i made an exact replica station (not all using my shuttle ) but what i found good is the maneuvering thrusters on all the modules is that you don't need to launch a propulsion module and when i had trouble with the shuttle i could use the station instead.
Hey Lowne, if you put an OKTO to your SSTO's with 10 degree (I mean pitching degree, don't know how to tell it :/ ) reentry would be a lot easier. You just need to click "control from here" button to OKTO and set the SAS prograde vector. By this way, your shuttle will be always pitching a little up and much stable than the stability assist.
Last time I was working on my KSP save file, I was working on doing the same thing! Building space stations with shuttles. Didn't get far so I can't wait to see how this video turns out.
Downloaded the craft file (thought it was off this vid but maybe it was another shuttle vid) and it's really hard to fly. Thought maybe it was one of my mods but even in stock I struggle getting it to orbit - you make it look so easy! Thanks for making it available, helps me get better at building mine
3:28 the reason it stalls very easily is because it has delta wings. Which are great for very fast speeds but it makes it stall at much higher speeds. That’s the reason that the real space shuttle had does and thats why they needed a very long runway to land and a parachute.
I got the ultimate KSP challenge: - Land an SSTO on every planet (not on the moons) in the solar system and then leave the solar system. - Refueling and mining is NOT allowed. - The SSTO must contain at least 7 kerbonauts. - All engines & fuel tanks are allowed.
Long time since saw some fun KSP, thank you for the entertainment. Then it it might be me, I haven't looked all that closely lately (RL gets in the way.) Have fun, stay safe!
Are you going to be watching the Mars Insight launch at 12:05 GMT??? Cool video as always Matt :~) EDIT: can you point me to a video where you deal with mining and keeping the bloody drills cool, because no matter what engineers I have on board or how many radiators I have I can not stop them overheating, thereby reducing efficiency to 0.4% :~(
Agustin Murat not really because of space X's recoverable boosters, and the fact that the main tank is really wasteful, that it's nicknamed the "flying brick", the separation of the boosters and the main tank can cause the entire craft to blow up,coupled(ha get it coupled),with that the heat resistant panels in the bottom of the shuttle can just fly off, causing more damage to the shuttle,AND that it's actually MORE expensive than a regular rocket,so no,it's not preferred
Agustin Murat have you ever flown a space shuttle?do you know how finicky it can be to launch one?what about a normal probe-fairing deployed one?ever notice how smooth and stable it can be(if built correctly, although it isn't very hard).I'm just sayin.
Question! Is the new EULA as Spyware-like as Steam reviews claim it to be? I'm not sure if I should get back into post-update KSP what with the talk about the new Take-Two EULA.
Instead of clipping them into the docking arm or putting them on its surface, you could’ve put like a little tug at the other side where the docking port is, dock the front to the station, then undock the tug and either bring it to the shuttle or de-orbit it. That’s what I do, anyway.
Whole idea of a space shuttle is to reduce cost by re-using the shuttle every launch. Matt: Lands every shuttle to not recover them and use a new one every launch.😂
With how you orbital landers are stacking on the runway that means you had to build 1 more for every mission so this would not do anything for saving the ship if you just build another one (I still love it tho 😀)

The station would be too heavy after all the tea they would have to bring
