When the drums kick in... *chills* I kept thinking of this song all throughout my marriage to a toxic, abusive man. Finally got away from him in December 2021 and I'm working on creating my happiness :)
I think song is so deep because it can apply to so many people’s relationship. For me the song is about not settling. I was in a LTR over 12 years with someone who showered me with so much attention that I got caught up in it until I realized I was settling for someone who wanted an idealized version of me they created in their mind, not the real me. Eventually settling will catch up to you and take its toll on the relationship. We eventually parted ways. We kept in contact for a while, but I think it became too hard for the other person simply being friends with me knowing what we once had and it was too much for them to to take. So we are no longer in contact. I hope they don’t settle and find what they want.

My dad went to the hospital today. He had a stroke and is recovering this is his favorite song. Every Time I here it I think of him it is almost hard to hear.
This song can be interpreted as either a survival strategy for a woman who is trapped or the deception of 1-way commitment that is unfair to the man. It can even be both. Such is the complexity of life.
I remember one time my ex was being his usual asshole self and this song came on after a fight. He said “ is this your song?” And started laughing . The asshole was physically , mentally, sexually and verbally abusive to me for 3 years . I’m so glad I left him .

There is something so complimenting about the Hammond Organ with Rock Music. It wasn't even invented to fit in with that genre of music. I'm sure this and many other songs sound decent without it, but adding it makes the song sound so much better.
I had a teacher in highschool that said music of that era was made for longevity. The mainstream music of today's youth only lasts a month or two, and it's either forgotten about or considered old.
It's hard to believe this is 30 years ago! This song always reminds me of my best friend at the time. Her husband was so abusive and degrading to her and she stayed everytime. What can you do especially when there being told they'll never be loved by anyone else, sad part is I saw her on Facebook and he's still exactly the same way! Why would anyone be so desperate for companionship to stay with that. I don't understand.

