Yes we can Hav it in the Cav🍑
Baraha duit harga na mang??
I've had the Alesis version of that MIDI Trigger I/O for a couple years now, and while it does the JaRb?
It's UI sometimes gives me loud potty mouth outbursts, spasm eye twitches, and an underlying urge to pound double shots of Jack Daniels.
YaRp!
LMAO!
This vid genuinely just helped a ton tho my dude!
Thanky thanky!
What bass drum peddels are you using? They don't appear to have heel plates. We're they made like this or did you remove them?
Thanks for your time RCW
What an AMAZING video, Samus. I have only recently begun to tinker with electronic drums and stuff like that and all I can do now is play and record the default kits, sounds, settings, et cetera...
This video will be VERY useful for me to learn how to extract the best out of my kit.
Thanks SO much, dude.
You ask…”How’s my hair?”…answer…long, thick, glorious, shiny, flowing, very flowing, healthy (no visible split ends). I’m f’n jealous!!! 💇♂💆♂✂🏆✨💞
Haha hsjaaaah!!?😅😭😢🙉🙈✌🏽👍🏽❤💗💖💙💚💛🍝🍔🍩🍱🍯🍮 I'd never have been able to say it beter
Thank You Sir. Just getting back into playing some and went the way of E-Drumming and have been playing with all of the adjustments to make and found myself in a rabbit hole of going too far one way and then losing track of what I was trying to accomplish and would reset. Some simple clarity in this vid with perfect timing for me is Definitely s3x.🤘
Hey Sami’s I love your vids you inspire me to play the drums keep up the good work man
The DDTi is a very cool device. I love it's simplicity and it does everything you would need. Very good tutorial.
Thanks homie. Bought a Roland-27 kit a few weeks ago and have been tinkering with it on and off. Last night I think I finalized the settings I enjoyed the most and this video has only confirmed that I was right in my choices. Love your vids dude!
thank you Mike!! ohhh yurrrrr
Thanks so much Samus! I'm excited to start playing around with my new DDTi this weekend 😀
Love your videos, I can't thank you enough for how much you made drumming easier for me. The only regret i have is why i haven't found your channel sooner 🔥🤟
thank you so much Navid!
great video Samus. love your content.
Finally someone came with help
Thanks samus^^
This actually helped me, thank you
you are very welcome :)
Sir, I have been watching your channel for the past few months. I really love the way you explain different drumming pattern. You are a great drummer I blve . I am also a drummer. Hats off to your energy. Lots of love from India. God bless you Sir....
thank you so much!
Veeeery much helped, thanks Samus!!!
Thx dude!! That was very informative 🤘🤘🔥🔥
Excellent explanation of the various settings, I know that is not an easy subject to get across, but you made it fun, especially with the farts at the end.
Thanks a lot for your tips. I've got an Alesis Trigger IO and now, I'll be able to use it on a better way.
Perfect time! My Pearl E-merge em-53t just got delivered
Great stuff
thank you for explaining this 🤘🏼
OHHH YURRRRRRRRRR THATS AMAZING. I love u for this video (and all the others but this is nuts)
Samus, excellent vid… i’m not quite sure what I saw but I’m pretty sure it was excellent! ✌❤🔥
Awesome video thanks! Didn't know they reissued it.
Excelente Video my friend!
Amazing video man! So well explained even a singer can understand it! 😅
Thanks brother!
Oh Yurrrr!
Such an amazing tutorial! I scoured the interwebs and about 4 moths ago I gave up. I guess you uploaded this about that time. what a coinkidink!!
haha thank you dude!
Is there a way to trigger low volume cymbals, or cymbals with pad mutes, in order to get better sounds in the headphones?
I don’t know which I’m most envious of - your awesome drum playing or your awesome hair.
Really AMAZING yet simple breakdown of settings. I will definitely be referencing this video in the future!
Thanks Samus! I think we need a dedicated video about the sex setting though. I think I can probably figure it out after messing around with it for a bit, but I think other people would really like a more in depth video about it 😝
Thanks for the vid dude. I ordered this module and the rtom heads a few days ago . I'm using the same triggers as well. I was hoping you had a video for this module..and low and behold!! Awesome. That hertz kit though? not a fan
Great set up
Are those Crimson red kick drum heads? gorgeous
I like the snare setting
Crosstalk is very andy for electronic cimbals and for dual trigger toms etc
Thanks for making an awesome video and what’s your favorite drum set?
