I like their stance on right ot repair but they should've had manual door handles for MUCH easier right to repair than knock on the glass and if the battery is fucked you cant get in
Aptera is unarguably the epitome of the concept of futuristic transportation! It has an immaculate design and jaw-dropping efficiency of its main tech set! I can't believe someone has crossed the boundaries and created the transportation that make the future of our planet brighter and happier! My great appreciation, Aptera! I'm your biggest fan !
Would you buy one? With your own money? How long would you keep it? It's a trike! Being kind I would equate it to a a 2 seater sports car/roadster. Being honest I would not be caught dead in one! Let me ask you this question: You are driving along at an unremarkable 60mph on a dual carriage way & a big sided truck starts to pass as he gets half way passed an impatient car driver wants to pass him. Being a Trucker courteous Knight of the road, he floors it & moves closer to you and let's the car go by. All good? Almost as the truck completes the overtakes & moves back into the right lane. He checks his mirrors & you've gone? The compression & subsequent decompression of air as he passed has flipped you on your side/roof & into the the ditch! Oh, sorry the question: Buried or cremated?
@@kevinburke6743 you dare to ask Aptera engineers how their cars would deal with truck drivers; it's far beyond my expertise to ponder about air and other technical stuff. They way I view this car is as the perfect mean to forget about the gas expenses and other expenses on other disgusting carbon substances needed to be infused in your car. Of course, being limited with two seats doesn't really make it a good car for families living in suburbs, but there are other categories of people that are OK with only two seats, and it's not a small marginal category. Other than that, thank you for your opinion. Very thorough criticism of Aptera's safety from your side, pal!
@@kevinburke6743 "the compression and subsequent decompression of air as he passed had flipped you on your side/roof" If you had researched this vehicle in the past, you would know that this specific issue was actually a design consideration when creating this vehicle, as far as any amount of air is concerned this car basically doesnt exist, from its side all of the pressure differentiation would just be sucked and swooped through the open bottom of the vehicle, meaning that the car is virtually unaffected.
@@kevinburke6743 Does the side of an Aptera look flat to you ? Because that's the kind of surface that would interact significantly with air being pushed into it or from it. The Aptera aerodynamics engineering team had a ridiculous amount of time to work on every aspect of the shape of this vehicle from all the way in the late 2000s. They have ran the simulations and have optimized the shape for every scenario over and over for years and now it's all being tested irl. You're claiming to be more of an expert than a team of specialists working on the problem for years. I suggest you reconsider your claim sir.
I'm a early Aptera invester and I placed a deposit 2yrs ago for the 400 mile range Aptera, since Chris Anthony mention that the 400 mile version will be the first to production, however my original order was for 250 mile range version because that's more then enough for me but I quickly changed my order. In the meanwhile I recently (last month) took delivery of my new 2022 Model 3 and I am getting home solar install this month. I am a true believer in sun power and EV's, so Aptera is like, "the best of both world". Let's Go!!!!!
@@chidorirasenganz the Mercedes EQS has more range and is a real luxury sedan. Tesla is Tesla, with all the good but also the bad. The quality as an example is atrocious, and tesla won't do anything about it. Or about the horrendous service. I have been a MASSIVE fan of Aptera since 2008 - This car is the single coolest car ever imagined and I am dying to own one. It is so refreshing to hear Chris talk about the ideas behind the design - finally some intelligent views on how vehicles should be made, beyond those horrid SUVs. May this be the future! And thanks for finally doing a video on Aptera - very much looking forward to the next one, where you drive the finished thing.
