hey yall i play demo and the easiest way to get shit into orbit is by using some hammer boosters to get up about 3/4 into the aptmosphere and then once your t-130 with 5 fuel tanks and a command module produces power just pick a direction and make it go sideways
The first song is a sped-up version of Welcome To Amaria by Two Steps From Hell, followed by Flight of the Silverbird. Just in case anyone is curious about that, since the description doesn't include it.
+Manofiron norifonoM Gravity was such an abominable representation of orbital mechanics. It literally hurt to watch that as I'm sure anyone who plays KSP understands. Go watch CinemaSin's video on Gravity featuring Neil DeGrasse Tyson on all the things it got wrong about science.
+airforce9872 Doesn't change the fact that it's up there and it's a real problem we have to account for. I think minimizing debris adds an interesting extra challenge.
scratchspider yes, there is debris up there, but it will all eventually de-orbit and burn up. And the vast distances involved in space, even in near-Earth orbit, are almost unfathomable to our minds. It's essentially impossible to run into debris. To put in perspective, imagine a tennis ball is the Earth, now even with over a million pieces of debris in orbit, they are all the size of an atom. Our vehicles are molecule sized. The chances of a molecule running into another atom are near negligible.
+airforce9872 yeah no shit, I'm doing a Physics/Chemistry degree at uni, I said it in more of how the period of the debris will eventually sync with the station and collide.
Now THIS looks cool ! There are many genius able to push the game so far and build incredible crafts, but you just made something that really LOOKED cool. What I mean is, it really looked like a big project, epic and a real challenge to a hundread of engineers. And the station itself is looking like it's usefull and will help Kerbal Science for decades (even if we know that in the end nothing you're building is really usefull in KSP :p) Kudos !
@@wilbofreeshan6340 This video was actually the first Matt Lowne and the first KSP video I ever watched. I'm also happy that someone else feels the same amount of nostalgia as me. 'Tis a small world.
Hey Matt, I just saw you also have this stuttering issue (every ~5-20 seconds it pauses for a few miliseconds). God... Just watching this makes me want to start up another space station... maybe get some rotating parts or use infernal robotics to make this thing pro af. This video is amazing.
Looks cool, Flawless execution of docking, Only problem is you'd never use it in a real save. Only thing i think would be semi-viable is orbital refueling.
I have the hardest time getting into a rendezvous orbit... I have tried and failed many times to do the rescue missions so I can prepare for this very thing.... I guess I will keep at it. Setting up the maneuver nodes is just a pain for me.
Few tips: Be in a circular orbit below or above your target's orbit. The greater the difference in your orbits the faster you will "Phase" with the target Adjusting the Radial and Anti Radial can fine tune your close approach once you get one. While approaching closest approach (the last minute or so) burn to match orbits and keep your prograde vector on your target vector, once you get it you can literally stop within metres of the target without rcs. and btw, it took me about 50 hours to get my first docking, ksp has a steep learning curve so don't feel discouraged.
Xaovin Thank you. I will keep at it. I am going through and following along with Scott Manley and that helps, but with his experience he makes it look easy.
Xaovin I will. I get frustrated easily, but this game has helped me keep my cool and be more patient. I hope to get it soon so I can start building my space station.
***** Thanks, I will. I tried for hours today to get into a good rendezvous positions... No go. I am so frustrated. I got into a good plane orbit, but for the life of me could not get things lined up enough to get in close enough to dock. The closest I was able to get was 12km away but then I started drifting away due to different orbits. Im going to do that scenarios.
+Wabadebadoo Olelikemjoel With a Spaceplane its actually relatively easy. Thanks to having wings you have a way of controlling your descent without using fuel, and that gives you a relatively big area where you can with a bit of know how practically choose where exactly you want to go. All you need is to deorbit very roughly at the right point and enter the atmosphere just as the manual describes it. Without wings its a great deal harder, but on the 2nd try i managed to land a base on Eve only 40km away from the next base i was aiming for. (Which was my first attempt of landing somewhere near the rover which, embarrassingly, was on the other side of the planet)
This game is very advanced. Simulating the laws of physics quite well... maybe not the little glitches which wobble you around sometimes when touching things. However basically this game is quite like being a rocket scientist, trial and error. Great video.
