- Christmas has become an orgy of buying under the pretense of giving. It's the time when the hyper-consumerism of our society hits its zenith and becomes truly obscene in its lust, envy and hunger for more.

Thanks for watching!
I stopped buying Christmas presents 4 years ago and told everyone I don't need nor expect anything. I truly want to spend time together instead... PRESENCE instead of presents. It's wonderful!
Very wise Wendy. That's a great saying!
Beautifully said.
I’ve been saying that for a few years myself.
my great grandma gave us a package of under wear for christmas and our great grandpa gave us 1.00 worth of pennies more than they should of and the only thing he ever owned was a fiddle and a horse
when i buy gifts I always buy food, something nice they can stuff in their face
Bob you are a good person who genuinely cares about other people, I admire your kindness towards everyone
bob, i have been living that way without really realizing it...after a divorce and loss of a son, 10 years ago i had moved onto a old boat (living space of 200 sq, ft) it unfortunately it sank (hitting a deadhead) and moved into a 160 sq. ft. of rv trailer and never thought of it as a minimalist life style, it's just what i did !!!
i live so cheap, my pension covers everything i 'need' , my rent space is $200 monthly (on a river and 1 mile from the ocean in a farm area in the country) and my truck and canopy is set up for camping, so i believe i'm really free and i'm happy !!!
Merry Christmas
Billy, we all just play the cards we are dealt, and it sounds to me like you played yours superbly well!
CheapRVliving Please read my post.
$200.00 a month AND 1 mile to the beach?! Are you looking for any friendly neighbors?
: )
Please, tell me where your location is. :-)
I have been thinking like a minimalist for 10 years trying to find mining to my existence im so happy to have found a name for this way of living
Expectations are not just materialistic - but with family too... That is where I have had my biggest let downs, wanting to be wanted or needed and not having that - Your video is so true about letting go of expectations. I need to start saying: I am happy today and let go of my expectations of expecting other people to make me happy - wonderful philosophy!
You are very right. In fact, if you do a google search on expectations, most of it is focused on relationships where it is especially unhealthy and hurtful. But I needed to stay on a narrow focus here. Hopefully, there was something here you could use on relationship expectations as well.
yes! all of it :) thank you!
You did a great job Bob, expectation is a deep subject that permeates every aspect of life. I was taught long ago that every situation in my life that i (or anyone else) was not satisfied with, came down to three things; expectation, perception, and judgment (with judgment being a two sided coin of condemnation and discernment). The older I get, the more obvious that truth becomes.
Saw a TEDx Talk why we're unhappy
The Expectation Gap
Nat Ware on UA-cam
Lots of people agree with you
MJ Healthy Living (Miss Judy)
that's very good advice and I agree the same is true with marriage
Right on Bob! The only thing I would add is: Even if someone doesn't want to do the Van lifestyle, at least, find the middle ground; live in smaller house, buy smaller car, work less, spend time with family, etc.
raul aleman less is more!
Absolutely Raul, great point! Every step to reducing and simplifying an only bring more life satisfaction.
Oh yes yes yes I agree... My brother struggles to pay a huge mortgage cos his wife wants the house for their kids inheritance.. But my bro is deeply depressed, overwhelmed by money issues as he doesn't earn enough... I hate to see it... I lost everything twice, and it hurt like hell but actually it's helped me get a real grip on life... What's really important!!!
Excellent point! There are so many ways we can live more simple with less living expenses.
The best Christmas message ever. Thanks
I drive a 1985 Toyota Land cruiser, The other day a person come up to me & said why don't you trade or sell this bucket or bolts. I smiled & told this person ' it's all I need.
Craig Cottingham o my gosh my ex has a old Toyota land cruiser. one in million can't even find parts for it. he has been offered big bucks for it, but he would rather go a bit hungry or stay a bit colder if Thats what it takes to not sell it. That thing was one of the reasons I fell for him. learned to drive stick shift in it. I miss it more than him. I don't know how old it is but I know it is older than the 80s. probly a 70s model.