@@CulturedThugPoster really? I mean I love the specs but to me the looks put it in more of a niche category imo. I'm not saying anything bad I'm saying that because it's so far from the norm that many people may have a hard time with all the attention however I do understand that after more of them are on the road that will wear off
Aptera, take note: When the VW Lupo 3L was sold in Europe, roughly 25% of the total Lupo production line from 1998 to 2005 was sold in Denmark! 25%!! There are still a lot of Lupos on the road here today, and we wave or talk enthusiastically to each other upon seeing another - either in motion or parked. That is a crazy market share and loyalty for any car model production sales anywhere. Danes will want your car; strike a deal with the Danish goverment - it's a win/win scenario. 🙂
Lupo was small and good for urban driving. Aptera only seems small. In reality it's very wide, wider than a typical SUV, it's not good for tight spaces. With current size, it can't even be registered in Europe, as this kind of vehicles need to be up to 2 m wide and 4 m long and this thing exceeds both.
@@graafisk they might make smaller version for Europe some time in the future. It would probably take couple more years and a success in USA for that to happen, though

When I saw the car for the fist time, I placed an order for my daily commuter. Might as well do it as efficient and low cost as much as possible. Not to mention, the 0-60 can be under 3.5sec if you get the AWD (3 wheeled) version. I get to have a fun, speedy, efficient, all in one commuter!
Been following Aptera for the last few years...love what they are doing. They have honed their vision of future transport efficiency just as well as Jack has honed his always fun presentation style - hopefully we can all learn to use less of the world's resources and live a bit more intelligently. Roll on Aptera and good luck!
what trunk? you be lucky to fit two small shopping bags in there, no usable room unlike a normal EV hatchback of this size. waste of money and no safe to drive in windy wet weather.
@@colincampbell3679 You can camp in this vehicle. There is enough room for two people to sleep in the back. And how is the most aerodynamic car made not safe in the wind? That makes no sense.
If ever there was an EV that built for Australia, this it. More than enough solar and now a battery large enough to cope with the massive distances between settlements in the country's interior. I would certainly get one if it was available here.
@@johnsmith-cw3wo I'm with you on that. The same reason some people are buying SUVs when they don't need them (they are afraid of getting into an accident with other people with SUVs that don't need them). At least there are some practical reasons for a small number of pick-up truck owners. I think vehicles like this would benefit to be separated by their own lanes one day (on hwys at least). I'm thinking by that time any work related vehicle won't have a driver anyway. Winter driving is whole other thing, which was my first thought looking at it.

I’m super charged up about Aptera and their hard work. This is an amazing efficient machine. Love it. I’m selling my motorcycle for this! Super stoked!!!
I'd miss my motorcycle if I had to change to one of these. No lane splitting/filtering, no parking wherever is convenient. No knee dragging! ;) At least it's covered and conditioned, unlike those ridiculous Can-Am and Polaris 3-wheelers.
@@pasad335 the dangers of riding my bike where I live today has jumped exponentially. I LOVE to ride and have for years. Life’s too short, I plan to be around for possible Grandkids:) But, maybe down the road, when we change our location I might throw my leg over a bike once again. But, that’s a BIG maybe.
I reserved a 400 mile AWD silver model on December, 5th 2020. I cant wait to get it, hopefully, some time next year. I built my first EV from a 1974 VW Thing in 2012. It had a 20 kWhlithium ion battery and a 90 hp three phase induction motor. It was literally the opposite of this vehicle as I had the aero of a brick. I currently own an early 2014 Tesla Model S and a 2022 Model Y. I recently sold my Model 3 to a family member. So I and quite familiar with EVs. I think the Aptera could possible be the most important vehicle since the Model T.....
This is exactly the sort of car I want, I'm completely sold. Get one of those Leonardo DeClooney chaps to drive it around and it'll be a classic. Thank you for giving those comparative kw/h efficiency ratings, by the way. Please keep doing that, because I always just zoned out before, as that was just gobbledegook to me.
This is the future. By comparison, Tesla is a relic, a dinosaur. This is to a Tesla what a Tesla was to an ICE car. After this vehicle succeeds, they will make a four seater version that has a similar shape and is a lot more efficient than the recent crop of EVs. People who care about climate change and the future viability and well-being of humanity will be driving these and other vehicles similar to these.
40 miles a day from solar is insane! Even if that's 20 miles in Ohio, that's still impressive. Someone who goes only a few miles to work and back and local errands on the weekends will NEVER have to charge it.
