      Have you ever read 'Zen and the Art of Motorcyle Maintenance', by Robert Pirsig (1974)? Highly recommended in terms of mindset and approach to technology and its place in our lives.

    Great video as usual. You did a very good step by step guide here with your own personal touch.
    Having flushed my power steering recently. I’m guessing your going to discount the return line and turn the steering left and right till you have replaced all the fluid. But maybe you do something different. Looking forward to seeing it. 👍

    • @DayOffDIY
      @DayOffDIY  2 роки тому +1

      Uploading right now actually. I just do a drain and fill with bottle replacement, and add fresh fluid while running, circulating, and evacuating. Might not be the best way but thats how I was taught previously. Works well with limited mess. Thanks for stopping by as always :)

    The old window making this wire noise when you took it up and down. Was it some of the wire trends was missing? Because I have the same sound in my passenger front door butt it still work and do so as we speak. You can get this steel wire as a repair kit. Is that a difficult Jobb?

    The good thing about this is that aftermarket parts can be found for peanuts - I got a reg+motor combo for less than £30.

    I’m having an issue where my passenger window is stuck in the upward position. I’ve cut out all the cables, checked to see if the PO wedged anything in there, and tried loosening the whole regulator to get the window to move with no luck. (The whole regular wiggles freely independent of the window) Have you ever run into this issue? I just need access to the two 8mm bolts in the window.

    so i have a convertible but it seems the regulator went out while the window is down, any advice to pull the window up or just get a whole new door off part out?

    • @DayOffDIY
      @DayOffDIY  Рік тому +1

      you should be able to replace the window regulator and reinstall the glass, no need for a whole new door!

    is it different with a convertible? whenever i close the door, my window sticks out so i have to push the window towards the door so it can fully close.

    • @DayOffDIY
      @DayOffDIY  2 роки тому

      There’s an adjustment on the convertibles to where the window needs to clear the door seal before closing all the way, then the door lock actuator tells the window it’s closed and can go all the way back up

    • @DayOffDIY

      @@0megalul309 what type of car is it? its possible you need to initialize the window. it has a fail safe built into it so it wont break your fingers if you have something stuck in the glass, i would google initialization window feature for your car and try it that way. its usually done with the window switch
