I screwed up when I typed up the lyrics. There's typos in a couple of them. It was 3 in the morning, in my defense. I've submitted corrections already though.
Matt and Corey are always killin' it on guitars & Paolo is always on point, but holy shit as a fan of Trivium since Ember, I think this is arguably Matt's greatest album vocally. His range is insane and his screams are flawless. I also think he found the right of balance of screaming and clean vocals that he was searching for. Those new singing techniques he picked up are really working for him. P.S. Also, please keep Alex! His drumming is amazing and really stands out. Best drummer since Travis imo.
Nah, I think shogun and ascendancy were the albums that his guttural vocals sounded the most savage. Like on he who spawned the furies for example, or the deceived. So beast
I agree I didn't like silence in the snow, and shogun is the album that turned me on to trivium. Personally I think this is their best work yet. A great come back to their roots while keeping their newer sound it blends their shogun sound with the SITS. Sound
NomeSemUso29 I hate how the Betrayer chorus goes up either a note/octive and its got that ride cymbol? (i think) sorry I haven't studied music but I just find the songs chorus irritating. I love the rest of the album for sure 100%
There's actually not a single song on this album that I don't like. That's pretty rare. Even my tippity toppity albums of all time have some tiny issues, but this is just... perfect! Album of the year confirmed?
Matt seems to work very hard and he spends a lot of time/money on his vocal lessons, I know. He hired the greatest vocal coach alive and god damn, man. It shows! Your hard work is recognized, loved and appreciated, man!
Aaah the nostalgia 😊 i listen to this and remember an exact moment in time. It was winter, sitting in my car waiting until its time to go in my job and clock in. Man music is like a time capsules
This song. The change in rhythm for the guitars. The first ten seconds of this song was in the intro to a UA-cam video and I just had to find it and when I saw how long it was I wasn’t sure about it. Then after the first two minutes I was wonder how it can go another 5 without getting boring. It did it with one of the most amazing guitar part I’ve ever heard. This isn’t a song to listen to and let pass. This sin makes you rock to it. I love it.
I can see why this was meant to be the title track. Massive song. So many dynamics. Could have easily closed the album but I like Thrown Into The Fire there just as much. It's a good thing when you find yourself trying to rank all the awesome on an album. Every track...different, awesome. Amazing.
The guitars in the middle of this song is what I want aliens to find when we are dead and gone. I believe even they will begin an extra terrestrial mosh pit in a galaxy far far away.
Been a loyal Trivium fan for nearly 10 years now. Listened to all their albums 2,000 times total. Gotta say, this is their finest work in their entire career (yes, even better than Shogun). Absolutely blown away by this album. It's truly a masterpiece of modern metal.
Dr. Florence I agree, i think their most diverse sounds came from vengeance falls but this is my favorite album, even over shogun, because, the lyrics are more relatable to me personally.
I mean the lyrics in Shogun aren't meant to be relatable on a personal level (I think), but that's kinda what makes it special compared to other albums imo.
Jason LovesABR i too love converge but new trivium shit is just untouchable.. new black dahlia and converge gets 10/10 but trivium new is just GODLY 20/10 lol
I watched all the teasers and once I heard the 4:37 - 5:00 part and hearing them call it the final boss theme I was just waiting for the rest of the song and it was DEFINITELY worth the wait! Love the whole entire album!
I can't believe I'm saying this but Shogun is my favourite album of all time and I think you have somehow managed to beat that. I'm honestly speechless, I've havn't been so excited or lost for words in a long long time. Thank you Trivium!
Adam Cogan dude same here. Shogun was my favorite ever since it was released and this somehow is just as good and maybe even better. I can't stop listening
This song and sever the hand are, in my opinion, the 2 best songs on the album! Extremely love betrayer, beyond oblivion, and the sin and the sentence as well. This album is amazing!
I know Matt is a fan of John Petrucci. Did a video together where John teaches him techniques. Pretty cool. I'm a huge fan of DT but they're old and need to retire from the studio. Keep touring but please, no more new music. They can't write anymore.
Michael Pshena Everybody runs out of material at some point. It gets hard to write original stuff thats worth writing when you've done it for so long. Things get stale. Maybe they'll come back but for now I wasn't a fan of their recent stuff. They don't need to stop playing, I was just saying they probably shouldn't write anymore.
" What happened here? " " You gotta believe me officer, some madman came in here and just started smashing shit. " " Did he say anything? " " He just ran in, screaming something about submitting for salvation "
this crew" that man! is how i learned, ive been involved since the first album. its how i learned to sing and how i learned to create differently. trivium will and always will be.....
So melodic, I’m not going to make that ignorant comment that “My boys are back” they’ve just took a little break and came back and kicked us all square in the nuts.
This album is so good, Trivium got a shit ton of music videos for it. This song is one of my personal favorites off the album, and I always feel bad that it didn't get a music video.
remembering the dream theater when listening to this whole album. you did a great work guys!!! thank you so much saving this year!!! best metal album lml lml lml lml
Being a fan from the early 2000's and one of the critical fans about the drummers, I would like trivium to know even looking back, you guys are quantum as fuck! (Meaning, you rocked, you rock, and you will always fucking rock!) You rock metal to the core! Closet band to my soul. & Thanks for the music through the years trivium! X
I cannot put my finger on it, but there's something indescribably amazing that gets me right in the chest about the lines You never turned your back, you didn't need to see 'cause even in the dead of night you found your way to me!
They've teased a bonus track called Drowning in the Sounds. I don't know if there will be more songs, but the bonus content will most likely be released later this year.
What a beautiful masterpiece. The drummer is so f*****g amazing man..Just love this song its so melodious but heavy as well...my new favourite from the band...
Listening to this after the new single, I can hear similarities between the guitar and drums between the 2, both great and I'm excited for the new album
Fast en experimental drumming (it's more groovy here and there, I like the bassdrum-chops), more interesting riffs and the fury and intensity is back again! This album easily tops Silence In The Snow and Vengeance Falls, IN MY OPINION the musically most boring Trivium albums. I'd say this could be one of my favorite Trivium albums, if I give it a few more spins.
Album of the year 🤘
You know it sweetie!
JasonParadise Hi
I really really wanna say the same because I'm probably the biggest Trivium fanboy in this part of Asia but the new Black Dahlia tho...
Jason...always a trivium FanBoy :P
full ablum fc inc?
3:10 - 5:02 is incredible. This album has surpassed my expectations. Alex is so good, very thankful he joined the band!
he took them to the next level! Holy fuck he is so good!

