LYRICS
I am but a fragment
The lesser part of something more
This division leaves me incomplete
I long for completion
To be reassembled; detached
I am the obsolete
Those who create for
Another's need
Will never revel
They'll only bleed
Surrounding encumbrance
Coerced habitation with those
I cannot stand to be near
Ironically scathing
This life that I work so hard for
Keeps me from what I need
Voracious packs
Only exist to feed
Off everything that I have in me
Collapsing upon myself
The light burned out so very long ago
So long ago
It's plain to see
So watch as I spiral down
Collide and crash into the broken world
Descend downwards into the dark
Are you not entertained by the fall?
Only misery enthralls
All my sadness and pain on display
It's the only way you'd ever need me
The only way you would believe me
This should've been a third single. It's the best song on the album. Masterpiece 🔥🤘🏽
I agree
It’s bloody amazing
Can't believe how fucking good this whole album is. Trivium didn't deserve to be bashed for it. Every song could have been a single, is just that amazing.
I agree. I seriously can’t pick out what was apparently so bad about it. It’s my second favorite after Shogun.
Going back to when I listened to it when it first dropped i remember thinking it didn't hit like the others, a lot of the choruses in this album are basic power chord 3 chord progressions which made it feel a bit repetitive when you know they're capable of more. Especially with how much effort was put into albums like shogun you know they're capable of more. Is the album good? Yes. Is it their best work? I don't speak for everyone but I saw this album as lazy for Trivium standards because of that very reason where their riffs got very very simplistic and their chorus' were simple 3 chord progressions. It's still a fun listen but I think that's where you're getting the flack from on this album. Shogun is by far my favorite album by them because every song in that album is complex. But if you're a casual listener and not musically breaking it all down like I do you may not think the same way on it.
@@josephpretorius8607 Were you a fan of What the Dead Men Say?
@@Traviolie I thought that one was good, not my favorite but still good. At first I thought the intro riff sounded a bit too much like through blood and dirt and bones riff but besides that I dug it.
Best track on the album.
That pinch in the chorus :3
This album is ridiculously good.
+hellawaits77NY agreed
hellawaits 77NY. indeed
And their worst one
@@ghostofmoredishesmorebitch1507 nope that's Silence In The Snow
@@Celestial_Being666 nope, that's this one. SITS had a better mix and instrumentals minus the fake hatfield growls
During these strange times, I've found that this is the perfect album for at-home workouts. It's fuckin awesome
You’re not the only one.
just happened to be doing that exact thing!
I think the album is pretty sweet. People seem to forget they always change their style with every effort, and to me, they rock every time.
I'm liking this new one, too. I like some of the older stuff a little better, but I'd rather have them keep evolving than cranking out record after record that sounds exactly the same as the last.
This song feels like a journey. I love it.
This is one of those songs that deserves hundreds of millions of views yet hardly anyone knows it at all. Fantastic riffing and great chorus.
Paolo's bass solo reminds me so much of Shogun it's crazy, just that first part of it sounds like something off Torn Between.
Easily my favorite song on this album.
There is just something great about Tririum's tracks. A neat way of spreading an important message about the people, TO the people; at least of those which inhabit a more free mind about the music they listen to.
Now, those of the fans/listeners that get his messages, how about you do as me and make it worth their time?!
I love the lyrics and Matt's vocal power on this song. Also the riffs are really focused and powerful. Best song on this record in my opinion.
Classic Trivium bass solo at 3:26
Of which I don't personally don't think we get enough of from a very talented bassist.
Has a Cliff Burton Metallica feel!!!
2:14
My balls dropped, beard grew, acne disappeared, girth improvement..
I essentially became a man.
+Forexalised *claps*
I grew a spike muscle in my back
Totally punch the bag harder to the whole album
GOD THAT SOLO SECTION RULES
This song redeems the album for me, completely.
great song once i decipher heafy's lyrics to better understand them ;)
i swear with each trivium song i learn a new word
Let me guess: this time was "enthralls" ^^
he wants to kill people who do bad things to people
Trivium is INCREDIBLEEEEE!!!!!
The album is just Great!!
The album art is probably the best Trivium album art.
