if theres an issue of central issues overshadowing state ones....why theres no single platform/site that displays every detail about the state and the central issues and what each party has contributed to resolve an issue and what issues that are not solved yet in an organised way. Such a platform would be very helpful for many people (90s and 2k most who dont care about them).
I feel like the digital presence of India's governance is very low.

U should have given example of odisa and andhra how people vote differently for both state and central gov.

State elections need to happen together at once and general election separately. That makes sure the local issues are not neglected and also we make it a point to get done with them at once.

Instead they should just pass it anyway don't you think the people will slowly get used to it as the political parties addresses this issue so the people will stillvote for state differently than the central election

Being member of Andhra who also votes for both Lok Sabha and state assembly at the same time, I don't spport ONOE as I want to protect my state specific narratives if given a chance and in case of a political turmoil and no confidence, I wouldn’t want to incentivise the new government to give freebies or clear large amount of farmer debts just to please them. As it take a long term (5-10 years) to bring some plans to fruition.

I can't speak for other states, but in Andhra Pradesh, where assembly elections are held simultaneously with parliamentary elections, regional parties have won 5 out of 6 times in the past 30 years. This clearly shows that "One Nation, One Election" won't necessarily diminish the presence of regional parties. It ultimately depends on the party's ideology and its connection with the people. I also disagree with your claim that most Indians prioritize national issues over state issues-it's actually the opposite. However, I do agree with your point that mid-term elections for short-term governments tend to undermine long-term issues.

Well the point about mid-term elections where party will only focus on freebies to remain in power for the next elections after completing this shorter mid-term is insignificant and invalid. As parties are still spending so much amount of money on freebies to remain in power for 5 years. Take example of Delhi where Kejriwaal is promising even more freebies. Freebies will be always used by parties until there is no demand from public side, which will eventually happen. At least ONOE will be more efficient and stable than the current system despite the freebies. And as more people become educated and oppose spending tax money on freebies as its our own money, the freebie culture will end.
I have understood that ONOE may seem much chaotic today but it has a long vision and promising results/growth in long term. It will definitely benefit the country a lot. And also...don't underestimate a voter, they know very well whom to vote on central issues and on state issues and this wisdom will only increase with time.
Whoever agrees can like this :)

    1. Unexpired term (lets say 2 years as taken in video) us time me koi party development ka kaam nhi kregi. It will just do some PR activities in the name of development and wait for next elections to be held after 2 years.
    2. Jaise ye kaha ja rhaa hai ki 2014 me 7 mahine model code laga tha par kya poore desh me laga tha. NHI. 3 months poore desh me which was Lok sabha. Baaki 4 states me only 2 months more tha. Total 5 months in 4 states and only 3 months in whole of India.
    3. Is new plan ke hisaab se atleast 6-7 months ka model code of conduct lagega. Firstlly 3 months for lok sabha vidhan sabha and then next 100 days (3.5 months) for local body.
    4. The most important reason as also explained in this video: Local voices will totally go unheard. Ek hi kamre me 2 EVM hogi. Just think. Aap jaoge. Ek party ki achi image hogi. Dono evm pe same party ka button dabake aaoge. Its true for most of the people.
    5. Then accountability khatam ho jayegi as explained with UP example.
    6. Ye constitution me articles change, sab ko synchronise krna to 2029. Ye sab choti cheeze hai and one time hai. Real challenges jo upar bataye vo hai jin vajah se ONOE should not be passed. Instead One Nation 2 elections could be there. It will be best. Every 2.5 years me with only 1 month of model code of conduct every time.

In reviewing the challenges and concerns raised regarding the parliament bill, it is evident that while the highlighted issues merit consideration, their overall weight is significantly lower than the potential benefits the bill promises to deliver. The broader advantages, including long-term national progress, far outweigh the identified drawbacks, making this bill a step in the right direction.

What india actually needs is giving every state equal role for choosing the ruling party.
Like in united States, thus every state will equally valued by central government after winning election.
Then states of north east etc will be more developed, more efficient whole country projects etc etc. It will be beautiful.
But the ruling govt never do that coz they won with influence of states like up etc😢

All elections at once is not possible
Maybe Lok Sabha Elections+Assemblies of AP, Odisha, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, MP, Chattisgarh, Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Haryana, Jharkhand and Sikkim might be held at once.
And during second cycle remaining all states would be held along with UP which can be held during midterm.
I say One Nation One Election is very much needed because:
    1) Party Central leadership's focus would be more on elections than on main issue which we saw during second wave of COVID when lockdown was purposefully delayed till May 6th 2021 I Guess when cases were rising from 1st week off April itself we saw what was the end result of that delay. Here all parties should be blamed mainly BJP which is in power.
2)More promising of unfesible non merit freebies or cross subsidies would happen frequently which can lead to disastrous State finances.
3)ECI's official cost of conducting those many elections is rising too fast. For 2019 General Elections itself ECI's cost was close to a billion USD.
    4) Even Parties funding rallies cost would be too high which eventually will be recovered through corruption in contracts. Here Iam not saying that One Nation One Election would completely eradicate this but atleast it will remain unchanged or same because spending would be only for one time.
Lastly its not that ECI can't organise such a big election ECI can. Infact during the times which date back to post Independence times till 1967 elections were held at one time for all. Do remember that time we had an unreliable logistics system and despite that ECI printed ballot papers then transported it till last polling booth and again taking back them to the counting stations everything was very difficult with unreliable logistics system back then. But still ECI did well.
Then to conduct One Nation One Election now India needs around 4 million EVMs for all states and center combined. But we currently have around 2 milllion EVMs as said by Ex ECI chairman.
I believe in manufacturing potential of India if we could assemble over a 10 million Mobile phones then we can pretty much assemble 2 million EVMs with considerable Local Value Addition.
But the main challenge would be to deploy those many central forces for safe conduct of elections.
I support this One Nation One Election

