LYRICS
Pacing aimlessly,
When my mind is at unrest
Unsure of what may come.
What have I done to bring this down on me?
Helpless to make this undone
All in due time, see the world through different eyes.
All in due time, the shadows will give way to light.
How much more can I give of myself,
as these walls close in on me?
As I slip down into this despair
(into this despair),
There is nothing to attain
What victory
(what victory)
When my soul is weak,
(is weak)
where does my help come from?
All in due time, see the world through different eyes.
I see the world through different eyes.
All in due time, shadows will give way, give way to light.
All that we suffer through leads to determination.
The trials we all go through gives us the strength to carry on.
Something within us burns, desire feeds the will to live.
A reason to believe I will see redemption.
All in due time, see the world through different eyes
I see the world through different eyes
All in due time, the shadows will give way to light.
All in due time.
Adam Dutkiewicz's backing vocals/harmonies/growls are massively underrated in my opinion.
Yeah dude is a legend

Adam its Hearts Killswitch !
Los grupos que pongo yo son buenos. Gracias a los grupos. Este estilo me gusta
he's fucking perfect XD
“Shadows will give way to light.” I’ve lived through that. It’s real.
I worked for this band in 2006 for a few weeks in Europe. Loved seeing Josh their guitar tech in this video, he was with them then and I’m sure he’s still with them now. These guys are excellent human beings, super kind and when I turned up at a show years later, Joel made it a point to come and find me to catch up. They deserve every success 🙏
Glad to read that dude. I saw some interviews with them on Jasta show and they do look really cool guys indeed. Looking forward to see them live again
Awesome
Dude that's badass! What a cool opportunity to work for such awesome musicians and human beings
You officially have my jealousy laced respect
😎🤙
@@EWTB Ha! Thanks dude! I worked mostly with Pop/Punk bands but working for Killswitch was really great. Just really good people.
2021. This song has meant so much to me. I had been going through so much shit before 2013. Homelessness, addiction, becoming a father, going back to college to get my degree. Now I'm in graduate school. I cannot tell you how healing this song has been for me. It uplifted me, it made me feel empowered, understood. What the words mean to me. Jesse's voice, a man I've never met, his voice stretched out across the miles to land in my ears and in one of the loneliest times in my life, someone spoke to me and I knew I wasn't a freak, I wasn't the only one.
I see the world through different eyes.
Let's fucking go, brother. Glad to hear you are on the upswing. Eyes to the sky, my friend, keep that energy and keep moving forward
Killswitch Engage has always helped me in my darkest times. I swear we need more bands like them 🙏🤘
Congrats brotha 🙏🏼
The song may have helped but all the sacrifice and hard work is all you my friend. Congratulations and keep pushing forward to inspire people.
@@jcap8391 this is such an important take on this. Much love my friend
Ten years later and that chorus still hits so hard!!! I love this band! They have so much hope and positivity in their lyrics!
This is one of those bands that just can't make a bad song.
Agreed, they were such a important part of my teenage years and to this day.

This song helps me a lot since i lost both my parents
I spent the worst year of my life fighting colon cancer. No song has ever filled me with so much emotion as this. I break down crying every single listen, yet it invigorates me like nothing else because I fucking beat cancer 👊 shadows will give way to light!
Happiest-looking Metalcore band
Bad Wolves? (:
Fun fact: Adam D once was a contestant on The Price Is Right.
@@Jakob_W3Ch4rg3_ Yeah I saw that clip. And he was still just the happy go lucky guy. Didn't even mention his band or anything. Although he did shout out to his dog.
And parkway drive, try vice grip
They just look normal, not stupid and pretentious like most bands 😎
AC/DC is universally regarded as great with Bon Scott and Brian Johnson. Why can't Killswitch be viewed as the same with Jesse Leach and Howard Jones???
Because Scott and Brian have absolutely nothing in common (style, voice etc.) and ACDC didn't force the same singing style after Scott's death, while Jesse and Howard share a very similar singing style, and then its only natural to compare them :)
I view both Jesse and Howard as equals! The have both contributed equally to KSE in different ways! KsE is considered great in my book, now to just have them considered universally great!
AC/DC is universally overrated ;)
KSE is perfection with both of them.
Honestly, and I'll just say it right here, I think there were a lot of KSE fans that had a problem with Howard Jones being a Black man.
Exactly!
I can't believe this is a decade old. I remember waking up on the morning it came out and thinking "bloody hell when did they get the old guy back"
Yeah sometimes I forget Jesse was there before Howard
and the whole album was perfect too
ya know, like the rest of their albums 😂🔥

