Dear Ableton Team, As a long-time fan of Live, I’d love to see ARA support implemented in a future update. It would greatly enhance workflows with tools like Melodyne and VocAlign. Maybe it’s something planned for 12.5? Fingers crossed! 😊 Thanks for continuing to innovate with Live.
@@aeko well ofc we know that, but that is not real „bounce in place“ Freezing and flattening always requires freezing the whole track and if you want to have mixed audio and midi, you‘ll have to create an audio track additionally to the midi track. @@patkelly8309 not an expert but ARA basically allows you too use Melodyne and Vocal Align without having to reroute the audio into the channel to then record it and bounce it back out. In essence you would be able to just drop your vocals in, put vocal align on the channel and make your edit right on the channel. Really helps with workflow, creative on the spot and working with artist since we can make the vocals are perfect without having to stop the flow.

Thanks for update. Now we have great midi tools but audio editing is still... For example built in clipgain on audio track in arrangement view. Second where is ARA2?
Nice update. 1 thing I've been waiting for in Ableton is multiple sidechain inputs on a single plugin, like multiband compression or a dynamic eq to sidechain different bands to different inputs. Would help a lot with workflow and less phase issues from splitting bands with an audio effect rack. I know there are ways around this, but it wouldn't be as effective with multiple sidechain inputs.
Nice, definitely gotta get back into Live! I wonder, will it be possible to get a 16-pitch mode like on Move, on the Push 2? There are a lot of kits with melodic elements that aren't really too useful atm unless you convert them to sampler tracks.
Dope! all nice features to have! i wonder will we ever see a native step-sequencer? i know we already have drum rack but a step sequencer would be nice to see :)
Nice to see major updates and innovation coming from Ableton these days. I feel like Ableton had been stagnating pre V12 by only adding minor features every few years. I feel the competition by other DAW's like Bitwig have really pushed Ableton to innovate. Everyone wins from healthy competition, without it there's no reason to improve and devs become complacent. Keep up the momentum!
Graphic pitch correction, dry wet for all effects and plugins, Midi mappable shortcuts (like undo, add track) and autoarm as menu option - and Ableton is perfect!
You can already do the dry wet by grouping the device and having a dry and a wet channel. I like using the cpfade mfl device so I can keep a constant volume when crossfading between the two. It's not as convenient as it being automatic but it's still pretty great
Ableton, please upgrade the simpler and then especially the slice mode where you can edit indivual chops. Also a function where you can separate the sample by drums, vocals, bass and instrument, like Serato recently did. And a button where you can play the sample!
Thank you! This is all great and useful. Nevertheless, we need ARA, bounce in place and some other already suggested features for Live to become a fully professional DAW. Please!!
Great stuff. My main future request would be a UI one. Can you enable all the tools to be able to 'pop-out' and be resizable to fit a monitor screen - rather than having to work in a tiny space all the time :) Thanks.
There's a workaround for this: - Create a new midi track - Place a Live effect that has sidechaining (e.g. compressor) on the new midi track - Click the sidechain toggle button to reveal the sidechain controls - With sidechain enabled, select your group as the audio source (and turn off the EQ) - Enable sidechain listen (the button with the headphones symbol) - Create an empty midi clip on the timeline long enough to cover everything you wish to record from the group - Right-click on your midi channel and click "Freeze and Flatten Track" You will have effectively bounced your group down to audio, hope this helps!
Nice new features. Have you updated your plugin delay compensation to report transport offset? Can I use Shaperbox without having to worry about latency from earlier plugins? No? Then I'm sticking with Bitwig.
Still waiting for; adjust the length and fades of multiple audio clips in the same channel at once.