I've had this album art as my desktop for a long long time lol
Man I hope they play this live some day
They played it check the Deepest Cuts 2 ( I'm sure you already know, but just saying)
one of their more under rated songs. one of the few good ones of this album, wish theyd play it live
Mujahid Severalfold ööÖ sx schon ehh
That bass solo.
My whole story and life in one song. That's a masterpiece..
this was their best album for me
It's not another Shogun. Every record these guys put out is something fresh, and that's not easy to do. It's a new record with a new theme, and I think it's absolutely amazing. Fantastic work, guys. I applaud you!
And the bass solo sends everything into oblivion. EPIC!!!
Trivium seriously needs to make more progressive songs, just like this. I mean I love all Trivium but this is just beautiful.
Cupajoe69 yep I agree
Best band nowadays.
volume buttom 100% + headphones+ lyrics = best song u ever fucking heard :)
the best frikin song ever made
This track is so good, I really need to give this album another spin. I'm a Shogun simp for the rest of my days but there's always a really good song on each album and this is one of them
God damn this song is so addictive to listen to! When I turn on this song, my headphone become a audio euphoria that I never wanna escape. One of those songs that's so good that you just restart it all the way back to the beginning right as it finishes because its JUST THAT GOOD!! Trivium writes music that makes me feel emotions that words can't even describe! Absolutely fucking killer song!!
Oooow such a sweet bass solo :)
I've been a fan of Trivium since Ascendancy and even Ember to Inferno. I loved Shogun, brilliant album. But when In Waves came around I wasn't a huge fan of the direction the band was heading, as at that time I was really getting into heavier metal (deathcore etc.) so I stopped following Trivium. But it's been almost 10 years since I first started listening to the band and when I heard this album I couldn't help but love it. I realised that even when they followed a more thrash style it's still amazing (I really enjoyed The Crusade and also the solo in this song is reminscent of Becoming the Dragon) the lyrics and instrumentals (particularly riffing + solos) just scream classic Trivium style and talent. It's become clear that with each album they release, this band progresses through different styles but they always have such feeling in their music and I love that. I'll follow them every step of the way.
The perfect comment
It's alright to dislike a new direction a band goes in. I'm just happy that trivium never stopped working.
triv is worth it
i always queue Wake to play right after this song. They both complement each other amazingly well
Trivium damn well better make a video for this. or for Through Blood and Dirt and Bone. it'd be so cool!
Collapsing upon myself
The light burned out so very

How can any Trivium fan... or in fact any metal fan dislike this album, its got everything fucking kick-ass riffs, heavy breakdowns, Melodic and fast solos, Matt's still screaming and his amazing clean vocals, COME ON GUYS!
No way to Heal and This are the only playlist-worthy songs on this album for me.
One of the most EPIC choruses in my opinion :)
Paolo straight up killing it with that solo
Those harmonies gave me chills........
I love Trivium so much.
This song along with Strife are my favourites off this album
Dude, That's almost exactly how I felt. after listening to Vengeance Falls all the way thru a couple times & it really Starts to grow on you & u can pick out small riffs or sounds that remind you of previous albums & make you actually want to try & listen to ALL their albums at once lol
I prefer In Waves production, but songs on Vengeance Falls are more powerful and I'm impressed by Matt's vocal possibilities, but I hope on next album Nick will show what he can do on drums, because he's great but rest of band wants him to play simple stuff.
i wouldnt call that simple :D
This band just gets better with time.
I don't know why but when I feel down I resort to listening to this. I put on the headphones and blast it.
Wow this album is actually better than in waves. When I heard strife I completely gave up on this album, glad I came back.
Sadly the entire album isn't as insane as this song. This is how I imagined them sounding after Shogun and Shattering the Skies above. This song shows their true musicianship. It's so technical, melodic, and epic. Some of the other songs are good but not as good as this.
Yeah I agree
I prefer all of their albums over ‘In Waves’.
@@TheDemonicHorseman Caustic and Inception of the end are better than anything on the last 2 albums, Chaos reigns was their last really brutal song
@@waiz0231
I disagree with that statement, but I left my comment over a year ago, and In Waves has grown on me quite a bit since then.
