    I am so sorry your family has lost your grandmother. Grandmas are the love that holds our families together especially at family gatherings 💞 I'm sure she is resting in God's loving arms now.

    Sorry for you loss. My grandmother died last year this time. Although she was 98 and lived a wonderful life, I miss her tremendously.
    The other day, when I got sick of mashed potatoes, I started making these. I'm a fan, too. I'm not sick of mash anymore; it was just a one day thing.

    You need a wireless mic, my man! ever since you gave the hint about the knife coming out easily from the potato, I've done this, great tip. I happen to have the waffle iron and just boiled potatoes, and got maple syrup in the ref, all set, thanks, you two for sharing.

    My deepest sympathies on the loss of your grandmother to you and your family. Grandparents are special and losing them is so hard, especially on the younger family members.
    Great idea to use a waffle iron to give regular boiled potatoes a special finishing touch! I think I'll dust off my old waffle maker and try it.

    I'm so sorry for your loss Andrew! I completely understand that you haven't felt like making videos. My baby brother killed himself 11 days ago & I haven't been able to do much of anything. I decided to come to UA-cam to try to get my mind off things. I also have a waffle maker but have not used it yet. I plan on making potato waffles with mine as well.

      +Annette Fowler I just had to say that I am so sorry for your loss! My father took his life 9 years ago, so I understand that level of extreme pain. I will pray for you, as the days, weeks and months ahead (even years ahead, to be honest) won't be easy.

    I have a somersize waffle maker with no control, what a mess, I'm still trying to scrap off the burnt on potato, when it's clean, it's going to the church thrift store! Pricing one with plates that are removable and has a control button~ and, will give this another try as your potato waffle looks so good!~

    We're those potatoes like russet or Yukon Gold? We tried YGABD they didn't turn out. I purchased my waffle maker because of you. I am so ready to get this recipe to work.

    • @SpudFit
      @SpudFit  8 років тому

      Should work with any potatoes, key is to boil them until they're soft and leave them in the waffle iron for at least 20 minutes, if you open it too soon they'll come apart.

      I tried to do this from memory and the instructions on my new waffle maker (bought one just from seeing this video). I only had mine in for 3-4 minutes. Obviously not long enough, now that I see your video again. They were a bit crispy on the outside, but a bit sticky in the waffle maker. I preheated the waffle maker, and it was hot as heck and I was afraid to press down on it with a whole potato, so I sliced them in half lengthwise. Maybe I will try again without preheating. I know this will be great when I get it right. Actually, they spuds were great even tho I didn't get it right. : ) Ketchup covers a multitude of sins.

      They say Do Not Open until all steam has well gone and waffle is obviously coming away from plates, otherwise it’s a HUGE cleaning job.

    Andrew did the nonstick part of the waffle maker continue to be nonstick after several episodes of waffle making with potatoes??
    Or do you find you now have to spray lightly after several months as potato then starts to stick as nonstick wears off?? Wld like to buy if still good
