thank you! Whenever I try an ‘anti-aging’ product, strange things happen to my skin. I’m happy to know that I can forgo them in the future! Please continue with a discussion of office procedures! I am 57, and I don’t so much recognize myself in the mirror. Cheers!
sport is super important it helps with hormones and collagen
53 and have all the 5 things you mentioned. While I was dismayed at them, the sensitivity was a real surprise. I had to adjust my routine and take away some actives- if I have very active ingredients in every step my skin goes bonkers. Through trial and error, adding tretinoin, vitamin c and peptides my skin is looking so much better and I’m looking more like myself again.
What brands do you use!
Thank you!
I’m 56, and I sure wish my skin would become more dry! Over time, I’ve gone from oily to normal, but my skin can easily be over-stimulated to oily.

Thx!

I don’t understand why u have to used bad language. You are a professional. I said this to you with respect that all respect that everyone desert.
@@india1422 they won't treat with history of cancer because hormones do promote cancer growth in existing cancer. So sorry.
They all range from $10-$25 in a largw bottle, and stylevana has bunches!😊
do u know cheaper dupe for Hada Labo Skin Aqua Milk spf50+?
@@Sky10811 im not sure of this one, but if you are looking for a natural finish (not shiny or matte), I highly recommend the isa knox uv sun pro fluid (a little pricey for korean spf, but comes with a large and a small bottle for a total of 170 ml, or nearly 6 oz). I also love the purito daily soft touch sunscreen & the bellflower avacado moisture sunscreen. Hygee vegan sunscreen dries down very natural too!
i dont buy Purito sunscreens after the scandal with their sunscreen couple of years ago
@@emmamcconnell-ts3ov thank you, i will look into them
@@Sky10811 I completely understand the hesitation!! This has actually been the case for other us sunscreens and international spf as well, but the reaspn I personally feel confident using purito is they do additional 3rd psrty testing and publish the findings! Dr. Ellis and Dr. Idriss both feel bery confident in their new formulations due to the extra testing with published 3rd party tests. Its completely up to you though! I also know rovectin has a few incredible spfs. Have you tried the biore skin aqua in the blue tube? It has alcohol, but is a beautiful formula. Face republic purity sun essence, haru haru wonder black rice moisture airfit, ans thank you farmer sun project skin-relief sun cream are amazing formulations as well
I enjoy your videos, very informative. I do have a request however; when you hold a product up for the camera, please try to hold it steady for a moment or two longer so that we can get a really good look at it. 😊 Thank you 🙏
Thank you Shereene! Your advice and product recs are incredible. Love you and the content of your clips. I’m hooked on pillowtalk derm products❤. Next is office visit.
Would love advice on the lasers for tightening and treating age spots that are resistant to all the serums potions lotions.
Seriously i follow you because your choice of language makes you more real.
That's the bonus!! ❤
THANK YOU!
The sofa analogy is so helpful. I always had nice skin, but now I am 54 and have acne rosacea, sagging, hollow eyes. 😩
Yes!!! Please do a video on in office treatments for 50s
I really admire the way she blends high-end and affordable brands for many of us.
I don’t know if you’ve made it yet. But if not, Yes please we want a video on cosmetic procedures for mature skin! 🙏🏼
When you hold up a product, could you please hold it still? Bouncing it up & down in front of the camera kind of defeats the purpose.
Yes...I was trying to see what the 2nd sunscreen with photolyase was! Pls lmk!
All you have to do is pause the video when she’s holding it up…and you can see what she’s holding without the moving..
The products are usually in the description of the video.
Thank you for your perspective on this topic. Please continue on with this topic as a part 2…cosmetic procedures, etc