0-60 in 3.5 seconds with AWD is hardly slow. I don't expect to get much from solar (parking indoors) but am still totally looking forward to my Aptera.

I actually teared-up whilst watching this video...! I've only had an EV now for a few years, but I'm already 100% EVangelical about efficiency and making the most out of the energy I put in. So, to hear CEO Chris Anthony matter-of-factly describe how, just by ticking off the 'mathematics' parameters to ultimate efficiency, you end up with the beautiful, swooping design of the Aptera... I honestly welled-up with the realisation that incredible efficiency and clever design IS being taken seriously in the EV market. And, that the starting price is well within the reach of mass market users is simply incredible and genuinely exciting. Oh... and his comment "there are no brick-shaped fish" was just legendary...!! 🤣
The thing I love most about the high efficiency is that the solar panels add more miles of range. On an inefficient EV like the Audi Etron adding solar panels would make a much smaller difference.
I can see it as unsafe on road with trucks, will they be able to see it. I dont think so. It looks very flimsy and with high winds. I am doubtful that it wouldnt tip. It only looks as if it can take 2 people thats why its more miles per power.
My husband is disabled and we need one that is higher off the ground. He would get in and would need a great deal of help getting out. Are there plans for larger versions in the future
What a great little car. I wonder how soon they'll be able to export from the USA? In the space of 22 minutes, I'd gone from thinking, 'Naah. That design's too wild.' to 'Actually I really like the way it looks.'
I REALLY love the way people would come up to you at every store you stop at and ask you whether it flies, how many miles per gallon, how it rides, handles, steers, etc.
I really like how surprisingly practical it is - you still get a decent bit of luggage space. I saw on another channel they are looking at doing a 4-seater too... that is rather exciting
Aptera came a long way. I remember as a kid reading about Aptera and their flying cars in Popular Science magazines. They were ahead of their times. Glad to see they've survived and thriving.
I think this is one of the most exciting companies out there. I can’t wait for it to come to the UK. As a Can Am Spyder owner I’m already sold on the format.
7:00 - Being legally classified as a motorcycle also allows them to save weight by significantly reducing safety systems. I'm not complaining, I own a similar (although much less "stylish") Arcimoto FUV that achieves weight savings the same way - it's only 1300 pounds. But it must be acknowledged that this is a compromise made in the name of efficiency. And yes, I have a preorder for an Aptera, too. My biggest concern is the width - with the side-by-side seating (instead of front/back like Arcimoto) and the outboard wheels, it's very wide - wider than the F-150 Lightning. Being very low, I worry about big vehicles failing to see the wheels, and crashing into the Aptera when parked.
@@AnonymousFreakYT I think I seen someone mention that even though it's considered a motorcycle they will uphold regulations for a car. Which they definitely should
My wife wants me to preorder one, but apparently the Aptera is too wide to meet Uk/ European type regulation that stipulates that it needs to be no wider than 2m. Until they have a design that meets the regs then don’t see the point of trying to preorder one. Brilliant concept. Jack, please do a video on how you can camp out in a range of different EV’s, with you of course demonstrating 🤣
Quite a shame really. A manual measurement at fully charged live rendered a width of 83 inches, if I've counted correctly on my fingers 2 meters comes out to 78.674 inches.

I put down a deposit on the first Aptera interation years ago, but Fambro and Anthony made the mistake of hiring Paul Wilbur to be CEO, and he… tanked the company. They refunded my deposit, thankfully, but I was so disappointed to see it go under. I even got to sit in one of those early models at a Plug-In America event, and it really whet my appetite for one. Absolutely gorgeous, snarky comments around me notwithstanding. Deserves all the design awards it qualifies for... Aptera should commission the top graphics artists to do a range of skins for it; can you imagine a tattoo version, an alien spaceship, a hyper real dolphin skin? What fun.
