There's a girl somewhere in the world who broke Eddie's heart, and she probably lived her life with no idea of the lasting impact of what she did. On the other hand, this song stands as a witness to a love and loss story that we've all experienced at some point. Every time this song plays, a little bit of that person and feeling comes back; sometimes, it brings a smile, other times, it draws a tear.
With such a song, the girl should definitely know, I guess and I’m glad with this epic song!
This isn't a song you listen to. This is a song you feel.
I feel like a lot of Pearl Jam gives the Feels whether it be by instruments, Vocals, Lyrics or just the song. This is one of my mothers favourite pearl jam songs. (i think Daughter is her favourite) I personally Like the Fixer but this is just a great song.
Absolutely, it's visceral 💕
Hell yeah
Yeah especially when your playing along with it
I don't listen it often but when I do, I hold my mouth shut for few minutes until emotion passes, because I'm afraid I'd talk with almost-to-cry voice, and I'm not even sensitive at all, but that shit hits hard

Yes one of my favorites on repeat and can most definitely relate to it 😔🙏

💯
That rip in your heart when you realize it's just not going to happen with someone that meant all to you.. Pearl Jam threw it down on record like no other.
Don’t worry, you can’t really find true happiness from someone else. It must come within. It’s only amplified when shared.
That's life's blessing , today's pain is tomorrows joy when you find the one you are truly meant to be with !
Beautiful. I remember my first real love, I had to let her go. I was toxic at the time. I know she's a star in somebody else's sky. The sky belongs to us all though ....just wish I knew which star she was..

Hey, oh
Sheets of empty canvas
Untouched sheets of clay
Were laid spread out before me
As her body once did
All five horizons
Revolved around her soul

I played this song at my Mom's funeral in March. This was her favorite song along with Alive. This has become the MOST precious, important and extremely powerful song in my entire life... She passed away on February 27th... I'm still not over it nor do I think I ever will. She was my whole world, the reason why I got up in the morning, why I even bother to breathe. The world has become so dark with not a single beam of sunshine... It's all black.... I miss you so fucking much Mom! I hope I'll be with you soon! 🌫🖤🌫🖤🌫🖤🌫🖤🌫🖤🌫
Don’t let twisted thoughts get to you if they do please get help . Good luck to you I hope she rests well.

people die, it's one of the worst parts of life. hope you are doing ok.
Teresa, I hope you can find the joy in life again! Look at the sun, the flowers and all that's beautiful in the world and imagine your mom is there, looking back at you! I'm sure she's somewhere watching over you, death is not the end and when the time comes, you'll be reunited. Lots of love to you
Greatest grief one shall have is loss of someone who is still alive. This song proves it for sure.
I was there for her when her mother passed away and none of her friends showed up to offer her support. Helped her emotionally, Financially, etc. Treated her like a Queen and loved her like no tomorrow. Gave her everything I can possibly give and all the free time I had just so I could be with her. In the end, I was just nothing to her and she decided to rather be with someone else that didn’t give two shits about her. Yeah man, this song is hitting me hard right now and probably forever.
I feel just as shitty as you, bro...
Stay strong
Keep your head up king, if she wants to walk out that's on her
Stay strong 💪👑
Be brave, always stay strong and never stop believing in yourself! You will find someone who appreciates your company and gives you back everything you gave.
You deserve everything you gave her. The right person will do that . Keep your head up you have so many good people yet to come into your life.

@@suziew5447 ahhhh bank life! Can't say I miss it either lmao 😳
@@leannamt406 it can be awesome. But if you work with some type of folks it makes it MISERABLE. It was torture. The 8am to 6pm days were my worst nightmare!!!! 🙂 Honestly to this day I still have nightmares about working at the bank. Just like the school nightmares of forgetting your locker combination and late for class dreams. Ha 🙂
Absolutely unbelievable masterpiece, and it just builds and grows and the climactic ending makes this one of the best songs ever made.
I agree the ending is fanominal

fr cant stop listening to this been on 3 days straight
@@northwestkidmarc So fucking dope! Wish I could sing that well
This song never gets old... It just gets more & more depressing as the years go by
To me it went from not feeling anything to wanting to cry at even the thought of it
yeah, 2020s has been a NASTY generation, I'm stuck on 70s - 90s songs
When I was 15 years old my parents moved to United States, this was one of pearl jam songs they kept playing on the radio stations, I've just listened to it today after so many years it actually brought tears to my eyes because it brought me right back to the uncertain part of life and I'm going to leave it at that. Great song.
Nice story for likes
@@Yahooligan72 stfu why u care so much
@Elon Pusk nice bullshit comment for getting attention. Let people be, you don't know their life.
When did your family move to the USA?

