As an English teacher, I can attest that there is nothing like a good book to help you take your English up a level. I am not familiar with most of these texts, probably because I am in the U.S. I use the Grammar in Context series and Grammar Explorer series and love them both for grammar. Grammar and Beyond 4 is excellent for advanced learners who want to improve their writing.
That's right, those are some of best books to learn English well. Not only English Grammar in Use I also use English Vocabulary, English Academic in Use in order to improve my vocab
I recommend books published by National Geographic Learning, like 21st Century. I love how they designed the book to serve different aspects of the learning process. These books boost several skills and employ Ted Talks for that purpose. Communication-Reading-writting

Hi David, hello from Kazakhstan. In addition, I want to recommend books: Destination B1 and B2. There are many grammar rules and training vocabulary skills.
English File starts from Beginner level, not from Elementary:) I try and study English with this book. It's very good but it has some little mistakes especially in tests. The mistakes are in Pronunciation keys (incorrect answers to tasks on a stressed syllable). I don't know why... I bought this book in a licensed store in Moscow. Nevertheless, it isn't a problem. These books (Teacher's Book, Student's Book, and Workbook) are impressive. I have no cause to complain, because I found those mistakes by myself:) (From Russia with love (not war))
Good comment Sir. I find the difference between Beginner and Elementary to be negligible so I feel the Elementary book is suitable for most students to start with. I am not aware of any mistakes with stressed syllables due to the fact that I always ensure that my students are pronouncing words accurately. There can sometimes be a difference in stress from one accent to another too. I think your English must be very good so I don't think for you it's a problem! 😊 David

Very interested to have a gander at those vocabulary titles you suggest.
I have a lady student who's actually a high school English teacher herself and she'd like some material covering more challenging vocab within interesting articles.
As you say, the ol' text books (and teacher's books) are b***dy pricey. Spent a fortune on them 😢😅
Best wishes from over here.
Liked and subbed.
Jerry 😁👍
Thanks for your input Jerry. I agree with you wholeheartedly in your comments about books and prices. I am sure Japan is a fascinating country to teach in, is it not ? David
@@The-English-Professor I love it here, David and I love my work. My only regret is that I wish I'd started sooner.
Looking forward to trawling through your content. 😉👍
Thanks for the info.
Thanks for your comment Astro. Could you please help me by telling your friends and family about my videos and ask them to watch and subscribe too? David
English grammar in use was a superb manual.
BRITISH ENGLISH PRONUNCIATION....I LIKE IT!!
Thanks Diego. Yes I like to use what I call a neutral English accent. Please don't forget to recommend my channel to your friends. David
Pls write down the names of these books and their writers name. Thanks.