They definitely do, the solos and the riffs between the solos sound very Shogun-like, I love it.
Masterpiece
Best Song in whole album.
trivium is one of my fav bands so i like everything they do!
2021 this still rocks
As a hockey fan
The bridge screams nhl
dat fuckin bass
paulo gregoletto is one of the best bass players ever for real....
at each album, i say to myself how can they do better and at each time it is just perfect!
wait for an another one.
Best song on this album along with No Way To Heal and As I Am Exploding. Great album overall, though I don't think they can ever top Ember To Inferno.
I just looked up the lyrics and I saw that David Draiman has some writing credit for this song. God I'd love to hear him sing on this
Took me 3 full listens to officially love this album.
only the first album of trivium i have gone through but i like almost the entire album
This sounds like a mix of the album In waves and Shogun :P I love it
So long Agoooooo!!!! :X you guys ROCK! :X
Love trivium... good work as used to be
I thought the same when I first heard the album, I now been listening to it a lot for the past two weeks.. Trust me it's fucking awesome!!
Always comeback for this song
que genial cancion
Amazing!
This album to me sounds like they've matured and mastered what they play. It's absolutely phenomenal and although Shogun was their best I think this gives it a run.
Nice bass solo
Love the lyrics (:
AAAAMAAAAAZING!!!!!!
AWESOME
favorite song off the album.
very good and creative song this is,trivium I love your style
underatted album
Best song on the album!
Favorite song on this album \m/
Disturbed is one of my favourite bands for many years and I'm in love with Trivium's music for like 2 months now xD
I really like this album and it's Disturbedish sounding but I feel like it would be so much darker and rawer without Draiman's influence. Still love it.
Vengeance Falls is probably my 2nd favorite Trivium album (after Shogun of course). Trivium still knows how to make a great album, and it is probably my 2nd favorite album of the year even! :)
Agreed. And this is exactly what I wanted this album to be, In Waves and Shogun. Not In Waves and Disturbed.
But this song could've easily been in Shogun, best song hands down.
dude its a band, with feelings, and an idea to do more than any of us on here watching them do what they do.....u wish you could be them....and i wish i knew how the F they got the guitars so clean and smooth top end with the right amount of attack and compression how the F man this engineer is a beast, for sure
Sounds nothing like disturbed, very talented musicians!!!!
+Mosa Black Why?
+Mosa Black Oh i understand XD also they have become pretty popular
This song has a very Draiman-esque chorus.
The solo is fucking magical. Fuck those who hate this album. To each his own. If you ask me, this is a fucking masterpiece \m/
Trivium you are god's
I wasn't excited until I heard this song
This is literally the first time I ever heard someone say something like this... I don't even care if I disagree with you... I'm just in shock that someone has had the balls to say something like this... Especially with how most Trivium fans are.
I know! Great song!
Awesome song
Good album so far. Can definitely tell Draiman's influence in a lot of these tracks, and I wouldn't mind a little more screaming than what is going on here, but I like it pretty well.
a little bit of becoming the dragon
Shogun had the lyrical theme of Greek and Japanese myth.. That's something I think everyone loved....
best song on the album
The intro sounds a little like Lamb of God
Riffs sound exactly like "Set To Fail".
TOP!!!
They really are one-of-a kind band. All of the style changes that they were actually really fucking good at. Draiman has had an obvious influence on this album, but is that really such a bad thing? He's helped Matt majorly with his vocal abilities. I can't wait to see what they'll do in the future with what they've learned.
I kinda like this particular song (not the entire album tho)..but shit in some parts i really can't tell if i'm listening to trivium or disturbed anymore
exactly what i thought when i heard this song, some parts sound so insanely similar to disturbed because of the vocal techniques
Amen to that.
Reminds me of Grip Inc. Nice one!
I've gotta say...........you definitely get a palpable sense of David Draiman's direct influence on Matt's singing. He has never sung quite like that before...not sure if I'm a fan or not yet, need to give it more listens.
BUENISIMA :D
I wonder what's this song's meaning. :/
It's so f.... good. But i'm not sure what the group try to express with this lyrics.
That's the meaning. Of this whole album. For you to find YOUR meaning in the lyrics.
YOU BROKEN ME*
