Hello Simon, I hope all are well friend. I remember when you brought the generator home and I'm glad you scored the starter and all the other parts. Thanks for letting me ride along, seems we should have been jamming out to some pink floyd or perhaps some zeppelin on our travels. Wife and I talk more each day about finding us a remote location with all the craziness going on here. We live in the country and hardly ever have a visitor which is fine and we like it that way but not quite as remote as we would like. I pray the fishing is great and the you have a bountiful potato harvest in the fall. Take care and we'll see you down the road my friend. Hello Sara 👋 I hope your doing well! ❤
We are all good thanks and should always travel with floyd and zeppelin a great combo me thinks. We can say for sure we are well passed crazy, even absurd can do it justice. I know a big move can be scary for some but look at it like the last great adventure and do it. Far away with what you need, defendable and very quiet. No debt and a river with fish. I would say fertile land but I bust on that one! I am not convinced I will have the potato harvest I need early signs are not good. Be safe my friend and have a look around.
@@cuprasurfa thanks Sara. Great job keeping the boys in check, I know it must be difficult 😉 I hope you've been showing Simon up with those monster perch. We're preparing for labor day weekend here with a trip to a state park for 3 nights of primitive camping with our granddaughter and siberian husky Bandit. Our granddaughter will be 4 years old September 30th. Such an amazing blessing she is. I mentioned to Simon were contemplating going remote, leaving the granddaughter would be the most difficult. Best of luck with your day to days and God bless! Thanks for your reply.
@HallnoutMhall I hope you all have the best time this weekend 💗 and yes funny you should mention monster perch. We went out on the river yesterday, Simon caught the largest one for him this season then 10mins on I caught an even bigger one. We had 25 nice size perch. The freezer is filling nicely.
😊😊😊😊 Absolutely WONDERFUL Simon! ⚡️⚡️⚡️ and then there was 💡 💡!!! Sarah will be ecstatic. It isn’t a White Elephant anymore but a Green noisy one. Sure do remember you “picking” it up and bringing it home. How exciting indeed Simon. So much fun watching. Thank you and have a wonderful week. Kasper had so much fun too. Warmest wishes to you all 😊😊😊😊❤❤🇦🇺🇸🇪.
Thank you Anne, Sarah was indeed very happy that this time I bought back some junk that does work. Kasper's best days are ones he get to ride out with me, he would live in the van if he could. Stay safe and well our best is returned to you both.
Congratulations on getting the generator up and running. When you have finished going thru the controls, please give us a run thru on them. Many years ago, when I was still in the working world, controls like those were one of my main areas of interest. I noticed that one of the control modules was manufactured by ASEA. Small world: I am retired plant engineer from a US ABB (Asea Brown Boveri) location!
Howdy Simon- I’m happy for you that you found your twin because that should make the world a better place, at least in your beautiful country. It’s amazing you were able to get exactly what you needed for your generator to make it start and run. There no doubt whatsoever that you will figure out what to do to make all the electrics work properly. Great find and an exciting video. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. God bless
Thank you Paul, you know it is always good to add to the useful collection of requirements and the fact they work should be celebrated. I hope all is well with you and your good lady. Be well my friend and take care.
I am so happy for you Simon and you will get some good use out of it and having480 will be a game changer for running just about anything keep them videos coming🙏🙏🇺🇸
The second before you said I meet my twin, I thought you where back on your own yard😀 That landscape of yours is absolute religious, at least for me who lives in south Sweden. And I totally agree on your thoughts🤠 That graderdriver you asked for is probarbly not even close. Just imagine, tops 4 km/h and then going back the same way.🤓 And still most roads are in pretty good shape. The deep wide ditches are remarkable.
The north is a wonderful place, the pace of life is slower and the work is harder but the benefits are greater. The roads are very good when you think about how long and remote they are. The winters destroy them and in the spring they are fixed again. They do kill regular cars though. Thus the Volvo's.
Great job, i'm thinking im the winter will be usefull to keep the furnace pumps and also lights. The Amp meter will show smth only you are having a load to get those amps. The voltmeter should show smth but i think you will need those fuses. Maybe the fan and the cooling sistem will work also if you put the fuses. Also, maybe is shuting down due to temperature, maybe is having some sensors or is detecting that the cooling part is not functional at all for now.
My Exact thoughts, I wondered if I needed a draw. Those fuses are only for external power, all the other items run from the second box which is connected and does have the fuses in so just need to get the switch configuration correct and it should all work.
Brilliant Si great find absolute bargain lovely to here that old generator start up and run given a bit more work and you will have every part of that generator housing working like it should i give you a big pat on the back all the way from Milton Keynes. The views of the countryside and Casper great as well another fine video 👍👍
Thanks Ash, you know in life sometimes you have to be patient for things to come together. I hope you and the girls are all good. I did speak with Mum yesterday she said you called Thursday evening I thought by the time I finished it was too late.
Nice! Good on ya Simon (and your Swedish twin)getting the old Petter running.. I don't know how much power such a machine will put out, but I'm guessing it will be a welcome addition to the workshop power wise👍 Regarding your trip to fetch the engine.. there are so many beautiful but hidden gems all over Scandinavia where one would never imagine people not only living.. but thriving 🙂 The Arctic north are full of these places, you just have to find them... anyhoo.. all the best to you, looking forward to the next one😎
Thank you, it will run everything that is necessary should we loose power the biggest of all are the pumps during winter. If we loose power we cannot heat the building and it will freeze solid within hours. Pipes burst toilets smash ect . That I am aware of it has never happened but things have changed as you know.
Hi Simon. Thanks for the videos! The 7 position switch labelled with combinations of R, S and T is most likely the selector switch for the volt meter. R, S and T are sometimes used as phase labels. Moving that off of the 0 (off) position will most likely make the volt meter work. Would expect the switch positions to be the three phase to phase voltages and the three phases to neutral. These may be on the main output so may not read without the output cable being live! I assume the majority of that panel is contractors and control relays for the auto transfer switch between grid and generator. Good luck with working out the rest! I suspecg the ancilaries like the venterlation, heat and the light are fairly simple and are most likely controlled just from the two thermostats on the wall above the air intake. Best wishes to you!
Very helpful information Robert thank you very much, that is confirmation of where I was going but felt at the time as though I should check before randomly turning switches while feeling the engine was getting hot. I will show the final results. Very helpful again thank you.
As soon as I seen the motor come out my eye lite up knowing what it was for . That awesome you got the generator running not to mention you have some extra parts just in case it goes sour Goods score Simon. I do have a question though what are you doing with the hay bales🤔🤔 . Plus a side note I think you're running the same tires on your Toyota Land Cruiser as I am on my Jeep .
Hi Heith, Thanks the hay bales are for the potatoes I am running an experiment on bad soil. The tires are cooper muds that I have studded. I also had them on my YJ which came from Canada.
@@arctic-rebel yeh , I forgot you had some spuds growing in that garden .. there's some ppl here that grow spuds right in straw square bails . It dose work but I have yet to try it . Can't think that they would have that nice earthy taste tho

In Sweden they even have street lights in the middle of nowhere, amazing 👍🏻
Yes Sweden is an amazing place.

It is kind of weird that everyone paints their house the same color. They must only have those two colors at the store.
