The backwards launch will definitely be the best part going 101 mph backwards will feel crazy
This ride is gonna be amazing. I don’t care what the ride has that’s different all I care about is we still have Dragster it’s gonna be really fun and such a great ride.

It took me until today to relize the logo spells out the letters CP. Clever detail
My name vote would have been "Check Point". It's racing related, it fits with the CP logo, it passes the Cedar Point Wordplay vibe
They should keep the Top Thrill Dragster name and add the word “Re-Launched” to make the coaster more exciting!
Honestly they should've made the layout longer kinda like Xcelerator at Knott's Berry Farm. Then they can call TT2 or Top Thrills Revenge.

People would’ve been 100% more upset if the coaster got removed all together
No one would've been upset if they reopened it in its original glory
Actually, now that I think about it, I'd rather have the coaster entirely removed than have it be reimagined in a way where it's different enough for the predecessor to be defunct.

While it is what we were told by all the spoilers, I still disappointed. The initial launch is not taking you far up the hat. Name is horrible. We will see how far you get up the spike
Notice how they quickly change the angle on the video so you can’t see how high it goes on the spike
Major disappointment. The best part of dragster was the launch and now it’s gone. 74mph and not even making it vertical is incredibly lame, and they have the nerve to call it a rollback. If they had made it 100ish to get us almost to the top in order to give an actual rollback would change things entirely. Many other cons here but this one stands out. Very disappointed.
I'd actually call it an improvement. Top thrill constantly broke because of how aggressive the launch was. It honestly didn't even put you back all that much in the first split second anyways. I'm surprised they didn't increase the speed or height though since you could do both with a triple launch design.
@@caseymurray7722 no it was unreliable because of the hydraulic launch system. TBH I wasn’t asking for a 0-120mph launch, just more than a measly 74. I really can’t believe they’re calling that a “rollback” 😂 also not to mention no airtime hill or anything after the top hat. Seriously would that have cost a whole lot more?
1) name is lame but they must have thought that everyone was still gonna call it dragster anyway, and the 2 is a play on two spikes
2) For anyone that has been on the ride already, the new launch is gonna feel slow, there's not gonna be that G pull. The launch was everything on this ride, especially since the track is in a wide open area there are no stationary walls or objects next to the track making it feel faster, it's not gonna be very thrilling launching to 70 mph and only going a third of the way up the top hat
3) the reverse spike is awesome and will probably be the only cool part of the ride other then the main top hat drop

If the lines are worse, I hope that the down time is a lot less. I hope it can handle windy conditions better than it used to.
Capacity will be better because the LSMs won't be shitting out constantly like the hydraulic. And the new train (20) has 2 more spots than the old 18 person train. ElToroRyan breaks it down well.

What wouldve been better is if they struck an agreement with the Haas F1 team to become a sponsorship for the team, and in turn the ride could've been F1 themed. The coaster is already in their main color scheme, and haas claims to be an all american F1 team despite its operations being mostly abroad so having an american company sponsor them would be beneficial for both sides. (Cedar fair would also get free advertisement on the cars)
I assume CP could not use the name Formula 1 because of the trademark. ?
You gotta remember, the seats are also raised a bit, so airtime will be easier to get.
While I do think the acceleration will take a big hit, I did really enjoy the pure speed of Superman’s launch even though you can’t feel the acceleration. I think this will still be a great element, just in a different way.
I can’t wait to look down during the 2nd launch of Top Thrill 2. Ready To Go on that in 2024?
Why do you think the first launch so slow? Also, Zamperla project head stated on local TV that the first launch is actually 84mph if that matters 😂
I only have 2 cons for this ride
1. The name
2. The trains color scheme
I don't hate them and they're not bad color schemes but I just wish they made them look more like the original trains
I love your optimism towards cp adding more rides with capacity in mind. As long as fast lane exists they have no incentive to shorten lines. If anything they have incentive to increase wait times to sell more free money from fast lane.
The speeds stay the same. If you don't go as high on the spike or tophat, then you will get a bigger boost in speed. Win either way.
Most coasters start great then end "ok".
Good coasters keep the pacing through out the ride.
Elite coasters gradually get better as the ride goes on.
That's why at a stand still 74 will seem just fine.
120mph gets you to 420ft
60mph gets you to 210ft so
74mph gets you to 259ft on the top hat
101mph on the vertical spike gets to 353ft.
The new trains will be nothing short of great.

