You are speaking to the population without Metabolic issues.
You need to qualify who you are speaking too.
I think up to 65% of the population has issue.
First our primal ancestors did not eat liver everyday. The liver is less than 5% of the kill. While adding it is a great idea you may wish to limit to 2 times no more than 4 times a month.
Second. Fruits only comprised of seasonal availability.. And if metabolically compromised not a good option until you get metabolically healthy. If Metabolically challenged ..Maybe 2 times a week.. stick to berries
Honey.. Once again if Metabolically challenged you need to keep it at a minimum.. Say one teaspoon at the most TO NOT AT ALL.
The above is a more Paleo approach.
    Carnivore is MEAT ONLY..

How does eating no carbs improve metabolic health?

    • @Paulsaladinomd
      @Paulsaladinomd  10 місяців тому +411

I am speaking to anyone who wants to improve their health. Metabolic dysfunction certainly isn't caused by animal fats/protein, fruit, honey, or ray dairy.
I do not find any evidence that those with diabetes, prediabetes, or metabolic dysfunction cannot include some natural sources of carbohydrates in their diets. Carbohydrates play a critical role in both metabolic and hormonal health. There is no evidence that fruits cause any sort of metabolic dysfunction, in fact, many studies are showing incredible benefits of fruit juice in humans. If you aren't metabolically healthy, removing all carbohydrates isn't the answer. Fewer carbs from fruit and honey, sure, but zero, no.
In terms of organs, I recommend half an ounce to one ounce of liver per day, which delivers the most essential micronutrients in optimal quantities.

I was strict carnivore for 8 months. Felt great, lost over 60 lbs, energy high, but kept getting leg cramps and palpitations. Tried supplementing with magnesium, but palpitations still there. Added fruits and raw honey a month ago and this week i feel ive turned a corner. No more palpitations and i feel amazing. Mid 40s and i feel the best ive ever felt in my life. Carnivore was a great start, but adding the fruits and honey made it even better. BTW, I've continued to lose weight even consuming fruits and honey. The phrase that you will not get fat eating fruits and honey seems to hold true thus far in my experience.

My doc told me, you either start eating meat or I must put you on iron pills but you can risk hair loss etc telling the truth it was extremely difficult to put meat in my mouth. I started with chicken liver and slowly continued. I was slim all my life so did not look for weight loss. I was vegan for 6 years and to be honest I felt very healthy and was at peak performance however I was young 19-25. Either way I didn’t feel called to continue and for the past year or so since then started eating like normal people leaning towards “traditional healthy eating”. Soon I gained a bunch of weight and started experiencing mass inflammation, congestion, and snoring that got worse to the point traveling and sleeping with my woman became impossible and we slept in different rooms for months most days.
Noticed when I fasted 2-3 days straight all symptoms would disappear but obviously unsustainable. Tried keto as it mimics fasting in the body which worked to some extent but muscles didn’t feel optimal or sustainable either and strangely I found myself craving fruit constantly which never happened before but was concerned the carbs would throw me back into same problem.
Saw this of meat organs fruit honey raw kefir along with snore gym app researched and tried & felt better than I have in the past year and last couple months with no symptoms at all or snoring and have been able to sleep with her every night again.
Now we’ve been in Europe the past 3 weeks where this eating isn’t as accessible and far more pastries pasta etc and my symptoms returned with a vengeance and made the trip unbearably sleepless for us both. Last couple days either entire day or the last 10-12 hours of the waking day I’d only allow myself to eat meat and fruit and again all symptoms are dramatically almost entirely reduced. Yet I’m positive if it’s 24-48 hours it’ll be back to gone again.
This way of eating feels very healthy and sustainable long term and has been the least inflammatory way of eating I’ve experienced. Granted this is an anecdotal personal experience so don’t take anyone’s one experience as gospel. Use quality studies and your personal experience as the way. Blessings.

I would love to a variety of fruit, but when it's flown in from thousands of miles away- no thanks. I'll stick to what is in season. Summer fruit, apples/pears in the fall and winter. I do make an exception for citrus from Florida in the winter. At least that is USA grown. What are your thoughts for us northern folks?