@@aussieideasman8498 See? Snarky. "Pinched". Jason Hill, chief designer for the Aptera, cites Morelli's work as a major inspiration. I would be surprised if the dear professor did not cite The Creator as his haha, as the shape is ubiquitous in nature.
I agree, this Aptera is gonna be a game changer. When I heard that Sandy Munro was investing and Munro & Associates were working on the production side, I thought wow this thing is gonna re-write the rule book….. Take my money!
I told myself I would never buy an electric car, but I am impressed by this. It looks like a fun hybrid car-motorcycle and as an engineer, the logic behind it makes perfect sense. Chris is onto something pretty disrupting to the vehicle industry. This seems like a virtually maintenance free super-efficient mode of transportation that anyone can afford.
I'm looking at this vehicle with much anticipation. Its going to change almost everything we think about when it comes to vehicular design and concepts. I definitely want one. Most people don't even travel more than 80 miles a day. So this car will almost never need to be charged. Less not forget the added benefit of not having to worry about gas prices ever again. I'm very hype for this company and what it'll do for the progression of our society. God bless ...
Looks like average milage driven seems to be about / not far from 30 miles per day UK, EU, & US.... Hence there are many in sunny parts that would never, ever need to plug in!
@@bucktooth002 From what I seen it should be fine.. 5.5 or 3.5 seconds to 60 so you won't be ... holding other traffic up... As so aerodynamic, & electric, the two biggest sources of noise (wind & engine noise) are gone so it should be quiet even at the speed limit... Aptera's website has a charging calculator but it only goes up to 50 miles driven per day, depending on the battery option you chose, you might need a plug in charge around every week or two with one of the bigger battery options? That is a wild guess as it depends how sunny it is where you park, and how heavy your right foot is... I would have thought that the Aptera would be a breeze for you, should make your commute so much more comfortable.... Obviously we won'r really know until production versions are being shipped out of the company!
This vehicle keeps tempting me and I am a Tesla fan and investor. Unfortunately this didn't qualify for the new new EV tax credit, BUT at the prices they are starting at... it shouldn't be a deal breaker. I love the look (we have a reservation for a Cybertruck) so it's a go on so many levels. Give this vehicle SERIOUS CONSIDERATION. I'm excited to see them produce and deliver these to people. I might end up being one of them.
Agree completely. It's the first "tricycle" that I've ever been propely excited about. And I also say that as a Tesla admirer and investor. I very much hope Aptera succeed, and also their 3-wheeled fun utility vehicle friends up the coast, Arcimoto. A word for jack. Does he do those end monologues in a single take? It actually looks and sounds like it. He speaks to camera very well. Not a single um.. or err. Impressive.
I used to be a Tesla fan but the longer Musk stays in charge the less of a fan I've become. I've heard too many horror stories of Tesla not making repair parts available that at this point I'm waiting for a better option from a more traditional OEM. However, I've always liked the efficiency of the Aptera and they've just gotten better this time around by including solar panels. Once they start deliveries at that point I'll put down a deposit.
Agree. I ordered one when they were introduced. I live in Denmark, so it will be a few years before it arrives here. But unlike the Cybertruck order I believe it will actually be delivered here. Do you want my Aptera refferalcode?
As a long time Tesla fan and investor, I agree too - the Aptera ticks all my boxes and I can't wait to be in a position to own one. And yes, Andy, Jack's talent, style and cognitive performance is a huge asset to the channel - there's no way I could do that in even 100 takes!
doing the math, if they can pump out 800 cars per month, that's 9600 cars per year, with them already having 27,000 per orders, it will take 3 years before they can start selling to the public who didn't pre order. also he said 400-800 car per month, so if they were closer to 400 cars per month, it could take up to 6 years before public sales start... this is a car every commuter needs.
They should have called it the floaty dolphin lol So happy to hear that Aptera are going to sell this in Oz, it has the perfect climate for this. I want it.
What they should have called it was the bugmobile. All the bugmen are going to be trading in their Teslas. After all, nothing says "I'm a bugman" like this deathtrap stupid thing nobody wants.
