That was a good move changing out the rear cover. That B&M will allow the rear to hold more fluid than factory and thus the fluid to stay cooler and longevity too. It's coming along well. Who cares what the outside looks like she is all motor and goodies..thanks for sharing Kyle. Have a good day or night of you read this.
On a side note, I love listening to the rain on your shop! It’s so calming! Great job there Kyke, you’re really making good progress. What an amazing truck.
I'm looking at doing this exact swap. There's typically 3-5 of them at the junkyards I go to. I'm going this way because it has the right bolt pattern and I can buy brake parts at the local auto parts store.
Digging the white on gray (maybe gunmetal with gunmetal rims to go with?) and red interior. I think a red paint job with a red interior might be too much. Great content as always!
Sad to see it's going to be white, but since you mentioned it; pearl white and metalic gray. I bet you could find some Bravada body moldings to make work, too.
Aniq Hanafi I don’t know yet, I haven’t really wanted to work on it with everything else I have going on. Once this truck gets on the road, I’m hoping I can be freed up a bit to get some more work done on the 240.
Just found your channel so my question is do you have contact information for the company you got the rear end from? I looked on Google maps but no results.
How much was the rear end? I'm looking at 9" from quick performance setup for an s10. They're 680 for housing and axles. 1800 complete with disc brakes and center section of choice
Great work as always, my dude. Your vids always come through at just the right time. Can't wait to see her when she's all buttoned up and driving down the road 👌 Any possibility of a future project involving a Syclone or Typhoon? Or a Baja S10 maybe...
Interesting, the B&M cover looks a lot like and has similar design features to the T/A Differential girdle cover. How are you liking the Duragrip diff?
AnthonyJ350 Yeah man, it’s very similar. There’s a handful of companies that make covers like this. Hopefully it won’t be too long before I find out! There’s a specific break in procedure that I need to do for the rear end so it’s going to get gentle treatment for a little bit at least.
@@saabkyle04 Right on, I like that the cover has the factory curve and isn't flat. Gale Banks did a did on it, on how flat back covers aren't that great. Awesome videos as always man!
I agree! I am saying that because I am an engineer. The original was designed to allow the flow of oil to the carrier bearings. The aftermarket covers have no provisions in the design to allow oil to flow directly to the bearings...
Sooooooo. Late to the vid but had this same problem on a 10 blot. Turned out being the pinion shim. Not set right you will have to load one side of the carrier with more shims, aaaaaand now your Axle is short on one side and long on the other.
Kyle nothing boring, heck I’d watch live/actual time building. With so many potential rear axle choices why not use something factory like a Hummer H3 Alpha axle with the 5.3 Vortec? Or newer S10 with the 4.3 or the older Chevy Typhoon axle? Custom is cool but, where do you draw the line? custom axle might as well go with a custom 5 link w/coils for smoother ride and custom fully boxed frame. Just wondering the thought process
Thank you! As I said, the 8.5 was a factory rear end, it was just modified to fit my truck. I think they also used 8.5s in Silverados, but I might be wrong. I was going for the "simplest" route with the least amount of modifications needed.
Hey Kyle, glad to see your doing fine amidst this pandemic, hope you're doing great. So I have a question, why would you delete ABS? I understand that adding it would be quite a bit of work but converting it to 4-wheel ABS would probably make it a whole lot safer and stop even better. Have you thought about converting it to a 4-wheel system from a later model truck?
No, the ABS on these trucks only worked on the original rear drum brakes anyway. It's not worth it in my opinion. I'm used to driving stuff without ABS>
@@saabkyle04 Well I was talking about a 4 wheel and system from like a 1994 Jimmy or Blazer. Those stopped better than the 2 wheel system. It is however understandable if you wouldn't want to as it is not an easy swap.
I will never use a gasket on the differential cover again. I did that on two different trucks and even with proper torque they started seeping over time. Every time I have installed the differential cover with rtv they have never leaked.
SaabKyle04 can you please do me a favor? I'm totally blind and am fassonated by sound, when the truck is ready, can you please do a no dialog Start up and test drive video on this truck so I can hear it? I'm just super excited, I've been blind all my life! It would be a good late birthday present for me because I'm turning 23 on the 18th! Thanks Kyle in advance
Hey! We are doing kind of the same thing to a 2000 gmc sonoma over on our channel. I'd love to hear your thoughts. What accessory drive are you running on this? Keep doing your think man! Love your stuff!
kyle, i dare you to not paint it, leave it, put black rims and just make it all work perfect but let it have that very used look. i love imperfect things sometimes. gets you to use them a lot more than the perfect stuff that you're always concerned with.
Thank you! I had to give up on the crew cab. It was too advanced for me and I'm spread too thin as it is at the moment. One of my friends is currently building it for themselves.
Damn, that's going to be an incredible truck when it's done, I'm jealous!
Perfect timing needed a video to watch thanks Kyle.
Thanks a lot!

