- Aptera combines the freedom and cost savings of a motorcycle with the safety and convenience of a traditional car (and has unique benefits of its own ☀️)
Let’s see what makes Aptera a vehicle like no other.
__________________________________________________________________________________________
Aptera Motors has introduced the first solar electric vehicle (sEV) that requires no charging for most daily use and boasts a range of up to 1,000 miles per full charge, shattering industry performance achievements to date. Aptera leverages breakthroughs in lightweight structures, low-drag aerodynamics and cooling, material science, and manufacturing processes to deliver the most efficient vehicle ever made available to consumers.
Aptera's Never Charge is built into every vehicle and is designed to harvest enough sunlight to travel over 11,000 miles per year in most regions.

The more I see this beautiful vehicle I want it more. Can’t wait to see them out cruising the streets. Keep it going Aptera! As a Tesla employee, I’m eager to see you guys succeed.
your mom cruises the streets
Wonderful comment. Most Aptera fans are also big fans of Tesla. Chris Anthony owns a Model X and Aptera's support of the Tesla charging port for NACS, and the first adoption of it should be good evidence of that.
Yes, and it comes with pedals too.
@@lesp315 Yep, marked + and - for go and slow.
@@n.brucenelson5920 As long as it can roll downhill it's a winner. We will worry about uphill later. Rev. 2 will take care of that.
Aptera is the future of transportation
Certainly a significant portion of it anyway.
The Aptera is a 2 seat sports car. It's got the carbon fiber body, the look, it's quick, 2 seats. The Aptera has one problem. It's not in production.
@@fjalics Getting there.
@@billman5379 I hope so. It's such a cool vehicle. I want to see one roll by one day, or better yet, meet somebody in a parking lot that has one.
It sure isn’t the present :(
Chris's real enthusiasm for the product -- for the *project* -- always shines through in these.
Aptera for the win!
Go Aptera go. The world is waiting for you
One of the best Aptera videos I’ve seen. Great presenter.
Aptera needs a major investor. Manufacturing needs to be scaled up as competition is fierce.
Production ready units are expected in 2024… manufacturing tools, machines, and robotic handling systems have already been ordered.
I anticipate a Series C investment round soon - an accelerant for series production.
@@Rich1Rodriguez So, how many units could we expect to produce by the end of 2025? Just getting an idea of volume over global demand. Living in Canada, I imagine it would take a few years unless a local manufacturer could be set up. That would be cool! Things will be getting very 'interesting' in Ontario's legacy ICE manufacturing industry; GM, Ford, Honda.. 🙂
I’m sure they will pull the trigger quickly for additional capacity once production begins. They will need to just to fill the preorders. Fortunately, this assembly style lends itself to expediting new facilities
@@Rich1Rodrigueznobody gives a damn if R2D2 is putting it together or not. Production was supposed to start at the end of 2022... Then buy first quarter of 2023... We just passed the second quarter of 2023. Federal grants, state grants, investors, reservations, look at their financial information... They have raised 101M dollars ... Supply chain everywhere (three different overseas countries) except for where the car is to be manufactured (the US)... All the parts from all the different sources have to be imported, import tariffs paid, then and assembly production rhythm has to be established for the line (that can take up to two to three months and still need to be fine-tuned).
At this point they don't need investors and they don't need any more grants, they need to spit out cars even if its not meeting the full, future, production capacity. What they currently have is a big empty building, a concept, a pile of money, and a 10-cup that they keep rattling... What they don't have is cars 🤷.
I for one am getting tired of the three-wheeled solar porn. It's time for the real thing.
@@johnhayes3314 Not unless you have a big investor to build facilities or buy out old ones. ..like taking over the GM plant in Oshawa Ontario once they go belly-up.. again.. They usually blackmale provincial government to pony up taxpayers money by threatening union jobs. Corrupt auto unions and politicians. No money for healthcare and education. Same old story.
I think it's an interesting note that even if you drove more than 40 miles a day, you could plug it into a regular wall outlet for 18 miles added range per hour.
A regular 20amp outlet maybe. I think they were talking 13 miles from a more common 15amp.
It's much faster to add miles than my bolt euv with a 110v outlet.
That's about 4 or 5 miles per hour
@@nathanahubbard1975 The 30 amp and 50 amp plugs were dramatically faster than 18 miles I heard.
