Did you ever notice that (with the exception of unique themes like The Other Promise and Darkness Of The Unknown), the 13th Struggle plays when you face a boss without party members, and the 13th Dilemma plays when you do have them?
well, at least before kh3, the 13th struggle was the fighting theme for those members from castle oblivion aka from CoM while Dilemma is the song for the remaining members from kh2. also dilemma plays for example vs luxord and saix, who you fight solo, so sadly its doesnt seem to have anything to do with party members.
This is one of my favorite remastered tracks, because the only thing that made me sad about the old track at 0:47 was that the violin wasn't loud or intense enough. When I heard this remaster track and heard exactly what I wanted, it felt like Yoko psychically knew thats what I needed, like omg
+sonozaki I personally don't like that the signature xylophone that the piece starts with is more muted. That's what always heralded the fights for me.
The fight between Roxas and Axel made a huge impression on me for the direction of the series battle machanics. It was almost perfect, with bittersweetness and melancholy.
Anybody else just have the words *'TWO?!'* Echo in their mind followed by the entire boss battle play in their heads when playing this? Just me? ... *BURN BABY!*
Even if music from Kingdom Hearts 1 could only be used, I was surprised that "Forze Del Male" and "The Deep End" weren't included, though with the latter perhaps it had to do with the fact that aside from Ansem and Kurt Zisa all of the bosses that use it are Disney-originated (which is probably why "Squirming Evil" wasn't included).
Interesting to see who recognizes this song from Chain of Memories, where it's from, or from KH2. You can just tell by whoever comments about Roxas or who comments about Axel's amazingly quotable lines.
Some of people in the comments tend to remember it for kingdom of hearts and the quotes, but OG's remember the old sonic flash animations, and or sonic and mario flash animations from back in the old days
I love the way the composer uses the same theme but in a different context. For example, at 0:36, the theme played here from the piano is derived from the Organization 13 theme song.
+Klavair89 Ikr Saix was a pain... And tbh i actuallly found out about the peter pan trick on my own..... so basically i was running out of everything and getting whopped by Saix so i summoned pan, and then spammed jump + attack and thats how i found it out XD
HA, I couldn't even get to the data battles because of that last d*mn room of nobodies, and hard mode.....and also I suck. I should really go back and try again on easy or something.
Saix is quite easy actually. Same with Demyx when in Wisdom/Final form and keep on spamming Firaga. Axel's is a pain in the ass especially on critical.
I remember this is the first kingdom hearts song I ever listened to, at the time I thought it was just so so amazing, and it grew to be the most memorable song, along with the unforgettable main leitmotifs of course. Tbh the song itself gave me a whole other expectation on the game, I remember thinking the games would have a more final fantasy 7 kind of feeling, kind of... Dark?? Like, a serious calm and emotional tone and stuff. I visualized a battle that was JUST like if you combined the huge epic fight in hollow bastion/radiant garden and that weird 2nd area in kingdom hearts' End of the world with this song. The box cover art of the games also influenced alot what my expectations were. And the whole style with also a bit of legend of Zelda feel too it, I remember I also thought there was going to be a big fire area or something with typical bright and soft RPG sky colors, idk how to explain it. But this song is probably what represents what I love about kingdom hearts, what's most memorable to me is the organization and their story. What just really "met standards with my vague epic expectation" was Axel, he's probably my favorite character in the series, got it memorized? Along with him the most "Kingdom hearts style" stuff in the games are destiny islands, traverse town, hollow bastion and twilight town... I guess it makes sense since it's most of the non-disney stuff in the games. I haven't played KH3 yet btw