Patty Cake Go on line you should be able to find parts that you need. Yes they are going for a good price but only if they are in good nick 👍🏻
Craig Cottingham. well he has to do all that now, he is my ex, but thank you. I'm sure he knows all that. I will tell him though, just in case. may be not something he thought of
Rachel K wow I would have a very hard time imagining a person that generous Rachael, I honestly don't know taking something that cost so much would really blow my mind.🙏🏻
Rachel K That's my point Rachael I haven't accepted it so I don't know what your point really is ????.
When too much is never enough, one should try too little.
That's extremely well said!
I like that.
I feel more comfortable pooping in my bucket .90% of public toilets are in pretty bad shape.
Me too!! I know it is clean and safe!
That's a really good point!
Mate, what a sensational message that I think we can all relate to. Well thought through and delivered. Thank you.
Was just out at Wal Mart helping my gf get what little she could for her kids, her nor I believe in the huge machine it has become. The crowds are insane, extremely rude and annoying most having sub human manners...we both have PTSD and the crowds just kill us in several ways, anxiety goes through the roof. But I can agree with you on the insanity of all the materialism, I believe in simplicity and calmness and strait thinking in life. I feel like an alien and I do not belong to the masses they drive me nuts, call me anti social but I have my reasons and there good enough for me to avoid much of it...I seek a simple life outside the box, I don't care for most of the bs ppl THINK is important these day's...and is one of the reasons I am wanting an rv and when I discovered this lifestyle...I instantly became attracted to it.
Moon Dancer I agree with you anything handmade and from the heart is so much more important this year my grandsons and I made crystals to go on people's trees or they can hang them buy a fireplace or anything place where the light is that can touch them so they can go glow.. super easy to make out of pipe cleaners borax and boiling water and food coloring...
Moon Dancer it's tha little things and gifts from tha heart. Corporate America has killed simple lifestyles!
I agree with ya!
I ask my two daughters give me a letter not things and essay on we're do you see your self in 5 year's
simp
One of the best videos I've seen. Couldn't agree more.
Gaining a Child Mind is So Important! And Yes, school, television and life Beats the child out of you, brainwashes you, teaches you to be a good corporate person. This information is Golden!
This is soooooooo true. A lot of "stuff" just weighs you down.
Nicely done. I must admit that until I became a Christian my life, my soul, my very being was empty and wanting. Once I discovered the real reason for being alive my life was filled and happiness from within was complete. Merry Christmas and thanks for sharing.
Thanks!
I must share my bizarre and serendipitous evening. Tomorrow I am meeting my grand nephew for the first time and I have a small gift for him. I was happy with the gift I purchased and it fit within my budget. Then my sister sent me a video of our grand nephew opening the gift she gave him which was really a large box filled with a number of gifts. Right away, I started thinking about running to the store tomorrow to buy something in addition to what I had already purchased. Something he doesn't need because I felt my worth was based on the size of my gift.
Then, without intent, I came across the documentary "Minimalism." And as I watched, the stress of believing I needed to buy more left me. I highly recommend this documentary.
Then, near the end of watching that documentary, I received the ping that told me you had uploaded a video. When I saw the topic, I started laughing. The universe was sending me a message. Message received!! 😊😊
Lori, you must be in the right place at the right time to have all that serendipity happening to you. That's a very good thing!
That worked out well Lori!
Thank you Bob. Great words, wisdom and thoughts to share to the world. I am almost ready to join your joys of life, release the old and begin a new. Looking forward to change. Hope to meet you soon.
Thanks Bob! I'm in 100% agreement with you! Can't wait until I can get a van! Hope to be well on my way on my 60th birthday, which is in 2017.
Did you get on the road 🙂
But Bob, it's not a bucket. It's a chamber pot and that Is acceptable as well as being historically minded. See, if you write Chamber Pot at the bottom edge of the bucket it changes what the bucket is. I can imagine that would even cause smiles in the RV community. It would make me smile, I like cheeky little things like that. : )
aka honey bucket
Bob Wells and Wes Watson in my opinion are the two most influential and helpful advice giving people in the world currently! The two of you are polar opposite characters from very different experience in life but both of you preach a Divine message for happiness and spiritual growth and I sincerely from the bottom of my heart appreciate both of you awesome people!
One of the best videos on the internet.
