Wife's X5 had the CCV crack, man what an oil mess. Since the CCV is under the intake manifold, i took the opportunity to to rebuild the intake as well. I also modified the CCV to improve on the POS plastic tubes.with actual braided heat resistant hoses. Wife is happy, the X5 is now puring like a kitten... One more thing. I make is sound easy to rebuild, its very time consuming given what I replaces in gaskets to include the injectors but I will say it's running like new at 300k. We change the synthetic oil religiously every 4-5k miles even though they say its 7-10k mi.

Javier Ponce nice! Oil leaks are never fun. I think we have an oil pan leak going on as well, so that one will be a total nightmare to fix, since the subframe has to be dropped and for that, an engine hoist is needed. It’s always something! Glad yours is working out great!

What is the part number for the driver side regulator?

It sure is easier when the previous owner hasn't stripped the torx screws and failed to disclose...my front passenger door is still only partially assembled because I need to buy 2 new screws.

My god I’m so tired of the damn e46 regulators. I jsut quit replacing them. My ecs lifetime ones always fail at the spool after 6 months to a year.

Also how the actual eff did you not have water leakage with no vapor barrier?!?! Maybe one day I'll be a real boy with a garage of my own...

Honestly, I'm not sure how we havent had any water issues yet. I'm just waiting for the day. I do notice a bit more wind noise from the drivers side, but I've driven the car in the rain and havent noticed any water coming through. Something I should probably take care of in the future though.

@@accelerated_motion definitely more wind noise on the e90 with neither the foam nor the door panel--i drove that way for a few weeks and the missus was none too happy. I never tried to drive with the panel only (no foam) but I'm sure the two combined are a better noise dampener than either one on its own.

@@zack4485 Oh wow. Yeah I'm sure combined is much better. Its not crazy noticeable as it currently sits but for peace of mind, a barrier should probably be installed. I dont want to come out to wet carpet someday!