The gut-wrenching finality of lost love; the wreckage that is left behind and the realisation that they will shine their light onto someone new. We've all known it ❤️
Reading about Jeremy Wade Delle's love life with his two ex- girlfriends, this song could be about his feelings and the emotional turmoil he was going through.
Adds greater dimension to the song.
Probably the most wonderful rock ballad ever composed. With the piano playing at 2:48, the song's tune and mood completely change. A timeless masterpiece!
For the longest time I absolutely could not listen to this without bursting into tears, 2 years later I have finally got over and moved on but damn all the memories do still run through like a picture show and probably always will but the tears have finally gone.
Damn , I am only in the first month. 23 to go...
Ouch
You sure don’t get songs like this anymore.
This masterpiece, on a masterpiece album
Forever eternally gifted.
One of the best albums recorded in my opinion.
Pink Floyd has 3 of the best albums ever made. But this is close to them for sure.
😢Even after all these years, can’t help but cry this song is soo beautiful! Thank God I was here in this era 🫶🏼
It's crazy this is 30 years old. My kids are so glad I turned them on to this band and many others
My brother sadly passed away 2 months ago and he loved pearl jam and I remember that as a little kid he introduced me to the band and ever since then I fell in love with not only them but also the genre. I love you big bro and may you fly high
Much love bro, sorry for your loss
Sorry
Love to you and may your brothers spirit be with you
My father passed away and My sister played this song at his funeral
this song stays forever a poem that reminds me we're all just humans between the earth and the sky. One moment of joy can be gone in the blink of eye. It makes me appreciate every second with the people I love.
I love your comment💕💕💕💕✅

THANK U FOR BRINGING BACK THAT GRUNGE IN ME!! I'M 47YO AND A PEARL JAM FAN FOR LIFE!!!
my mother, best friend, and uncle died yesterday. I played this at their funerals earlier today. It brings me back to all of those spring days when we would listen to 'Black' together.
Shit bro. Hope you're doing okay.
Me to that I’s cataxmd
What? All 3 on the same day? What happened?
One of those songs that makes me think of all the what-ifs and should-haves.
Certain that
2008 -2020. She was here then gone after 12 years
Period.
This is one of those songs where you dont even need to be drunk or high to enjoy it (it certainly does enhance the joy) and belt this song from some place deep inside
This isn't a song you listen to. This is a song you feel.
🥰🥰🥰
Man at 3:39 always gives me goosebumps!!! Love this song such a masterpiece
If that part doesn't bring tears to your eyes you haven't lived and lost yet
The crescendo at 4:40 does it for me
It's beautiful this part❤️
ABSOLUTELY
3:19 for me too
Summer of 1993. This song was constantly on the radio. Would sneak out at night to meet friends.
Out of great pain comes great music, like this.
Almost May and this 61 yr old head can appreciate good music. Doesn't matter the genre, just as long as it sounds pissed off! ❤
Best Pearl Jam song ever
Nah. Most emotional, though. And even that is debatable. Alive and Last Kiss are pretty darn emotional, too. But their best is Jeremy. The storytelling is perfect. Eddie's voice, his delivery, the writing. It's so awesome.
Last Kiss tbm muito boa
3:58 - 4:05 is probably one of the hardest notes to hit, period, and one of the best that I've ever heard.
Agora entendi sua colocaçao
What a Masterpiece!!! I listen to this song at least 3 times a day. NO CAP 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
When you first heard this when you were 14 and your parents didn't really know where you were or what you were doing. There was no tracking. No cell phone. And it felt oh so dangerous and total freedom was on the horizon.
my dad absoloutley loved this song ad was in a band i his early to late 20s and sang this to me all the time, he passed away june 26th of this year and i still hear his voice when i play this song :)
I'm so sorry for your loss, your dad's in a peaceful place now! this song's a true masterpiece...i know a lot of guys who's not a fan of *Pearl Jam* yet still loves this song!
