That Revenge of the Sith style saber fighting from Hayden was straight up lightsaber porn. Also I am glad someone else finally noticed phase 1 Rex chilling in the background when Anakin and young Ahsoka were talking

Hayden is truly the greatest lightsaber wielding actor ever. Ewan was great as young Kenobi but Hayden truly showed us what a chosen one master Jedi should look like with a saber. Young Ahsoka's lightsaber technique was epic. Seriously, a live-action Clone Wars movie with Hayden, this young actress, and Ewan Macgregor would just be incredible. They could do an epic-scale movie around a decisive moment of The Clone Wars that introduces young Ahsoka to new audiences, shows her relationship with Anakin, and fits nicely between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. It would likely get thousands of casual viewers familiar with Ahsoka's background who have not watched Clone Wars and Rebels. There needs to be a live-action bridge between the animated shows and the prequels to attract new viewers. It would almost surely guarantee more viewers for the future exploration of the High Republic on Disney+ and beyond.
I agree. It's been done. Star Wars is already overly reliant on member berries as it is. There's a huge timeline and galaxy to explore but I feel like they keep sticking to the same characters.
Live action Clone Wars complete with Hayden’s Anakin interacting with Ahsoka and a cameo by Rex. This episode was not just fan service but a love letter to Star Wars fandom. We love you too Dave Filoni. May the Force always be with you.
I think one of the best things this Live action did is highlight how young Ahsoka was during the Clone wars. Even at the end. You forget because of animation how young some alien characters actually are. She was still a child.
Biggest takeaway from this episode is that we need a live action Clone Wars series with Hayden, Ewan, Temuera, and Ariana (young Ahsoka actress) STAT. Those flashbacks were amazing and Anakin and Ahsoka’s chemistry was spot-on 🔥
@matthewmammothswine4395 I'm in my 40s, dude. I'm old enough to remember when 'Return of the Jedi' was viewed by many as being the weakest of the Star Wars franchise. Then the prequels came out, and there was a whole new level of negative reactions to that. The guy who played Jar Jar Binks was harassed so much that he contemplated suicide and George Lucas was called a hack who "lost his vision" for Star Wars. I'm seeing that same kind of ugly vitriol from today's group of complainers.
@@BlueHooloovooWell, Disney’s trilogy made episodes I-VI utterly pointless. It’s not even about liking it or not. It’s the fact that it completely destroyed Anakin’s arch. The rise, fall, and redemption of the Chosen One were for nothing.
I really hope we do get more. To see Hayden again, oh man, I can't even exolain how happy it made me. When Anakin disappeared I just didn't want to watch the rest anymore, I wanted more of him. I hope Disney realise we need him.
I agree with what you said about Ahsoka's growth. If we think about it, in the first episodes she fully didn't believe in herself or her mission. She was cold and emotionless like a machine, she even said that she has to believe in the mission, which implied she didn't actually believe it, she just wanted to do what had to be done. In a way, it reminds me of how cold and emotionless Anakin is in Ep III after he's dubbed Darth Vader. When Palpatine says the whole bit about the need to eliminate the Jedi, he replies mechanically "I agree". I think that in a way, right then because he realizes the implications of what he's done he shuts down his emotions for a time (or at least the positive ones) and that's how he becomes the slaughter machine we see in the Jedi Temple and on Mustafar, and the moment when he cries after all is done is like him turning them back on. I think that's what happens with Ahsoka too in a way, during ROTS she feels Anakin's shift to the Dark Side, then during the duel on Malachor it's confirmed right in her face and she feels responsible for his fall. Then with the issue of failing Sabine's training makes her feel like a total failure for also failing Anakin and the Jedi by not revealing in time what Maul told her. That's why she feels she's not a Jedi in and after Rebels. That in my opinion is what made her shut down her emotions like that. The mission to find Ezra is for her like a last chance to not fail at something so she takes it, but lacks true conviction. Anakin's last lesson to her is in a way similar to Yoda's "Do or do not! There is no try!" line to Luke. He shows her that his light side has returned, but deep down she still sees him as Vader so she's not so emotionally close to him. Anakin makes her fight and conquer her demons by fighting him as Vader (even without the suit) and sparing his life. That is what purifies her spirit much like it happens with Obi-Wan in his show during the fight with Vader and that's how she becomes Ahsoka the White just like Obi-Wan becomes the serene old man we see in A New Hope. Sorry for the long comment, but that's how I feel about the whole issue.
