Oh my GOODNESS Simon! I enjoyed every minute of the whole episode! What an incredible adventure and to be able to see it every step of the way! Have to get everything thing down and loaded AND transported coupled with moving the cameras and having mic., problems to boot…..that not including the weather, tyre puncher and needing to use the generator…..my heart thumped a wee bit faster when it was….fell off the back of the van😮😮😮. A builders construction Award goes to you for bamboo sure😊!. And a Project Managers Award goes to Kasper❤! I sure hope the owner watches this amazing put-together. For an amazing cabin originally hand cut and built in 1937, then moved twice the wood has proven its value a thousand fold. The hemp plus fibre scraps for insulation was also an interesting element for me too. Brent did watch small bursts and he too was truely amazed at your single handed knowledge, improvisation and endurance! Eight, nine hour days to that stage! …… these days with everything available, I don’t think I know anyone who would be able to do what you did ON THERE OWN….and you did. Awe inspiring. Thank you. Looking towards the next adventure. Abundant Blessings to you, warmest love to the family. For Kasper big hugs and kisses.❤️🇦🇺🇸🇪
Thank you Anne, I feel humble I think-well at least happy to have informed and entertained. I did moan a bit but did also very much enjoy the project. Amazing to think it is just the start of a new life for this cabin, so much work and craftsmanship ahead to get it back to a usable and good looking cabin. I hope I can be a part of the work. Thank you so much for all your support and kind words. We send our love to you both.
5 minutersjobben är alltid ett misstag bort från att bli ett 8 timmars jobb 😀 Nice work with the move ! A lot of work for one man!
Man oh man Simon the things you get yourself into! Are you a helpful handyman or accepting work when available? Ive never moved a building but when doing other projects, I've discovered, like you have with this job, much more complications than anticipated. I like a challenge but usually it becomes a pain in the ass before its over. I admire your patience and tenacity in doing such work.
Hi Matthew, it is all just part of the journey. One which should be enjoyed and for the most part is. Bad days are part of that as are dealing with people. I am less opinionated these days which allows me to except more and sleep better. This particular job was well within my ability I am just less able to do the lifting than before and better to save and create than to destroy. I did really enjoy able to relocate this cabin and see it saved for the next generation. Thank you and take care.
Howdy Simon- what a wonderful way to spend my Friday night! Fantastic video except for one thing- I didn’t get to help you with anything lol. Taking a cabin completely apart and moving it is quite an undertaking. Wonderful job with everything. You deserve a day off but I know you’re already on to something else. Hope you and Ms Sarah have a great weekend. God bless
Hi Paul, I thought of you many times during the process especially when I was reconstructing and I watched you haul each log to the top of your cabin with that A frame and block & Tackle. You would have made that job so much easier that much I am sure. Yes I am in the middle of the flooring job and hope to have it finished this weekend. Thanks you and take care my friend.
Hell of a great job Simon! The first hour was funny as 💩Mr. Murphy was on your ass 😂😂 but all in all hell of an accomplishment . Shows us two things you do great work and you can be long winded 😂😂👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👌🏻
Great work SI you will have earned every penny of profit you might make out of that job 👍 Hard slog on your own you could have done without that flat tyre. Good videoing and music also best to you Sarah and Casper
Thanks Simon - for taking the time and making the effort to record and edit the saga of epic proportion! Grand job for one man and his dog! I'm sure we're all looking forward to the next saga... and the next and so on! Just a pity the owner didn't give you the job from the start... maybe then you wouldn't have had to work in the snow and slush! One question, will you not pull a tarp over the shell to try and keep it dry, or will the snow loading be too big? Happy rest of the weekend all of you up there!
Hi AJ, I have put much thought into what I think is best for the walls over the winter. I feel this year is going to be the exception to the norm but I think given how dry the winters are and the fact the cold draws out the moisture it would be best to leave it as is. Covering timber here has caused me so many problems and seems to leave it saturated when the ice melts and therefore my though process leads me to believe leaving it would be the best for the timbers. Naturally a cover would be best but there is not the time for that now. Hope you are all well, take care my friend.
Hi Simon. Wow that was a job and a half. Great video. It’s probably more square and plum than it was before you took it apart. They call that filler chinking here in the UK. 🇬🇧😎
Great video simon awesome job moving that cabin well done yup we had some of that white stuff here already couple of inches you take care and be safe my friend
Nice vid and good job on the move.. not for the faint hearted.. 😊.. transit traction control can be disable by pulling the fuse can't remember what number it was but just removing it giving it some traditional wellie then returning the fuse to its place and turning back on the ignition then off things went as usual.. no fault codes either.. Just a thought for you.. might get you out of a sticky place as well. Stay safe 🏴
Thank you, on the Transit issue as I was editing and could see how frustrated I was I remembered they have a fuse or relay that can be pulled. Just as soon as I have a moment it will be out and binned.
@@arctic-rebel unfortunately we needed to replace the fuse as its an mot failure if the lights on all the time.. just fit a switch to turn on and of the power from the fuse under the dash.. 😉
When you where about to undo the joists i thought maybe a piece of lumber and bottle jack would push the sides apart enough for them to spring back and reveal the heads to pull out.
The jobs alredy done but maybe a sawzall with a long metal blade would have been a better alternative to the cutoff wheel? Altough you'd be numb in the hands afterwards.
Great vid, as usual Simon :) Regarding the traction control issue. Have you tried to "long press" and hold the button for a few seconds, then the entire TCS system should be switched off.
That wooly stuff is made of ”lin” (in swedish) and according to google its called Flax in english. Same stuff used in sealing treads on water pipes in old houses which you probably have seen.
Well done my friend👍👍 That is way too much work for one man, but the "Simonuity" came through once again🙂 And, by the way.. even if I quit smoking almost 10 years ago, it still is really satisfying.. yes, even liberating to see someone still lighting up a hand rolled cigarette and just give f..k all about political correctness.. which in my mind has gone way too far😠 I won't start any discussions, but one can almost not open one's mouth to utter an honest opinion before the "cancellation team" come into play--- well, that was the rant of the week.. have a great weekend my friend, all the best to you and yours😀
Thank you so much, I hope it was not to boring or long. As for the cancellation team, I have a big hole dug in the forest and they came jump or be pushed I care not. This world was built by Man and most of them were dead before 60!. Have a great weekend.
@@arctic-rebel Boring?? Too long?? Heck no.. I enjoyed every minute👌It was the perfect Friday evening movie.. peanuts, a 12 year old Scottish racing fuel and a Swedish beverage as a chaser.. the first in a loong time.. Perfection👍
Oh Simon hard work flat tire snow cold respect man for your work hope you paid well you deseve it.
Thank you, all in a days work. Could have been worse, this time last year was -15. Have a great week

@thenorthener6. 855 I'm an Old Bushmills man myself.
Why do i always think of the man from Del Monte when i see Simon
Because eventually he always says yes!
your camera panning is really annoying, it would be better if you worked more with a tripod instead of uploading wild mobile shots.
" uploading wild mobile shots" That is one way to describe it. Thank you.
