No, actually I believe this is their best work yet. I've been listening to trivium since shogun, so I'm not an old fan, but id say I'm a veteran fan at this point. This album blends the silence in the snow ( my least liked album) sound with their shogun sound, which produced this amazing sound. And lyrically, this album hits hard. So personally, I'd say its their best.
Fan since 2003's Ember To Inferno. Still think this is one of their best songs and albums to date up there with 2005's Ascendancy and 2008's Shogun Which are my personal favorites.

Jester Gaming hahah but really. A loadsome of old and new bands just release uninspired works this days. At least for me, trivium did an excellent work here.
It just sorta proves that Trivium listens to their fanbase. They saw the divide happening and semi-backlash of Silence in the Snow, and they developed a way to please both themselves (by having a more power metal sound) and the older fans (having a Shogun-like sound with harsh vocals and breakdown). This is how you succeed as a band, and it's good to see a band actually listen to their fanbase instead of telling them to fuck off like a certain late singer.
I've seen Trivium 4 times and he's always screamed. In the last year or 2 he was re-learning to scream after he destroyed his vocal chords and do it the correct way. Corey filled in most of his screaming parts live until he got back to normal.
The spark of ember to inferno. The screams of ascendancy. The thrash of crusade. The epicness of Shogun. The melodic feel of In Waves. The incredibly strong clean vocals that have been building since vengeance falls and silence in the snow. Blast beats, clean vocals, screams, beautiful melodies, incredible solos... They have truly outdone themselves here and I feel this is the product of the insane amount of work this band has put in over the years. A culmination of all their previous efforts have led to this masterpiece. If their new album sounds anything like this, I will be blasting it on for months straight.

The hype is real. It has the technical speed metal from Shogun and Ascendancy mixed with the melody from Vengeance Falls and Silence In The Snow. So Fucking good. \m/

Personally I'm glad he was able to get his scream back. He knew it was an integral part of their music, and I don't know if you're aware of this, but he couldn't scream on Silence in the Snow due to damage to his voice. Glad he can now.

Instead he just farts in the mic, this "technique" called strohbass(also known as "morning voice") and literally anyone can do this. And his singing live is bad too because again, too afraid. So, trivium is only studio band from now on.

He screams every damn day to keep himself strong. He screams better now than he ever did live, i have been to 11 of their shows since 2005. Their early works were harsher for sure but he never had a good technique and as a rresult nearly destroyed his ability to perform live forever.

those three have easily made my way to the top 2-4 for me, but they still haven't overtaken Ascendancy as my #1 fav trivium album. hard to choose with a band that has yet to put out an entirely bad album

This song is a masterpiece in all aspects. Deep, meaningful lyrics that give you chills, creative, thrashy guitar riffs and melodic licks that always feel natural in never forced, technical yet groovy drums, a baseline that absolutely slaps, a killer classically-inspired solo, and of course Heafy’s deep, powerful and emotional singing and his epic screams and shouts. Pretty much what you expect from this incredibly talented band.

Holy shit! That wasn't a song. That was an epic adventure of battle axes and bloodshed to honour the Gods of Metal! Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr was my first introduction to Trivium and they have been burned into me ever since. Yes, there's been ups and downs, but MAN...I was not expecting this! AND THE DRUMMING! I was starting to think they couldn't keep up to him...and then the 3:00 mark hits! Great job guys. I'm sold! Now pardon me while I turn the song on again loud, rip my refrigerator door off and start slaying orcs with it!

augusto valen Shogun 2 would be boring. What make Trivium awesome is that they arent afraid to step out of their comfort zone, try something new and challenge themselves, never gets stale
They don't have to make a Shogun 2, but at least just make something heavy or something similar. In Waves, while it was a simplification of their writing with repetitive lyrics and composition, I liked that it merged their new melodic ideas with the screams and heaviness. I spin VF and SITS every now and then, but they just get boring while Shogun and albums before never do. This song the melody and chorus are pretty mediocre but honestly the last minute is the only good part.
I was talking about the other screams in the (same) song. zzzz why pick the ones at the end of the song if the screams in the whole music are the same.

The award for the most underrated band goes to Trivium. This dudes are amazing in so many ways: Matt's magnificent, heavy screams, Corey's live screams, the drum parts in Trivium's records are interesting and diverse, тhe guitar and vocal melodies are catchy

They've done a good job networking with other musicians, but I've also been thinking about how criminally underrated Trivium is.
This song is a masterpiece in all aspects. Deep, meaningful lyrics that give you chills, creative, thrashy guitar riffs and melodic licks that always feel natural in never forced, technical yet groovy drums, a baseline that absolutely slaps, a killer classically-inspired solo, and of course Heafy’s deep, powerful and emotional singing and his epic screams and shouts. Pretty much what you expect from this incredibly talented band.
Let's just admit that this is AT LEAST under the top 3 of best Trivium songs ever.

Holy shit! That wasn't a song. That was an epic adventure of battle axes and bloodshed to honour the Gods of Metal! Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr was my first introduction to Trivium and they have been burned into me ever since. Yes, there's been ups and downs, but MAN...I was not expecting this! AND THE DRUMMING! I was starting to think they couldn't keep up to him...and then the 3:00 mark hits! Great job guys. I'm sold! Now pardon me while I turn the song on again loud, rip my refrigerator door off and start slaying orcs with it!

augusto valen Shogun 2 would be boring. What make Trivium awesome is that they arent afraid to step out of their comfort zone, try something new and challenge themselves, never gets stale

They don't have to make a Shogun 2, but at least just make something heavy or something similar. In Waves, while it was a simplification of their writing with repetitive lyrics and composition, I liked that it merged their new melodic ideas with the screams and heaviness. I spin VF and SITS every now and then, but they just get boring while Shogun and albums before never do. This song the melody and chorus are pretty mediocre but honestly the last minute is the only good part.