I have been doing Saladino's animal based diet and I can tell you that if we are just talking digestion I feel the best I have ever felt. Not sure about overall well being (I think that is still pretty good), but digestion wise, it is the best I have ever felt. I think getting rid of roots/potatoes and nuts and seeds has made a huge difference in quality of digestion. I never get bloated, I never get indigestion or heartburn, and I dont get diarhea or constipation. In the past I have had a lot of constipation problems. I used to blame it on too much protein because I didnt eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, but I also ate a lot of grains and peanuts, and now I blame the grains and nuts and nut butters. But it did get a lot better when I started eating more fruits and vegetables. There has been a lot of debate on the internet about fiber, whether it does good or bad. In my experience it depends on the source of the fiber. Synthetic fiber and grain fiber seemed to cause me problems, but vegetable and fruit fiber seemed to help ease my problems. Also I think getting rid of ALL sources of linoleic acid has helped (and may also be helping with digestion). I think people who are on conventional carnivore diets are still getting too much linoleic acid from grain fed pork, chicken and eggs, and farm raised fish, and that is why they are not getting as good of results as some other people. I did a 100% carnivore diet for 3 months, and it did a lot of good but it also caused some problems.

I see a lot of people giving doc a hard time about adding fruit and honey. For 99% of the population if you're eating only meat, fruit, and honey, you're gonna be healthy. If you have sugar addiction because of past SAD you have been on, then cut out the fruit and honey. I happen to be a guy with a sugar addiction so I can't have any of it. But man if you can add a little fruit and honey to your meat diet, that is awesome.

For yearts I've been meatheavy keto, then tried carnivore (I just lowered my vegs and fruits to 0 and felt a little better but no difference at gym, but after being fat adapted for years I learned not to chase my ketones anymore), now being +1 year on animal based with 200g minimum of animal protein, good amount of fats, raw milk, daily kefir and fruits I feel this is the version of me, gym experience lifted up. Of course this WOE is gonna be hated for many years because of WHO-brainwashed people, but still, when meat and fruits are not banned in this already woke world, we're good.

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with overcoming eczema. It was pretty rough, constantly itchy and uncomfortable. I tried the Paul Saladino animal-based diet, and things actually improved! My skin felt better, but I noticed it wasn't just the animal aspect. Through trial and error, I discovered that pork and pork products were the real triggers for my flare-ups! So, I cut out all things pork, and guess what? Eczema, completely gone! It's been amazing. While the animal-based diet helped initially, eliminating pork was the key for me. If you're struggling with eczema, I encourage you to experiment and see what works best for your body. Everyone's different, and finding what soothes your skin can be life-changing!

I think it’s hilarious all the fruit haters. Like how illogical can you be? If humans were in the wild and ate only off of instinct we would for sure be eating fruits, and prefer them. They take zero technology to consume. In the tropics, fruit is available year round also. And the claim that fruit was smaller or less sweet back when we lived in the tropics (humans natural environment), is a bunch of BS. We can’t claim to know how the fruit was back then, nothing is preserved in tropical climates. It all decays quickly. But it only makes sense it’s an ideal human food because it’s instinctual to want to eat and our closest animal ancestors live mainly on it. Like come on. The emotional bias because people in the states have only ever eaten shitty quality unripe fruit available in our supermarkets have no idea what they are missing. Papaya and mango are incredible and so nutritious. I can eat 8 mango for breakfast and feel soooo good and satiated for a good 4 hours. So are tropical bananas not the cavendish variety. Fruit helps me sleep better and longer and have less muscle soreness also.

This is more fruit (plant) based than animal based. I don't think Paul understands the difference between someone like himself who is muscular and surfs everyday and most people who come to this space with metabolic issues.
This much fruit and honey doesn't work for everyone. Sugar addiction is a real thing for most of us and one banana or a table spoon of honey is just a gateway drug to more carbs.