Minder Maniac lel I was doing that to try and dock to my space station. Kept missing and saving them by shear luck (and a little fuel). Pretty scary shit when you switch targets and can no longer revert the ship
+Spykyportable once it is built it can gain you lots of science if you are in campaign mode, but other than that its just nice to have one really, as its so cool to look at
+Spykyportable Yeah stations serve no purpose in KSP. But they're cool to look at and fun to build! It's extremely satisfying to place the final module and seeing your creation completed!
me before watching video: I have a space station around the MUN! how cool could this be? during video: wow... how is this LKO station 10x cooler tan my moon station?
+camBC It's only worth the money if you have an SSTO, meaning your only cost is the fuel: with the cost of the fuel tank you discard, it's really not worth it using the shuttle. Edit: Well... It's *usually* not worth it. I didn't do the math for the specific vehicles so I can't say with 100% certainty.
+camBC This, and the growing concerns of safety and ageing technology/hardware. The columbia disaster was one of the biggest (if not the number 1 contributer) factors leading to the termination of the shuttle program. The shuttle was so expensive to fly because it wasn't used nearly as frequently as was originally intended.
Matt Lowne Chicken and egg, though: one of the reasons it wasn't used more often was that it was so expensive to fly. "Astronomical" is an adjective you hear often at NASA, I'd expect, but you'd rather it didn't apply to the costs involved in refurbishing your craft after each successful launch. Add the fact that it was as nimble as a flying brick and as tough as a sand castle, that it would cook the occupants if the cargo bay doors got stuck while in orbit, and a myriad of other fun factoids, and I think the only reason it didn't get retired earlier was that it was so damn cool - and that, half a decade *after* it was retired, we still don't have a real replacement.
TheJosephB333 Whatever you say smartass. I answered your question and you give me that shit. Stop pretending to talk like Einstein if you dont even bother to research the terminology that i gave you, it wasnt even bullshit
Marko Polo Still don't beleive this is real rage... Just something about you makes me think you're trolling. Can't put my finger on it. Edit: e=mc^2 General reletivity ect.
It actually isn't that different, just modify the Payload settings to fit the stock Space station core and add engines, rinse and repeat until you've got it perfect.
+VortexGaming "normal" missions would be fine, I'm talking about massive things like this space station, which have many components that would be hard for a console to run well. Build a space station on PS4 and report back, I'm curious to know how well it handles it!

Im going to do that scenarios.
i cant even tell which direction im heading in once ive launched and this guy is building friggin space stations...awesome video
1:59, It is a runway landing but it messed up due to lack of fuel, that's called Runway emergerncy landing. Great job for not undershoot Matt!
What Mod is that, that makes the Planet look so cool? :)
scatterer
Thank you very much. great video by the way :)
Bach, is that you?
Johann S gghhgvmm sefbbnjhgfdfjbb
Lol "dont undershoot", hell ill be happy if I can even do a reentry and land within 5km of the runway.
That astronaut was cute.
This game is very advanced. Simulating the laws of physics quite well... maybe not the little glitches which wobble you around sometimes when touching things. However basically this game is quite like being a rocket scientist, trial and error. Great video.
loving the music, very epic and has some metal to it as well \m/
Don't you find it a little dangerous having the crew go to the station in an unsafe, escape-free, and parachute free rocket?
That's the fun part!
Minder Maniac lel I was doing that to try and dock to my space station. Kept missing and saving them by shear luck (and a little fuel). Pretty scary shit when you switch targets and can no longer revert the ship
Wyman and Brad Gaming Co. F5. always f5
Alistair Shaw that's quick save right?
Wyman and Brad Gaming Co. yes, everytime you change vessel quick save before you do so. you can name them if you ALT-F5
Очень красиво,музыкальное сопровождение супер,респект и лайк!👍🖒
this is just fuckin amazing, but is there a purpose of doing that? do you win something idk?
