I used to live in Thailand for 2 years. I'm now back in Canada. I found Mangosteen at our grocery store. In Thailand I used to eat them by the bag. The best thing I've ever had. I was hesitant to buy them here. I did, peel it and put it in my mouth and started to cry. Sooo many memories came flooding back and I haven't had them in more than 10 years.
The real use is in the skin of this fruit and the inside of it at all. dry the skin in sun for 2 days and store it. In summer months this is used as refreshing drink by soaking one or two rinds in cold water adding some sugar to it. Better than lemon juice and has more health benefits.
Thank you ❤ just bought some today for the first time and used your video to help. My mom always told how delicious they were but I never had the opportunity to try them myself. They are indeed lovely 😊
Thanks for the vid! I bought a bag of mangosteens on a whim the other day at our local Asian market. My wife and I are always on the look out for unusual fruits we’ve never tried and we very much enjoyed them!
Thanks for this. I found this fruit in a board game called Juicy Fruits and a Mangosteen was one of the growing options. Bought a small pack of 6 the next day. lol Cheers
Hi, kindly remind you that it can be store the manggoesteen in the fridge ,try to avoid dry and heat environment .it make manggoesteen much more faster to ripe or if you want to keep it long time maximum 3 days . It will turn darker colour skin and leaf with harder skin once it too ripe
I would recommend you to try indian mangosteen . The outer part of Indian mangosteen is soft and sour and even that can be eaten . Inner part is same as you have shown . I tried east Asian mangosteen in the US and found it similar tasting . Cheers . ☺️
Love mangosteens as well. But how do you tell if it’s rotten? Sometimes I get some that taste a little off but not quiet rotten but it looks brownish….
There's no need to use a knife. Fresh mangosteen has green tops. And when you press gently on the purple shell, it feels soft like you can break it (but don't break it before paying for it). When you want to eat it, just squeeze the fruit and it will break open.

Nice video
I work at pei wei. Thank you for the coconut curry chicken🤤
How do you pick them?
Got some at the grocery in FL for $7.99 a pound, very nice, very smooth.
how do you know when its ready to cut open?
You should do a video with donut operator.
How does one know when it’s ripe / still unripe?
Miss your cooking show

interesting looking fruit, the sad part is that all this type of fruits is to expensive!
Only expensive in America..very cheap in tropical locations such as vietnam, thailand
It's cheap in my country too
it's only 2 usd in my country for 1 kg
@@aqilahhamid4642 quite reasonable price
@@benfruitsexpert The costs to export the fruits here is what drives up the price, no way am I paying 12.99$/lb average price for the fruit...
❤❤❤
u eat with the seed? i spit out the seed
Never heard of them…. Until I saw them at Costco
i bought today for first time in my life ,not worst to pay money at all
Saw them at heb the other day and bought one. Just opened it and it’s gone bad 😔😔😔
When are these in season?
Manggoesteen it's come follow with durian season, around June - July
It’s the queen of fruits. The mango is the king of fruits. Great video tho
When ever I buy them they always have worms inside
Here because of Donut. If only he knew how to cook
What if you dont have knife;)
What if you dont have a knife;) ?
I prefer to squash it with both hands to open it
I opened one and it was stinky like rotting feet 👣🤢is it supposed to smell like that?
Kinda has a kiwi taste to me.
Indian is the largest producer of Mangosteen kocum
i cut my finger trying to do this. its bleeding.
dont eat the seed!
They're fine..
did u..swallow that large seed? LOL
you can swallow it.. it'll dissolved with our stomach acids.
I paid 4$ for a piece just to try. never again 😂
Did you just assume it’s gender? It’s Queen of the super fruits 😉
Just use hand...
I just ate some. Nothing special really. Pretty good, but nothing there to earn the title of King of Fruit. Watermelon and Cantaloupe are better
Thanks. You save us some money.
Ha I didn’t like Mangosteen
Just bought some for my daughter, super healthy property’s in mangosteen
I’m subscribing to your channel because of this movie. Thank you for agreeing with me that mangosteen is the ultimate fruit.