I swear pearl jam is forever the best band ever this song is always a timeless classic and this is phenomenal 😊👏👏😁🙏
Great masterpiece great album better man a instant classic much love ❤ rock on 🤘
man. pearl jam opened me up to grunge but i remember as i was just getting into them i went to skip this song, i thought it was too slow for my liking but my mom, who grew up in the 80s told me to wait. she liked this song. i didnt know she listened to pj so i restarted it and fell in love with it. this is one of my most favorite songs by them. the lyrics hit so hard when i first really listened. this song will always remind me of her and now i never ever skip over it.
Every time I listen I close my eyes and my whole life goes by 😢😭
Hello Amanda, how are you doing today? I'm glad you're a fan, and it's my pleasure meeting you here. Is this your favorite track of the band?
Love this! That’s why she will be back again ❤
Pearl jam.....the remedy to my teenage angst back in the day
This song reminds me of my sister passed away 3 years I show this song to her she really likes this a lot & my 3 brothers passed away and my sister wants me to sing this song to her
Can't find a Vedder man. LOVE this song. So much history, so many memories. Memories of back when she was so damn strong........
My dad went to the hospital today. He had a stroke and is recovering this is his favorite song. Every Time I here it I think of him it is almost hard to hear.
words so true - my all time fave PJ tune
Eddie Vedder is a lyrical genius
This song can be interpreted as either a survival strategy for a woman who is trapped or the deception of 1-way commitment that is unfair to the man. It can even be both. Such is the complexity of life.
I’m not a die hard Pearl Jam fan or anything but this might be the greatest song ever.
Even Flow is my jam, but this is a great track. Eddie is great at grabbing you by the emotions and throwing you around the room.
Better than Jeremy? Hell no!
I remember one time my ex was being his usual asshole self and this song came on after a fight. He said “ is this your song?” And started laughing .
The asshole was physically , mentally, sexually and verbally abusive to me for 3 years . I’m so glad I left him .
sometimes we date some coal. but eventually we reach a diamond. just takes time. don't give up on love. 😊
Oorah!!!!! You NEVER should have to go through anything like that. I agree, what an ASSHOLE! He sounds like someone who thinks he's a badass. Real bad!!
I'm actually Mona's husband, but if he's afraid to talk to me, she'd have a few choice words for him, also. Anyway, men like that give us all a bad name. Sorry you had to go through that. Mickey Hawks.
Love yourself ❤
Damn, I'm glad you left him too. My mom was that way! 15 years of it. I can resonate with you... It leaves deep rutted unseen scars, fo sho! 😢
Certain music brings tears to my eyes. I’m so grateful for discovering this band. This is like discovering. Sublime or Nirvana.
Right on
56y/o here. Still one of the best memories of my life is seeing this band at Randalls Island. Eddie Vedder is a genius.
Never gets old
There is something so complimenting about the Hammond Organ with Rock Music. It wasn't even invented to fit in with that genre of music. I'm sure this and many other songs sound decent without it, but adding it makes the song sound so much better.
So happy to hear you say that. From my username, you can tell I am a big fan of that instrument. And I agree with you whole heartedly.
This song brings me back to time when a relationship was falling apart and we still lived together. Such a powerful song!
I had a teacher in highschool that said music of that era was made for longevity. The mainstream music of today's youth only lasts a month or two, and it's either forgotten about or considered old.
Woke up this morning singing this. Miss my childhood I guess.❤
Never a commercial with Eddie. He wouldn't stand for it. 😃 My Stud..loved him!
One of my favorites on my 6 hour bi-weekly lawn mowing tunage loop. My neighbors must be entertained at my zero turn dancing. ✌️
Can´t find a better song!!!! Awesome, what memories!!!
Masterpiece.
lol calm down dad
@@navigator8222lol calm down, kid
Wow! Haven't heard this for ages! Fabulous!
Incredible song, incredible band! Thank you Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam! RIP Chris Cornell, Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley...
My heart bleeds for those souls.
you forgot scott weiland stps
So many people forget to like good music.... they always get lost in it 😊
I truly hope she can find a better man.
First time listening to this masterpiece at my friend’s dining room table was surreal. Thank you Eddie for inspiring us all to dream. 🍀
Reminds me of a great person in my previous life , great era for music , music is a great place to live in the moments it just helps
That beginning is absolutely incredible 👏 🙌 😍!!!!!
This song has gotten me through alot growing up❤ Who else comes back to this song when your feeling down!
Lyrics are amazing
Waitin', watchin' the clock
It's four o'clock, it's got to stop
Tell him, "Take no more"
She practices her speech
As he opens the door, she rolls over
Pretends to sleep as he looks her over
She lies and says she's in love with him
Can't find a better man
She dreams in color, she dreams in red
Can't find a better man
Can't find a better man
Can't find a better man
Oh
Talkin' to herself
There's no one else who needs to know
She tells herself, oh
Memories back when she was bold and strong
And waiting for the world to come along
Swears she knew it, now she swears he's gone
She lies and says she's in love with him
Can't find a better man
She dreams in color, she dreams in red
Can't find a better man
She lies and says she still loves him
Can't find a better man
She dreams in color, she dreams in red
Can't find a better man
Can't find a better man
Can't find a better man
She loved him, yeah
She don't want to leave this way
She feeds him, yeah
That's why she'll be back again
Can't find a better man (can't find a better man)
Can't find a better man (can't find a better man)
Can't find a better man (can't find a better man)
Can't find a better man
I started the song wondering if I had listened to it growing up. The guitar notes hit me like a train of nostalgia 😂 yes heard it a lot.
Such a beautiful but sad song.
Most are.
Great song 💚
Winner winner thank you Eddie and the better man Earl
This song reminds me of my sisters. A horrible mate will shorten your life.

I love ❤ this song 🎵 ❤ 💕 classic old school rock song here. Gotta love the 80s and 90s.
Too bad you missed the 1970's.
A strong ,beautiful experience. Vedder's voice was raw and vulnerable. ❤
To tell a story so everyone can relate to it in a song so clearly:) not easy in rock when most people cannot even make out the lyrics
Intro is so hauntingly beautiful, sounds like it comes from the bottom of a well
Sem dúvidas uma das maiores canções deles. Em 2005 qnd tocaram na apoteose no rj eu chorei...
