I love stuff like this because I prefer to make sounds from (more or less) scratch rather than seeking out the perfect sample that’s already been made. Thank you!!
I watched two videos from you. Insta sub. For people who want to follow along in Ableton as you watch the tutorials…You can always adjust the playback speed.
hi! great technique thanks for sharing! I have trouble with it though, I have to turn off freeze button when I want the riser effect to end, otherwise it keeps sounding. Unlike in your video, the sound doesn't stop when the sample ends.
Thanks for watching! :D Yes you will need to automate the Freeze control to turn off otherwise the reverb will just continue indefinitely. In the video I have it automated to turn off at the end of the sample. :)
Thanks for this very helpful tutorial Matt : ) I downloaded your 'One Knob Riser Rack', but it doesn't seem to work on my Ableton. I have version 11 and when I want to open it I have this message: "The preset cannot be load. It is problably broken" Do you know where it can come from?
Hey Robin! Are you on the most recent update of Live 11? You need to be on at least Live 11.2 for this to work. Let me know if you're still having issues! :)
Hey! Thank you so much for the video! I downloaded the one knob riser, but when I open it it is just an empty Ableton session. Any suggestions? Thank you again :)
Hey Jade! You need to load the One Knob Riser effect onto an audio or MIDI track, it's not a session file. You should just be able to drag and drop it onto a track in an open session and it should load up onto the track! ☺️
Download my 'One Knob Riser Rack' for FREE! ☺️

this link doesnt work. 😪
Sorry about that! I went through a name change recently and had to update all links. This one got missed but is now updated. :)
This is a genius technique. If you drop the size back up to 500 you get an impact sound at the end.
Glad you like it! Yeah there's so much cool stuff you can do with this, it's a really fun sound design technique! :)
por fin, la mejor explicación de como usar un REVER. Saludos desde México

Could this also be done on a return track ? So that it could be used in other tracks as well ?
It theoretically could yes, but you might have to do some extra things to make it work and blend properly. :)
very nice, does the riser tail off at all after you put it on? or does it continue to be frozen? thx
It continues to be frozen as long as the dial is above 0. It wouldn't be too hard to make a version that tails off though!
Can u use ur One Knob Riser in a live setting on the fly with any audio signal inside of Live 11?
I’m looking to create risers on the fly in a live-looping context….
Yep! It's a completely real-time audio effect. :)
Thanks for this very helpful tutorial Matt : )

I just downloaded the One Knob Riser. But Ableton doesnt allow to put it anywhere. Am i doing something wrong ?
What version of Ableton Live are you on?
@@matttinklermusic 11.0 but i cannot update for obviosly reasons😁
You will need at least 11.3 I believe for the one knob riser to work as it uses the updated reverb device! :)
@@matttinklermusic Ahh too bad! Thanks i bought it for 10 A$.At least it was a fair price ^_^
Ah I'm sorry! If you manage to update to a newer version then you'll be able to use it really easily. 😁
HI, does this work in ableton 10? struggling to install it
Hey Gary, this only works in Live 11 I'm sorry.
Thanks for the reply@@matttinklermusic