Yeah, that launch just seems really gradual so it’s a little iffy
Its going to feel slow. Theyre using the same length of track they used to accel to 120mph, now its only 74. That first launch going to feel like a kiddie ride.
I wonder what it would feel like riding the last car backwards. Imagine the last car of the train facing backwards like we see on some coasters where it's a mix of both forward and backwards.
I do agree the point to Dragster was that launch and they could've tasked S&S to convert the hydraulic launch into a compressed Air launch.
I've always called it Top Thrill, excellent choice 👌. Going at least 101 mph backwards will be epic. Talking from someone who had the pleasure of a roll back, now every ride is just that. Do you really think Tony released the real figures, not a chance. Clue tophat trim breaks...😅
I'm kinda disappointed that it's not getting the "Wicked Twister" twisted spike.
I think that first launch with such a low speed seems kind of useless😢
Too soon to say if the trains are a pro or con. On paper they sound great but nobody knows how they will actually ride. Zamperla has a reputation for having some of the roughest trains but these are all new so hopefully they will be great

Not saying you are but idk why people are hating it sm 💀 It's still drawers, it just added a new feature and that's the beginning. You eventually get to experience the og launch after you go down the spike but it's even more faster. So don't know why so many people are bitchin.
Bunny hill on the spike would be a cool element

I have to admit, I was a little disappointed with the name and the final decisions for this ride. I was hoping for a little more. That being said, I think that it is going to be a blast!

They’re making it like a sequel to top thrill, not a new ride entirely

If I may be constructive, calling something "dumb" isn't really a valid criticism. You might want to try expanding and being more specific about why you don't like something.

I think if the first launch was any faster the launch up the spike would be a bit more on the dangerous side
They could of easily solved that by making the spike over 500 ft, which would have gotten the title of world tallest coaster again.
The issue with that is they probably would’ve had to trim instead of a third launch
The lsm launch is pretty weak sauce, probably will pull close to half the g's than the hydraulic launch did.
The only reason the og rollback was cool was because it added another intense launch, as well as more time on a short ride. This whole ride feels like a cheap gimmick

I'm just glad that it won't be named Polaris, like most was speculating. Thankfully Cedar Fair put the Polaris name in file #13(🗑️) after going with Orion for the New Kings Island Rollercoaster. Polaris, WHAT A LAME, and DUMB NAME!!!🤣🤣🤣
There was no passion designing this. Lame launch. Lame quarter rollback. Straight track. Stupid name. Mild Thrill Downgrade 0.0
I want Cedar Point to close forever, and this Dragster revamp is why. I wanted to experience all of Cedar Point at its best. That includes the coaster collection they had from May 5, 2018 to August 15, 2021 and all the non-coaster things that are worth checking out. Top Thrill Dragster was NEVER open when I was "ready to go", and I never got a chance to ride it. And that's why I'm not a fan of this park. I'll never get to experience Cedar Point at its best again, and I wasn't done with that. Cedar Point is not better than ever, and after I ride every coaster and non-coaster attraction worth checking out here, I'll do everything I can to close Cedar Point... FOREVER.

That's kinda petty ngl. Just because something's new and you already experienced the old version doesn't mean nobody else should be able to enjoy the new one.

@@caseymurray7722 If you're using the "old/new" thing with talking about Top Thrill Dragster, fact check: I was never able to get a ride on that coaster before its permanent closure. My luck was in the toilet with getting on that. Whenever I wasn't ready to ride it, it was operating, and whenever I felt like "Baby, I'm ready go!" it was closed. On another terrible note the day after I left Cedar Point, Top Thrill Dragster reopened. And fast-forward to today, Cedar Point gave me one of the worst things that ever happened IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. That's why I want that amusement park to CLOSE FOREVER.
I think swing launches/spikes are overrated and overhyped so this will be the most overrated coaster since Millennium Force. And hopefully this will be just as big of a maintenance nightmare if not bigger than the original Dragster. Then CP will realize they've made the biggest mistake ever by modifying it and making them home to the 2 most overrated coasters on earth and realize they should've just reopened the original TTD as it was.