As soon as this car is available in Europe (especially Denmark), I'm buying one. Right now, we have two diesel VW Lupo 3L (never marketed in the USA) that easily delivered their advertised 82 MPG as new in 2003 (3 Liter per 100 Km, hence the "3L" name in Europe where they measure efficiency in Liters [quarts ... 4 quarts to a gallon] used per 100 Km). After 19 years wear and tear, they both still average an astonishing 76 MPG (3.3 Liters per 100 Km). I would happily keep these cars for the rest of my life, but rules are changing with the climate crisis that deny diesel cars driving into big city centers (like Copenhagen, where we live). So this little Aptera would suit our needs just fine when the no-diesel rule comes into effect October 2023.
I have always considered personal vehicles and a sustainable civilization to be incompatible, but you have proven me wrong. I doubt I'll ever own one, but I want one!
Crikey I love that thing. This is the car of the future we kept getting promised but no one ever built. RHD and EU legal compliant version can’t come too soon. I’d buy one in a heartbeat - as would a bunch of other i3 owners I suspect. Brilliant!
What an amazing car, cheap to run, within the price range of the average person and looks nice too, while it won't be for everyone, I think this is the kind of vehicle we're going to need to make EV's accessible to most - hopefully they can scale production, but even if not, it shows what's possible
Only a complete idiot would buy any electric vehicle, they are WORSE than gas fuel cars when it comes to the environment AND they still require fossil fuel to charge them
Good on getting it in. What I find vital about the Aptera is how it will completely open up EV's to a wide array of buyers, which is essential for two specific reasons. Environmental & financial, which many in the U.S. are struggling to reach goals with. If they can do export of battery power: this might be gain popularity in storm prone or energy struggling or lacking regions.
You know that feeling that flushes over you when everything is just so perfect, like you can't even believe it? That's the precise feeling I had while watching this. Closest word I could find is bliss. Thank you
I'll buy the first one mass produced ... and park it next to my Moller Skycar (another game changer, first introduced in 1966 [my wife was born that same year] and, after more than $100,000,000.00 in investment, will soon begin production [they're still accepting investment and pre-orders]). I'm just hoping that my pre-order slots (for both vehicles) will be transferable to my great- grandchildren!
Jack and team, thank you for listening to your audience covering this vehicle! We had a reservation of Aptera but decided to get it refunded and go all in for a Model3 in the mean time, because we needed to replace our ICE vehicle But we are definitely keeping a close eye for Aptera still, once they starts making LHD units available ☀
I in your place would have kept the reservation ($100.- only!) bought the Tesla Model 3, and when the Aptera delivery date was determined I would sell the Model 3, and if necessary rent a car for bridging a couple of weeks. Now you'll be at the end of the waiting queue if you might want again to own the Aptera...
i'm really puzzled when people refund their reservations on just about anything. it's a hundred bucks. why not keep it on the off chance you want it, or the off chance prices spike for non reservation holders, ala rivian?
Love the concept! It's a bit wide for where I live so I wish they develop a narrower version that leans into the corner to compensate for the reduced track.
This is what we SHOULD be working on. Car manufacturers have a hard time changing what they're doing. How can we consumers influence our future such that our future looks like this?
Consumers vote with their wallets. Dollars spent on better efficiency, is somewhat like a penny saved is a penny earned. Lars, if you really wish to see this, look deeply into the purchase of the stock in the company, as they need funds to get into production.
@@chrisbarrett2512 I became a brand ambassador, an early stock holder, and one of the first pre-order holders, for starters. My participation in social media is another contribution. All of my efforts are voluntary.
I love this thing. I've watched so many reviews of it. I've always said that I'd never buy a new car, but this thing is special. My only issue with it is parking it, and how protected those wheels would be against British curb sides on urban streets. I get the feeling that the fairings will need to be very heavy duty and durable. For example, when I park outside my flat, I usually get in so close that my tyre touches the curb. That would be ill advised in an Aptera.
