I had a few pallets that were in excellent condition, I removed all the top boards and put them in a picture frame, that gave me a hanging board. Works like a cork board. I also built a few wooden crates that I keep in the trunk of my car to stop stuff from rolling around.

Do you like the look of hardwood floors with character (the nail holes and other blemishes add the character)? Use the slats from the pallets. A lot of work but I think they look fantastic and you end up with a fabulous up-cycled hardwood floor that cost you zero except your time. Good luck cheapies.

I made a compost bin out of pallets
