I have especially liked to listen to older relatives and friends talk about how they managed in hard times. When they went through the Great Depression and WW 2 when there was very little to be had, they learned to be creative, stretch out things to make them last and use what they had at hand. People are now, in these hard economic times, looking to find ways to survivve financially. The Cheap Life is such a fun way to learn frugality.
I was in a financial bind, when I had a small daughter. We played the FIRST YOU PAY, AND THEN YOU PLAY GAME. It made her more aware of financial accountability and responsibility. She is about to become a first time mother, and she really knows how to make her money stretch like a rubber band. Reusable cloth diapers and breastfeeding are in the near future for her son.
I met Jeff Yeager at a book signing in Morenci, Michigan. Such a delight to find a kindred spirit in cheapology.
Please keep on looking for and relaying ways to be mindful of ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

That's a great tip. I have a ceramic cookware set and the aluminum can damage the non-stick surface, so I usually sew a few of the produce mesh bags together.

Try using a plastic mesh bag that oranges come in. Insert a sponge and use a rubber band to keep the sponge inside- use as a scrubber for washing dishes as well as pots and pans. Works great for sliding the tines of a fork between the holes in the mesh to get them really clean. Rub-a-dub- SCRUB. Can hardly wait for you to host another cheap life show. .
