    • @The-English-Professor
      @The-English-Professor  7 місяців тому +2

      That's an interesting question. The answer is that you cannot ask for a change of topic because all of the topics used require very little , if any, factual knowledge about the topic. All topics are general. Remember this is a test of your ability in English NOT history, IT, geography etc. Good luck, David

    Hello David, thank you so much for your videos, they are very helpful.
    I took a test to assess my level of english and properly choose the right exam for me. I did some quiz and a little conversation with an interlucutor and resulted to be C1 borderline, but I'm not sure, maybe I should take B2 exam...my feeling is that I could do B2 well, but just pass the C1 level. Do you have any suggestion for me?
    And also, do you have any of your precious tips for the listening part?
    Thanks a lot!

    • @The-English-Professor
      @The-English-Professor  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Gregorio, thanks for your questions. My advice to students is to take the B2 level if you are borderline. In this way you would be sure of a pass and possibly at a 'high pass' level. It would be a pity to pay the fee for the exam at C1 and then fail it. You can then always take the C1 or possibly C2 level in the future when your English has improved even further. My tips for the listening exam are basically to be careful because sometimes there is misleading information in the listening exam, which although seems to be answer is, in fact, not the correct answer. When you do the listening for the first time mark what you think are the correct answers and then on the second listening try to confirm that they the correct answers. I hope this makes sense ! 🙂Good luck, David

    Hello David, I have done the c1 speaking yesterday and in the third section happened a thing that you have never mentioned. In fact afeter a minute of discussion about the topic that was written in the page, the interlocutor changed topic and she asked me two questions different from the topic? Is this good or not?
    In addition she did not ask me the follow up questions at the end.. Is this good or not?

      Well of course it is not your fault that the interlocutor did not stick to the given task. As long as you spoke clearly and logically it shouldn't be a problem. Hello Gulfam Hassan, you need to prepare for the exam by speaking English about various topics. Start with what food you eat for breakfast, then talk about your daily routine, then what you did last weekend etc. Then when you take the exam just imagine that you are talking to yourself. The questions the interlocutor asks you are questions you are asking to yourself. This should help overcome your nervousness. Also try to read questions from the practice papers and record you answers on your mobile phone. Good luck, David

I deleted and reinstalled it and started the rest of my paper. I told the Interlocutor that I had this problem and he told me that its ok don't worry, I have considered your feedback, so don't worry and Good luck... Will there be any problem in this? After that I had another 2 hour paper.

      Just write down everything that happened during the exam with an indication of the time that each thing happened or went wrong. I do not know if it will be a problem but just in case, you will have an accurate record. They should at least let you try it again....but that is just my opinion. David
