I saw Joe back in the early 2000s at a small club when no one really knew who he was. The show cost $7 to get in. I have been to a ton of shows over the course of my life so far. From small clubs to arenas. Bands no one has heard of, the the biggest acts of the day. No one has blown me away the way Joe Bonamassa did that night. It is the best live show I have ever seen. It was a trio consisting of Joe, a bass player, and a drummer. Skill combined with the raw energy of youth. I don't think I will ever see one that good again.
Michael Rhodes an award winning bass player passed away this past March. Should check out Riding With The Kings, Mahalia Barnes (Jimmy's daughter) does a duet with Joe.
Joe has worked hard and long to earn the title of "Blues Man." He's one of the best ever! No wonder Beth Hart hangs out with him!! And it's not just Joe... he has gathered an incredible band around him. Stellar group of musicians!
He's the Titan of the Blues! Ive not seen another artist as versatile as Joe. He has been evolving since 4yrs old and its amazing. He just scored his 27th #1 blues album.💙
This was the exact band Joe had with him the first time I saw him live. Anton Fig, on the drums, has since retired. The Bassist, Michael Rhodes, "the most recorded bassist in Nashville history", sadly passed away earlier this year. Everyone on that stage was absolutely world class. You can't get better.
Oh that INTRO!!! Who needs vocals when the guitar can sing like that 😲 awesome !!!!! thanks guys love your channel Happy New Year from Australia🦘🦘🦘 ps was that Mahalia Barns on backing?
Joe sends shivers through my spine. Slow Gin and Mountain Time are also wonderful displays of talent. I would love to see him live but sadly cannot afford the cost at this time. Thank goodness for video. 🎸
That whole show at the Greek is awesome! Joe is kind of like Stevie Ray Vaughn in that his guitar playing is so great you lose sight of the fact that HE CAN SING! Speaking of Stevie Ray, the man on the keys is Reese Wynans, Stevie's keyboardist. Imagine playing for two of the greatest guitarists of all time. The Three Kings Blues Band he had with him at this show is TOP flight along with the backup singers. Jimmy Barnes daughter Mahalia does a great job on "Let the Good Times Roll". So many great cuts off this show including "Never Make Your Move Too Soon", "Cadillac Assembly Line", and so many others including B.B.Kings "The Thrill Is Gone" who Joe opened for at the tender age of 11. "Breaking Up Somebody's Home" is one of my favorites. He has so many great live shows like Red Rock and Royal Albert Hall and collaborations with the awesome Beth Hart and Eric Gales but love this band. Anton is retired and RIP Mr. Rhoades. P.S., loved your reactions!
If you have already noticed, Joe's keyboardist has already played for another Bluesmaster you've reacted to. Take a close look and see if you recognize him!!! Remember.....it's tough to be the Blues Baby!!!❤
and he's one of the few able to play also unplugged traditional blues on acoustic guitar AND being a guitar hero on electric like Rory Gallagher (also Guitar hero and talented on acoustic)
I know Joe owns one of Albert King's flying V guitars. Don't know if this is it but Joe is killin' this one. Reese Wynans on keys. Played with Stevie Raye and Double Trouble.
I absolutely love Joe, but I jusf thought about another guy. If you wanna hear Shredding, I got one for you. It's insane he's not very well known. Philip Sayce "Morning Star/Spanish Castle Magic" live at 22 Dallas Guitar Festival. I was at this show, sat closer to the back, and I could not believe what I was witnessing!
I'd say that this isn't shredding - which can just be an 'I can play faster than you' competition - it's playing the blues with feeling and attitude! And Flying V's have such a unique tone, don't they!
You should check out the band bloodline featuring joe along with barry oakley jr, his father was in the Allman brothers, Robbi kreiger of the door fame son is in th band, Erin davis who's related to Miles Davis the jazz great and lou segreti. The album came out in 1997 self titled Bloobline. Excellent album hope you can find it,
Joe is also a guitar nut, owning over 400 guitars, mostly original vintage 50's and 60's models. The flying v in this video is either a '58 or '59 valued at between $200,000 and $300,000. Most people are collectors and just store them away. Joe uses all of them no matter how valuable they are.
The shortest of the three backup singers is Mahalia Barnes, Jimmy Barnes's daughter. Suzi will love her voice check out Riding with the Kings Joe Bonamassa and Mahalia Barnes. Also Nasty Gal Ooh yeah By mahalia barnes and the soul mates.
Joe at his fabulous best. I say again, if you like Joe you must listen to Eric Gales, Lance Lopez, Philip Sayce, and Simon McBride. You guys don't know what you're missing.
