I had the 360 version. I was 9 when this game came out and I still remember the instant regret of paying $60 when I played it. I don't think I ever made it through a full race without flipping uncontrollably.
The one thing I hate about the rewind feature in the Eutechnyx game, most of the time, the game glitches and you don't finish where you actually did. For example: you finished 1st, the game says you finished 5th or last.
On ps2, does (or did) anyone else have an issue with dominating Daytona in the truck series? I have the game on the hardest difficulty and in my rookie year, I was pulling away from the entire field by 6 full seconds, yes you read that correctly, I even constantly slowed down and hitting the wall just so everyone else can catch up but I would still pull away as if drafting was just a suggestion
I did a race in NASCAR 08 for the xbox 360 and it was really fun, using #11 Denny Hamlin to lead all 96 laps against 2 other drivers at night race Daytona. Thankfully I did not wreck because when you wreck in that version of NASCAR 08 the car seems to flip and barrel roll like 6 times every time you crash.
I remember getting NASCAR 08 on the 360 in the summer of 2008 (god, saying that makes me feel old); I graduated elementary school and got it as a parting gift. While I never completed a race, I actually loved this game. The crashes and physics were pretty groundbreaking at the time, and I had spent so many hours creating epic crashes. Good times.
The huge turn off for me with 08 on the PS2 was AI rubber banding. Even on the highest difficulty i could be going 220mph at Talladega and still struggle to keep up or pull away from them. As a test i drove at like 160mph and the AI all slowed down to match my speed. Trying to lap cars is nearly impossible at times. As soon as you get close they get a speed boost. You might as well slow down so they slow down and use their draft to make up ground.
I like the idea of Medallions, but the problem with Medallions is that most of the chase plates cannot be bought by spending them. You have to master every track to unlock almost all chase plates. I can see why they did that as far as automatic pole position chase plates along with Infield fantasy tracks, but it makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE with the fantasy drivers and unlockable cars. If anything, the fantasy drivers and cars should be unlocked by spending Medallions instead of mastering 2 tracks (8 Races).
They left in the european versions of NASCAR 08 and NASCAR 09 the Number #5 Kelloggs car of Kyle Busch out. Don't exactly why, believe it cause licensing issues.
I remember getting the ps2 version on my 8th birthday I thought I liked it but I still hate it!!!! It’s a good thing I sold it years later... NASCAR thunder 2003, thunder 2004, chase for the cup, dirt to Daytona and 07 are still my favorite NASCAR games for the ps2. I still play NASCAR rumble and NASCAR unleashed... what sucks in NASCAR 08 is when you qualify and get dead freaking last!!!!!!
I had the ps2 version and had a pretty good time Not a thunder 04 good time But I liked it Then 2 years ago I got the ps3 version and played it for 5 minutes took the disk out then sold it the week after
i have this game for the 360, and i crash every single damn race, i wish the tires aren't made of plastic EDIT: i for some reason got a black flag pit on the damn restart AAAAAAAAGGGGHHHH I HATE THIS GAME
Dull graphics, horrible physics, annoying opponents. This game was supposed to be a treat for PS3 gamers and a big generation leap for Electronic Arts, but it was a big disappointment and a misfire in the end. After this, EA went to what they are infamously known for: DLC and Microtransactions.

And they said that the CoT was safer.

I played NASCAR 08 for years, never found the team control panel lol

Man, i want a review of the ATV Offroad Fury series...
Great work on this review though.

@sms1480 actually yes it does glitch most of the time like 9/10% of the time its happened to me on both Xbox 360 and PS3
There was also that glitch in Eutechnyx NASCAR game where in the replay, all of the cars would stay put while spinning their wheels.
I like flipping in the PS3 version of NASCAR 08. And also flipping, too.
Lol in the PS2 version on the Texas Infield I'd used to bump into other cars at a tight turn and they'd just explode
There is a very fun way to flip at dover in 08,
@@mandude03VideosYT My brother did that and then he forgot how to do it.
5:35 reed Sorenson simulator (get it because he got the boot when he could have won an xfinity championship)
This was the second NASCAR game to have the rewind feature.
i had that in the script but i was too lazy to make the joke.
NASCAR on PSP (NASCAR 07 but on PSP)

jc1424 such a shame that band/song has little recognition

Will you review any of the NHRA Games?!

Will you do a heat 2 review
Nah
The really weird thing is that in the busch series there are two 16 cars which were Todd Kluever and Greg Biffle.
9:41 Kyle Larson was in 08. Was he a kid in the modified series or was this a update to include other drivers?
Oh you were Kyle Larson LOL
I remember Nascar Racing 1999 Edition by Papyrus has mid race saves. Heard that iRacing is doing the next Nascar game and I'm looking forward to it.

1:16 ever tried pressing the L3 / R3 button, by pressing this button it shall bring up the teammate menu
Tony Stewart was the cover driver for 2004 and 08. Only 4 years apart. Why did he get 2 covers?
3 covers you mean? He was also on the cover of nascar 14.
@@kcmorailfan4784 I forgot about that. I didn't play that game honestly maybe that's why.
Tony Stewart is now the cover guy on the NASCAR Heat 5 Gold Edition

Serpentining is a real word which means to move or lie in a winding path or line thanks google
In my NASCAR 08 there is no Kyle Busch or Carl Edward. How that's possible ?
That's weird, Kyle Busch should be in the game.
He is. it's just EA's strict development cycle
They left in the european versions of NASCAR 08 and NASCAR 09 the Number #5 Kelloggs car of Kyle Busch out. Don't exactly why, believe it cause licensing issues.
The AI in this game would always glitch and run 39s/40s laps for some reason. I would try to do the same but the fastest lap I got was like 42s

Why do you like Truex?
Angel Galvez martin
How do you fix the steering in this game? I just slide all over the track and crash into everything.
That's just the game. It was designed like that
Lol...amazing
you didnt mention how the COT physics are garbage
I think that might have just been the COT.