The swoop up behind the seating position is a part of that skin surface cooling. Most all EVs use flat panels underneath for the aerodynamic benefits but with four wheels and suspension needed for the ones at the rear there can be no swoop upwards. Briefly The air that gets admitted under the front of the cabin is slightly compressed but will be rapidly expanded from that swoop while still in contact with the vehicle. expanded air gets cooled in the same, but opposite way that air that gets compressed gets hot. Think of the heat of a bicycle pump near the bottom after several hard pumping strokes. All fast aircraft also taper towards the rear as do fish, birds and dolphins. It is how that taper is done that changes to a flattened form when close to the ground. I study these things as I work with streamlined human powered vehicles that are even more efficient than the Aptera. Our world record racers have achieved 89.6mph through 200 Meters after a 5 mile run up on flat ground with nothing but the leg, heart and lung power of the rider.
>Briefly The air that gets admitted under the front of the cabin is slightly compressed but will be rapidly expanded from that swoop while still in contact with the vehicle. You're describing a low pressure zone, which would mean the drag would be incredibly high. I'm pretty sure that's exactly the opposite of what the car designers wanted. They made the car to be slippery, which means as little drag loss to low pressure zones behind, around, and under the car as possible. It would be impossible to both have a low drag coefficient and also create a zone of low pressure that's creates a cooling effect through gas expansion.
If this is everything it's been hyped to be this is another fantastic step driving forward. For those of us from a northern climate it will be the replacement of a motorcycle that we can use about 8 months of the year.
Awesome and cool video. If you are concerned by the environment and sustainability energy, Aptera is for you. Living not far to my workplace and driving around under 50 miles per day, I found my perfect efficient and sustainable vehicle. Let's slide to the future with Aptera...I can't wait.
Fantastic! Speaking as someone who lives part of the year on a sunny island (Kefalonia) I want one. A few thoughts / questions: -How much would replacing the wheel spats with more minimal mudguards effect the efficiency? I ask because I suspect driving anywhere but California will soon see the standard ones smashed to bits. -Would there be an option for an occasional 3rd seat, preferably folding? That would make a huge difference for perceived practicality - I'm one of a family of three. -I rather like the optional tent addition... I wonder if raising the rear roof line just a little and adding a Kamm tail would have any effect on the aerodynamics? Once again, just a smidge more rear room would add a lot to the perceived practicality - this coming from someone who's daily drivers are a 2 seater and a 2+2. -How structural is the roof? A rolling (Webasto-like) roof made of flexible solar panels or a removable solar-panel top would be awesome, especially for the environments where a car like this might run. I know, I know, the design is already complete. But all the above will be simplicity itself to add to a composite-bodied vehicle, and would likely add next-to-nothing to drag or weight while adding a good few benefits.
At slow speeds, replacing the wheel pants would not make much difference, but it would have a significant negative effect on range at speed. Aptera will look into a child seat option for the 250 mile range model, but this will still be more than a year off. The roof is structural. The rear solar panel support is part of the rear crumple zone engineered in. We will find out more about this during the crash testing of the PI models. The second Aptera is likely to be a 4 wheel, 5 passenger design.
I've already saved enough money to make a very large down payment on one. Maybe buy it outright. I hope they start making/ putting them in the car showrooms soon because I want one!
Thanks for the video Jack (and Fully Charged team) it was very even handed and well done. I am looking forward to hearing your reactions to the much more polished upcoming Gamma model Aptera, in about a month. 😁
After commuting to work, you park it on the roof of the parking garage for free energy. I imagine many efficient cars like these will be on the road near future. Not everyone needs the extra seats to commute.
Wow can't believe they're actually going to make this thing. I dont want one personally, but glad they'll be an option for courageous efficiency fans. They'll get lots of attention. Hope they look finished and polished and not like cheap kit cars.
@sandervanderkammen9230 has been making false claims for years. My guess is that you might get your vehicle in 2025 at best case, but it will be a far better vehicle than we originally expected.