this album got me through a very dark time in my life. i owe my existance to killswitch. fucking legends.
"Where does my help come from?" - a question worth exploring.
The Jesse vs Howard debate is almost as annoying as Metallica vs Megadeth. Both are good, just enjoy the music.
Agreed
+Jason X But Metallica is still better than Megadeth ;)
+Gabriel Monnin maybe the first four Metallica albums
maybe (just trolling m8)
+Jason X The only part of the Jesse vs Howard issue that I want to see happen is to hear Howard do vocals for some of the songs Jesse did (this one included) and vice versa.
Listened to this album my entire pregnancy. Every time I play this video my daughter rocks out 😂😂😂 so proud!
Love this haha
Got great tast in music
Cheers😂🍻
You’re raising her right 😍
6 years old and she's still my little Metal Head!! 😍
Man, I remember when this came out. Still makes me feel amazing all these years later. Arguably one of the best choruses in Metalcore in my humble opinion. Long live KSE
Yeah huh, same here. It was so inspiring that i put the chorus as my ringtone on my tiny pocket phone way back in 2013. Long live the K I N G S ov metalcore!
Yeah I fucking love the chorus.
Well said man! KSE never disappoints ✊🏼
This and "always" are my two favourites on this album
But this song is something special ❤️
Howard def. had an awesome voice and I imagine the band's journey /w him to have been a constructive and good time, but it's good to see Jesse back here. He brought back the edge & imho their greater underlying asset from the olden days -a message of hope and redemption.
!!! perfectly said
You said it \m/
They are still in contact they are good friends Jesse and Howard and the entire band consider it a Family and that’s something beautiful 😊
I can loop that chorus for 10 straight hours

chorus is the best part of the song no doubt.
I think I might actually have done that once.

Killswitch Engage still sounds good. Howard and Jesse are both incredible vocalists. I'm just glad KSE is still around making music and not fading out.
Still making music.
My favorite band to see live. These guys always destroy it live, shit is too much fun.
+DraculaXHunter101 I saw them live with Howard back in 2004, awesome. Then my band at the time got to play a show with Seemless, Jesse's band after he left KE, I think around 2006. He watched our whole set, and stuck around to hang out after. Great guy, and one of my all time favorite metal vocalists.
+Nothing Wow... What was your bands name i want to see if i like the music.
+DraculaXHunter101 My body is ready for tomorrow.
+DraculaXHunter101 I have shirt of your picture
Some people will state how this music will make angry and fill you with hate, but the smiles on the bands faces, show something completly different!!
The band is important. Some do communicate anger in an infectious and harmful way. The lyrics of KSE for example make that judgement unsustainable.
@@andrewhinson4323
The biggest difference between heavy metal and metalcore for me (except for aild) is that heavy metal is too depressing and negative and yes, it does fill me with hate and anger.
Metal in general I just think is a very masculine genre and a great motivation for sport.
Its just heavy, its not evil.
It's a release to be raw. It's not so much "bad" or "dark" as it is primal in that way. It's simply raw expression.
@@wilhelmscream6834 one word sums it all up: visceral!
KSE is one of those groups that all of their lyrics have got a meaning. Love them

Daniel Richards I’m making it my friend, thank you! Hope you’re doing well too!
I love this video because of how they introduce Jesse. This was the first song released with him back and it was an epic way to reintroduce him. Watching this video gives me chills every time.
This is what it sounds like when a band starts catching their second wind. I loved a lot of the Howard-era Killswitch stuff, but god damn it's great to hear Jesse back with the band.
Howards "screams" sucked, I couldn't stand his songs
I like how they start it off with Roll 1, Scene 1, Take 1 because you can tell that Jesse has all ready got this in the bag. He knows what he's doing because he's all ready been there.
THIS IS the real Metalcore.
+Adam Day Day What do you consider to be "Real Metalcore" then?
+Caleb Willis My guess is that he will say some hipster shit like "Fugazi" or something
umm yes it is
@I'm actually the Stig yes it is

Killswitch Engage is a great band. I really appreciate there music.
I love how the music sounds super angry and aggresive but the artists are the complete opposite! It's very unfair that people who listen to this style of music get prejudged as angry and/or depressed.
2022 and I still loving Killswitch engage
Howard chose to step down. Thank fuck Jesse came back. Imagine someone else taking their mantle
I love them. I've listened to yall on repeat for 4 hours straight delivering the mail. My customers love me. They call me the rock mail lady. Always jamming I do be tho. I fucking love yallllll
The new guy sounds good. My prayers are still with Howard Jones.
He isn't new, he was there before Howard.
That's Jesse? He looks different.
is leach, the fucking jesse leach!!! lml
wow that is the OG singer of KsE.... lol
The new guy lol
I come back to this song year by year - still the most absolutely amazing track of all times.

