    To make the chips you can boiled the chips potatoes then when almost done remove them an let them cool then place them in a hot oven to crisp them up.

    One thing you can do is boil the spuds for 15 - 20 minutes then turn them off and they will continue to cook. I used this method when my son was in the Intensive Care Unit after being born premature he weighed 1775 grammes. We had to go every hour then every two hours for his feeding so not much time to cook a meal. Wish we knew about or thought about a potatoe diet. Almost 8 years on. Where do you think you will be in eight years? A Spudfit empire? Much success for you and good health.

    I apologize if this question has been asked a lot but, is BBQ sauce typically okay in whatever quantity you'd like? I know some ketchup is allowed. What are your thoughts on that? Write back whenever you have some time, thanks as always!

    i'm curious about your sauces. did you place any restrictions on what your sauce ingredients were? did you buy in the store or make your own? for the chips, you enjoyed BBQ sauce, which i love, but i know that most store bought sauces are made with sugar or high fructose corn syrup, sometimes even both! so i'm just curious as to what your rules were with that. thanks for inspiration!

    • @SpudFit
      @SpudFit  7 років тому +7

      As long as there are no fats or oils in the sauces I'm happy. I prefer organic with no added sugar but not too fussy. I'm using such a small amount of sauce that it's a really insignificant amount of sugar spread over a large spud meal.

    you can get chip cutters like that. my dad had one when i was a kid. the blades are set in a grid so it cuts even square chips. a kitchen supply shop would probably sell them.

      How did you feel? I just wanted to binge and I don't experience this on meat and veg. Well done! Pretty incredible.
      Could you make a video on all the challenges and issues you had starting out and how you held back from giving up?

    • @SpudFit
      @SpudFit  8 років тому +2

      I felt shitty until day 5 or 6. The good news is you can binge... on potatoes! Eat literally as much of them as you like! If you eat enough it's easy to resist binging on other things. Any time you feel like bingeing, eat a huge plate of spuds first and then see if you still feel like it :-)

      what does shitty mean.. totally knackered, craving for something, like you had the flu, full and dissatisfied, bored and feeling lowsy? what changed 5-6 days later? Did you feel energetic and better than what you were before you started or were you just able to cope a bit more... things eased up? ALSO how many kilograms of potato were you eating at the start and did you gain weight at first?

    • @SpudFit
      @SpudFit  8 років тому +2

      I'm Here all of the above, then it got better. Energy levels increased, sleep, concentration etc. etc. I lost weight from the beginning, the amount I eat varies from day to day but average 3.4-4kg per day.

    Omg I use an apple corer most days for my daughter. Why I did I never think of that?!! Andrew do you eat three meals a day of just when you are hungry? I'm struggling with judging quantity at the moment. I can have a bowl of mash and be full but if I eat till satisfied I'm hungry again in a couple of hours.

    • @SpudFit
      @SpudFit  8 років тому +2

      I just eat as much as I like, whenever I like. Some days its two meals and some days it's six. Doesn't matter really just don't go hungry :-)

    Do you see any difference using the air fryer and conventional oven? Do you think worth buying the air fryer?

    • @SpudFit
      @SpudFit  8 років тому +2

      I've only had chips from an air fryer once when my friend cooked them for me so I don't really know much about them. I don't think I'll get one as I'm pretty happy with chips from then oven.

    I want to do this diet. can you cheat for one day (like Christmas)? or will it throw everything off balance?

    • @SpudFit
      @SpudFit  8 років тому +2

      That's up to you to decide. I think cheating is more of a psychological issue. Is a cheat day going to be the start of a slippery slope back to the old ways of eating?

    • @victoriagadisch9048
      @victoriagadisch9048 8 років тому +1

      Thanks, You might be right about that. I've been reading the book Presto by Penn Gillette and he lost weight on a potato diet also. But he could only eat within a 5 hour window. Do you eat when ever your hungry no mater what time it is?

    • @SpudFit
      @SpudFit  8 років тому +1

      Victoria Gadisch I've got that book but haven't read it yet. Yes I just eat as much as I feel like, whenever I feel like it.
