“Hawaiian Sun: Passionfruit Guava”! 🌺 By far THE BEST 🙌🏻 canned Drink on The Islands!! It’s sold out all the time in the mainland! Even better as a slushy if you put it in an open container in the freezer for 45 minutes & then shake it! Aloha! 🤗

No doubt, Zippy's Mac salad is the gold standard! Luv the chili too. And it might be nostalgia, but Zippy's fried chicken is my favorite. The taste of these three items cannot be duplicated. And I know exactly what you mean by dry stringy chicken.
Born and raised on Oahu. I never have and never will be a Zippy’s chili fan but I do agree everyone should try it at least once! Reminds me of “meat glue”. Their fried chicken is moist and delicious though!!! Still enjoyed this video. 🤙🏽🍱🍗

I'm old enough to be your mom, but...when I was your age, I used to go to Zippy's JUST for the spaghetti. I've tried to make it here at home in Idaho but epic fail every time. I remember also cramming for UH finals with my friends over fries (crispy fry gang!), Portuguese eggs, rice, and chili... Those were the days.

I miss zippy’s. I wish there was one in Hanford or Visalia in California. I miss the teriyaki beef and the oxtail soup.

Zippys,stopped serving mahi-mahi for years now due to declining fish and cost. Tastes good though as its all in the breading. Its true for a get together or pot luck, mac salad, chili, and chicken are choices to bring. I get a 6 or dozen assorted napples too to go along with it. Im just shocked how prices have gone up though for plate lunches all over being $10 or more standard nowadays. I usually go elsewhere for my food for higher quality for the same price.
The good thing about zippys is 24hrs! Prices are creeping up though 😔
Zippys plate lunch’s are on the cheaper side. They are $10 plus. Most plate lunch plate places are starting at $12 plus now!
Omg I miss Zippys, especially their KFC and fried chicken!
Maybe I'm biased (I'm also filipino-american) but I love Zippys fried chicken over Jollibee or Max's Manila fried chicken @jaycation

Also, just had to comment on the musubi & and spam musubi clarification. I think @jaycation was asking if it was correct to specify the type of musubi when referencing it (i.e. spam, hot dog, chicken katsu) versus on how to say moo-soo-bee. 😆
Oh and Felix, I'm pretty sure there's tocino flavored spam in CA. They sell the variety kinds of spam here in WA 😊 it's just a Lil pricier

You two should try Kam Bowl Restaurant at Kamehameha Shopping Center. The most popular dish are oxtail soup or Oxtail Ramen.

Loved this video!! It reminded me of my youth. I've been eating Zippy's food since 1977!! It was the place to go after the disco, lol. Too bad the prices have gone up so much. You can't beat their chili and fried chicken, no matter what the price. Mahalo guys for this trip down memory lane.

@@AmandaFelixEats to me, I would say that chickens DO fly... not jump, FLY ... a few times at the government agency I used to work in Kalihi, the rampant chickens would fly up the large branches of the tree... a good 20-25 feet off the ground.. and so being curious i checked the internet, and they do say, that chickens DO fly === certain breeds fly easier than others..

Wild chickens fly, so do turkeys and ducks. Unless their wings have been clipped, no reason why they can't fly, LOL.
Growing up liked zippys but now a days not so much. They seem to be measuring everything. Before they would just pile the food on. And with these other places like in waipahu garden iisland, pupukea grindz scoopers kitchen you can get more food for way cheaper.

Iconic, iconic Zippy's! Interesting about their name. Didn't know they have Korean Fried Chicken. Ono! Spam is a Hawai'i staple along with canned corned beef, Vienna sausages, tuna, sardines, deviled ham, etc. All the affordable non-perishables. Great to meet @Jaycation. Love San Diego. Taught in Las Vegas/Clark County Schools 7 years. Large Hawai'i population there and lots of visitors from Hawai'i too.

My favorite spam is tocino spam. We went to Don Quijote when we were in Oahu a week ago, but they didn’t have any. During our last trip to Oahu in 2019, we brought back 10 cans. 😃