+Spykyportable once it is built it can gain you lots of science if you are in campaign mode, but other than that its just nice to have one really, as its so cool to look at
+Spykyportable Yeah stations serve no purpose in KSP. But they're cool to look at and fun to build! It's extremely satisfying to place the final module and seeing your creation completed!
That is the best space station I have ever saw !
Watching this Video again after one year, still leaves me impressed.
I can only get to high ground
Unknown_clan lol
me before watching video: I have a space station around the MUN! how cool could this be?
during video: wow... how is this LKO station 10x cooler tan my moon station?
No dislikes! Let's keep it that way guys!
:(
+The_FPS_Melon I feel one person saw this comment then disliked
MegaGamer328 yep
+The_FPS_Melon Dammit man you had to say it, didn't you? ;)
Matt Lowne Sorry.
I’m. Coughing... im shivering...WHY DID I WATCH THOSE VIDEOS. Ooh Matt! Yay!
Seeing stock builds this incredible is equal parts inspiring and disheartening.
He builds a british space station...
With chinese or japanese music...
Interesting...
...With an American shuttle.
I figure Matt got tired of the Space Shuttle so he used regular rockets. Throw away is much better XD
+camBC It's only worth the money if you have an SSTO, meaning your only cost is the fuel: with the cost of the fuel tank you discard, it's really not worth it using the shuttle.
Edit: Well... It's *usually* not worth it. I didn't do the math for the specific vehicles so I can't say with 100% certainty.
o0alessandro0o Ya for NASA I think it was more money to fly the shuttle that just a normal rocket
Matt Lowne Interesting. Thanks Matt!
How was he able to get an encounter so easily? I always have to go into full orbit and then adjust.
Probbly the hohmann transfer
Marko Polo
I find you difficult to beleive due to your profile picture.
TheJosephB333 Whatever you say smartass. I answered your question and you give me that shit. Stop pretending to talk like Einstein if you dont even bother to research the terminology that i gave you, it wasnt even bullshit
Marko Polo
Still don't beleive this is real rage... Just something about you makes me think you're trolling. Can't put my finger on it.
Edit: e=mc^2 General reletivity ect.
Marko Polo
Just.. Can't put my finger on it... Might be the troll face for a profile pic... but probably not.
The looks on my friends face when u skipped how to navigate was priceless.. Thank you
*Congratulations UK,You finally did it!!!*
I just called NASA and they said they want you there right now
Cgflex lol
The music sounds like something out of HTTYD
Yeah it's from TSFH
And the only thing I can do is put a satellite in space
same
It actually isn't that different, just modify the Payload settings to fit the stock Space station core and add engines, rinse and repeat until you've got it perfect.
No, you can also solve investigations and like dogs
@Lucas Awad That's a shame.
Same
this video is amazing it is one of the best ksp yt videos
Thanks Matt
Ur control is incredible
Can I do this on ps4 too?
It wouldn't be able to run it very well, I would imagine the frame rate would get very choppy! Let me know how it goes though!
+Matt Lowne i did it no lag no nothing
cool :)
I notice this game is for smart people lol :)
+VortexGaming "normal" missions would be fine, I'm talking about massive things like this space station, which have many components that would be hard for a console to run well. Build a space station on PS4 and report back, I'm curious to know how well it handles it!
+Matt Lowne Seems like it would be a lot harder using console controls and there's no mechjeb. :(
you should work at nasa
Efe Yılmaz space X is better
@@I.JG7.Frenchie Really? TRYING to start an argument?
Me: *learns how to get to mun*
Also me: maybe I can dock!
*5 seconds later*
Maybe I’ll just make another mun mission
Edit: I’m on PS4
Same... are you on pc?
no I’m on PS4
Console mater race
I docked before going to Mun.
Took 30 attempts.
Still screaming.
@@youravaragejoe5102 cope harder
The song itself was Amaria + Flight of the Silverbird
TSFH really know how to blends two song together
Flight of the silverbird never gets old. God damn epic. Made drinking my tea feel like I’m a one man army bout to go on a crusade. DEUS VULT
