I am from Nashik. Nowadays SULA does not make its own wine. It just outsources manufacturing its high selling brands from local wine makers and applies its labels.

A good summary of Sula's success story. But... There is no 'world domination' or 'global brand slaying' going on here.
@@kevinroark5815 I agree. They have a few decent wines in their range, but no serious wine aficionado would choose a Sula bottle in a restaurant over a European, Californian or even some good southern hemisphere wine bottle (except maybe in India where the pricing would kill the competition).

Hi #ThinkSchool This Case study absolutely blew my mind. By the way I have a request to you. Please make a case study on Rajesh Exports Limited. It is a Gold production, refining, extracting, processing, retailing and export company which has even more turnover than Tanishq jwellers (of about 2 lakh crore+).
Key takeaways 1) Sulas target market is young upper middleclass so they have pricing power. 2) overall beverages market is growing and wine is underpenetrated 3) most consumption is happening in india which means external factors do not affect the business much.
It's a double edged sword, with more development comes overcrowding which is already very noticible on roads and traffic jams i hope our nashik stays a hidden gem

I was considering changing my investment strategy and planning to sell certain positions. As my retirement is coming soon,I became increasingly stressed. Monopoly in any industry isn't a Encouraging factor. But Sula is reaping benefits of it's intelligent marketing like the "Sula Fest" BTW Sula wines taste really awesome & it was the first wine I'd tasted
The Indian Railways is a monopoly and a fairly ecent one at that, although the Modi is fast tracking a lot of Congress conceived projects diligently to take total credit. It helps people travel throughout India (not very efficiently in terms of time) and transports goods across the country at a fraction of the cost of other means of goods transport.
While I understand this, I think Indians understanding of good quality wine is very limited. Also for other players to get into the wine market in India, they cannot compete because the pricing is very competitive and quality of wine is far more superior than Sula for it to be priced in that category. While yes they have a great market share, only when India starts to recognise the difference in quality of wine and the wine makers become more competitive in pricing is when Sula‘s real test can be compared. I personally find Fratelli to have a far more superior quality of wine than Sula.
Another important point that Think School hasn’t mentioned for Sula Vineyard’s success is that Rajeev Samant’s friend & mentor Kerry Damskey helped him to set up Sula Vineyards. He is an eminent winemaker in California & Rajeev Samant invited him to invest & be the master winemaker of Sula Vineyards. He also introduced the French grape varieties in India. Without his knowledge & help Sula Vineyards wouldn’t have been this successful now.
Rhododendron wine of sikkim is by far the best wine in India (far better than French wines). They are very low cost and extremely under rated. Please make a video on that. If it catch some entrepreneur eyes, there is a great opportunity for exporting to foreign countries , and can help our country's GDP
during 1999-00 I used to go near the Sula farms on bicycle in Nashik because that area was very less crowded & lush green. and after watching this video I realized that it was started in 2000 only. Although I am a non-alcoholic drinker, I have respect for Sula brand. All the best.
Only thing that worries me about the company is the rising global warming and uncertainty of weather ..which is the most important thing in production of grapes .. Or else i would have invested in it during ipo
Thank you for such an insightful video. Almost all recent case studies have reference to the 2008 crisis. Could you please make a detailed video on that.
Just like SULA McDowells also had its own marketing strategy they go to colleges and organize their events, and in Chh. Sambhajinagar they organized an event and they called big Celebrities like Farhan Akhtar in a music concert
Even as a presenter, you are indirectly promoting alcohol between the youngsters. For sure, after watching this, people are gonna try more of that Sula wine. I personally, don't think this video is made being responsible towards our generation and affect the youngsters. Didn't expect this from such a nice UA-cam channel.
A very informative and interesting analysis of Sula's success story. A lot of important lessons on effective Marketing to be learnt. Rajeev Samant deserves credit without doubt. I would request you also consider a study of Airtel's success in the midst of severe competition. Maybe for another day. Thanks very much.
It highlights that political lobbying plays a crucial role in this regard, although many individuals tend to underestimate the importance of such strategies.
It is sad to hear that our youths are drawn into western life style and become addicted to alcohol. It also sad to see that companies like this make wine is something fashion and mandatory for in the lifestyle. I personally would prefer this companies never exist
The foreigners drink wine to keep their bodies warm. As we know, they live in snowy areas. I don't find any good reason why our people should consume alcohol. Especially, considering our climatic conditions.
Something going fishy with this company, the sales remained flat since 2018 till now, despite the claims of growth and expansion. The increase in profits is because of increase in operating margin, which will soon hit the ceiling (increase from 14% to 32% in last 5 years) and only increase in sales can ensure growth. For those looking to invest after IPO, I would suggest to wait and watch as things are not adding up
While I agree in principle that Sula is the market leader in Indian wine market, that's primarily due to their distribution network, early-bird advantage and cheaper price point only. I don't think they are "killing" global brands because of their product.
I have been to Sula and spent time alone there. I would say wines which I purchased was country made but few of them were assembled under this brand name. But I like Nashik for its weather and beauty ✨
As someone who lives in North America, i can say one thing... Wine for us is linked to Christianity (Jesus turned water into wine), and has historically been considered a healthy drink (even though that's debatable)... It's true that it's mostly older people drink wine here, because older people grew up in a different generation... Younger people nowadays in the west drink beer, liquor and smoke weed... Most young people nowadays are atheists and have gone down the rabbit hole of getting highly intoxicated or drugged whereas older people enjoy wine as a family gathering type of drink