Is this THE Nathan Hubbard? I only know one
@nathanhubbard1975
Are you getting that from the 1875 watts a 15a outlet can PEAK at? Because it’s not legal for a continuous load to draw 1875. They’re limited to 1500w, so more like 14-15 miles per hour. Many 110v evse set the current to 12 amps or less to be safe, so 12-13 mph is a safer estimate. Still, you can expect at least 2x the range out of the same energy put in vs a traditional passenger EV, making 110v charging more practical
Let me innnnnnn!
I want one!
So excited for Aptera
Best summary video done so far!
Awesome Chris! The Jetsons dream lives on. Go Aptera!
I showed the Aptera to a VP at my work and he said it's a Jetsons car. I said yup. The resistance of an F150 side mirror
Love Aptera ❤❤❤
Great video! Really rooting for you guys to get production rolling!
It's never going to happen because it's a scam.
@@Smellslikegelflingthanks Elon.
@@puntabachata Look up Elio motors and observe the similarities.
@@Smellslikegelfling And the significant differences, Debbie Downer!
@@billman5379 the only difference is aptera hasn't walked away with everyone's money...yet.
You don’t understand how excited and ready I am for this amazing vehicle. You guys did a great job!!!!
A great summary addressing most of the questions and concerns of the average car buyer. Well done.
Love it! I always share these videos with family & friends. Go Aptera!
Let’s go!
Best sub-3 minute summary of all the great advantages of Aptera. Can't wait to get my launch edition!
Fantastic Video Chris!!
Good job!
Jerry & Helen M.
Just amazing. Will have enough energy for most rides withoud charging. Also the option for 1000 miles range is very cool for longer rides. See this as a great dayly commute vehicle
I gave Aptera a down payment on their hybrid model over 14 years ago. Then they gave me my money back and "disappeared" for a while. Looks like a great comeback. I wish they'd kept my money as investment towards this new one.
It is a completely new company. The old partners kicked out the founders in 2009 and decided to build a different vehicle. They could not raise money for their plans and liquidated in 2011, when they repaid the deposits and the suppliers.
Unlike what many have said, the first company never went bankrupt. Aptera Corp. was founded in 2019, and is making good progress towards delivery of a brand new vehicle. The way they are set up, it is unlikely that the founders will lose control this time.
Great job with this video. covers all the perks of Aptera in a short time.
Spot on! Truly an evolution of the EV.
Keep spotting.
Can't wait to get ours. Keep pushing to production!
Exactly... I'm beginning to feel like I'm a 17 year old virgin and my prom date is licking her lips... Here we are two days after prom and and I ended up only get kissed on prom night and she didn't call me yesterday... All these videos are like the kisses on prom day and good-looking the lips was the projected date of manufacturing... And we have five more months left in 23....🙄...and they're still swinging their tin cup for investors and grants... And not a single one sold...🙄.
Sad part is I am a huge fan... Great concept, great idea with the solar charging, But I am also a realist.
Sorry, given the track record of these folks you're unlikely to ever get your Aptera.
I can sell you one. Let me get my printer going.
If Áptera makes version 2, I would love to see at least 5 people seat version.
Aptera has indicated that the next Aptera vehicle will likely be a 5 passenger, 4 wheel sedan.
@@n.brucenelson5920 that’s cool. I am looking forward to that one.
They have to get this version out 1st. Cant wait to get mine. Fingers crossed
Aptera plans to release four doors and four wheeler Five seater will be next then many other vehicle variants like a Van.
@@TneoAI I like that. In 10 years I assume?
Seeing a bunch of these together on the highway is going to live up to my Ready player one fantasy
Keep it up Chris. Big hello from Florida
I wish you guys the best of luck! Hope to drive an aptera one day 😊
Can't wait to buy one
Sounds awesome. I am in! Can’t wait for my all-wheel-drive 400 mile range version with souped up sound system.
Free pass on HOV lanes? I’m in.
Charge on.
When they finally announce the price, what will be the highest price you're willing to pay?
Chris is so freakin cute. His joy at talking about this car is so transparent!

Great Video! Good presentation, information and graphics. Thank you.
I understand having doubts that a startup will get to production.
I do not understand coming into the comment section simply to proclaim one's doubts.
Once I win the lottery, I'll fund the starting of production. As long as I get the position of double secret probation CWO (chief wonderful officer.)
And people have clearly forgotten how long it took Tesla to get into production 🙄
I guess doom purveyors feel superior. Sad.
Good video with a great summary to share with others.
I hope Aptera offers decent size "Aptera" and "Powered by the Sun" stickers, or perhaps even offer it as part of the wrap. I normally don't put bumper stickers or anything else on my vehicles and I really hate when dealers put their name on them, but I would happily advertise for Aptera! They are a one of a kind company and with their environmentally friendly focus I will do everything I can to promote them!
