    Wouldn't the thinner remove the previous coats of paint?

    • @quickkits
      @quickkits  7 років тому +29

      That's very true. You would have to use Humbrol acrylic 247, or seal the 247 colour with an acrylic varnish to make sure the thinner doesn't cause any damage (which I don't think I did, oops...)

    • @rurushu8094
      @rurushu8094 7 років тому +6

      Oh ok

    • @mariebcfhs9491
      @mariebcfhs9491 5 років тому +2

      actually the paint would "die" if you left it dry for about 4-6 hours (with enamel, and 1 hour for acrylic), once it dies, thinner can do no damage to it whatsoever

      It takes some time and practice but with enough time and patience you can make it look airbrush. I had to move a lot for college and didn't drag all my equipment along so I relied on hand brushing for quite a bit and you can come up with some amazing results. Keep at it, you'll get there.

    Had the same issues with the fuselage, the cowling, and the wing fit. Needed to get about it with a judicious application of putty! Pitty as it made a frustrating build for an otherwise nicely detailed kit. Also, best ever application of mottle camo with a brush I've seen!

  • @milanvnuk

    great job, again! I may give you a tip to prolong life of your palette, I mean the think you have mixed you colurs in it, like the yellow. If you use aluminium foliage to cover it before use. You get the relief of it and after removing the foliage it will stay clean and ready for next painting. I hope you understand me.I am not very good in english.

      I was experimenting with elmer's glue and i discovered something. If applied onto the surface of a model without watering it down, it creates a satin finish. I managed to give my Glossy f-35 a satin finish after doing this.

I always enjoy your videos with a calm,concise narration. One of my favourite subscribed channels. Thank you for your efforts and advice. Awesome build Owen !!! Fantastic mottling technique, there is something new to learn in each of your posts. Is it possible to do mottling with acrylic paints with the method used for enamel paints ?

      It's possible with acrylics but I didn't find it worked quite as well... however my experiment with them was quite rushed so I don't know they might work just as well haha

    Good job on than spiral on the propeller. I would like to see how you you added the masking tape to make the swirl

      +TheSeryogian I should have shown that in the video! I basically cut a long right-angled triangle out of masking tape and wrapped it around

    Buen trabajo, el único pero es que le falta el simbolo de la swastica en el timon de cola.

    instead of using PVA glue for the clear parts try using Humbrol clear fix as I find it sticks better.

    incredible job on the 190 ! and it still amazes me how nice your paint jobs look without the use of an airbrush.
    ever gotten any hate mail from an airbrush manufacturer or two ? hahaha :)

    Need to tell the color of the paint, not just the numbers, for us who don't use Humbrol paint.

    Would you be able to do a 1:72 heinkel in revell as I have been looking at this kit for a while and I don't know if I should get it and you seem to be a great modeller so I wouldn't mind watching you build one! :) -tom

    you've got skills my man, i want to get back into making 1/72's again but i had no idea how i could possily replicate luftwaffe camoflauge without using an airbrush (i just prefer brush painting) ... genius, thanks! also what brush do you use?