A beautiful sunset, a starry sky, a pretty rock, the sound of rain, the smell of the earth after a rain, the silence in the woods after a snow storm. Enough to eat. Clothing to keep warm. Shelter. Water. Perhaps someone to love in your life if you are lucky to find them..that's enough. Great video.
Thanks for sharing this Bob! Little by little I am working toward what you and other “nomads” on UA-cam have been advocating. My transition to the “nomadic” lifestyle has been progressing gradually-and for the first time in my life, my thinking about my future fills me with joy! (I think it’s the Freedom that makes me so happy).
I watched this broadcast a few years ago and even today it still resonates a true, my life boat is almost ready.
Christmas has become the darkest time of year for some of us and I think it is because of such materialism. Yesterday, December 23, I was shopping in the "Christmas" section when I saw two employs feverishly working. They were tearing down the remnants of the Christmas displays and putting up Valentines Day displays. This spoke volumes to me. Christmas is just another retail event for the store and we have bought into it.
You are so right about being happier after we turn away from expectations. My entire life changed for the better once I did that. Thank you Bob for bringing this message to the world. I am just sorry that more people cannot see it. (Sorry for the long post)
Thanks for a very thoughtful post.
Thank you so much Bob! Even though you said your not christian Jesus himself said blessed are those that are like children. Very powerful message. And he said: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Excellent video Bob, you have a great way of getting the point across. I thought I really understood the way things work because I have been seeking happiness for half a century and thought I understood how it all works. This video turned on a couple more lights for me and I thank you for it. I have known for quite some time that WE are a product of OUR ENVIRONMENT and I have proven that many times in my life so I know that well. I have been working on changing my environment for many years because I want to change the product (myself). I'll tell you something you already know but it takes time and it is a great journey. Every time a new light turns on it just blows my mind. I find it so hard to believe it took so long for me to understand. Once you get it, you get it and it's soooooooooo simple. Getting past all those years of brain washing is difficult but not impossible. Thank you again Bob, you are a fantastic voice for FREEDOM! Hope to meet you all at the RTR this year (finally)! Have a great day!
WannaBFree Yes our environment I found really affects us Im renting in Orange County because family is out here but the busy ness of people and them always driving fast is causing me unneeded anxiety so I bought a SUV and will move up north to a more rural small town area I may rent a room at first but will SUV dwell as well but just want to get away from the busy ness of this surburb
WannaBFree also a great video on youtube is 5 rules for the game of life by Brandon Burchard
I know exactly what you mean, I feel the same way. I hope you can make the RTR!
Bob- You have no idea how this video opened our eyes and changed our ways of thinking this morning!
Wow, I can't tell you how blessed I am to hear that.
That vid was the best ! ! Thank you Bob and I hope to meet you soon on the road to happiness. Be safe you and Cody.
Thank you Doreen, my camp is always open to you.
Bob, I hope I'm not crossing a line by noting how your appearance so often reminds me of Santa. Having "Santa" deliver this particular Christmas message has me laughing. It would make a good PSA to run every Black Friday.
me too lo'l
Your videos are wonderful. I realized that everyone is not ready to wake up. I'm ready and working on downsizing and starting a new life.
You've taught me so much more than my own flesh and blood. Words can't express my gratitude.
Joy and happiness to you and Cody.
Thanks Margaret! The same to you and yours!
Thank you Bob for this video! I am the black sheep of my family for many reasons. I have always enjoyed buying second hand or receiving any hand-me downs. I'm happiest when I can reuse an item that others would find out of style. I feel consumerism is out of control. I don't need the newest and greatest. I have a wonderful job and love what I do but one day I would like to live a more simple life. I did not have a good childhood so I do have a few fears. I also have let go of expectations of others and just work on myself. Your videos have really helped me see how a simple life can bring so much happiness. Thank you for all you do!
Thanks Chris, you have my sympathy for your childhood, and my admiration that you can rise above it.
An excellent message that more people need to hear. Keep doing what you're doing Bob, and thank you.
It's my joy to help!