I really love the hints of Ahsoka's theme in The Clone Wars till the Siege of Mandalore and they used the theme of the Ahsoka vs Vader theme from Rebels when they parted ways. Also the hint of Battle of the Heroes and Duel of Fates blend in when Anakin turned into Vader was so epic!! My favorite is the scene where young Ahsoka looked in horror when she sees Anakin walk into the fog of war and flashed into Vader and back.
This episode was so good! Anakin gave Ashoka a gift that she needed. Her guilt about leaving him was 20 tons being lifted from her chest. I'm so happy he said they were finishing her training and he reminded her that she is everything he was. Now she will feel worthy to fully train new padawans. I totally understand why Disney put this in theaters. I hope Dave Filoni understands and feels all of the well deserved love from the fandom. This episode gave me goosebumps.
Yep I second that. We def need more of him before they all get older, he's brilliant rn. Loved the fact that we got to see Anakin post vader, it's just so satisfying to know that yea, he's gone back to the light.
When you make a movie franchise about space knights with 5 decades of fandom where people are literally flipping out over a laser-sword move (Anakin’s behind the back twirl), you know you’ve done something very right
There should have been some dialouge discussing Anakin's fall the darkside. All we got was deflecting of the of the topic with "is that what this is about?" From Collider: "Ahsoka’s “training” stands in the place of actual storytelling. By driving Ahsoka and Anakin straight into a duel, we’re robbed of dialogue and character moments that could heighten the story that Filoni is attempting to tell."
Yeah Ahsoka alongside everyone except Obi-Wan and Yoda had no idea why Anakin actually did what he did. From Ahsoka’s point of view he always was like that and he betrayed everyone for power. When the truth really falls into corruption from trying to save padmé from a death of his own making. But yeah Anakin just deflecting instead of actually explaining to her or showing her what really happened causes issues. Like I understand Anakin was trying to teach Ahsoka but him deflecting and not acknowledging what he did when prompted by Ahsoka just isn’t right.
This episode showed Anakin as a true representation of the force in balance. He used both sides, light and dark, to train Ahsoka. If he was nor in balance then he would have lost control like he did in ep 3. Notice his eyes were red like the Son's and not yellow like sith.
But Balance isn’t toting both. It’s keeping darkness at bay so the Force can flow (light side). I think just cause he showed himself as Vader doesn’t mean he was toting with the dark side and letting it out. When Yoda got additional training with the Whills, he experienced his tests (and they were Force gods / Light) and they were quite dark too. The Jedi Trials a Jedi has to pass - one of them is a fear test. I think this was part of her training, not him going dark side, but revealing to her what she feared and harbored inside and choosing to fight it (live). But I could be wrong :-)
@@BacontatsThe thing is, they made it very vague, so you can conclude whatever you want and you aren’t wrong. Personally, I hope we get more Anakin and a definitive answer on who exactly he is
@@andrewwilson9123 sure there’s some vague aspects to it, but with what we know of the lore, and what’s been established, there’s enough to somewhat deduce.
@@Bacontats Right now you have fans saying he’s a mortis god, an embodiment of the force that’s not really Anakin, or that the whole thing is a jedi trial, or a near death experience, etc. The list goes on and on. Right now, there isn’t much to disprove any of those claims
@@andrewwilson9123 Well you can disagree with the morris god aspect since everyone is assuming that because “he’s balancing light and dark” when that’s not what balance means. So 🤷♂️ based off of lord and mythos, you can deduce a bit and at least disagree with the assertion based upon what’s already been established. Or not.
I like at the end of there meeting, it took a bit for Anakin to pull himself back from the dark side, it wasn’t just a switch, he had to really focus to pull himself back, it shows he grown so much since he became a force god or apart of the force or whatever
This really was her final lesson to become a jedi by her master. She always thought that she couldve stopped him from becoming vader if she wouldve stayed, but he showed her that vader was always in him even before they met and he was destined to turn to the dark side. She also thought that she could turn to the dark side if all of him is in her. But she chose not to kill him. Thats how she firgured out that shes different and thats why he said there is still hope yet. Also I really do think that Anakin is now the pure balance between light and dark and that that was really him after EP 6. Because he remembered that luke and she herself said to him "I wont fight you" before. But I am really sad when i remember what we are heading to....ep 7-9
Dude I couldn't believe my eyes watching this. Young Ahsoka, Anakin in his Clone Wars outfit and the damn Vader transitions with Hayden even playing pre-armor Vader with a RED LIGHTSABER?!? This is stuff I didn't think I would EVER see. Honestly just give Dave full creative freedom and make him in charge of the entirety of Star Wars at this point. He knows what the fans want. We want more of THIS! It is obvious Hayden still loves playing Anakin. Just give him his own show at this point man. Hell, just make live-action Clone Wars with whoever played young Ahsoka in this. She was phenomenal! And man, my true respect for Haydensen. He finally proved everyone of the haters wrong when thsy said he was a bad actor. Look at what he can do with a great script. If anything failed him in the prequels, it was the script! Hayden deserves all the praise!