Yeah, wish Howard would come back again like in the 'Signal Fire'.
There Music Will Always Help People See The Passion Thats Inside Us All
one of my favorite things about this band is their ability to just be themselves and not compromise shit. I'm a fan from the original KsE days man, and I'm still sad to have seen Howard go, just like I was sad to see Jesse go. But fuck I'm glad to see Jesse back man!
check out howies new band... DEVIL YOU KNOw, single is on youtube :) enjoy
It would be amazing if Howard featured on a KSE song. Just imagine Howard's clean vocals and Jesse's "scream" vocals; would be epic!
they did last serenade together, live once..
Whoever is singing, KSE are always great
In my Opinion, this is the best metal song of 2013. Many new albums were released, many good, many bad, but Disarm to Descent is the ultimate album of the year. It showed the society, what massive potential Killswitch Engage has. Before that album, I've heard of them, I've seen them live, but after hearing "In Due Time", they got me totally and utterly sold. I will defend these guys because they truly deserve it. Not Avenged sevenfold, not sevendust, not dream theater, Not even Trivium ( which is my favourite band) managed to outshine this beautiful diamond. All hail KSE, they may not win in a mainstream competition, but unofficially, they hold the best album/single of 2013.
with Jesse Leach back in vocals, the band recovered their old beautiful shine.
lol you talking about avenged sevenfold as a possible best song of 2013 made me laugh. This is a great song but best of 2013? cmon.
Amen, it really bugs me that of mice and men won that song of year shit.
Avenged sevenfold's hail to the king is good but the only song that really strikes me as amazing is coming home
GetScaredGaming Holy balls, Coming Home was so driven, instrumentally and vocally. Definitely the best on the album. But KSE is pounding HARD here.
Andrés Dávila
I was really surprised with this record, I put it in blind except for This song and Always and it is much heavier than As Daylight Dies or End of Hearteache
8 years later, STILL a banger
My favorite Adam D story...somewhere around 2006 or so, some musician friends and I decided to go Christmas caroling on Xmas eve at like 11:00pm. Walked all around town with candles and lyrics and such. At about midnight or so we see a tall figure walking in the distance toward us walking a Chihuahua. As we approach, we see its Adam. We stop and proceed to sing "Silent Night" and Adam is critiquing our harmonies and whatnot. Funny and memorable. And as a bonus some dude in 7-11 gave us all some weed which he called "figgy pudding" for our efforts.
i was initially skeptical about the new singer, but half way through this song i was won completely over...and then i find out it is jesse and i couldn't believe it, congrats jesse on your return and howard jones you are still one of the best singers not only in metal but ever and i hope you get better soon KILLSWITCH ENGAGE!!!!
Jesse Leach is actually the originally lead singer of Killswitch Engage before he left in 2002.
But ya, he sounds great. which is a good sign.
Howard's already back in action, his in another band titled Devil You know!
woo get better soon who you talking about yea if thats the old singer he is bad ass but i like the blackish guy but what do you mean get better soon is he ok man???
Bebe Perez howard has had a rough couple years with some personal issues and type 2 diabetes, and he then decided to leave as his heart wasnt in writing music, but he is doing well for himself now

LOL that's awesome
Katie B I HATE THESE KIND OF PEOPLE YOU RUINED THE SONG XDD
this song makes me feel that metal is not dead and is still kicking ass like in the past
Metal isn't dead. I just want the 80s crazy rock back though for me to believe it's completely alive.
Nothing gets better than this...
Positivity with screams and heavy music !!!
Music that makes your soul sing, a melody thats sets your heart aflutter with flames of hope in a hopeless romanticed world