Thank you Bob!!! You have definitely helped me see what my major problem is... These expectations I have, have started to affect every part of my life in a negative way. You are an amazing guy!! I love your attitude!! Stay your course
Thank you Bob for your advise, I'm just beginning to change my life around from a home to an RV so I will be following your blogs. very well put and said with the truth about society. Happy Holidays my new friend.
you are right Bob, nobody has a right to judge you for living in a van, I have lived in a 19.5 foot camper for 13 years and I love it, it has everything anyone needs and really a lot more, as long as you don't go to bed starving, are warm and dry, have a roof over your head even if it is a tent, what else does anybody need, me and you have it made compared to the starving millions of people who live in mud huts, I can't believe most Americans are so judgemental, have a great day I look forward to meeting you some time in am saving up for another van to tow my camper, I think I will get a Chevy 1 ton van like yours, keep on trucking
Thanks David, you are very wise!
Great video, Bob! I completely agree. I just listened to a podcast about 5 days ago and one of the quotes from the podcast was "love people and use things, because the other way around never works." Merry Christmas, Bob!
That's a message we all need to hear over and over again!
Santa Clause talking about Christmas. Love it
Thanks, Bob. There is much in what you have said. Its also a pleasure to see Cody at your side.
Bob, you might not be a Christian, but that was one of the best sermons I've ever heard.
And yes (as a Christian) I can say that Christmas has changed over the past 50 years that makes me very sad... Christ has been taken out of Christ - mas. Even the name CHRISTMAS is being removed by corporations and Godless, unhappy people. "Products" have taken the place of the spirit of Christmas.
(You would be an excellent preacher! :)
PS...
One of the best videos I've ever watched! ... EVER!
People can have morals, be good, and be very happy without a god. Religion creates burdens and causes great expectations from others just like consumerism.
So terribly sad :(
Ron, I had at one time studied to be a preacher and while I am no longer a Christian, I try to retain the many great things in it.
Bob, so many of your words ring true for me, actually for all of my life. But like everyone else I've tried to do "what society says is acceptable" and have I been happy? Not really, not satisfied, not content . I am on a path now of getting free of spending and using resources as a way to make me "feel happy" and the road has been rough financially and I am stepping towards freeing myself of those financial burdens. You sharing from your heart has sparked that sense of hope and moving away from all of those expectations of how one should live. I've been watching and enjoying and feeling the "Gypsy Heart" awaken within. My Grandmother had a Gypsy Heart and I know it is part of my being too. Thank you so very much for the wonderful videos. I look forward to someday being able to meet you and be part of the RTR in the future. I'm planning to pay off my SUV and have thought often even before seeing your videos about using it for camping and how I can make a bed and store stuff! Funny how things show up at the right time in your life. Smiling!!!!
Please dont apologize, I listen every morning while trying to gain inspiration while watching the sun rise. Listen many many times. Will keep listening until I'm one of you
Brilliant, so insightful and POWERFUL.
Thanks much Kevin!
You are a breath of fresh air Bob. You say the exact things I need to hear at this point in time in my life that's filled with fear of not doing what society expects. Thank you. You encourage me so much. I know you said you're not a Christian and I am one but you live as simply as I personally think Christians should live because the excess makes me unhappy also.
Very true and inspirational. Thanks Bob.
My pleasure!
Merry Christmas Bob. I want you to know that your videos have been extremely helpful both mentally and informatively. My goal is to get out of the rat race and live a simple fulfilled life. Thank you so much for the help.
🎼Speaking words of wisdom🎶
Thanks, Bob for such an inspiring video. I worked and now I'm retired and thinking about buying a trailer or RV to travel in. Your words have opened my mind and I'm feeling excited about the possibilities. Bless you and thank you for all of your fantastic videos.
Thank you Kel! I appreciate it.
Most powerful philosophy I've heard - strikes so much of what I feel . I'm living a "conventional " life at the moment for my young daughter but when she's of an age to forge her own life I hope to break from the shackles of society and lead this more simple life !
I hope to see you on the road one day Paul!
I have been feeling like this, for years..although I am a Christian, I was raised poor, and we made most of the gifts..it has ceased to be a peaceful..loving holiday..Merry Christmas, Bob!,
Thanks Deborah.
💗Thank you Bob. I know this video is 3 years old ... but I just found it. Man what a message. You're so right.
I'm always depressed at Christmas time, cuz I always feel that my fragile body has not done enough. Things aren't "perfect".