How is nobody mentioning that Ahsoka's eyes went sith yellow when she had the lightsaber to Anakins throat?! The little details prove why Dave is the GOAT!
3:50 Why is no one talking about this? “someone leaked my script for episode 2 and 3” OMG so this is what you were going to do?? Wow!!! You need to change it now. I can’t even begin to imagine how you feel Theory💔
The lesson basically was this one: Ahsoka had Anakin as her hero, to the point she couldnt she behind all thoose heroic battles he was an imperfect human being as everyone is. She remembers anakin as the perfect jedi, a hero who fought for the justice, leading his clones from the battlefield, as someone who never gave up, as a good master and as a good example of what she allways wanted to become. However in the flashbacks we can see thoose transitions like “every fight anakin won was indeed another step into the darkness… till there was no way back” On the other side, she remembers vader in a very different way, exactly as the opposite of everything she admired from anakin. If anakin represents the success for her, she probably sees vader as the uñtimate failure. Imagine if you could meet your hero, to learn from him, to be able to help him… if you were near to make your dream come true… however one day your hero turns himself into a monster that represents everything you fear and dssaprove. Thats why she rejects vader in that way. However, as i was telling at the begining, this was the last lesson from anakin, an anakin that now, as the true choosen one has perfectly dominated every aspects of the force, including the dark side. The message for ahsoka imo was to not be affraid of failing, since no one is perfect (even less his “hero”). The past is there to learn about him and to not make the same mistakes again, not to run away from the things we arent proud about. In conclusion, what anakin wanted to show her is she must continue her way, and not look behind. Yes, maybe anakin could look perfect, but behind that mask there was a lot of bad decisions, a lot of non propperly chanelled emotions anda lot of frustration… Thats what brought him to the darkness. On the other hand, vader, even if he wanted to become so evil, the fact is he never stoped leading his soldiers from the frontlane, taking the same risks as them, he gave Luke many chances when any other sith would’ve just finished it there, and he still had some little piece of goodness that brought him to the light again. Ofc, anakin was good and vader was evil, but the point is no one is 100% perfect or 100% bad, and we all allways have the choice to change and improve. Maybe the answet to ahsoka from anakin was , “yes padawan, you are going to fail, one time and another, the difference is if you want to make thoose failures yours or if you want to learn from them. Someday you will success, but that is not going to happen if you dont even try”
This episode was absolutely incredible. One of the best Star Wars things I’ve ever seen. Seeing a live action recreation of The Clone Wars and seeing Hayden as Anakin as well as a live action young Ahsoka and Rex was all something I’ve wanted to see for as long as I can remember and it was handled unbelievably well. Beautifully written episode, paying homage to the clone wars and Ashokas character arc. Rosario really is growing into the Ashoka character, and her robes at the end wow what a character evolution. loved the younger actors portrayal of Ashoka in the flash backs. I'll say it again, Dave Filoni needs to own Star Wars. Facts!!! I had so many emotions watching this episode... its the most 10/10 Star Wars that I can remember. Hayden nailed it and seeing Anakin again, just wow... 😢
Anakin is truly the chosen one. I think he's attained perfect balance and has assumed his place in the cosmic force as the embodiment of a Mortis god, likely the Father, or a representative of all three (father, son, daughter). He can manipulate all facets of the force to his will, and seems to have power in the World Between Worlds like we haven't seen. DAVE...
‘This is from my script’, we gonna pretend Dave didn’t plan out Ahsoka’s cleansing and renewal on mortis after surviving Vader or Mortis? Lmao. He literally released art work
Incredible episode. 👏 Really curious to learn more about the Vader 2 script issue though, I hope Theory talks more about it soon and it can be resolved, one way or another.
Say what you want but I'm all for seeing Hayden again. Much less him vs Rosario. Now that was crazy. I'm still trying to make sense of it tho, kinda. I get that he is teaching her a lesson but he seemed darker towards her than usual. Maybe that was the point? I hope we get to see more of him. And we got to see Rex! For like 3 secs but I'm all for it guys! I still need to see how this is gonna end.