The age old lie
Submit for salvation
I've been calling you from the twilight

The way you say my name
The poison on your tongue
The lies they tell - pay no mind
I am the only one
You never turned you back

You found your way to me
Profiteers and preachers

Duban Ulises Pérez Vásquez Tome su like, buen hombre
Thank you, I really appreciate to read the lyrics while I'm listening to the song. Help me to better understand :)
This is so fucking good, bravo Trivium.
Shoguns long lost brother.
That can be said for the whole album actually. Damn good.
I come in pieces
:(
Don't cry.... Dank Guy..
actually i find this album very great and powerfull ! but i feel is most the lost brother of in waves.
Dimas Martinez there is a lot of In Waves mixed in. Maybe this album is the third brother?
Matt and Corey are always killin' it on guitars & Paolo is always on point, but holy shit as a fan of Trivium since Ember, I think this is arguably Matt's greatest album vocally. His range is insane and his screams are flawless. I also think he found the right of balance of screaming and clean vocals that he was searching for. Those new singing techniques he picked up are really working for him.
P.S. Also, please keep Alex! His drumming is amazing and really stands out. Best drummer since Travis imo.
Dimius I think it’s a fact that Alex is their best drummer since Travis, even though that’s my opinion.
The cleaner voice he developed after he blew out his voice really plays well in this album. It gives the album an incredible melodic feel.
Sound
Because Matt learn how to do growls, screams and cleans withouth damage his vocal cords
The guitar tone of this album is so beautiful, they excelled themselves with this one
gfkaragounis each to their own! :)
Emma Rose it suffers from the same thing metallica's tone does in h2sd: too much mids and lacking distortion imo.
but again, each to their own.
to be fair too much mids is starting to become the new too much scooped mids
Need to make more accounts to thumbs up the fuck out of all these songs
i don't believe those 46 likes for a second now...
This drummer is amazing...
Best thing since shogun, you guys did it.
metfan4l I second this.
Indeed.
I disagree man. In waves is the best for me. Anyway you have the best Metallica channel.
My favourites are In Waves, Shogun and Ascendancy. This may well join that list after a few listens
My last album I liked from them was In Waves til now, every other album before In Waves was fuckin awesome \m/
Man this album is good.
Parrydox Gaming I don't share your opinion at all. This album is absolutely fantastic ;)
Album of the year? Contender at the least. Trivium have blown us away.. this is fucking incredible.
What The Dead Men Say
Probably so too in this 2020
@@MarianoKowalczuk In The Court of The Dragon 🤷♂The run they've been on since Alex joined is scary, to say the least.

matthew bezzina Agreed!
I agree too
NomeSemUso29 I hate how the Betrayer chorus goes up either a note/octive and its got that ride cymbol? (i think) sorry I haven't studied music but I just find the songs chorus irritating. I love the rest of the album for sure 100%
matthew bezzina Thrown into the fire and Other worlds are also amazing
u guys forgot sever the hand
There's actually not a single song on this album that I don't like. That's pretty rare. Even my tippity toppity albums of all time have some tiny issues, but this is just... perfect! Album of the year confirmed?