I was raised to be a perfectionist ... and it has ALWAYS left me sad & depressed cuz nothing is ever perfect & "just right". It doesn't help when your loved ones tell you you can't possibly "do that". So, I've been second best. That's soul crushing!
I was always happy when we were camping. Using cool stuff to meet your basic needs such as preparing food and sleeping in a tent. Looking at the amazing stars. Hanging out with people ... cuz there's TIME to do that! Camping by a rushing river with gorgeous rocks. Just awe inspiring!
I've fallen victim, as most do ... to wanting stuff. There are "things" that bring me joy everytime I see them or use them ... and I feel so grateful and happy to be fortunate enough to have them. And saddened when they wear out.
I WANT to run away from society. From the neighbors that could care less about me. The commercialism.
I really think I could do it! Find my tribe of like minded individuals that find happiness in spending an evening around a gorgeous fire ... just talking and sharing. I could fall in love with that life. Cuz the current life of consumerism is soooo depressing! And you DO become a slave to it!
Thank you for your message. For being a pioneer into this new way of living happy with what you've got because there's always a great adventure coming around the corner! A field of WILDFLOWERS! How utterly AMAZING and should fulfilling that would be!
Quality life.
Not quantity of "stuff" life.
I will count myself lucky if and when I ever get to sit around a campfire with you!
Thank you for being "you" Bob. You are so appreciated and loved by many for the amazing ways you change people's lives for the better. Setting us FREE ...one by one.💗
this message is so true,,I wish my sons and sisters would realize that living with less is best. They have always said that I march to the beat of a different drum...because I believe in minimalism and don't settle long enough in one place.
Lydia brown Have you seen the documentary "Minimalism?" I recommend it if you have not seen it.
Lori Smith will check it out..thanks
Lydia, I think you are the healthy and normal one!
This video is one of the most enlightening I've ever seen and taken to heart. I'm closer than I ever have been to taking to the road and being free from the chains of life's destructive notions. Thank you, Bob, for all you do for us. See ya down the road!
this is your best vid yet bob..your philosophy is spot on!!
Bob, I wished I could like this video more than once. thank you!!!!!!
Great video Bob. Merry Christmas and thanks.
I agree with you Bob 100%
When you mention expectations and I see your best 4 legged friend next to you it is a clear reason why dogs are so special, they do not have expectations, just unconditional love and they are happy to have love in return.
Bugger!! we have so much to learn from them and less and less from society.
Have a safe and wonderful 2017
Arthur, you are very. very wise!
Very logical, critical thinking and never say your sorry for speaking your truth. I agree with every word and hope to see more people realize these very things as they move through life. I hope you two furry guys have a wonderful weekend. :)
Thanks, us furry guys will!!
CheapRVliving :)
I agree with you Bob. I am Christian, and the bible tells us the same. Things will not make you happy. Love of your fellow man and helping others is also biblical. I love you and your channel so much! I pray for you a lot my brother. May God's peace and truth and joy be with you. Xo😘
merry Christmas to you. I agree wholeheartedly with you that Christmas has become materialistic. I really don't like Christmas for that reason. be safe and enjoy life.
What a wonderful message. Thanks ever so much, Bob. Most appreciated.
No apologies needed. Loved watching this. Walking outside the lines of "normal" makes society nervous. Sometimes I wonder if they look at the nomad life and realize these people are happy and for the most part have chosen this life and it scares them. Some people live in their boxes and are happy, more power to them if so. A lot of people are not but will not break the "rules" to try something different. Thank you for 2016 and your videos. See you at the RTR 2017 in January. Looking forward to seeing & meeting the tribe.
I’m assuming that you shared this in December of 2016. I’m watching the video for the first time in October 2018. Thank you for sharing your wisdom. I drank the kool aid for years but I finally realized that I was going nowhere.
I’ve been watching your channel for about 3 months. I’m thrilled to have stumbled upon it. I’ve learned so much as, I progress toward becoming a fulfilled nomad and pooping in a bucket!
Be well and safe travels to you and Cody.
Well spake, Bob! Wholesome lessons, lessons the world needs right now. Profoundly spoken yet simplistic enough that anyone can grasp and apply this lifestyle if they so choose to let go!