Hayden Christensen is a national treasure & he must continue being in Star Wars for a very long time! Also we still need de-aging, face CG & voice AI technology to bring old characters to life again!😊👍🏻
I love his line 'I have heard that before' when she says 'I won't fight you', ties to Anakin fighting Luke. Masterful storytelling, and amazing pay offs.
I definitely don't think it was in her head. We saw in Rebels that the world-between-worlds can be accessed by powerful force users, and Anakin's one with the force now, it makes sense that he can exist there if he so wishes.
I haven't noticed many people pick up on it but when Anakin tells Ahsoka "You lack conviction" you can hear that his voice is merged with Vader's voice which I found really cool. It's like what they did in rebels + kenobi except instead of it being a broken/glitchy vader + broken/burnt anakin combo it's anakin's full voice with vader's full voice
Fan service. All Disney needs to do is just show some clone wars in live action or Anakin and everyone loses their minds. even if the show is terrible.
What an episode! Knightfall Anakin/Pre-suit Vader at PEAK LEVELS is absolutely POWERFUL! No wonder Darth Sidious wanted Anakin! We all just witnessed peak Vader using a small fraction of his abilites to teach Ahsoka a lesson....if he was trying to kill her, she would NOT be able to stop him. That's mind-boggling and evident in this episode!

Thank you Hayden Christensen, Thank you Dave Filoni and I hope you see this but thank you @starwarstheory for uniting us fans for something that we all love and feel the same passion for. It makes you realise if Hayden had decent scripts his potrayal in the prequels would be even more off the hook.
His prequel portrayal is still the best Anakin has ever been in film and animation.
This episode made me the most hype for Star Wars in years. I honestly haven't felt like this since I was a 16 year old watching Revenge of The Sith in theaters. The Clone Wars flashbacks got me hyped & the Siege of Mandalore was so good that it felt surreal. We got live action Clone Wars Anakin, Clone Wars Ahsoka, & a live action Captain Rex finally.
Hayden still got it, holy shit! And I love seeing Hayden smile, it made me so happy!
That Revenge of the Sith style saber fighting from Hayden was straight up lightsaber porn. Also I am glad someone else finally noticed phase 1 Rex chilling in the background when Anakin and young Ahsoka were talking
I loved it. I think they left the Anakin sequence a bit too early. A few more memories with Anakin and it would have been much better. But maybe we aren’t done with them.
The younger Ahsoka was fantastic
Also an explication would have been great, we want to know why/ how Anakin is here and if he is truly the gardian of the WBW.
I am 100% fine with them not explaining his role tbh
That’s been the problem with Disney Star Wars, random timeouts where the characters explain what’s happening instead of the story showing us
we will see more of him. He hasn't said his lines from the trailer yet
@twentyfivemelody I think this was her cave experience. Luke had it and even Rey. She had to choose who she wanted to be and Anakin was her medium.
Hes in 2 more eps
I can't believe what I just watched. Dave seriously brought everything together here. From the prequels, to the Clone wars and Rebels.. THIS was Star Wars at its peak. Absolutely Incredible, thank you so much Filoni
Couldn't agree more. He gave back so much to the fans with this episode. It was already great but for those who watched Clone Wars and Rebels it meant so much more. I will never forget this episode. Also I am very proud of him, coming this far. Another humble guy just trying to do the best with what he has and getting to a point of writing and helming his own show and have a chance to use Hayden as a supporting character must feel really good. And he used him very well, I was jumping around like a stupid little kid and I'm 39 years old lol

Looking back, there couldn’t have been a better Anakin Skywalker.
Ahsokas eye color switch to mock Anakin was such a snips thing that detail was awsome
Did you catch how anakin said pretty much the same thing to her as vader in the sith temple? She basically says she's not going to hurt him, and he says "then you will die". Gave me goosebumps.

The clone wars are over bro what your asking for is redundant
There are so many clone wars pieces of fiction it’s time to move on lol
I agree. It's been done. Star Wars is already overly reliant on member berries as it is. There's a huge timeline and galaxy to explore but I feel like they keep sticking to the same characters.
Why are people watching Ahsoka without watching Clone Wars or Rebels?
@andrewwilson9123 not everyone has the time to watch everything. I haven't watched rebels but I'm not lost at all.
Live action Clone Wars complete with Hayden’s Anakin interacting with Ahsoka and a cameo by Rex. This episode was not just fan service but a love letter to Star Wars fandom. We love you too Dave Filoni. May the Force always be with you.
I kid you not, I have been in tears through most of this episode and was pretty much sobbing loudly in happy tears during some scenes.