I’m simply stunned, The shape is shocking but being a diver I’m liking it more and more it does look like the body of a fish or a bird. Numbers don’t lie and it just creates its own energy what else could you ask for? keep the price low and this will be so successful. I've had a 1,000 mile, 3 motor model Aptera on order for a while now! I first invested in the company but a couple months later I couldn't help myself & went ahead & reserved one of the cars.
I am in full agreement with your concluding statements, it surprises me how unpopular this approach and mentality is amongst the established car manufacturers. EDIT 12th Aug- why do people see something that's different and innovative, then proceed to justify their own choices? (That's a retorical question btw) The Aptera is a new concept for electric transport and probably not intended to replace all vehicle use cases, it will fill a small but significant part of the market and drive change for the majority.
@@lsh3rd Unfortunately we don't have the resources to think like that anymore. Any company that dismisses new ideas and innovation usually don't have much of a future. Being a Trucker courteous Knight of the road, he floors it & moves closer to you and let's the car go by. All good? Almost as the truck completes the overtakes & moves back into the right lane. And, that the starting price is well within the reach of mass market users is simply incredible and genuinely exciting.

We need them today please just build them ASAP we are so grateful and waiting
doing the math, if they can pump out 800 cars per month, that's 9600 cars per year, with them already having 27,000 per orders, it will take 3 years before they can start selling to the public who didn't pre order. also he said 400-800 car per month, so if they were closer to 400 cars per month, it could take up to 6 years before public sales start... this is a car every commuter needs.
True. They plan to open other factories around the world to meet increasing world demand. But all the parts (batteries) must be available.
I hope we get something like this in europe, waiting for it desperately.
I have always considered personal vehicles and a sustainable civilization to be incompatible, but you have proven me wrong. I doubt I'll ever own one, but I want one!
350 mpge!!!! what the what?! I never heard that number before. It makes my Bolt look like a gas guzzler!
Also, Gamma reveal later today?
Apparently, the whole Aptera has less drag than a single F-150 side mirror...
@@0ooTheMAXXoo0 Two of them yes
YAY! Two of my favorite things: Fully Charged and Aptera!
Can you imagine this car in all-black? would look super cool
Rooting for these guys, would love to have this csr
Same here absolutely brilliant 👏
Thanks for checking out Aptera Jack. I really want them to succeed and a good video from you helps.
Efficiency can be beautiful love the video.
Crikey I love that thing. This is the car of the future we kept getting promised but no one ever built. RHD and EU legal compliant version can’t come too soon. I’d buy one in a heartbeat - as would a bunch of other i3 owners I suspect. Brilliant!
agree on thatone man !

I am happy to see Aptera still around and possibly making it into the American car market.
I miss Robert in these videos, but if there is one guy who can replace him, it's Jack. Keep up the good work!
No, Robert is just not as technical.
We need a more technical person energy implementation as well.
We already have one for the science.
Thank you
Best Aptera video yet, of course; succinct and informative. Can't wait for my UK delivery!
This was 1st time I’ve heard Chris say they’re planning on ramping quickly up to 80/day, they’re going to need to. I’m glad I invested.
We had a reservation of Aptera but decided to get it refunded and go all in for a Model3 in the mean time, because we needed to replace our ICE vehicle
But we are definitely keeping a close eye for Aptera still, once they starts making LHD units available ☀
@@charangohabsburg1 It is what I did. We bought a MG ZS EV in the meantime and we will sell it when we receive the Aptera.
i'm really puzzled when people refund their reservations on just about anything. it's a hundred bucks. why not keep it on the off chance you want it, or the off chance prices spike for non reservation holders, ala rivian?
Did the same as well. Bought a Model 3 and when my Aptera is available I will sell the M 3.
You probably dodged a bullet.
Love the concept! It's a bit wide for where I live so I wish they develop a narrower version that leans into the corner to compensate for the reduced track.
@Eric Dow But if narrower?