Extreme cool factor at max!!!❤
Dear Aptera Motors,
please make a single seater “city pod” version of this car, that is a form of micro mobility that can be designed exclusive for city commuting. For example, the city pod (or any name you wish to give the vehicle) can be utilized for all city errands, and not designed nor meant for highways/freeways and such. The city pod could have a footprint, or dimensions similar to mobility scooters that are of the three wheel variety.
this can be something that can even be kept/stored within the living quarters of the owner of the vehicle, because, it does not require a lot of space.
It looks that is a pretty awesome vehicle.
Great presentation!
I want this to be my first car
Nice!
I see this as a win. 😎👏
Nice job Chris. This one (of many you made) is one of the most concise and well ordered overviews of the Aptera that runs through its most significant benefits over other EV's (something that previous Aptera reviews did not do as well).
Keep it up! Can't wait!
Seriously rooting for Aptera!!!! Everyone spread the word!
I AM!❤❤❤🎉😅
Only if you spread your legs.
Nice car
Nice concept. Nice vehicle. Enthusiastic employees. 3 wheeled vehicles have never caught on for mainstream transportation in the US... maybe they can be the first.
Thank you Chris.
Awesome video Chris! I’m biased as I got to go on a tour with the legend himself… 😃
Also first mention I’ve seen of the benefit of going in the HOV lane…where’d you get that idea?!? 😎 That was my #1 reason I wanted one! I feel like I should get a T-Shirt now at least 🤣
Absolutely loving the journey towards energy efficiency! Couldn't handle the smell of gasoline myself, so I went for an EV as my first car choice. Went with a Smart ForTwo, but the 100-mile range per charge is a bit of a bummer. The game changer? Solar technology! It's going to make the hassle of finding EV charging stations a thing of the past. That's why I've decided to invest in Aptera. Here's to a greener, better future!
My pre-order is in! Let's make this happen people:-)
I'm holding out till Aptera actually has a year of production under its belt, but it will be my next vehicle. I'm in no hurry for my 11 year old Nissan Leaf is still going strong on its original battery.
Aptera is indeed unlike any other car on the road in one obvious way. It’s not on the road…Good luck getting there. I’m rooting for you but pessimistically optimistic.
Hope it comes to UK.
Worldwide!
Great video. Hope to see the Aptera at the Fully Charged Live show in Sydney next year.
Count me in to see Aptera in Sydney too!
With a two carseat need sadly I must wait for a bit to get one... I'm rooting for you guys and hoping I can get one next decade
❤ SHIP IT !!!!!
Openpilot!
Congratulations Aptera! So, when will we see one on the road?
there are allready five on the road.(gna gna gna) The Sol, the Luna, the Noir, the Beta and the Gamma...........Just waiting patiently for the other fourty thousand....
@@Elfraty Exactly! My wife and I have ridden in Luna and seen some of the others. It is difficult for us to be patient. There are only 41 people who have been waiting longer for their order - by minutes. We are very excited, not only for ourselves, but for what Aptera and other Aptera-like vehicles can do for the environment!
Production ready units are expected in 2024… manufacturing tools, machines, and robotic handling systems have already been ordered.
@@Elfraty Yeah, I guess you own one of those.
@@n.brucenelson5920I have been waiting for my Aptera since 2019 when I made my first investment!
It is wildly more aerodynamic than anything Tesla makes.
Thus, a much more viable BEV - for both intra & inter city.
I hope it makes it to market. I'd love one as long as it does fully bidirectional charging.
Cant wait for the 4 seater or 3 seater
wow. please do not hesitate to sell this vehicle in europe. we have a lot of takers.
I wish I had the $1,000 I "gifted" to Paul Elio's vapormobile. I'd move it to this vehicle. Just wish I could beta test a model here in rural Texas. :)
The Autocycle IS the helmet, man!
This is the only alternative vehicle that makes sense. I wish they were available right now. 😕
Spot on advertisement. Great summary! Reservation holder from San Diego, here! Can't wait to start rollin' in an Aptera! ✌️🌎👍
I really want Aptera in Australia.
My 264 restriicted shares vested today. Whoohooo!
Thank you for helping to make this happen. We are in this together, with the most successful crowd funding program in history.
I really need a vehicle that will just get me to the supermarket and back, 10km a few times a week with maybe one larger trip a month.