I think one of the best things this Live action did is highlight how young Ahsoka was during the Clone wars. Even at the end. You forget because of animation how young some alien characters actually are. She was still a child.
Did anyone else notice that Ahsokas saber at first looked a very light orange when she and Anikan started to fight?
why does nobody ever notice that Haydens silhouette turns into Vaders when the lightning cracks, ITS SO COOL
Biggest takeaway from this episode is that we need a live action Clone Wars series with Hayden, Ewan, Temuera, and Ariana (young Ahsoka actress) STAT. Those flashbacks were amazing and Anakin and Ahsoka’s chemistry was spot-on 🔥
Love seeing Anakin fully embrace the wise old master with cryptic life altering lessons to teach.
This episode was awesome! Dave Filoni saved Star Wars
Star Wars never needed saving. It's always had stuff for everyone.
While heavily ripping off Jedi Fallen Order in the process... hey, its not plagiarism if its still within SW

@matthewmammothswine4395 I'm in my 40s, dude. I'm old enough to remember when 'Return of the Jedi' was viewed by many as being the weakest of the Star Wars franchise. I don't think we could've handled it, if she actually fought Maul in those "flashback"
- To add to that. Maul being voiced by Sam Witwer and performed by Ray Park.
@@officialmarquezdellamore6888nah Ray Park needs to be kept out of the Public. He's been doing very questionable things lately
When you come back to watch cause this was so good then we got the acolyte
Young Ahsoka is Ariana Greenblatt. She was young Gamora in Avengers: Infinity War and she was also in 65 with Kylo Ren himself, Adam Driver.
WHENEVER HAYDEN IS IN AN EPISODE.. ITS JUST... It just feels so good man.. Can't we just pls get a him more.. MORE HAYDENNNN MORE ANAKIN
Yes! Especially after how AWFUL the fanbase was to him.
The fact you had to quote “collider” says it all. No brain of your own whatsoever 🤣
That's my one and only criticism. I wish there was more dialogue and explanation. Still an amazing episode though
Agreed.
@@ollie5271Because the scene is ripped off from Jedi Fallen Order. Its Jaro vs Cal vision duel. Except in Fallen Order it makes sense.
Thanks Dave for jingling keys in my face!!!
I just realized Anakin swapping into Vader after the dream sounds just like the lightning strikes on Exegol
@@andrewwilson9123
Well you can disagree with the morris god aspect since everyone is assuming that because “he’s balancing light and dark” when that’s not what balance means.
We want more of THIS! It is obvious Hayden still loves playing Anakin. Just give him his own show at this point man. Hell, just make live-action Clone Wars with whoever played young Ahsoka in this. She was phenomenal! And man, my true respect for Haydensen. He finally proved everyone of the haters wrong when thsy said he was a bad actor. Look at what he can do with a great script. If anything failed him in the prequels, it was the script! Hayden deserves all the praise!

you don't need a clone wars live action show. the animated show is just that goated.
Damn it'd would've been more satisfying to see Anakin take on his traditional Vader form at the end there when he kicked Ashoka back to the WBW.
The lesson basically was this one:
Ahsoka had Anakin as her hero, to the point she couldnt she behind all thoose heroic battles he was an imperfect human being as everyone is.
She remembers anakin as the perfect jedi, a hero who fought for the justice, leading his clones from the battlefield, as someone who never gave up, as a good master and as a good example of what she allways wanted to become.
However in the flashbacks we can see thoose transitions like “every fight anakin won was indeed another step into the darkness… till there was no way back”
On the other side, she remembers vader in a very different way, exactly as the opposite of everything she admired from anakin.
Yes, maybe anakin could look perfect, but behind that mask there was a lot of bad decisions, a lot of non propperly chanelled emotions anda lot of frustration…
Thats what brought him to the darkness.
Maybe the answet to ahsoka from anakin was ,
“yes padawan, you are going to fail, one time and another, the difference is if you want to make thoose failures yours or if you want to learn from them.
DAVE...

I definitely don't think it was in her head. We saw in Rebels that the world-between-worlds can be accessed by powerful force users, and Anakin's one with the force now, it makes sense that he can exist there if he so wishes.
star wars theory thinking dave filloni copied his script is for sure the highlight of my year. Unbelievably arrogant.
When I was 10 I wrote a sequel to episode 6 where Palpatine was still alive. Why did Disney steal my idea from 17 years ago?
This just proves if you flash some nostalgia on screen even the most die hard Disney haters will fold and cave like a crying baby getting his bottle