As someone that's been looking at video, audio and studio gear for streaming and whatnot for quite some time now, it just blows my mind with your investment, more specifically with your video gear. 🤯
Very resourceful video! Thanks. Would you recommand triggering a full drum over mic'ing it ? I would assume mics give more of a natural vibe, but triggers offer more flexibility for jams and recording ? And, what's the cost range related to each approach ?
I'm going with the trigger option. I play a seven piece kit with 10 cymbals. I have an eight input interface so I would have to expand that, add the cost of good mics, stands and cables would be in the $5000 range. That's before any room treatment and periodic head changes.
For about $1500 I'll get triggers, cables and mesh heads, save some money, get more sounds and not piss off the neighbors so much 😆
LOVE the Alesis Trigger I/O... Errr I mean the DDRUM DDTI etc. it's grEAT!
Hey man Nice videos :D. I have a question, how it wortks with the electronic hi hat, do you have a video? Thanks your your videos!
First off, Love the channel! My son is slaying the drums he watches you all the time. I’m hoping to get some help…
I have a focusrite 2i2 which does not have MIDI i/o. I want to use triggers for the new new Mario D Kontakt kit but also have mics set up in the room. Because my 2i2 is already plugged into the computer should I look at buying another device like a Behringer UCM 4? Getting very confused on how to trigger his live kit with the Kontakt stand-alone.
Thanks again!
Thank you both!!
If you want, you can send me an email samus@66samus.com
I've never tried the Behringer interfaces, but I see that it has midi so it should work with Kontakt plugins!! :)
Very well explained, have to save it. I received my ddti this passed Monday, now will be looking for samples and triggers. Keep up the good stuff! 🤘🏻🥁🤘🏻Also I forgot to ask: Which one you prefer between Ez Drummer 3 and Hertz?
My DDTi came on Tuesday 😀
@@specialkonacid6574 Nice, get the most out of it.
Crazy is that I bought it on mid October last year, but when out of stock at Sweetwater. Seven months ago!.. I feel that I passed a patient test. 🙃
Like the shirt brother! 🫡🎃
@66Samus One question, does the DAW record all the midi inputs in one track or in multiple tracks? Do I need to set up the drum sounds before or can I add or edit it later? I'm asking this because I'd like to record also midi tracks for Snare, kick and toms to mix with the mics.
And btw thanks for the video
Awesome video! So the MIDI data gets passed from the ddrum interface to the focusrite via MIDI cables, and then the focusrite sends the MIDI data PLUS the audio from the cymbal mics via USB to the DAW on the computer? I am trying to get into a hybrid setup and haven't found a good resource for combining the MIDI tracks from the triggers and audio tracks from the overhead.
yes that's right!! email me if you have any questions :)
What is the difference between an electric drum and drum triggers?
Most electric drums are in the form of a pad, like the rolands.
A drum trigger is a sensor that you can attach to any drum, that converts it into an electronic signal.
So basically a trigger turns an acoustic drum into an electronic pad :)
hope that helps!!
cheers
@@66Samus okay thnx for the explanation! 😁
Great video Im just having a hard time choking my rubber ecymbals i keep getting hits instead of chokes I have it set to SS for the choke option but its not choking the cymbal sound do you know how to fix this? Just need to choke my cymbals. Using superior drummer. We had the choke working for a minute but now we cant figure it out, liked and subscribed hope you can help its the last thing we need to do to set this kit up
Awesome straightforward guide mang! I've been using a hybrid setup with the EDrumIn MIDI module for a couple years now. It has a visual software that accompanies it, which is helpful for quick adjustments and setup, but if I want to expand beyond 5 triggers, the cost is twice as much for the amount of inputs you get vs this DDrum module. I might give this unit a go because i'd prefer to do adjustments without having to reach for a mouse. What hardware are you using to mount this to your right on the kit?
Ok you were faster! I always try to promote Robs work. This thing is absolutly awesome and the support is outstanding.