You'd gotta love that impact wrench.
On a side note, I love listening to the rain on your shop! It’s so calming!
Great job there Kyke, you’re really making good progress. What an amazing truck.
RichieT5 Thanks so much!
Pearl white on this build would look awesome. Toyota’s Wind Chill Pearl is one of the best looking white paints IMO.
I’m Jon Smith and I approve the White/Silver color combo. White on 1st gen S10s are perfect!
Yeah man, I think it'll look nice!
Good job explaining the rear end up grade. Trucks coming along nicely.
Happy to see this project coming along. Keep up the great work. Love the s10
The white and gray color combo sounds awesome!!
where did you get the rear sway bar for the rear diff ?? . swapping mine as well and thought about adding a sway bar as well.
That B&M cover makes a huge difference! Good call Kyle!
Love your upbeat attitude! Your videos are fun to watch.
White/Gray would look sweet. I am really enjoying your builds. You are doing a great job.
NO WAY Thanks so much!
@@saabkyle04, you're welcome.
I like the white on gray paint idea!!
Nice differential, same place I got mine for my S10. Coming along nicely. You are making faster progress on your than I am.
That's awesome!! Thanks bud!
Nice job on the rear end. Very helpful. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.👍👍😷
Thanks pal!
Great video as usual! Looking forward to the next 240sx video!
Looking good! That things gonna be hard!
The S10 would look cool with dual Calipers in the Rear
Look cool maybe.. but not praticle if trying to do a burn out..
Car Connections inc. in Reidsville, North Carolina has reopened but it is now called "1 of a kind auto sales"
For my birthday that is coming up shortly I would love to see Kyle full send the S10
That rear end looks super cool and strong!
An essential upgrade for that truck. Keep up the great work.
The S10 SS wheels would look sweet on this truck!
Finally! I’ve been waiting for a video of the s10
Glad to have you back Kyle! Feel like it's been a while
Looking great man can't wait to see the final finishes great video
You and me both!

Pearl white over grey would be utterly perfect! Those load covers are very popular on Holden Utes in Australia
RichieT5 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
been watching and subbed since day one. why do you NOT have more subs collectively we all need to figure out how to build your subs up
Very good work kyle!! ♥️♥️
19:00 next project: LS swap the golf cart 🤪
Awesome video Kyle!
color combo sounds great!
The only kyle who’s not crazy 😂
those teaser shots of the monte carlo ss/ z-28 rim are killing me. i hope they go on the s-10. those are some of my favorite gm factory rims
James Hall They are!
YES on the white/grey paint job. That with the red interior would look awesome. S10 is looking great Kyle. Are you planning to carpet the bed?
Hey mike! I'm honestly not sure if anyone still makes bed rugs for these trucks, but that'd be sweet!
As always, great content!
So good to see all attention to detail on an 'old' S10
Would ZR2 calipers have bolted up better? The backing plate mounting bracket and spacing is different on ZR2 axle housings.
Digging the white on gray (maybe gunmetal with gunmetal rims to go with?) and red interior. I think a red paint job with a red interior might be too much. Great content as always!
I love that white color