Thal and I'm glad to hear I succeed to some degree.
I absolutely love this video! Especially when Bob emphasizes that we have to pay for the house that the toilet is in! "Break the rules!" My Grandsons live 2 hours away in a BIG modern house! When they spent the night in "CraZyGraNnies" tent, got to dig their own poop holes and pee wherever(away from the cactus!), they didn't want to leave. They loved my lifestyle. "Be childlike".
Not only is it a very good topic and always healthy to stop and re think why we do the things we do, you Bob, articulated this so well, I'm sure it has touched many people's hearts. And even though I really don't know you, I can tell that is all you hope to do is to be a blessing to others. Which you are, sir.
you sound a lot like me. I just do not fit in, but I do not care. I am more in control of my life now and it is empowering. It is good to hear form like minded people . best wishes from scotland )
Thanks, I envy you your travels!
Had to watch this one again. So true even more so today. Thanks Bob
Cody is such a cute dog he is lucky to have a great guy like you and Im sure you feel lucky to have him. I took my dog to the pet store today she was so happy she howls with excitement as we drive into the Pet store parking lot and she sees the store.
Your dog sounds like he is getting materialistic. hehehehehehe maybe too much tv.
I know this is an old video but it is perfectly timed for me. Thank you so much Bob! You are truly inspirational. I'm about to begin embarking (baby steps) on my nomad journey in New Zealand. Loving your channel!!!
Thank you so much for this! I learned much of it long ago, but think I need to re examine. I live in a senior apt. I am so thankful for it. Really think gratitude and that childlike wonder have carried me. Thanks again and Happy Holidays!
Being reminded is always a good thing!
Very serendipitous, Bob.
As an agorist, voluntaryist (anarchist), you speak directly to my own thoughts and convictions. I grew up "out-country" and never did buy into the materialism of Murikka, but tried to live the lie for years in order to be a "good husband" and father. It never did stick nor have I ever really "fit in", and every step I take closer to my roots and true self, the more content, satisfied, and happy I am becoming!
Thanks! See ya on the road!😀🍻
It sounds like you are a great path, stick close to it!
Appreciate you Bob!
Love your videos Bob.
As a Christian don't let the expectations of giftgiving hamper the joy of the season.
Now we have options of going online and never having to visit a store if that's your choice.
Some of the best gifts I've ever received has come from the heart and not the wallet.
Keep pumping out those great videos Bob you've been a great inspiration.
My favorites are when you interview individuals and how they share their own stories
you are right Bob, being happy is all up to you, and, I choose to be happy with what I have no matter what
That's the key to the good life David!
Thank you, Bob. I came across your movie/documentary earlier this year and immediately knew i wanted to live in a van. Recently found a van and am beginning the conversion! I wouldn't be doing this without your tips and wise words. I am young and am glad to be able to realize the lies of society, and that much less is in fact much more!
Great video Bob! I really enjoyed it.
Thanks Timothy!
You just cannot get all the good you are doing Now and for the Future to the world ! Go on Bob !! And Thanks so Much.
Bob,that was a deep video. peace.
I appreciate that!
Right on, Bob. So many people have become brainwashed by the promise of the American Dream. Myself included. Fortunately, your vids and those of others have helped me wake up, so keep up the good work. The hater-comments you mentioned receiving are coming from those who are still asleep, so pity them and ignore them.
The quality of this vid is amazingly clear. Thanks to Jamie for helping you make it!
John, that's very good advice! Thank you.
That was the best video I have ever seen I loved it and merry Christmas to you sir
You are a real breath of fresh air! I'm so glad to hear someone who comes across so genuine and heart felt with their inspirational way of living and experiencing life. I'd like to sit and have a beer with this guy for sure!
Joseph Campbell has a fantastic video "Finding Joe" subhead > "We must be willing to get rid of the Life we've planned So as to have the Life that is waiting for us" Bob you are 100% correct. I had 4 Ferrari's, Multiple custom motorcycles. Golf course homes etc LESS IS MORE ! Our culture is all about the MORE< >BIGGER< >BETTER syndrome and loop !!!! Most people are in a hypnotic trance! The buy, eat and repeat cycle ! ! ! Searching for the ultimate 'gotta have' purchase ! Instead of looking inside. Usually the last place humans in general look for what they really need !! !!! Yes... Corporate consumerism /materialism thrives within the masses sleepwalking through their life !!! Peace !