Oh! They're uploading the whole album! 😮
L Galicki Band I hope they upload Pillars Of Serpents!
Corexx Thomas me too!
Corexx Thomas Did they re record it?
Yea its on the Japanese edition
Metallica did it also for their awesome album Hardwired Too Self Destruct.
Keep 'em coming, boys. This is shaping up to be my favorite Trivium album since "Shogun."
That build-up is fucking awesome.
Yellow holy shit yellow didn't expect to see you here
favorite from the new album!!!
sooooooo fucking good. best since shogun
you guys needed alex to breathe drumming life back into the band!

Xan That is an accurate statement.
Is look like Dream Theater
Freaking djent :D @max dillon
Xan hell yeah feels like megaman or some shit lol
Idk why but the repeating aspect of this song just makes it so good, like once the chorus ends, the song restarts, even the guitars stop for a second
We need more albums like this from Trivium. Its a wonderful mix of all the good from nearly every album Trivium has put out.
This song. The change in rhythm for the guitars. The first ten seconds of this song was in the intro to a UA-cam video and I just had to find it and when I saw how long it was I wasn’t sure about it. Been a loyal Trivium fan for nearly 10 years now. Listened to all their albums 2,000 times total. Gotta say, this is their finest work in their entire career (yes, even better than Shogun). Absolutely blown away by this album. It's truly a masterpiece of modern metal.
Lopt the Treacherous Ascendancy & Shogun > Sin
Lopt the Treacherous...I agree, consistently good, yet really diverse!
shawm mathews
Diverse? This album is fairly monotonous, especially vocally:
If there's one song from this album that hasn't been played yet that I would love to see live, it's this one.
best album of the year
Wrong! Check out gorjia "magma".. You can thank me later
Daniel Smith That came out last year.
It's good year for music, there is no the best out there. Year still going.

this crew" that man! is how i learned, ive been involved since the first album.

The beginning reminds me of Amon Amarth's Warriors of the North :) Love this song
I love how this start as a Mudvayne song and then merges into classic Trivium. These guys are legends
fuck yeah! Love the solo section. It comes in sounding amazing then the harmonies tastefully come in. bravo guys :)
This song is amazing, as with the rest of this album. Thank you, Trivium. Rock on.
One of the few albums that I can listen all the way through over and over
Delicia de música!
Geez listen to that drum abuse..Alex Bent is ravenous on the drums..
Pretty sure Alex rips the drums at the end of the set.
The Revanchist - his thoughts become mine
How deep they become intertwined
The drum performance on that chores though . Fire as shit. That Bridge too is crazy too. Props on this whole album
This is probably the best of their new songs. Great job, Trivium!
So melodic, I’m not going to make that ignorant comment that “My boys are back” they’ve just took a little break and came back and kicked us all square in the nuts.
They never took a break. They were always there. Just hiding in the shadows, waiting to amaze us again with another great album :D
Aidan Rowland Why would that be ignorant? They had just dropped a new album. That's the perfect time to say something like that.
squaah in the nuts
From middle to end, this song is exactly modeled after dream theater! Lol. And I'm not mad at it. Sounds awesome.
Speaks to the soul. Gotta love their lyrics.

SO HAPPY! This album has blown all my expectations out of the water! This may become my new favourite Trivium record! \m/
I cannot put my finger on it, but there's something indescribably amazing that gets me right in the chest about the lines
You never turned your back, you didn't need to see

I STILL can't get enough of this absolute fucking MASTERPIECE of an album or TRIVIUM themselves !! 🎵🤘🎸🤘🎶✌🎵 😻
My favorite from good to best.
3. The revanchist
2. The sin and the sentence

First spin and they already slayed me!
this could be a good song for a movie
8 year old me is screaming right now! Ya boys are back with another killer album :D
The way the line "the age old lie" in the chorus is sung sounds so god damn familiar but I for the life of me figure out what else it sounds like

So much "Iron Maiden" Somewhere in Time / Seventh Son era . Love that part
It's already been said - Album of the Year. Nothing comes even close to the perfection that is " The Revanchist"'.
so awesome
Whole album has a sick Shadows Fall vibe to it. I love it.
Vengeance Falls had great lead tones and riffs. The singing sucked and Draiman turning their vocals to be more butt metal killed it for me.
j halpin...love shadows fall...miss those guys!
that "Profiteers and preachers, Sycophants and leachers" part is so fucking good
