I was curious about the trim on the top hat. I can't imagine the train would be going so fast that it would need to be slowed down at that point. Traditionally, it's barely made it over the top. And since the speed of the launch isn't increasing, I don't get it. What I hope, though, is that the trim actually halts the train for a brief moment so we can finally take in the fact we're over 400 feet in the air. That's always been my issue with Dragster; the trip was so quick that you never got to savor the record-breaking height. I think the new spike will help a little with that as well.
Im also not surprised the queue stayed. But, because its cheaper to not uproot all that concrete. I don't see how a new launch system has anything to do with a sensor plate.. I imagine the ride will still have sensors to tell systems when to send the next train.. though it sounds like it will not be an accessory piece of metal? idk
I'm so excited about this! Yes, I was disappointed it's not the tallest, fastest to eclipse the Copy Cat! But, this is so much better! Give CP & Zamperla credit, this is the Best thing that ever happened to them. CP promised a new ride experience, not a new ride! I think getting rid of the Dragster thing was the appropriate thing to do. TT2, being a second generation of this coaster is also appropriate. I think with all the launches, the ride will be better than ever! Let's just be thankful it's back and not torn down like I expected from the beginning.

Can you speak on the new track with the track switch, is it going to take even longer to load than previous or is there a coaster that is already using this type of switch track design as the previous was a full circuit.
I'm looking forward to it. It won't be as good as og ttd, bur that's ok because we still have Ka for that experience. I think going backwards at 101 mph is going to be more intense than people are giving it credit for. I've never traveled backwards so fast, so I bet that is going to be fantastic. Yes the name is lame, but cp is an amusement park not a theme park, so the name isn't as important. Plus people will still call it Dragster no matter what (point n case Phantom's Revenge is still most commonly referred to as Phantom 20 plus years later)

It is beyond absurd. Two arguments people make for not getting a record with a spike: 1. A spike could not be a record. People say the arguments CP made in the 90's and early 00's about Superman: The Escape show CP would not consider it a record. However, the community at large and CP since then has considered it a record. CP has counted both their Pipe Scream and Wicked Twister as coasters and has counted Wicked Twister as a coaster over 200' even though the entire train or probably not any of the train cleared that height. A record claimed for Valravn was most coasters over 200' in one park, WT included. 2. Overspeed: People think a higher spike would mean the train would be going too fast for the tophat. This is an insufficient explanation for the 420' height for several reasons: 1. Due to friction, the first hill is always higher than the 2nd hill. You can go higher. 2. If you need a 3rd launch, you could have just dropped more and skipped the 3rd launch. 3. Terminal velocity of a roller coaster is around 120MPH so you may need a 3rd launch anyway regardless of height of the spike. 4. Speed could be adjusted with a trim; they added one, so they are willing to add one. For those arguing cost, they have not built in 6 years, and they are clearly not building to save money here. The spike could have been shorter with the speed (Tower of Terror was shorter with a 100mph launch). They are being cute with the symmetry valuing that over the experience or the record. The decision maker clearly doesn't understand the experience aspect calling the 74mph rollback "everyone's favorite." Absurd. What this ride should have been is 110mph launch into a real rollback, 130MPH+ backwards into a spike higher than Kingda Ka and hopefully over 500', and then control the speed for a pass over the tophat. What would it have cost? An extra 2-5 million to make this ride better than the original? Now we are going to launch up half the tower with a "Maverick" launch while remembering what the original launch was. This is the risk of an affirmative action hire. I am not saying every woman would f-up this badly, but wow, everyone is biting their tongue on this ridiculous decision. She had to come up with the "equality" of height decision herself because we can't have anyone mansplaining the math, science, and experience to her. Once you leave employee status and enter management, you do not do it alone. An integral part of leadership and management is utilizing your resources and managing people who have knowledge and experience you do not have. If you have a chip on your shoulder blocking your ears, you cannot do you job. If you have to come up with every idea yourself, you are not upper management or CEO material. Either she isolated herself from advice out of insecurity of how she would be perceived, or she horribly misevaluated the options. Building 36' short of a record is a massive fail. Even if there was some trivial obstacle, a good manager would have overcome it. Building records is CP's identity. And they try to live up to that legacy by claiming some absurd triple launch record while intentionally deciding to not build a record. She wants to move on from records? Then don't claim one! Six Flags and Intamin are constructing a rollercoaster right now with a triple launch that will clear 600'. Don't embarrass yourself by highlighting your failure with absurd marketing.

Ttd was worth the wait in line because of the intensity of its launch, which this is clearly not matching. Youre right about it leaving itself open to comparison to its former self. I dont think this is gonna compare. Ive always thought spikes were a gimmick. I donno man, im pretty dissapointed
The only reason they made the spike 420 is so that they can claim tallest spike and out do Superman. You only go about 350 ft up. Still going to be crazy though

@@devinrobinsonmedia5301 it was in a interview from ch. 3 tv in Ohio from inside the construction area .. and based on past data and evidence I wouldn't be surprised if they could vary the speed up or down of the launches .... Of course that would require additional programming I'm assuming....
I’m excited to experience TT2 but I am disappointed by the first launch max speed which barely makes it up the Top Hat for the highly advertised “roll back.” But I’m not complaining because I believe that the 101 mph second (reverse) launch will kick AZZ!!!! The rest of the ride experience seems fine. But WHY?? OH WHY is there not negative G hill during the primary launch track sequence? Perhaps on the third launch it would pulverize the bones of riders on launch number three? Whatever the reasons, I am glad to see Top Thrill Dragster reborn as TT2. My nipples are hard! 😅 Please don’t tell Tony Clark!!! 😅
Only thing I am not a fan of, is the name….just call it top thrill, and be done with it…and perhaps they will, just like disaster transport was “dispatch disaster transport” but everyone dropped the disaster part of it after a couple years…..