Jerry, we think exactly alike about that!
Thx Bob ! You are SPOT ON !!!
I have never met you but I feel I know you watch your channel every video I'm 61 and really want to be out there and free but I have a partner of 17 years that is in that mind set of have everything out due the neighbors you make so much sense, the day will come that I will get that van and live the few years I have left happy thanks so much for your videos they truly make me happy Suzanne.
Glad to know we aren't the only bucket poopers!
There's a whole bunch of us!
Best non dual talk, ever!
Many thanks!
Thanks Michael, the Buddha led me.
'You' are the Buddha!
Accept what is, let go of what was and have faith in what will be.
That's very wise!
+GraviTyKillz - thanks for sharing! I'm writing this one down and posting it where I can see it every day.
I embraced voluntary simplicity many years ago. It means being outwardly simple and having an inner rich life. It means setting new priorities and being more responsible with the planet. Thanks Bob.
I agree 100 per cent that people forget what Christmas is all about, and even if you don't believe you should remember Jesus said to love even people who hate you, we should really remember the reason for the season
Thanks David!
I , also, am not Christian, however, the true meaning of this holiday is one of love and kindness. This video is SO NEEDED and I thank you from my heart for posting this. I will save this to my playlist so that I can enjoy it all year round. Namaste 🙏🏽❄️❄️☃️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Cindy!
Happiness is a choice we make every day when we wake up. The only thing that makes me sad is to see such a spectacular species living such ordinary lives. Thanks for the moment to ponder.
Just a foot note; When I use a public toilet I always take a bottle of cleaner in there and clean it. Now I know that may seem weird but I look at it like this. I use their bathroom so I kinda owe them a service. I am also a little bit of a clean freak and want to know the bathroom it's clean. I also feel that it will be a nicer experience for the next people who use it and may save someone else from otherwise being exposed to germs. I often think how nice it would be to go into a public bathroom after someone like me but haven't yet had that experience :)
I love to watch your videos and hope you know how much you mean to so many people. You are able to say so well what we all need to hear. Thank you for caring and sharing with all of us. Take care and I can't wait till I meet you in person at the next RTR. Dolores
Thank you Bob for being true...I'm thankful to have found your site. Keep teaching& sharing. 🤗👍🌱🏇
christians are leaving traditions after finding out their pagan roots. you're right, it's all about expectatations...it's harder when you have kids or a large family. But unrealistic expectations have been high because of TV Land too. The older I get the more I am enjoying minimalism.
I found out the 'Truth Of The Gospel' 4 years ago and walked away from the traditions of men and the cultural pagan belief system we are taught. Christmas is not Jesus's birthday for starts, he was more likely born during the fall time, likely during The Feast of Tabernacle's (Sukkot) due to the shephard boy grazing sheep, well December would be in winter and would not be grazing anything in dead of winter, it's amazing to me I didn't figure that out till I was in my 50's..lol. Oh well I know now. So Bob is exactly on point here. Christmas is a burden as well. Buy.. Buy... Buy.. Excellent video, We are planning our escape to the Cheaprvliving, Bob you are right on target here.
So true! Thankful I've been taught that my whole life
You're a wise man Mr. Bob. I'm a Christian and it is a depressing time for many. Most suicides occur around Christmas. Spending time with a good friend, a few I love you's over the phone. And being thankful for what you have. What anyone thinks of me is nothing to me. I have no expectations anymore. All the trappings of this world is land fill. I've been giving things away for a long time. Merry Christmas Bob.
Paul states I have found to be content in what ever state I'm in. contentment is not a societal norm . that's why each year black Friday and the #1 gift of the year get more and more outrageous . take away all that and live content and things loose there power. to many things become gods for many coasting us time money efforts and happiness. trying to protect stuff that decay and rot and are temporary emotional fixes leaving us empty expecting more.
Very true Korey!
RatMan N LibertyHound Amen! 😉