@JosephGreen7 I have been exploring the possibility of utilizing advisors to help navigate the stock market during these uncertain times. However, I am still evaluating their potential effectiveness in providing the support I need.
I was considering changing my investment strategy and planning to sell certain positions. As my retirement is coming soon,I became increasingly stressed. After thoroughly researching Christy Vall D'souza on internet, I concluded that I had made an informed decision. Thank you for this Pointer. She seems very proficient and flexible. I booked a call session with her too.@JosephGreen7
@JosephGreen7 I have invested with ShermanBosdike777 I made incredible returns on my portfolio with over 325% in equity across different penny stocks. I highly recommend her since her approach is impeccable.
Monopoly in any industry isn't a Encouraging factor. But Sula is reaping benefits of it's intelligent marketing like the "Sula Fest"
BTW Sula wines taste really awesome & it was the first wine I'd tasted
Wine market of india is too small
But if a non wine enthusiasts visits there, it’s boring. That’s why have to cancel plans as one fo the other person cribs
Sula only has 52% of the market and it's not monopoly there are many players but their Market is small and medium
I am 14 years old. But does wine makes u high???
While I understand this, I think Indians understanding of good quality wine is very limited. Also for other players to get into the wine market in India, they cannot compete because the pricing is very competitive and quality of wine is far more superior than Sula for it to be priced in that category. While yes they have a great market share, only when India starts to recognise the difference in quality of wine and the wine makers become more competitive in pricing is when Sula‘s real test can be compared. I personally find Fratelli to have a far more superior quality of wine than Sula.
Really great video, Sula is really a very big brand and one of the most important assets for Nashik.
#Nashik
Amazing & Informative video!!
Starting this video with Pavithra is the best thing 😍
during 1999-00 I used to go near the Sula farms on bicycle in Nashik because that area was very less crowded & lush green. and after watching this video I realized that it was started in 2000 only. Although I am a non-alcoholic drinker, I have respect for Sula brand. All the best.
Can u pls elaborate more on the risky bets by the other Indian wine company in 2008? wondering if it could even happen to SULA in future?
I never knew Sula is an Indian brand when I used to buy in the UK. Now will make sure will stick to Sula when I buy wine.
AMAZING VIDEO WITH GREAT INSIGHTS! THANK YOU!
Bro acc to my knowledge, UK still doesn't have FTA with India and this is even the political issue in UK when Rishi sunak became P.M.
Bro you communication is great and it really delivers right message!! Keep it up 👍
This channel is mind-blowing.... Astonishing reasearch & interesting topics .
Please make a video on how Rajasthan became no. 1 in milk production
Being a nashikkar i didn't know sula is this big, thanks think school for showcasing business study of sula vineyards ❤
Please make a video with suggestions on the uniform civil code so that a large number of suggestions can have a positive impact on the draft.
Just like SULA McDowells also had its own marketing strategy they go to colleges and organize their events, and in Chh. Sambhajinagar they
organized an event and they called big Celebrities like Farhan Akhtar in a music concert
Just love your content, Keep making and Keep growing!
superb case study brother very useful
Excellent. Very informative video. Keep it up.
Very well said and nice research, thanks for the info
A very informative and interesting analysis of Sula's success story. A lot of important lessons on effective Marketing to be learnt. Rajeev Samant deserves credit without doubt. I would request you also consider a study of Airtel's success in the midst of severe competition. Maybe for another day. Thanks very much.
Now that's called marketing!! I just watched a 15:57 sec advertisement video .
It highlights that political lobbying plays a crucial role in this regard, although many individuals tend to underestimate the importance of such strategies.
Sula is extraordinary, there is no wine which taste"s like it.
Samant brothers were merchant mariners ...they have a shipping company in india...named samson maritime ltf
Bhaiya Manipur hinsa ka detailed video bnayi ye ek
I once has their wine two year back, after that I just knew this is going to be global
Something going fishy with this company, the sales remained flat since 2018 till now, despite the claims of growth and expansion. The increase in profits is because of increase in operating margin, which will soon hit the ceiling (increase from 14% to 32% in last 5 years) and only increase in sales can ensure growth. For those looking to invest after IPO, I would suggest to wait and watch as things are not adding up
Loved the video very much.
I think SULA Wines should start planting Wineyards in Tamil Nadu , theni belt . The weather is just perfect 😊.
People in the comment section are calling it average in taste so I want to know how much does it export to foreign market.
While I agree in principle that Sula is the market leader in Indian wine market, that's primarily due to their distribution network, early-bird advantage and cheaper price point only. I don't think they are "killing" global brands because of their product.
I see
Your videos make my day🌻.
Feeling Blessed to have a such amazing creators on youtube.
A good, inspiring video after a long time.
Please make video on Maharashtra current politics situation 🙂😙
I absolutely love your content!
Wonderful explaination 👍👍
I have been to Sula and spent time alone there. I would say wines which I purchased was country made but few of them were assembled under this brand name. But I like Nashik for its weather and beauty ✨
Great content!
Unhealthy- please see above 3 links to papers and 1 to UA-cam on updated data
we are now waiting for the geopolitical case study. long time no video on that
Informative..Timed for the IPO?
After a long time. That old business case study content❤
Experience based marketing is more powerful than impression based marketing
I have only one doubt that wine has different policy as compare to alcohol? Did it come under gst ?
Nashik is heaven❤
Hey think school , really proud that our channel is going global 🇮🇳. What If you do a video on business sectors where India should invest to lead.
4:41 Blueberries in the picture?
those are grapes
@@gyrosphere7664 seems like blueberries 🤣🤣
To say the truth India is only changing in the riches and their business not in poor and their place.
Can we have economic case studies of each Indian states??#ThinkSchool
Please make a video on Paul John whisky as well and help us understand the liquor market more precisely.
Great presentation
