Anyone else feel like final Xemnas is perfection in terms of boss battles? It's just you and Riku, the environment is closed off and cold feeling. Xemnas' quotes during the battle along with the music are surreal. It makes for one hell of a memorable finale to a game.
Sam Fisher The environment is actually surreal itself-there’s no visible floor-the area is vast and intricate, but nowhere. You can see boundaries all around you, but they’re so far away that they’re almost not boundaries at all, like being closed off in the middle of a cube the length of the Colosseum.
It’s a little easy for my liking if it’s not the data version, but it has a darn good setup.
I would have preferred if Donald aand Goofy were here too

This is probably one of the best " final boss" songs I ever heard. It's not over the top,no fancy flutes, electric guitar or ecstatic drums showing how “badass” the villain is. Nope. None of that. Here, this song is soothing, flowing, but also very saddening, like you are trapped with no way out, like Xemnas here must feel. He knows he’s going to lose one way or another and is fighting with all he has. This is his end. His demise, and I can feel that in this song. Gods damned that is depressing at best...
I'll never stop praising KH2's final boss sequences. They're fun as hell to play, awesome to watch, and the music sets the mood masterfully, especially with these updated tracks. Shimomura really outdid herself with most of the 2.5 remix ost.

@@skullplasma0221 Sometimes the thorns don't show up next to you, so you'll end up taking damage. My advice? Reflect when there aren't any around you, then when they show up, hit 🔺️. Should save you a bit of trouble next time.

Terra's theme can be heard in this. Goes to show that terra's heart must be inside xemnas somewhere.
Only a 3-note sequence of Terra’s theme can be heard. The rest is in the same key and has the same rhythm and solo violin instrumentation, but all of the notes-the musical ideas-are different: the two themes sound similar on the outside, but looking in, they’re completely different. Just like Xemnas is Terra’s body on the outside, but the mind inside is completely different.

Xemnas kept that info to himself so that he can use the other Original Organization 13 members to do his bidding and use the fake kingdom hearts to implant pieces of his heart into him to form the 13 darknesses. Xemnas is what Terra would look like grown up (with the exception of the darker complexion). After seeing and playing later games, Terra's heart is not in Xemnas as it was cast into darkness a long time ago, probably when Xehanort removed his heart when he Ansem the Wise's apprentice. A piece of Xehanort's heart is in control. In KH3 in the final battle, the Dark Guardian of Terra-Xehanort helped Sora subdue Terra-Xehanort and Terra's heart was returned back into his body. This could suggest that Terra's heart was being controlled by darkness and became the Dark Guardian for Ansem (Xehanort's Heartless). However, this would suggest that in the current timeline, Terra never returned. The Terra we see at the end of KH3 is the one that was from the past, during the end events of KH: Birth by Sleep, that travelled within the heart of Xehanort.

I think another thing this captures is the horror of Xemnas’ power- he could very well be wielding the force of Chaos in the sense of the primordial void.
In wielding nothing, Xemnas wields EVERYTHING.

The theme of Sora and Riku deflecting thousands of shots a second while covering each other’s backs.
The beginning of this song never fails to give me goosebumps. This is without a doubt one of the most memorable final bosses I've experienced, the music just hits so different compared to Armored Xemnas.
I love how every other battle with him up until this one is over the top, with incredible set pieces and large areas. This? It's a last stand. There's no blaring crescendos with a whole orchestra anymore, it's just somber and struggling to not die out. It's very fitting of a last stand. Which makes it all the more satisfying considering what fought through to end it here.
This song really hits different when you realize that you’re fighting a dude with ethereal blades.

I feel like Kingdom Hearts could have done a loooot better with the idea of making Xemnas struggle with the contradiction of his existence. They should have made this battle feel a lot more desperate and sad, like his convictions and the convictions of the ones before him are all laid at his feet, dead and buried. And yet despite it all, his nature compels him to press on and continue, even though he's either condemning himself to death or to a non-existent hive mind. I feel like this is where that struggle should have reached its peak, and then when he comes back in DDD is when that should have been reconciled
I did not think this song could get much better.. but man. the remastered version is fantastic. well done ps3
Path of the N It’s not really that it’s on the PS3, it’s that it was recorded by a live orchestra in a concert hall and played on acoustic instruments with no synthesizers (except the choir, they couldn’t get enough money to pay for that many singers).
This track... my body is completely paralyzed by this eargasm perfection.
I love this piece of music, really keeps you calm while Xemnas launches Electro-Balls of Death, fires weird static lightning, goes all laser spam and just generally throws shit at you from all sides. Love this fight so much more than Ansem's final fight in the first game.

Its so calm and serene yet the fight is so intense with the highest of stakes. I love the contrast so much, its haunting and incredibly climatic in a way.

Clayton Anti to make it simple, on proud mode you deal the normal damage and enemies deal twice as much. On critical mode, you deal half damage and enemies deal double.

I will not lie. Xemnas is one of those bosses who is completely calm and yet ambitious. Fighting him gave me one Powerful challenge.

Y'know, I played KH2 on the Original and International version, and I gotta say - Sora's diss on Xemnas being eternal in Japanese was crazy, way stronger than his English.

At rhis point, who would have believed all this amazing story began with a happy kid waking up from a nap to happy music with his happy duck and dog friends? Here we are, facing the lord of emptiness to save the universe.
Honestly the series could end right there. Kingdom Hearts 2 was the perfect ending to the saga.

If so, I would suggest each world in the order they appear, and field theme before battle theme. Still a suggestion, though.

I have played this on the PS2 when KH 2 first came out. Now I have a PS3 with both KH 1.5 and 2.5. Critical Mode on 2.5 is in no cake walk lol However, it is absolutely 100% WORTH THE CHALLENGE