I'm glad to see these finally on their way to production. Thanks for the up-close look!
I'd buy that in a heartbeat!
Looks awesome, like something from a decent sci-fi. Love it.
A prototype actually was featured in the Star Trek reboot (2009).
You will look so cool. All of the BugLadies will know they are in the presence of a Bugman king!!!
Just Seen this out of the box car !!!!! YES YES YES IT ABOUT TIME
Best Aptera presentation ever! Your enthusiasm is contagious!
I love it’s swoopy design too! It’s “MAD”
In addition, the added width would increase the need to be closer to the curb and the wheel would stick out into the road.
When will this gorgeous little car come over to England?!! It’s IDEAL for London motoring!!
I've been following Aptera ever since the first Automotive X-Prize competition. I'm still excited for it to come to market after all this time!
I’m so excited to drive an aptera EV and hopefully see more on the road!!!!!
If this is everything it's been hyped to be this is another fantastic step driving forward. For those of us from a northern climate it will be the replacement of a motorcycle that we can use about 8 months of the year.
Yes but a lot safer than a motorcycle and it can work well in the rain and snow.
A few thoughts / questions:
-How much would replacing the wheel spats with more minimal mudguards effect the efficiency?
I love everything about this car! I am not putting my money into the company until they start mass producing it, but I will most likely be buying one!
I have both an early preorder and an investment.
I want a one seat version.
Wow can't believe they're actually going to make this thing. I dont want one personally, but glad they'll be an option for courageous efficiency fans. They'll get lots of attention. Hope they look finished and polished and not like cheap kit cars.
They are also fast not just efficient 0-60mph is around 3.7 seconds.
Cheap like a kit car! Hasn't held Tesla back.
I am reserving holder #51,880 and cannot wait for mine!!! even though I don't expect it until 2024
Don't hold your breath, Aptera is a scam
@sandervanderkammen9230 has been making false claims for years. My guess is that you might get your vehicle in 2025 at best case, but it will be a far better vehicle than we originally expected.
amazing episode, I can't wait to get my Aptera!
I’m simply stunned, The shape is shocking but being a diver I’m liking it more and more it does look like the body of a fish or a bird. Numbers don’t lie and it just creates its own energy what else could you ask for? keep the price low and this will be so successful. Please make those front fenders clear the huge curbs we have in Florida!!
No question, this is our only option if we want a car like transporter. I crave an Aptera!
I've had a 1,000 mile, 3 motor model Aptera on order for a while now! I first invested in the company but a couple months later I couldn't help myself & went ahead & reserved one of the cars.

In America from California to Texas to New York we've been having grid issues.
Aptera basically said "Park me in a place that gets no shade" ☀️😎
I am in full agreement with your concluding statements, it surprises me how unpopular this approach and mentality is amongst the established car manufacturers.
EDIT 12th Aug- why do people see something that's different and innovative, then proceed to justify their own choices? (That's a retorical question btw)
The Aptera is a new concept for electric transport and probably not intended to replace all vehicle use cases, it will fill a small but significant part of the market and drive change for the majority.
I think the mentality is, "When you sell millions of car as-is, why mess with the formula?"
@@lsh3rd Unfortunately we don't have the resources to think like that anymore.
Any company that dismisses new ideas and innovation usually don't have much of a future.
We don't build cars the same way we did 50 years ago because of tech advances and the drive for greater profit.
If not for Tesla we would still be buying ICE vehicles!

@@moestrei they're not oversized if you actually use all that space. If you have a family, an SUV makes a lot of sense. It also happens that this thing has the trunk space of a midsize suv, so it might be able to fill their needs.
@@moestrei 99%, now you're making up stats to back your point. SUV owner here too. My family makes use of the space and even need a roof box at times. A lot of journeys we don't need that space, so what's the answer? Ride a bike, electric unicycle, motorcycle for those journeys? Only hire a SUV when we need the space? These aren't easy fixes. At last !!!! Well done on recognising the Aptera exists. This is the future!
