I will say, one of my most favourite followers was "grandma" just because of the imagery of a super mutant in a gown and gardening gloves, plus a bonus of the VA saying things like "grandma wants to pinch your cheeks/ would you like a cookie, kiddo?" In the super mutant voice

Super Mutants are one of my top favorite fallout creatures, very intimidating with the power to back it up. The area filled with nightkins underneath the repconn test sight would always give me at least 1 jump scare of a big blue mutant appearing right in front of me swinging a rebar club.
I still remember when I first ran into the NightKin near the top of Black Mountain, the ambient music and sudden ambush from 5mm Assualt Rifles along with the flamers streaking the horizon line coming down to greet me. I had no idea what hit me.
Mine was at the McBride's corral. I was expecting raiders or the Legion, but then I saw the "ghost". When I killed it and saw what it truly was, my jaw dropped.
I remember encountering them in that stealth boy warehouse; I could see tons of visual distortions but when their stealth camo broke I certainly wasnt expecting 7ft tall blue brutes with longswords & grenade launchers
Marcus was my favorite companion from Fallout 2 and I'm glad they brought him back (and Michael Dorn, the voice actor) in New Vegas. Mutants are not mindless brutes that just want to kill you. Although transformed, there's a lot of humanity inside those hulking bodies. Marcus is very smart and diplomatic. Lily is a doting, loving grandmother. Mean Sob is a loyal guard. In F2, there's even a super mutant couple who keeps bickering at home, like some human couples! I hope that in future Fallout games, they'd be portrayed more with sympathy and I especially would like to see super mutant NCR soldiers! That'd be awesome!

I disagree. Art does not have to be "timeless" (whatever that term actually means) nor do future generations have to appreciate it in order for it to be art. That said, Fallout NV is a great game and it deserves all the praise it gets.
I'm surprised you didn't include Dog/God from Dead Money who is an extreme example of the split personality some Nightkin suffer. Not to mention the willingness to follow a new Master.

I think it would be very interesting if a cure was invented for the nightkin,do you think they would revert back to a normal super mutant and keep their intelligent,go back to a normal super mutant and lose their intelligence or create a new generation completely
Well if you help Doctor Henry with his research, his ending screen will state that he did in fact find a cure for the Nightkin schizophrenia. Maybe this will be looked at in the next fallout game, maybe they will have a quest that has you looking for a copy of the cure to help some Nightkin.
Well Henry heals their schizophrenia, not them being super mutants or something like that. I believe they keep their blue skin and so on and simply just don't go crazy anymore. Of course the act of being invisible might force someone to go mad anyways.
I mean yeah.. but the lasting effects have to linger in one form or another even after a cure, like the skin.. but may be others we've never known about until New Vegas 2 or Fallout 5. With a real world perspective is the cure instantaneous? Doubt it. Would the cure progress in doses? What happens if they take a dose and stop cold turkey? Lots of questions. It's a very very heavy dr*g addiction after all considering the mission @ REPCONN. Nightkin who are too deep in are desperate for the next hit. I could also see some Nightkin that are healed developing a sort of zen state, maybe becoming their own faction. A safe haven for other S. Mutants and Nightkin.

So that’s why you don’t see any nightkin on the east coast or in 76. East coast mutants are far more stupid then the west coast mutants.
I like how the Nightkin are used to explore the psychological effects that an ability to turn invisible could have on people. It seems tragic how Jacobstown puts so much work into the potential direct effects of stealth fields when that isn't really the problem at all... I think the concept deserves it's own sci-fi series or film.

I really loved the nightkin in fallout NV, they were just a cool unique variant of the regular super mutant, and I'm glad they brought them back from the old fallouts. I hope they come back in a future game, and I hope we can get the stealth boy disease, like if it was like mutations In 76, or perk you get from a quest.
Davison knows if you kill the other nightkin in the facility supposedly because Antler told him. I mean Davison doesn't even see you do it and if done stealthily wouldn't hear it either but either way he not only knows that the nightkin are dead without even leaving the room but he also knows that it was you who did it. It could've been the ghoul in the storage room or (even though unlikely) any of the ghouls upstairs but Antler tells him its you specifically. Could Antler have been real?
I remember finding Raul in my second playthrough (the first time I didn't get the password right to open the door and was like whatever) and I felt so bad that I had just left a ghoul stuck in that room in my other game lol And I loved the weird old nightkin in the flower hat she was so funny
I would love a video on robots such as assaultrons protections Mr Gutsies and the like. A lot of robots are very memorable characters in the fallout games.
I honestly think that if you could isolate individual night kin in closed communities with either blind scientists or blind robots that might help alleviate some of the anxiety about being seen. Granted this is easier said than done but it would at least be something while they wait on treatment

The first time I faced them was in the basement. It was on very hard and I was so scared when I saw Boone unconscious as I was "randomly" crippled and decapitated, that I stopped playing for the day. Once I had Veronica instead of him though, ooh they fucking paid dearly.
I believe the super mutants in FO1 & FO2 were a formidable foe due to the fact that they had a leader of the master & due to the fact they were based at the mariposa military base and had access to advanced tech. But in FO3 & the later games they seemed nerfed but I also think its because they don't have a leader and since they lack intelligence they have no order or strategy and are just wondering the wasteland.
God id love this so much. I just want a fallout set around 30 years before fallout 1 and its its own story on the west coast but you can hear rumours of caravans going missing and myths of big green trolls in the desert night.
I really liked more the noghtkind and the supermutants "fallout 1 to NV) because they look like failed Bondage+super buffed body builders..... rather than the Fo4/76 because they look for me like green plastiline... the fallout new vegas ones where super menacing
It's due to the different variations of FEV used to make each variation of mutations the enclave of 1 and 2 used pre war FEV 3 was remnants of FEV used in 1 and 2 only with more radiation and 4 the institute made there own
I knew nothing of nightkin when I first played and was really confused that there was only one person in the radio. I did meet the other nightkin that talks to antler but I just assumed it was a one off thing with him.
I think not because the games focus more on the rpg side of things in fallout 4 en less on the long desert walks in vegas or the subway tunnels of fallout 3 but that doesnt stop me from realy wanting it ! :D

I think not because the games focus more on the rpg side of things in fallout 4 en less on the long desert walks in vegas or the subway tunnels of fallout 3 but that doesnt stop me from realy wanting it ! :D

They hate the West Coast, it's obvious. They're two East Coast games in why would they go there? I only trust Obsidian to be capable of creating a game in the West Coast and New Vegas sequel.