Hi! I just ordered one. Does cakewalk play into your headphones without recording?
yes it can :)
@@66Samus sweet
great video Samus!, I wanna buy one, but as I live in south america, I have to do it through an online store that only works with amazon and ebay, I dont wanna buy the old model that apparently doesnt work with win10, but how can I know if the one im buying is the new one?, they look exactly the same... maybe is the same hardware an the update you do it downloading some file from the website.. hope you could help me with it.. sorry for my English
“Any dipping sauce with your order today sir?”
Samus - “Dick Sauce Cheese please!”
End scene.
With crosstalk, do you adjust the setting to the pad that shouldn't be triggering and what's difference between cross talk and cross talk send
Hey Bud, I’m trying to set the correct trigger type for my Roland pads. In regards to the CY-12 pad, what would be the correct trigger type for that pad? The DDTi has PP(piezo/piezo, SS(switch/switch, PS(piezo/switch, SP(switch/piezo. Which would be the most suitable? Any help would be much appreciated.
Babe wake up samus posted about e drums
So cool that you played Day 69 by Decapitated!
Thank you! I thought that sounded very familiar but could't get it to pop up
That was Day 22!
@@Maxpen14 You're welcome!
@@Woobuz Hahah yes!
The tastiest drum sound from midi I ever heard.. I need to resurrect my abandoned acoustic and edrum kits.
This drummings is very tight. Like mans anoos.
I am new to your channel, love your mad skills. i am a 52-year-old fart metal drummer myself. One of my favorite bands ever is NUCLEAR ASSAULT I would love to see you do a cover of Save the planet by them or any tune by them PEACE
thank you Bob!! cheers buddy :)
Out of curiosity, would it be possible to put some of those rubber drum mute pads on my drums and attach a trigger to each individual pad to get these type of results. Or would I need to use some type of mesh pad on the drum for it to work? I just feel like going a less expensive route but hoping to get the same results.
yes you can use mesh heads on acoustic drums with triggers :)
Hi if my pads have bell and edge inputs can I use a Y cable to have the module recognize both?
Canh you explain astrophysics via drums, please?
okay so I finally got back into drumming after a long hiatus and I'm noticing a lot more people are moving towards electronic kits. Now I get it, but I am an acoustic purist I guess you could say and I don't understand the benefit of going all electric when you can use triggers on an acoustic. Is there a difference? other than the obvious reasons of acoustic being louder that electric.... Both have modules I would assume and programable kits so there's the ease of recording on triggers vs. electronic kit..... but is it just preference? Am I missing something? Just curious is all...
9:08 "I have mine at 44ms for the bass drums."
I see what you did there...
Thanks for the video! I've learnt a lot more about my module now because of this, haha.
I've been having trouble upgrading the firmware. I followed the guide on their site but nothing gives me the "U.P" screen on the DDTi.
@66Samus, how did you go about upgrading your firmware? Is there a new DDTi? Mine is probably about 2-3 years old now.
Definitely contact their support and ask them! I didn't upgrade mine myself so I'm not sure
did you manage to update it ?
unfortunately not. I emailed support and they told me the update is only available for newer model DDTi's which came out this year. @@CtrlZMusic
@@keegano2574 this is what I finally understood, now need to find one ?!
thx for the reply
Does connecting the trigger to the audio interface reduce latency?
Nice little Decapitated drumming at the end. Also, "How's my hair?" What a bahee.
First of all, amazing video! I recently got the DDTi and this has been my go to video to learn more about it; have watched it several times already.
I was hoping you, or anyone reading this comment could help me out with an issue I run into.
For reference: I am triggering acoustic drums using Roland triggers. The idea is to have a quick and easy midi map of what I've played to help make our demo's.
The problem I run into is that my "Tom 2" (in my case first floortom) triggers basically anytime I hit any other drum. Wat parameter should change to help prevent this? If the asnwer is to use the "x-talk" setting, which way do I go. Do I up the value on the trigger that is unrightfully triggering, or on the one that I'm actually hitting? Bit unsure about that.
Hope someone can help me figure this out, thanks in advance
yes, try raising the x talk for the drum that is talking too much!
it's also possible that the threshold could be too low, so that try next if x talk doesn't help
@@66Samus Thanks for clearing that up! Fun fact, I’ve maxed the x-talk setting on al drums except for the kick 😂
It’s a bit tricky trying this with acoustic drums, think mesh-heads makes it a lot easier and more acurate; but! I’m slowly getting there.