This is probably one of my favorite songs with Jesse as lead singer really shows his vocal ability
The best part about DtD is that Jesse was brought back without compromising Killswitch's sound
Howard came on board keeping Jesse's sound and Jesse did the same filling Howard's shoes.
Both singers have shared the stage with each other. They respect each other and know exactly what they're shooting for.
I like the killswitch engage group,I recently discovered them thanks to my friend Antonio. I've heard all their songs and I continue to like them more and more
This song helped me get out of the hole of being a big time dope dealer...when I lost my daughter...thank you...this song and you guys ARE AMAZING.
I'm a huge Howard Jones fan, I think his singing and KSE went together very well, but Jesse really grabbed my respect when in an interview he talked about how fans will come up to him and say, " Dude, Howard sucked, I'm glad you're back in the band." And he replies to them, " Dude, Howard does not suck! Howard is awesome!" He went on to say Howard helped bring the band up to where they are now. That really gave me a lot of respect for him. At the same time he's got a good voice too, so I enjoy him in KSE. I'm just glad that Howard is able to be in a band that I also enjoy, Devil You Know. It's different from KSE, more straight forward metal instead of Metal core, but I think it rocks. I don't know if they have already, but it would be cool for both bands to rock together on tour.
I remember an interview with Adam D a few years back saying rejoining the band was super intimidating for Jesse because, despite being the original vocalist, Howard was the vocalist during the bands more mainstream success, and he initially felt like he had to live upto this huge expectations.
Apart from being a super nice dude, that's probably a lot of why he gives Howard so much respect.
@@ohalistair Howards cleans are very unique to him and Jesse had spoken of working extra hard to find a place where he was hitting it right while also putting his own twist on it.
I made this comment 4 years ago. Since then Devil You Know(which had become one of my favorite bands) has changed to Light the Torch(fuck John Sankey), which I still enjoy very much. Howard and the guys have reconciled and done a few shows live and of course Signal Fire by KSE featuring Howard released last year(2019) and was amazing. This year(hopefully) they are touring together.
Last four years have been good to KSE and Howard. Hopefully we see them collaborate more and Light the Torch continues to grow.
Awesome song.
Also Grammy nominated song.
"All in due time
See the world through different eyes
All in due time
The shadows will give way to light".
This Chorus gives me hope everyday :)
I feel like I relate to this song because of my anxiety disorder and how It’s affected for as long as I can remember. Helps me through when it’s at its worst
I've been playing music my whole life and absolutely hate when people down bands. None of you know the trials these guys have been through and for them to be playing an awesome song and making a video showing high spirits is amazing! Many props to Killswitch for sticking it out no matter what and portraying a positive attitude! \m/
I agree. Believe me, I'm a huge fan of Jesse Leach. He may be my favorite singer ever. I still don't ever put down howard other than saying I just don't like his style nearly as much but I always see other fans saying "jesse sucks", or "howard sucks" which is not only incorrect but just retarded.
The problem is, the difference between people who play music and the people who just listen to music is massive. I'm sure you know that if you ever listened to music before you learned to play. I didn't learn to play til I was 14 and I remember my comprehension of music before i learned pretty clearly. I honestly feel like people who don't play music shouldn't even really be able to comment on it.
A TV network isn't gonna hire some football fan with no credentials to be a commentator right? Almost the same situation in my opinion
***** You can have an opinion without being a disrespectful piece of shit though. Anyone saying Jesse or Howard suck are not only factually wrong but they're being douchebags as well.
Hugo Stiglitz great point

Robert Reed I've been playing music my whole life and absolutely love when people down bands. It's called social filtering!
Killswitch Engage - In Due Time
"All in due time, see the world through different eyes.
All in due time, the shadows will give way to light."
Sure rings true today
This is the song that got me into metal as a 15 year old. Years later, I finally got to see these guys live with Lamb of God, Spiritbox and Fit for an Autopsy. Man what an incredible show. These guys were by far the best part of the night even though they weren't the headlining band.
THIS GIVES ME HOPE
I come for the tasty riffs, clean and distorted vocals, and because these guys are from my state (MA)!!!! Keep on rocking guys, your fans will always come back for more!!!!
I think KSE is stronger than ever with their reprised front-man. I love em both, don't get me wrong. But I like their sound.
You can find that sound anywhere....
Rikual Rose LOL Nope.
Rikual Rose No no you cant. These guys were some of the first.
+Rikual Rose: LOL Nope, if you think that, its probably because u think all Metalcore bands sound the same, even worst, maybe u think that about all heavy music
Had the pleasure of seeing these guys perform with both Howard and Jesse singing together. They actually swapped places for two songs. Howard sung this one and Jesse sung “my curse” they they ended with rose of sharyn. It was amazing. Both of these guys are amazing singers. Especially in person🤘
I consider the Killswitch Engage concert I saw as one of the best evenings in my life. They really helped me a lot with their music on a personal level. Thank you. Greetings from Germany :)

123cyclone789 lmao
I was put in an ensemble group at a music academy I was learning guitar at. We did this song. Immediately as the vocals came in, a good deal of the crowd got up and left.
The rest of the crowd that stayed thoroughly enjoyed the nice break from the various renditions of such classics as "I Love Rock n' Roll" and "Iron Man" that had dominated the last 2 hours. For four minutes, the crowd got to experience what they previously (and probably still) would incorrectly categorize as "Screamo". They would experience what the world of metal music had to offer beyond what they were familiar with from ye olde days.
"Why, what is this? Is this... what metal has become?!" I thought for them. "I am proud. With this newfound fondness of metal music, I shall (maybe) explore this realm I thought had died when Metallica became mainstream."
Some of the best 4 minutes of my life lol.
