Xander Cortez Not really. Remember: Vexen conducts experiments on anyone he can get his hands on. If he had lived he probably would have saved him for himself.
Xander ????????? actually, this whole confrontation between Vexen and Sora was provoked by Marluxia, remember? Vexen outright said that he sees more value in Riku, not Sora. Marluxia provoked Vexen into testing Sora, but it was an excuse so he could get rid of him. Zexion stated that Vexen despises Marluxia, and wanted to *destroy* Sora out of spite for him. Instead, losing to Sora, Vexen settled for telling Sora the truth as a last "screw you, Marluxia!" Axel put him down before he could, and took advantage of his demise so Larxene and Marluxia would outright say that they were turning on Organization XIII.
So technically, Vexen was trying to save Sora, but only because he lost, and it wasn't out of any form of compassion. Vexen just wanted to screw over Marluxia.
When you think about it, Organization 13 still NEEDED Sora for their plans (Xemnas at least) so technically, Vexen could still be considered "a traitor". I doubt the organization would be happy with what Vexen did here. Then again, they had Roxas and then eventually Xion to collect hearts instead so maybe Vexen would've been expendable either way.

@@ronnierodriguez7578 He betrayed the Organization once it dawned on him that he cared too much about Sora and co and that Saïx, the only friend he had, was going to betray him in fear of Xemnas. Since he knew Saïx was beyond reasoning with, he cut his losses and left the Organization to assist Sora in putting an end to the darkness. Plus, he was getting tired of always getting stuck with the icky jobs.

The way I see it, they just didn't realise they had taken mortal damage and thought they could still recover.
From the manga it's a tiny bit more clear how they died.

MegaAudioSonic Riku was already weak because he was trying to fight back the dark. That's why he didn't draw his sole eater. Sora is quite frankly trash one v. one. In 3D young xehanort says that Roxas and Riku were really talented but they broke free so they were stuck with Sora.
Mitchell Paca Riku didn't simply give in to darkness. Sora has a strong heart but Terra and Aqua saw that Riku's was just as strong if not stronger. He was just unfortunate that they were against Xehanort. His plan is almost as old as him if not older because of time travel stuff. Riku barely had any idea what was going on and was lead a stray by Xehanort. I would say that he stood no chance but he somehow overcame it to Xehanort's surprise. He tricked Terra who was a keyblade master in all but name but green horn Riku escaped. Also in 3D the final fight was over Sora who was a sitting duck about to become a Xehanort. I am pretty sure if he got shot by Master Xehanort he wouldn't just break free with friendship.
Axel was already fading when he launched his attack... somehow, that just makes it worse.
He totally cast Nuke-ga there (Or, if you wanna get technical, Flarega. Which itself isn't an actual spell in any Squeenix property, but Flare is, and if memory serves, Nuke was what they'd called the Flare Spell in the English Translation of FF1 on the NES.) XD

Luxord and dymix’s death were the most sad for me because they were ( other than axel and xion ) the closest members to roxas, and in both there deaths they talk about roxas

I know I'm very late and you might not see this, but sora wasn't really aware, technically during this time regardless of losing memories or not. He was basically a glorified Heartless until the end of 2, per D.I.Z, hence the reason he dispised him so much.
I was laughing and crying at Axel's death. His death was so nonchalant but deep down, I was secretly getting crushed at him dying lol

Roxas confronted Sora AFTER Axel's sacrifice. It was Roxas' anger that allowed him to take form and confront Sora physically.
The whole entire reason Roxas attacked Sora was because of the pain he felt when Axel sacrificed himself for Sora. When he said "Tell me why he picked you", he was referring to Axel.

Southhs5115 You’re both incorrect, that’s not what he was referring to. That entire line was in fact a mistranslation. In the Japanese version, Roxas is referring to the keyblade, not Riku. Nomura confirmed this in a interview.

Luxord was pretty polite for a bad guy. In 358/2 Days he's actually very patient and upfront with information for Roxas' sake. It's a shame he has little to no other character development.
He is also so far one of the polite member even when he fights Sora. And there is Demyx (even if he uses Roxas to do his dirty work and do most of the missions), Marluxia is also pretty nice with Roxas during one of his first missions.

It kills me to this day that 358/2 days was redone in movie form yet Chain of memories was always put out as a full game. IMHO 358/2 days should have been the game remastered and chain of memories should have been the movie.

I would have been happy with them revamping chain of memories without the restrictions that were placed on it as part of the gba game that carried over.
You can’t simply remaster a DS game to a PS3, besides, Chain of Memories bridges the story of Sora between KHI and KHII, as much as 358/2 Days is important, since Sora is the protagonist, Chain of Memories has to be more important since it’s his perspective.
Besides, Chain of Memories was already remade before the existence of 358/2 Days, so remastering it isn’t as hard as remaking a game from zero like 358/2 Days

Albert Guilot I think it's for that reason. Perhaps they had the choice to wake up in the clothes they last had or their organization clothes and Axel must've kept the coat so he could travel between realms freely without darkness affecting him, like Riku and Mickey.

The way Axel snapped his fingers just seconds before he killed Vexen with fire was both badass and chilling. Especially since he said goodbye to him in a rather casual, almost normal way. Imagine if he snapped half of all universes away with that fingersnap. No doubt he'd be this series' version of Thanos.

Nobodies don't die. They vanish, dim or fade. Can't kill something that isn't actually real. Even Larxene said it, "Am i ... fading?" and Vexen was about to say, "I don't want to d..." dim? And finally, Sora himself said it to Axel, "You're ... fading away." ... ["Not that Nobodies actually HAVE beings, right?"-Axel]
Nobodies are just empty shells with borrowed memories. Much like the Heartless live in Darkness and Unversed as fledgling negative emotions (or Dream-eaters in dreams or as 'shades'). Nobodies live in Twilight (in between, or a neutral realm). They don't actually exist, and when defeated, they return back to whence they came.
Although it is something to be said, with all the enemies Sora has defeated, he has never once, killed anyone.

Well, they TECHNICALLY didn’t really die, but how could Sora have known that? In his and the Organization’s view, Sora was straight up icing these people for the sake of saving the worlds. It wasn’t until in a later game that we learn that Nobodies can be restored to their original persona.

By beating Sora, Roxas probably thought he wasn't worthy of the Keyblade anymore and was thus caught off-guard when the Keyblade returned to Sora, meaning it *still* saw him as his wielder.
The deaths in the manga had more feeling in them,especially Demyx's last words.

Aron the ultimate hero what i said was somewhat a joke man. i don't actually have a meaning of a "true fan" since every fan does things differently. also Xion's sacrifice meant something. if she had stayed with Organization 13 or didn't fight Roxas, Sora might have never woke up.
