    You re the best in the business mate! A video on the main differences between economic consulting companies (eg frontier economics, Cambridge econometrics etc.) and strategic consulting (eg big 3)
    But also differences between big 3 and “tier 2” consulting firms (ie Accenture, Oliver Wyman)

    Loving the videos, very insightful and honest! Would love to hear your thoughts on the role of a fresh MBA graduate in the role of Associate; what they do day-to-day, salary/bonuses etc etc. Keep up the great content!

    I know degrees are irrelevant on the job, which begs the question, WHY do they make us study it? Sending signals an individual can learn and do well is surely signalled at A-Levels anyway? Uni wastes 3 years of time and money. Especially when the firm provide top dollar training...

    Real testimony here : dropped out of school in 2016 from a Sociology degree to work for banks in Canada. Went through a few positions and just finished my Hirevue for GS yesterday. At the moment, no bachelor degree (1 course away this winter), 6 years of wealth management/retail banking experience, fired from my last job a week ago. Not even making this up.

    Hey Afzal! I want to get into finance. But I was wondering and have a few questions. 1. What did you do in your sales position at GS, 2. How does one pick which category of a firm to "join", 3. How difficult is it to stay afloat in the cutthroat world of finance?

    Dear Afzal, first of all thank you for your videos, I enjoy watching them and they have been quite helpful. Regarding this video, do you know if firms, specifically investments banks take into account that some subjects are harder or more time intensive than others. For example I study mathematics and statistics which is way harder than my university's business degree. Thank you in advance for your response :)

    if you've got a bachelors in engineering, whats the best course of action to get into finance/investment banking/portfolio management? MBA? CFA?

      Apply for an Asset Management internship and graduate schemes; learn about markets and try to take CFA level 1 first > above the above mentioned. If all fails, get lots of exposure and learn about business and economics and then do a MBA

    • @nickwilsonxc
      @nickwilsonxc 2 роки тому +1

      The fact that you already have a Bachelors in Engineering is very impressive. I’d get the MBA first if you can find an affordable way to do it since it will open more doors for you. The CFA is much more specialized. I would get the CFA after if either a job you want requires it or if you’re happy at a job and your employer offers some sort of incentive for you completing the CFA such as a promotion or huge pay raise that will provide a guaranteed ROI. Best of luck.

    Not sure if this was implied (maybe not do to that 2:1 rule) but what about if one doesn't have any academic background but rather self taught. Granted as long as you know what you're doing will that still qualify for entering the industry?

    Azfal, great channel, I learn a lot. My question is: I graduated with a degree about Communications. But I don't even get call about the positions I applied to. I have two Banking internship, and I started learning Economics at 8 years old, and I'm working on building a financial model in 90 minutes. What else could I do to make myself more marketable? Thanks. Btw, I have 3 jobs, one of them an internship a total of 100 hours in productivity.

    What is a 2.1 GPA equivalent to in the US ? Because to me that means a "C" average - and to my knowledge almost no one will hire an applicant with a "C" average. By all means it would be awesome if they did but I've always been told that you at least need to have a 3.0 or "B" average to be considered. If you could, please elaborate.
