The hip's remarkable mobility and stability are truly astounding, allowing for a wide range of movements. Your demonstration of these movements while explaining them was incredibly informative and beneficial.
"if you're trying to shoot vibes to the guy/girl behind you"...I laughed SO HARD out loud. Such a funny and useful way of remembering this pelvic movement.
The chart that listed the different motions that accompany pelvic rotation was super helpful to remember how different movements of the body coincide with each other. It was also helpful to see these movements demonstrated so that they could actually be visualized.
The demonstration of the movements of the hip and pelvic joints and your take on describing them was very useful in understanding them in a practical way.
It is amazing how mobile the hip is and how many different types of movement it can do while being so stable. It was also very helpful to see you demonstrate the movements while talking about them.
The complexity behind the joint movement of hips and pelvic girdle is fascinating. The detailed explanations are also very helpful for learning the movements at the different joints.
Having the visuals for each joint movement helped a tremendous amount. Doing the movements as well helped in understanding and learning the joint movements.
Your demonstration of the hip and pelvic movements were really helpful to visually see the movements. Sometimes it's hard to imagine the movements, but doing it alone with you was really helpful
I like how you provide us with visual representations for each lecture video. The chart including your demonstration of the movements along with pelvic rotation was also helpful.
I think that comparisons to previous material from this class are super helpful, like when you compared the hip movement to shoulder girdle repositioning. This makes it easier to picture.
Thank you for walking us through the motions. It can sometimes get a bit confusing but having the motion to associate with the term laid out visually is so helpful.
The lecture was helpful in clearing up the tricky portions of the hip joint. The hip joint is amazing with all of its different components. It makes sense why a hip injury can be so traumatic.
It's interesting to learn how much joint movements are involved with the hips! The demonstrations with the chart helped out a lot and it helped to visualize it a lot more easily.
I couldn't tell you how many times I laughed out loud during this video. Loved it so much -- especially the movement demonstrations. I did them as well while I watched the video and it helped me understand how the components of the hip and pelvis work together.
I really appreciate you listing and performing the movements of the hip. There are so many different types of rotation that the hips do and it is impossible to know them all without demonstration
I really like how you showed us the different movements of the pelvic girdle and having the table visible as you showed it, it really helps make sense of the other movements of the body along with the pelvis.
I like how you included exercises that go along with the joint movements, it helped to be able to visualize it! I also appreciated how you moved through each motion.
It was very helpful when you went over all the movements and demonstrated them as well. I also liked how we looked at pictures and diagrams of the movements as well.
I am learning just how important the rotation of the ball and socket joints are as an indicator of joint health. MIND BLOWN. It's not a movement we pay too much attention to because squats.
Following along the chart of joint motions and the demonstrations as well as practicing them is really helpful in studying and remembering the movements!
Catching vibes at the club will forever be ingrained in my head as anterior pelvic rotation! Thank you for demonstrating the movements. It really helps!
It's so cool how mobile yet strong and stable the hip joint is. I tore my labrum in my hip in high school and had it surgically repaired, so I always enjoy learning more about this joint. It was helpful to go through all of the joint movements as well.
This video was a very helpful resource for learning the 6 pelvic girdle movements. Knowing the corresponding lumbar and hip movements was very helpful.
This is such an interesting joint because of how great the range of motion is for such a stable joint. So cool to see how much hip mobility affects so many movements including basic everyday tasks such as walking.
After watching this lecture video on the joint movements of the hip joint and pelvic girdle, I found the vast amount of joint movements to be very complex but interesting at the same time. I really appreciate you getting out of your chair and demonstrating each motion, it made learning them so much easier!
Dr. Goodin, This may be my favorite section we cover all semester. I find lots of complications in my lower limb when it comes to mobility and flexibility. I am excited to dive deeper into these next two weeks in class and master the hip musculature, skeletal structure, and its joint actions.
The table with all the motions while having the active visual alongside was super helpful because I often get confused with some of the movements so seeing and confirming it all at once was really good. Plus, doing the movements might help you do the macarena better!
I really like how you demonstrated the movements, it makes it a lot easier to imagine the movements in my head when going back over them! The details really help make it less confusing!
Seeing you perform these actions made the movements better to understand. I always had a hard time visualizing and understanding the movements so the video images helped a lot too!
I enjoy the humor you had when you were demonstrating how to do an anterior pelvic tilt! That is something I will keep in mind how to do an anterior pelvic tilt
The acetabulum increases the stability of the hip joint is an interesting design. Deepening the hip joint and making room for the labrum to come and assist in structural suction keeps the ball of the femur into the hip joint. Also really cool how all the hip movements work together to aid in full movements.
The images you used in this video alongside the types of joint movements, more specifically the pelvic tilts, helped me to understand how someone might position their body to move their pelvis in such a way.
After watching this video I gained a better understanding of the different movements of the hip. I didn't know that there were so many different motions for the hip.
When you got up and showed all the different motions accompanying pelvic rotation, I also tried these motions and this was very helpful for my learning.
The chart along with your demonstration of the movements accompanying pelvic rotation was especially helpful. It was also interesting to see how the different joints of the hip and pelvis are affected by movement.
All of the diagrams showing the ranges of motions along with the table were very helpful. I usually have a hard time picturing the motions of the pelvis compared to other parts of the body like the arms.
I found the demonstrations of each movement a great way to engage with the material! when you get to practice what you learn it really helps with retaining all the info! thanks for the video!
In this video, Dr. Goodin discusses the joint movements of the hip and pelvis. First he outlined the specific joints (sacroiliac joint, acetabulofemoral joint, etc.) He then went over the degrees of joint movement (flexion:0-130, extension:0-30, abduction: 0-35, adduction:0-30 etc.) The table as well as the demonstration of the pelvic rotation movements was very helpful in visualizing and understanding the connections between the pelvic rotation movements, the lumbar spine motion, and the hip motions. Then Dr. Goodin discussed the movements (hip flexion, extension, abduction, adduction, internal and external rotation, anterior pelvic rotation etc.) The explanations of each movement was very helpful especially for external and internal rotation it was helpful to hear how the foot will move in the opposite direction as the midline of the femur.
This video was really helpful in allowing me to learn the movements. It is crazy how complex the movements at the hip joint are/how mobile our hips are.
I had no idea that pelvis transverse rotation was an individual rotation. This video helped me understand the different directions of movement of the pelvic girdle

The mobility of the hip joint is very neat to think about when broken down like this. Obviously we know that the hips move in different ways due to experience, but this was great to think about the different movements clearly. I felt a little goofy doing all of the movements in my room but it definitely helped.