The S10 is gonna be Tripping Balls with the LSD
Like you colour idea, go for it!
You should watch the banks performance UA-cam videos that goes over how these diff covers are bad

I love the Chevy S10
Who makes those bolt on sway bar mounts? I'd really like some for my 14 bolt SF axle.
It's a belltech swaybar
There's a 1/4" difference in axles length between disc/drums
Have you thought of boxing in the frame? Since you'll be making a lot more power.
Did the driveshaft fit or needed modification?
Sooooooo. Late to the vid but had this same problem on a 10 blot.
Turned out being the pinion shim.
Not set right you will have to load one side of the carrier with more shims, aaaaaand now your Axle is short on one side and long on the other.
Look for 96 and newer S-10 and S-10 Blazer with 4.3 and manual comes from factory with 54.5" 8.5 rear.
Are those limited slip and what axles 30 spline?
What website did you go on to get the rear end?
I have a few suggestion for this build tint the windows and upgrade to LED lights
it should be super cool if you use the GMC Syclone Fender, but modified with new decals (with the same font style)
You should add flames on it
How much wider is the 8.5 rear end in stock form?
I have video suggestion put your who entire gmc jimmy serries into one video called restoreing a gmc jimmy in 10 mins like throtl
What rear brake kit did you use?
What brand rear sway bar are you using? I’ve never seen one mounted that way with essentially no ‘ Links ‘ just bushings.
TheTennesseeTittyTickler The links attached to the frame, it’s a belltech sway bar.
Saabkyle04 Nice 👍

greetins from Venezuela i have a blazer year 1993 the reverse lights do not work, what may be damaged?
Do you have a 350 small block ? How many cubic inch ?
Very good
I have a suggestion for your gmc durmax, do a cold air intake, Fuel Black Rims, a exhaust, and a loud horn
justin unger Do they make the Fuel Black Rims for Dodge Ram 1500? i’m looking for some for mine.
@@starman9458 yes
Perfect video I was thinking if you can review the 2020 Hyundai Palisade
Will a rear end from a 88 camaro z28 work on a 85 s10 blazer ?
Is there a why that I can get the page where I can see some custom diffs
I will never use a gasket on the differential cover again. I did that on two different trucks and even with proper torque they started seeping over time. Every time I have installed the differential cover with rtv they have never leaked.
I don’t care what color you paint the truck, but I would leave it the original red paint.
Do satin green like the fbomb camaro. F bomb s10
Really missing the progress on this cool project. Can you do an led swap, like you did on the Jimmy

Great video buddy! Is there any way you can render to 1440p60 HD?
I really enjoyed this video because of the new apgrated hardware I wish I can use them to my police chevrolet luv pickup
Right on, thank you!!
when is the chevelle and the chevy c10 coming out also when is the 240 coming back
Can I have the part number on those low profile bump stops?
What about a semi style exhaust (back of the cab) a supercharger sticking out of the hood
Hey Kyle, can make a new coat of paint red? Red is my favorite color!
kyle, i dare you to not paint it, leave it, put black rims and just make it all work perfect but let it have that very used look. i love imperfect things sometimes. gets you to use them a lot more than the perfect stuff that you're always concerned with.
I've already done so much to the truck already, that'd be a big let down for me. I want it to look as nice outside as everything else I've done.
What shocks are yourunningfront and rear

Thank you! I had to give up on the crew cab. It was too advanced for me and I'm spread too thin as it is at the moment. One of my friends is currently building it for themselves.
The 8.5 was a waste of money. A 10bolt would have been a much better choice for this build
I have a few suggestion for when you finish this serries and in the feature. Restore a First gen Blazer, a first gen Sonoma, and a first gen Bravada
What about an update on the house?
@saabkyle04 what brand is that bed cover?
Charlie Wells ARE
How much was that rearend?
Film a review on your wifes new jeep wrangler
Hey Kyle that custom s10 crew cab is too much work and not enough effort, try and restore the C10 and Chevelle Malibu