Live at the Greek Theatre is my favourite album of Joe’s. Please try “I’ll Play the Blues for You” and “Hummingbird” next. Also “Riding with the Kings”. Fun fact: All three backup singers are Australian. From left to right, Juanita Tippins, Jade MacRae, and Mahalia Barnes, daughter, of course, of Jimmy Barnes.
You guys should look into the super group Jo’s plays in with Jason bonham ( John bonham of Led Zeppelin’s son) glen hughes of deep purple and Derrick sherinian on keys they are called Black Country communion old school like a blend of zeppelin deep purple and bad company all rolled into one
There’s a better version. Cold Chisel with some of the greats from Australian rock from the 80s, Knocking on Heavens Door during the Andrew Durant memorial concert
Joe is simply a perfect package, a gifted guitarist, a good singer and what is very rare these days, he has style in a pleasantly old-fashioned way
The backup singer with the shortest hair is Mahalia Barnes, daughter of Jimmy.
Runs on the family!
Her reaction sent me to the wood shed 😅
Yes
Righton brother isn't she fantastic !!!
She is amazing.
I saw Joe back in the early 2000s at a small club when no one really knew who he was. The show cost $7 to get in. I have been to a ton of shows over the course of my life so far. THE ABSOLUTE BEST guitar player alive !!!!!! He would make Stevie , Gary & Jeff proud with his efforts of keeping the blues alive.
I absolutely agree with you!!!
Michael Rhodes an award winning bass player passed away this past March. Should check out Riding With The Kings, Mahalia Barnes (Jimmy's daughter) does a duet with Joe.
If I am not mistaken his keyboard player is Reese Wynans who also played for SRV
Yes that is Reese.
Love Joe. Just a monster guitar and vocals! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the reaction ❤
joe was 12 years old when he first played with the great bb king one of my favorite of his song is John Henry yall need to check that one out to
great to see jimmy's daughter knocking dulcet tones in the backing lineup
He blows me away just like SRV used to do!!!!
Thank you thank you thank you for putting me on to this awesome guitar player and singer. Love from New Zealand 👍
I've seen live in London one of greatest blues guitarist ever
The man is a guitar genius! he also has a great voice! Saw him at The Albert Hall a few years ago, it was a great gig.
Outstanding set of musicians, simply the best but always surprises me not many big up drummer Anton Fig, always on point.
Saw Mr. Fletcher and Mr. Fig at cutting room nyc in June. Fun night
He is just the best!! Can’t go wrong with Joe!!
Oh that INTRO!!! Who needs vocals when the guitar can sing like that 😲 awesome !!!!! thanks guys love your channel Happy New Year from Australia🦘🦘🦘 ps was that Mahalia Barns on backing?
You are definitely correct with that
Shout out to Mr. Reese Wynans on the keyboard who's still rocking.
If I would have known that concert would have been that good I would have flown to California to see it. Joe ROCKS!1
What l love about this is that Jimmy adores his wife Jane.
The keyboard artist used to play with SRV before his death!!!
If you get a chance to see Joe live, do it. It will be memorable. Hes a guitar prodigy and watching the magic in person is amazing..
Saw him at The Royal Albert Hall a few years ago, the man is an absolute guitar genius.
Joe sends shivers through my spine. Slow Gin and Mountain Time are also wonderful displays of talent. I would love to see him live but sadly cannot afford the cost at this time. Thank goodness for video. 🎸
He is on Tour!
April-Mai-Germany!

Joe is the King Shredder. Nothing but smiles here!!
Jimmy Barnes daughter sings backup, her name is Mahalia, the one on the right as your looking at the stage.
You can hear it still- the routes!
If you have already noticed, Joe's keyboardist has already played for another Bluesmaster you've reacted to. Take a close look and see if you recognize him!!! Remember.....it's tough to be the Blues Baby!!!❤
And I believe the drummer is Anton Fig who played on the band for David Letterman's late night show
and he's one of the few able to play also unplugged traditional blues on acoustic guitar AND being a guitar hero on electric like Rory Gallagher (also Guitar hero and talented on acoustic)
Stevies keyboard guy
Pure, Raw, Power.
I only have three words for that.
Joe Bonamassa is on You Tube at the age of 13 it is really a treat to see how talented he was at that age. Tom and Reeny
The backing singer on the right as you look at them is Mahalia Barnes
The way how fast his fingers move on the frets is insane
Joe is the best electric guitar player alive. Period.
Not gonna lie, the best ever ever ever react video of ever time, NO PAUSES , no nothing, instant sub , love you guys !
I think our friend Joe is knocking on the door to "Number one guitarist" in the world
This whole album is fantastic!!
The guy playing the keys is Reese Wynans. He was SRV's keys player also.