    Arguments against the cons:
    2. Overlapping Nation and State Issue:
Facts, Let's talk about Modi (biggest 353 seats) wave in 2019, 4-5 months before lok sabha BJP lost Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh Vidhan sabha, but voters gave full majority to BJP in Lok sabha.
Another in 2019 with Lok sabha election (parallel) there was elections in Orissa (Biju janta Dal: Full majority) and Andhra Pradesh (YSR Party). Voters are educated they know whom to vote and where.
    3. Frequent elections, even though costly ensures that gov remain accountable to the people throughout their term:
    Context of Mid term crisis:
Freebies are unstoppable until supreme court or election commission intervenes.
    -----------------
    Add this point to Pros:
    1. Elections damages the social fabric of India, How ?:
Politician divide India into vote banks of Community (Hindu, Muslim), Castes , Regions (Bengali Identity, Kannada Identity, Marati Identity) which reach peak at the times of election. Polarization at Peak.
USA is also an example where Black vs White happens.
    2. Voters turnout will be more
Every one will join the election, Every one can come home and join the election festival (This make democracy stronger)
    -------------------
    Additioal Point:
India is not new to one nation one election is not new to world, USA 2-8 Nov every 2 year, UK also does it. I don't think the democratics structure is damaged there.

First, I thank Think School to come up with a very clear explanation. Here's my thought,
    - ONOE sounds good but a country like India do not need them.
    - Phase 1 should synchronize state elections on a single day. If MP elections occur in 2024, MLA elections should be in 2026. These are two separate elections, One spent by the Union government and the other spent by the State government.
    - This Bill gives itself the power to actually change how the State elections are conducted altering the balance of power between state and central governments in India. This should not happen as India is a Union of States and it will create Chaos
    - Assuming Tamil Nadu spends 600 crore, its annual budget is 4.5 lakh crore, totaling approximately 20 lakh crore over five years. This means that 600 crore represents only about 0.03% of the five-year budget, and less than 0.1% of Tamil Nadu's total budget.
    - People's voices and protest will only be heard at the time of elections (once in 5 years), Prices will reduce only at the time of elections (once in 5 years), Politicians will meet public only at the time of elections (once in 5 years) and so on. Price reductions, including for gas and petrol, are used as political tools solely in the final year of a term.
ONEC will destroy the State's power of individuality. So Personally I stand against the Bill.

    • @dhairyamittal1313

But bro after onoe the party can shift the focus from election to actual work and it will save thousands of crores which are wasted each year in elections. Also rewdi politics might also start decreasing because no party would offer freebies in all state at the same time

    • @2kcreations721
      @2kcreations721 4 години тому

      @@dhairyamittal1313
      - India has the annual budget around
      2023-2024: ₹47.13 lakh crore
      2022-2023: ₹46.03 lakh crore
      2021-2022: ₹34.83 lakh crore
      2020-2021: ₹30.42 lakh crore
      2019-2020: ₹26.99 lakh crore
From 2019 to 2024 - In five years India has 185 lakh crore budget.
The Amount cost for conducting the Lok Sabha election is around 10K crore - 15K crore. It's just 0.5 percent of the 5 Year budget. (But the amount that each party spend is totally depends upon how bad they want to win the election)
In FY 2020 - 21 Govt is lost 1 lakh crore in taxes due to corporate tax cut.
My question is if the govt is ready to bear 1 lakh crore for the corporate, why can't they spent 10K crore on people who chose the govt for the next 5 years? India is leaking money through various forms and that should be fixed first if they want to save money.
      - States like TN are prone to natural disaster. Modi was able to visit TN numerous times during the elections and never bothered to visit not even once during back to back record-breaking natural disasters. And imagine the case for Manipur. This is how the national parties are. They only engage with the public during election season, and people's anger is expressed solely through their votes. This is a key reason why the BJP lost all 40 seats in states like Tamil Nadu.
      - The limitations for spending in Elections should be monitored and should take serious actions.
      - IIndia's vast size means that many states have populations larger than some European countries. ONOE will pose significant challenges in this diverse nation. Even if 10 percent population opposes it, that means for India it's more than 100 million people and it will create a destruction in Democracy.

There are so many points regarding one election one nation
    1) As an Indian ,my Chief Justice is being selected by the majority of Ruling Party which is the already killing the democracy.
If not counter this point with true facts
    2) One Nation One Election , the center wants to have good hold in South Indian States through this.
    3) Our center media is controlled by central party and state media is controlled by state party which is a true fact .
They wants to have hold in that portion
    4) One Nation one election can be considered as One Leader election as our voter have no proper education and rich people don't like to vote.
    5) We have seen UAPA side effects on so many innocent people such as (doctor in UP , Journalist in UP for covering Mid day Meal).

You missed the economics and costs of one election, like 800000 new EVMs just for comparison.
Also please add a sound deadning to your Mic arm and a cage on mic to avoid the Table thumb throughout this video.

I support One Nation One Election. The pros here outweigh the cons. Yes there are challenges that we can overcome with practical experience. But there is no relationship between Cauvery water dispute, farmer distress, unemployment with ONOE.

Elections are meant to elect better leaders, not to waste money. If you're concerned about excessive spending, set a limit on how much any party can spend over five years. Additionally, stop digital ads. It's shameful that the BJP spent over 100 crore on online ads. Also, remove political party symbols and faces from government schemes. This would be a more effective way to save money.