I am looking forward to your upcoming tours. You really need to take a trip to Alaska. What better place for a solar car than the land of the midnight sun??
I wish I could afford 2 .
Thanks, I have put in an order on the Aptera 600 mile range, with the off road and camping package. Many roads are not paved in Florida and other states. When do you expect to start building the longer version?
Good to see you cleaned up power cords going to the front wheels. Hope you did not degrade cable insulation. Also if you could eliminate front wheel cover shake and shimmy. Makes them appear like an cheep afterthought not factory designed and installed. Over all great idea and design. When they come market I’m considering one.
Buyers will line up in droves!
Love the concept. Unfortunately, without the $7500 tax credit, which will essentially be a time-of-purchase rebate in 2024, it’s just not cost competitive. I feel like that’s the elephant in the room and I haven’t heard anything from Aptera’s leadership addressing this.
Hey Chris, In my past home state we had many model shopping parking lots providing “ upfront parking” for Alternative fuel/ efficient vehicles… So imagine that “ Front Row Seat” Aptera will get as many pass by, the Sun on its back CHARGING to get ready for the next debut!
When are we going to production?
A long time from now in a galaxy far, far away.
Love this solar electric vehicle !
Hope someday in the future, Aptera is able to produce affordable electric vehicles, too ?
😍💖⚡️🚙⚡️💖🔋🌞💯👍

I wish that car coming up soon, I did my reservation since a year ago...
I am in the accelerator program, do remember, although it has a lot of storage space, it doesn't have a lot of weight capacity.
I dont have expendable income to be an early adopter but I am highly interested.
Wow. When will production begin?
it would be nice to actually see one of these cars get on the road some day. Ive seen a couple virtually identical shaped cars over the years that never actually launch even though there are kickstarter campaigns and tons of orders supposedly propping them up. get it on the road and sell it for under 15k and i'll buy one. anything more and its a non-starter
Did anyone else notice the Thousand foot Krutch album playing on the cars display?
I'll be waiting for the 3 to 4 seater, need a spot for the tiny human!
All that sounds great, but when we can buy it?
I hope they don't raise the price too much. Just because maintenance costs are low, and fuel economy is amazing... that doesn't really help you at start when you're plunking down tens of thousands of dollars. Was hoping this would be a car for lower/middle income people like me, but... I fear its going the way of the Model 3.
The car companies increase the car price until the break-even point with a regular car is ten years. Prius does it; tesla does it...that's why i can never justify getting an ev car!
If you actually invest the savings from a regular car over ten years...then buying an ev car doesn't EVER break even!
Most halo cars or vehicles like this are gonna end up with MSRP at about twice what their projected cost was at the beginning prototyping.
You negative Nellies don’t know much about manufacturing then. They have contracts for most components, which means they have a very close approximation of the COGS
(Cost of goods sold). But until all parts are accounted for, they would have to charge more to hedge their bets.
@@TheRainHarvesteryou have to factor in the maintenance and fuel cost over 10 years which will show the ev is the clear winner! That is why police departments around the country are switching to electric. The savings are mindblowing.
@@gmv0553 i did factor those in.
This guy is way too happy
the release of this car is consistently delayed, I've been interested in one since 2008, that's over 15 yrs. ago....and still no Aptera available
❤❤❤
How do they drive in snow/ winter conditions? Sounds like an awesome vehicle !
They drove a prototype on a ski slope in Switzerland with powder above the bottom of the wheel pants. Due to very sensitive traction control, which can sense wheel slip and adjust torque about every 2.5" of tread travel, I expect it to be very good, especially with snow tires and AWD.
I will be giving reports on my early model in Iowa.
I've had a reserve for quite some time now. Any insight on estimated production/delivery dates?
Im thinking to get one. I’ve thought of solar powered and other eco friendly ways integrated 20 years ago.
Robert A. Heinlein described a solar-powered vehicle in one of his stories in the 1950s.
@@markfinley3703 never heard of him.
A lot of that motorcycle stuff you quoted does not apply outside of California, and if it does it mostly does not apply east of the Mississippi River. Here I'd have to get a motorcycle endorsement added to my driver's license to own, insure, and/or drive an Aptera.
yes bla bla bla i’m waiting for for an actual vehicle in hand. i’m excited, but you can’t convince me to like it more than i do right now. just give it to me already! ps i’m going to need it in right hand drive because i live in NZ.
Waiting.......
Good solar veckl is good
If I were looking for another EV, i would definitely be considering this one - if it were HERE! When's projected ship date?
Will it be available in germany?