Again, thank you for the amazing video!
Hi there. I hope you can answer a question for me?
I have an Alesis D4 and I want to trigger an IPad. I need to know how to turn local off on the D4.
Thank you and happy new year. PJ Toronto
Sadly I have never tried either of those things before, so I'm not sure! I'm sorry I couldn't help with this!!!
Hey, I just got the black hole drum heads with the triggers and I have the DDTI and I have EZ Drummer but somehow I can not get it to go. Anybody can help me out. I highly appreciate it.
Got a question for you Samus. Considering to have the same ddrum triggers and the module, the cable you use for the snare is mono or stereo? Is there a difference using either cable with that setup?
if the snare trigger is dual zone, yes you'll need a stereo cable :)
@@66Samus Yup, ddrum Chrome Elite. Man I'm so behind with all this stuff! Funny part, I took Recording Arts at Full Sail on 2002 and never have the opportunity to use it, therefore I lost it. Thanks again. 🤘🏻🥁🤘🏻
Hi. Is DDrum DDTi the same equipment as Alesis Trigger IO, only a different manufacturer? If so, do both modules have a cymbal choke function? I have 3 additional Roland crash cymbals (two-zone) and I would like to connect them to the Alesis Trigger IO, which will work as a slave module with the Roland TD-30 module (via midi cable). I want to have a working cymbals choke funcion for the cymbals connected to the Alesis Trigger IO. Regards.
Im having the same issue trying to figure out how to choke my e-cymbals
I would love to see you do a reaction video checking out Brann Dailor
Please advise. How did you connect two kick drums to one kick connector in that drum module? I don´t want to use double pedal
I did not connect them to the same trigger input.
I used an additional input for the second bass drum :)
cheers!
another question, Can I use it for 3 zones cymbals?
I think that 66Samus,Steve T should start a band
It's nice to finally have a new Daddy after the last guy went for cigs n scratchers and never came back. I love you new Daddy 💕🥰
Dear 66Samus, I have been watching your videos for a while as I am interested in learning to play drums. This video is great as I will have to purchase an electric drum kit if I am to pursue this any further. However, I have recently taken to recording my farts and may have one or two that may interest you. What is the best way in getting a demo tape to you please?
Keep up the good work, loving your channel.
All the best, Jim.
hahaha thanks dude!
you can email farts to samus@66samus.com
What did you use to mount it? The NIO mount? Then just attach it to a boom stand? Anyone know?
Does trs or ts cables matter depending on type of trigger!?❤
yes :) you want TRS (stereo) cables for dual zone triggers
TS is fine for single zone triggers
What stand are you using to mount the device?
Hi!! How do you plug in a headset ? How do you listen what you play?
plug your headphones into the headphones output of your interface :)
@@66Samus so I need an extra interface? The module on the video does not have an audio jack right? Do you recomend any good module around 300$?

can be used without a PC on a Live gig?
Day 69 by decapitated, damn! Amazing as always dear samus.
cool..unfortunately the DDTI is not available in Germany..for whatever reason..would be an alternative for me..awesome drumming..WWWOOOOOO😉
Hey thanks for all your videos. If I could suggest a song to react to, its "Hi Ren" by the dude Ren. Would be curious to hear your take on it. This song is pretty unique so I'd suggest not reading too much about it beforehand.
Anyway, cheers and later!
Would be nice if You can store the Sounds into the Module.
But what about the Bahee setting?
Samus! I need some advice, please. Is the DDTI compatible with ezdrummer 3???
How do I do this. I got the module plugged in but when I open ezdrummer, it can't find it
yes :) make sure you selected it as the midi input in your DAW!
@@66Samus that's the problem! I don't see it!
@66Samus I should elaborate. I'm not using any other DAW. Only the one in ezdrummer. I had a Roland TD15 midi out into my laptop. In ezdrummer I'm able to select TD15 in the mifi input menu. However, Ddrum isn't even an option. An I missing a step? I know you're not tech support but I can't find any info online. I've emailed Ddrum and Toontrack but nothing yet.
So I thank you for any help
