A great build coming up for sure. The unique dark green curved slopes with gold stripes are hard to find. Solid pieces can be used and a gold stripes can be added with a pen or stickers. Worked for me.
I've seen some folks do that, I didn't think I had a steady enough hand to get them straight. Then again the printed pieces from Lego aren't always straight either

Inspired by your video and bit the bullet and ordered a bunch of those green slopes with the gold print for my flying scotsman inspired build. Bought many wheels from Big Ben they probably the only one I would buy, i dont like 3d printed parts
If I could go back I would have gotten the ones with traction band grooves, I didn't see them since they are near the bottom of the page. Live and learn 🤷♂️

@@BatteryPoweredBricks yeah you gotta carve into the wheels a valley to put a rubber band in. Wonder if you used a lathe it would be easy to do
I just got a cheap Emerald Night from one of those cheap asian sites. The quality really suprized me aswell. Complete set for €37. Is that now a viable brick source? Buy a cheap set that has some rare parts?
Third party sets / pieces are very hit or miss. Even different sets from the same company can vary in quality. For the cost it's usually worth the price to give things a try though
nice to see you get into some scale lego railroading!