The backup singer on the right is Jimmy Barnes' daughter. A great blues singer, also
Not sure, but i think that flying V is called Amos. love this band. R.I.P. Mr Rhodes on Bass
Have met and talked to Joe a few times and he’s always awesome…talked to me about 335’s for like 10minutes once and he certainly didn’t have to
Another Aussie connection as John's backup singers are Australian starting with Mahalia Barnes then Juanita Tippins and finally Jade MacRae.
Another GREAT reaction video by The Wolf HunterZ. Keep up the great work, guys.
WOW!!!!!!
As always, GO JOE BABY.
That was epic.
Hey guys, Joe still tours a lot
Do yourselves a favor and see him live.
And the great Reese Wynant on keyboards. Playing his ass off!!
Guys!!! Hummingbird from him, same concert. You must listen. 10 minutes of pleasure with an emotional last 5 minutes
I've heard so many great guitarists in my 71 years and Joe, Beck and Moore are my favourites. Beck and Moore are alas no more so rock on Joe!
Great reaction, love Joe especially when he’s playing along Beth Hart! But one band, ‘Nightwish! Seriously 🏴
He could easily play heavy metal. I think it’s in him somewhere. I love to listen to him.
Joe always gives love to the people that make him look good
Dont forget thats Jimmy Barnes's daughter Mahalia on backing vocals.
Joe Brings it, each and every time.
This is when Joe assembled a traveling band of Killers to tour with.
You are listening to a master
Check out Mahalia Barnes singing back up, Jimmy Barnes daughter!
Yall really need to watch joe bonamassa play the song "hummingbird" from this same concert. It will blow you away
He can certainly play , he can certainly sing but my god, what a force of entertainment Joe Bonamassa is....amazing
Joe is the Best Blues player of them all.
WOOOOOOOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know Joe owns one of Albert King's flying V guitars. Don't know if this is it but Joe is killin' this one. Reese Wynans on keys. Played with Stevie Raye and Double Trouble.
Y'all need to react to joe bonamassa the river live at rockpalase
I absolutely love Joe, but I jusf thought about another guy. If you wanna hear Shredding, I got one for you. It's insane he's not very well known. Philip Sayce "Morning Star/Spanish Castle Magic" live at 22 Dallas Guitar Festival. I was at this show, sat closer to the back, and I could not believe what I was witnessing!

You haven't seen shredding until you watch Joe play Double crossing time in the British Blues Explosion.
Excellent album hope you can find it,
Joe B is so good. Check out other songs from this show. They are all good.
Try Joe Bonamassa's "Just got paid" at the Royal Albert Hall 2009 version. Possibly the finest piece of rock ever played on stage forever !

That 58 Flying V is PRICELESS…pretty sure it’s a 58 Korina V
You have to see him live, one of my concerts
Best guitar player alive. And he's playing Amos the Flying V. $200,000.
Looks like he is channeling Stevie Ray the way is fingers are moving !
With talent and forty plus years of practice you too can play like this, well maybe not. JB one of the greatest
Hell Yea

Reese Wynans also played with second coming who became the allman brothers band.when duane called his brother greg.and captain beoynd peace🦍🐻🍄🍄🧸
Greatest Guitar Player ever!
Mahalia and Joe doing riding with the king's
That intro was guitar in anger. Awesome.
Joe at his fabulous best. I say again, if you like Joe you must listen to Eric Gales, Lance Lopez, Philip Sayce, and Simon McBride. You guys don't know what you're missing.
Her reaction sent m to the wood shed 😅
Annie, you should be one of the back up singers😄
The best breathing imo.
Joe is a MONSTER ❤
Live at the Greek Theatre is my favourite album of Joe’s. Please try “I’ll Play the Blues for You” and “Hummingbird” next. Also “Riding with the Kings”.
Fun fact: All three backup singers are Australian. From left to right, Juanita Tippins, Jade MacRae, and Mahalia Barnes, daughter, of course, of Jimmy Barnes.
You two are almost as high me!!!!😂😂😂
Notice Chillin's, Joe's fingers neverr leave his hands, not even a little....
jimmy barnes wife is one of the backing singers
I love your reactions! I love Joe, great entertainer. You two are my favorites!
And that how that's how that's done
You guys should look into the super group Jo’s plays in with Jason bonham ( John bonham of Led Zeppelin’s son) glen hughes of deep purple and Derrick sherinian on keys they are called Black Country communion old school like a blend of zeppelin deep purple and bad company all rolled into one
I would like BCCs music better if Joe did the vocals.
Going Down at the Greek Theater
Did you catch Mahalia Barnes !?
There’s a better version. Cold Chisel with some of the greats from Australian rock from the 80s, Knocking on Heavens Door during the Andrew Durant memorial concert
How much for that Flying Vee Joe is ripping on ? 1/4 million + ?
He is always great. However, this song was especially intense.
